A/N: As I said in "Dangerous Game", I'm sorry about the lack of update. I've been a bit busy with finals coming up and so many essays that I will be able to update a bit more by winter break. But if you don't remember Kris' last sleepwalking adventure, check out Ch. 36: "Flying Monkeys, Sleepwalking, and Sleep Talking, Oh My!" in "Adventures of Kris Marx"

Disclaimer: Read Ch. 1 and "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" does not belong to me. That belongs to the 1966 cartoon, "How the Grinch Stone Christmas" and also Dr. Seuss.

You Sleepwalk, Ms. Marx

Kris' POV

Three days…

Late nights…

One-hour naps…

Morning coffee…

Five hours of Christmas movies and music to try to keep me up.

"Just a couple more days until vacation," I mumbled as I stared at the computer screen. I had an ear bud on listening to the song about Mr. Grinch, trying to stay awake but I could feel my eyes trying to shut.

This case had run its course and here I sit in the bullpen, trying to get some work done. I know that people came in and out of the bullpen but I'm too exhausted to care. I leaned back in my chair, closing my eyes briefly and soon, I seemed to relax. That was until I felt something nudge me.

"Come on, Kiddo," I opened my eyes tiredly to see Jane looking down at me. I groaned tiredly and closed my eyes again, trying to ignore her until I felt her tug on my arm.

I stood up and felt Jane guide me toward the elevator. I leaned against her shoulder and grumbled tiredly. "You're spending the night at the house," I heard Jane say to me.

I nodded against her shoulder as Jane continued to guide me around until I heard, "Kris, we're home."

"Already," I mumbled.

"Yeah, you fell asleep on the drive home."

"Okay…" I stepped out of the car, feeling her drag me into the house.

"Kris," I heard Liam and Aly as I opened my arms for a quick hug. They hugged me, kissing both of my cheeks while Aly stated, "Kris, look at the Christmas tree!"

I glanced up tired to see the tree getting decorated with several lights. I smiled at it and mumbled, "It's pretty."

"Okay guys," I heard Jane say. "Kris needs sleep."

"Night Kris."

I nodded and mumbled back before I felt several hands and I grumbled, "Will you stop?"

"Sorry, love," Gabriella whispered as she tried to slip my jacket off. I moved with her as Gabriella stated, "Thank you, Jane. I'll try to get Kris into bed now." Jane said something back to them but I continued to focus on Gabriella who was now removing my shoes. "Kris, help me out here," Gabriella pleaded.

In a quick reflex, I kicked both of my shoes off then I lay back in the bed. Gabriella giggled and I felt her climb onto my body, laying her head on my shoulder as she kissed my chin. "Night love," she whispered.

"Night…"

Maura's POV

I heard a loud clatter causing me to awake from REM sleep. I looked over at the clock to see that it was barely one in the morning. I looked over to Jane's side of the bed to see that she was still fast asleep. I slipped out of the bed slowly and placed my robe around my body as I stepped out of the bedroom. I peered in the twins' room to see them both asleep in their beds.

"You're a mean one…Mr. Grinch…" I heard suddenly. My eyes widened as I walked down the staircase and looked over to see a familiar body hunched over by the Christmas tree. "You're cuddly…as a cactus and as charming as an…eel, Mr. Grinch!"

"Maura," I heard and looked over my shoulder to see Jane gazing at me with an exhausted look. "Honey, why are you up," she asked with a yawn.

I bit my lower lip and pointed down the staircase and Jane peered over to see the twirling figure in the dinning room. "I wouldn't touch you with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole," she heard with me before she gapped.

"Not again," she whispered. She walked down a couple more of steps then asked softly, "Should we wake her up?"

"It would be wise but remember last time…"

Jane frowned at the comment and nodded, "I still worry about putting the Wizard of Oz now."

"Jane? Maura," we peered over to see Gabriella dressed in her robe with a confused look. "Have you two seen Kris?"

"Your soul is full of gunk, Mr. Grinch!"

"What was that," Gabriella inquired.

Jane and I smiled at each other as Jane answered, "Kris."

