Chapter 26

In the weeks that followed, Raf's parents accepted her place with Team Prime, but that didn't mean that they worried any less. Every night when Raf would come home, if they were alone, her parents would ask her if she was okay and search her for injuries. It was annoying, but Raf understood why they would do this, although she did find it a bit excessive. But they were her parents and tit was pretty much their job to worry.

'At least they don't drop by the base every other day like Ms. Darby does.' Raf thought as she and Bee drove to school that morning.

"I'll see you after school. Don't forget we're going racing this afternoon." Bee said as he dropped her off.

"I won't. See you after school." Raf said racing to class.

Raf walked through the halls and looked around looking for Jack and Miko. 'Guess they're already in class.' She thought as she made her way to first period.

As first period went on Raf found herself distracted by what happened between what happened between what happened between her and Bumblebee on her birthday. While they both agreed that it was due to the shock and grief of the events that happened that night, Raf was sure that she and Bee both felt that it felt like so much more than that. Having that in mind, she thought about what she had been feeling for him for the past few months. Every time she saw him, she felt flustered, safe, comfortable, and strangely like she had seen him before.

Raf was so caught up in her thoughts she didn't hear the bell ring or see the other students leave the classroom.

"Rafaella!" Mr. Nicholas said tapping on her desk. "The bell rang already, you can go."

"Sorry, just lost in thought." Raf apologized gathering her stuff and heading for her next class.

All that day Raf couldn't stop thinking about her and Bumblebee. A handful of times that day Raf didn't hear the bell and had to be brought back to reality by someone who told her that the class was over. By the time it was all over, Raf was lost in her thoughts and didn't see her sister Trina coming up from behind her.

"So, who's the boy?" Trina asked shocking Raf from her thoughts.

"What, there is no… I mean there is but it's not…we're just… shut up." Raf said trying to get away.

"Come on, I can totally help you. I can teach you how to get a guy's attention and how to be totally hot and keep interested."

"Uh, thanks Trina, but I don't think I am ready for that kind of stuff yet. I just turned 14 and besides even if I did like a guy, I'm pretty sure he's in love with someone else." Raf said sitting down to wait for Bee.

"Oh come on."

"I said no Trina." Raf said feeling very annoyed with her sister. "Just leave me alone. I'm waiting for someone."

"Oh, okay. Just make sure to tell the boy that Dad's a cop." Trina said mischievously.

"And stop with that, there is nothing between me and him." Raf said suddenly feeling shot. 'There is nothing between the two us, isn't there?' she questioned herself as her sister walked away.

She kept thinking about her and Bee and questioned whether or not there really was anything between her and Bee. She knew how she felt Bumblebee, but was worried that he didn't feel the same way and only treated her as he did on her birthday because they were just friends and he was just trying to make her feel better. But that didn't stop her from hoping that he did feel her as she did for him.

Raf was snapped from her thoughts when Bumblebee pulled up and opened his door for her to climb in.

"Hey Bee."

"Hey Raf, you okay, you look a little troubled by something. Is everything alright?" Bee asked driving out of the school's parking lot.

"Yeah everything's fine. I was just thinking about this test I have coming up in a few weeks. It's no big deal. I'm fine, really." Raf lied.

"Okay. You ready to go racing?"

"You know I am." Raf answered pulling the car and control out of her backpack.

They drove for a while were about to arrive to their usual meeting place when Bee got a message from Ratchet.

"Bumblebee, the team requires assistance. They are 2.5 kilks due north from your position. If you drop off Raf at the exit ramp, I can bridge her back to base from there."

"I'm sorry Raf."

"It's okay Bee. We'll go racing another time."

Raf got a feeling that something bad was going to happen real soon. And she was afraid to find out what it would be. She was snapped back when she heard blaster fire coming from behind them.

It was Megatron. Bumblebee was doing his best to avoid the shots and Raf tried to put her shield up but as soon as the blast hit her shield it shattered and she felt a dark shock surge through her body, and then there was darkness.
