I'm going to refer to Light as 'Light' instead of 'Kira' to keep people from getting too confused; namely me, but whenever he gives his name out or is spoken to it'll be the name 'Kira'. Thank you Imperitrici Vicssitudinis for the reviews and all who have faved/followed. Warning: lemon.

Chapter 25: Light POV

The body shuddered beneath him, pliable and slick with sweat as Light continued to thrust into the willing body, fangs buried deep in the flesh of the neck allowing warm blood to spill down his throat even as his meal reached climax, wringing from Light his own. Pulling out he collapsed onto the bed before heaving a sigh and got to his feet, pulling up his pants and re-buttoning his shirt as he left the blood whore to wind down from her climax and the aftermath of being drunk from. She was lucky she was still alive, Light had a tendency to kill whenever he drunk, but her blood was thick and riddled with illnesses he couldn't stomach more than the mouthfuls he took.

The problem now was that he was still hungry, and the horrid taste of diseased blood did nothing but increase his hunger, though that could also be because he was hardwired to drink vampire blood. Leaving the whorehouse Light strolled the streets looking for an easy meal, fledglings tended to hang around in the alleyways around the red light district. What he wanted though, was the blood of a prince, no blood was richer and more enticing he'd found, unfortunately they seemed to be in hiding since he'd made a spectacle of his prey.

Instincts flared and he dodged the stake that came flying for his heart. 'A hunter, what joy.' He thought sourly as he spun gracefully to face his attacker, a young girl who looked a lot like the one he'd strung up just the night before faced him with a wooden stake grasped in her hand. Scowling he backed away, intending on leaving as he had no desire to drink human blood, when the brunet girl lunged at him again with a yell. Backhanding her with nary a thought Light turned and left the girl stunned on the pavement. Damn hunters were coming out of the woodwork these days, and he didn't like it one bit. Last night's message came to mind as he navigated the almost empty streets. Why his sire had ordered him to do such a thing was beyond him, it completely went against his usual pattern, but he did it anyway.

Hurried footsteps let him know that the young huntress was currently tracking him, let her, as long as she didn't get in his way he had no need to remove her. The tantalising scent of vampire blood caused him to come to an abrupt halt, eyes scanning the area whilst he listened for the tell-tale signs of vampire activity. Disregarding the heartbeat of the huntress Light focus zeroed in on a shady looking male who was eyeing a couple of street workers. Fangs permanently in place, he ran his tongue over the razor-sharp tips and began to stalk up to his intended prey.

Sensing an oncoming threat the other vampire looked up and stared at Light with challenge in his eyes. 'The poor fool thinks I'm after the humans.' Allowing a snort of disgust to escape, Light leaped towards the younger vampire bloodlust gleaming in his eyes. The two human females shrieked and ran, leaving behind the two fighting vampires and the ignored huntress. They collided with a thud, falling heavily to the ground before breaking apart and circling each other eyes gleaming.

"What the hell is your problem?" The other vampire hissed, hands clenching into fists. "You just cost me my meal!" The vampire broke the circling pattern, heading for Light before emitting a shriek of pain as a projected wooden stake plunged into his stomach. Light halted his advance, watching as the young huntress set her sights on his prey. Holy water sprayed from a bottle in a continuous stream, the injured vampire cowering in pain as smoke wisped from his burning skin. The huntress walked up to the vampire, not once showing that she feared having Light to her back.

'She's very cocky for a young hunter, especially for one alone and dealing with two vampires.' Light watched as she dusted his meal without much fanfare, a low growl of irritation slipping from his mouth even as his stomach cried out to be fed by something other than human blood. Turning on his heel, Light walked away with irritation showing in every step. He'd let her live and she killed his meal, the huntress was now on thin ice. Ice which grew thinner when Light heard hurried footsteps following behind him.

"Hey, wait up!" Came an indignant cry from behind him. He didn't slow his pace as he continued to walk ahead of her, irritation forming a scowl on his face. "I'm sorry I killed your kill Light, I was just so happy to see you and it looked like it would take a while for you to kill him on your own. Please don't be mad Light, you've already reached Hunter status so what does it matter if someone else gets the kill?" The girl huffed as she overtook him at a run and thrust her empty hands out in front of her in a signal for Light to stop.

Heaving a heavy sigh he came to a halt, resting his hands in his pockets as he observed the huntress with a bored gaze. 'She's the second person to call me by that name, whoever they think I am must be really popular with the ladies.' And if what the huntress had said was true, this 'Light' person was a Hunter. It made him wonder why he had yet to encounter this person, especially after leaving his signature kills in broad sight. "Look, kid, I don't know who this 'Light' person is, so just get out of my face already and go home. Isn't it past your curfew or something?" He asked, ignoring the hurried heartbeat of the girl and cries of hunger from his inner vampire.

The girl let out a forced laugh as she slowly approached him; hands still held up in front of her. "Come on Light, stop messing around and come home with me. I don't know what happened, but everyone's been really worried about you. We thought you'd run off, or had even…" Her words trailed off as she chocked on the end of her sentence before continuing. "But that doesn't matter now, 'cos you're here and you're safe. So come home with me Light."

He took a violent step back, a low growl escaping his lips as he bared his fangs in warning. "For the last time human, I don't know who it is you're looking for but I'm not him." The huntress had dropped her hands to her stake in a practise motion, tears starting to gather in her eyes as she trembled in shock.

"Light? No, no, Light, no." She cried the stake clutched to her chest as she shook her head in denial.

"Kira," He snarled in response to her tears, anger coursing through him as his vampire cried out to feed upon the devastated girl even though her blood wouldn't sate him. "For the last time, my name is Kira. Remember it huntress, and get out of my sight before I string you up like your fellow hunters." With that he left the girl to collapse upon the pavement in heartbroken tears, not once looking back upon her fallen form.