Gabriella's eyebrows shot up and she peered over the ramp to see Kris dancing with a broom. She stifled a loud giggle before she looked back at us. "This is new," she commented.

"This is not new for us," I replied with a small laugh.

Kris twirled and pointed to the tree, "The three words that best describe you are as follows, and I quote, "Stink, stank, stunk!"

"We should wake her up," I suggested to Jane who watched in amusement. She looked at me with a small pout and I replied, "You know that if we don't that Kris will kill us."

Jane sighed loudly, "Fine…I'll wake her up but first…" I watched as Jane began to descend the staircase before she pulled out her cell phone.

Jane's POV-The next morning…

"Here's the pancakes for the grandbabies," Ma announced as she slid the Christmas pancakes to Aly and Liam. They cheered happily as Gabriella sat beside them, reading the newspaper while Maura sipped her coffee.

She then noticed the pancakes and asked, "Whip cream on it? Don't you think that's unhealthy?"

"They're Frosty the Snowman pancakes," Ma retorted. "I made them for Jane, Frankie and Tommy all the time when it was close to the holidays."

I looked over and I gave a small sheepish smile at Maura. "Prepare for hyper kids, Maur because we were wired for sound after eating this," I stated.

Maura sighed, "Oh dear."

"They're sooo good Mommy," Liam mumbled with his mouth full.

"William, what did we say about talking with food in our mouths?"

Liam swallowed and blushed, "Don't talk with your mouth full."

"That's right."

I smiled at Maura acting motherly before I noticed Ma glance over at the empty seat next to Gabby. "I'm surprised that Kris isn't up yet," she commented.

I smirked at Maura who tried to suppress a smile while Gabriella giggled lightly. "Kris might not come down immediately," I commented, sipping my coffee.

"What do you mean by that," Ma questioned back.

Suddenly, we heard a loud yawn and I looked over my shoulder to see Kris scratching the top of her head tiredly. She then walked over, taking a seat besides Gabriella who kissed her cheek. Ma placed a cup in front of Kris while I asked, "Long night, Kiddo?"

"First time I had a full night's sleep since this case started," Kris replied, sipping the coffee.

"So you didn't have any problems with your REM sleep," Maura inquired.

Kris gave a confused look and answered, "No. Why?"

I chuckled. "So have you been listening to Christmas music lately," I asked coyly.

"A bit… What's with the questions," Kris asked with an annoyed expression. I pulled out my phone and pressed the 'PLAY' button, starting a video of Kris holding a broom with her eyes closed. "You're a rotter, Mr. Grinch," Kris sang as she swayed to the music, "You're the king of sinful sots, Mr. Grinch!"

I stopped the video and looked at Kris. Her face was a bit red and her ears were glowing pure red as she used her hand, covering her face. "How much did you record," she mumbled.

"Oh, you sang the whole song but I only recorded this part before Maura guided back to bed," I answered. Kris lunged at the phone and I backed away, laughing as she tried to grab me with Liam and Aly laughing at the goofiness of it.

"I didn't know you sleepwalk Kris," Gabriella commented.

"I usually…don't. Ma, give it," Kris grunted. I shook my head and Kris sighed in exasperation as she fell back into her seat. She crossed her arms and added, "It's only if I don't have much sleep."

"Or listen to something for a long time. She did with the Wizard of Oz," I informed Gabriella.

"One time," Kris countered with a small pout.

I shook my head with a smile while Maura touched Kris' shoulder. "I don't think Santa wants you to pout, Kris," Maura stated.

"Yeah Kris. Don't act like a Grinch," I added. Kris narrowed her eyes and looked over at the counter. I noticed a small glint in her eyes as she stood up from her chair. "Kris, what are you up to," I asked in suspicion.

Kris smirked as she stood a bit on the side of the counter. She moved closer toward me and replied, "Oh nothing."

"It looks like something."

"Because it is," Kris retorted as she grabbed the whip cream and sprayed some onto my face. I let out a small squeal while everyone watched before Kris stepped back with a wide smile. I glared at her before Kris replied in a singsong tone with a wide smile, "I'm the mean one, Ms. Marx."
