Authors Notes: Sorry for the long delay, been a little busy behind the scenes. From house shopping to find a place to buy, to focusing a bit more on my YouTube channel. But, have no fear. I have not given up on continuing my stories, though I will be putting one on hold; or at the very least slowing down the updates on it so that I am only working on two at once.
Fear not, it is not this story. After much consideration, I will be putting Shepard of Fire off a little.
Kathryn – Or rather the person who is posting as Kathryn. First off, if you wish to discuss my writing style, feel free to make a FanFiciton account and message me, or if you already have one, sign in. Also, here is the next update. Sorry, I am not so easily put off to give up on what I enjoy doing because of one review. I tend to take each review, whether good or bad, with a grain of salt.
Secondly, if you have read all of my Winx Club based fanfics as you have stated, then you would understand that all of my fics are AU. Alternate Universe. Meaning they will have very little to do with the actual events of the series. This is my writing style. This is where I feel I have the most creative freedom with the characters. While I may not have watched the series in great detail, I do my best to research into the characters and big events that have happened.
Lastly, as per your suggestion. I am unsure how many seasons this story will go into. While I do intend to have Darkar make an appearance as well as other events in Season 2. Currently, I have nothing past Season 3 planned. Mainly because I feel Baltor/Valtor would be an interesting character to write.
Peacelovefairy – I do have something in mind for Riven. You'll get to see a small glimpse in this chapter. Enjoy.
Wishfull-star – Definitely. While Layla may be a little more accepting of Bloom after she saved the school from the Army of Decay, secrets will begin to unravel and add in a chance meeting between Wonder Woman and Layla.
Hivedragon – Keep in mind, Stella has already altered slightly from her base characteristics. Let's just say she is more interested in talking with Circe then going shopping for cloths.
Dynasty of Evil
Chapter 26
Daphne stared through the containment field that surrounded her lake that she had called home for so many years, at her younger sister. Even though she was now seeing what her baby sister had actually grown up into, the spectral woman could still only see her as the baby she held in her arms that fateful day. Honestly, she didn't know what she should feel as a maelstrom of emotions surged within her spectral being. Disgusted and appalled by what Bloom had become. The very embodiment of what she had fought against during her physical life. Yet at the same time, she longed to reach out and hold her as well.
"Why would I tell you anything of Domino?" Daphne asked defiantly.
Bloom only chuckled in response at first. She could see the conflict of emotions swirling within the ghost before her.
"I suppose I shall leave you two to get reacquainted." Circe stated. "In the meantime, I shall entertain our guests."
"I shall see you after I am done here, mother." Bloom responded before turning back to her sister as a flash of purple light signified that her mother had teleported out of the room.
"Now, where should we begin, Daphne?"
"Again." The specter stated. "Why should I tell you anything?"
"Other then the fact that whether you like what I have become or not?" Bloom smirked. "I am the sole surviving heir to the throne. And last I checked, they don't let ghosts sit upon the throne."
Daphne could feel her lips tighten.
"Tell you what." The young sorceress began. "Since I am sure you are curious as to what became of me since you sent me away, I will tell you. In return, you tell me more of our lost kingdom."
The specter weighed the option what was laid before her. She was surprised that her younger sister had been so astute in her assumption that she was curious of what happened after she set Bloom inside the portal that fateful day. Perhaps if she learned more of her younger sister, she could find a way to open her eyes to the evil she was doing.
"Fine." Daphne answered.
"Let us start for the beginning shall we?" Bloom commented. "As you know, when the portal destabilized, it sent me to earth instead of your intended destination of Solaria. That night Circe was out on a heist when she came across me."
The specter made a disgusted face at the actions of the woman who had raised her younger sister.
"Now Daphne, don't act surprised. You have already established that she is not a good person." the young sorceress commented upon seeing her older sisters reaction. "Anyways, she abandoned her initial plans that night and took me in. For ten years I studied at her feet. Learning everything she knew about magic. When I was learning magic from her, I was being tutored by Luthor as well as learning vast amounts of hand to hand combat from the assassin Deathstroke."
"Sounds like they wanted to make you into a tool to be used and discarded when they were done with you." Daphne commented with venom. Trying to plant a seed of distrust into her younger sister of those she worked with closely.
"Very sneaky of you dear sister." Bloom chuckled, immediately catching what she was trying to do. It was a lesson Luthor had taught her very early on. "Divide and conquer by planting the seeds of doubt within your enemy."
"That wasn't my intent." Daphne quickly lied.
"Perhaps not, I was simply giving you the benefit of the doubt." She smirked. "Now, moving on. Around this time last summer, I encountered Stella, as I had told you she was being attacked. It was her who lead me to Alfea. However, I didn't go to learn."
"What did you attend Alfea for then?" Though the specter already had an idea.
"My first purpose, discover magical artifacts to steal. Unfortunately for a place full of magic there wasn't much there. I had only found one thing worth stealing. The Book of Black, which ironically belonged to this world anyways."
"No doubt you got away with it." The specter commented, switching up her tactics and trying to boost the young girls ego. If the young sorceress caught on, she made no indication of it.
"Of course I got away with it." Bloom gloated. "Even set up the pretentious Prince from Erykalyon for the crime initially. The newspapers had a blast with that story."
"Fear not." Bloom continued. "I managed to get him released and was even nice enough to get his records cleared as well."
"How did you manage that?" The specter asked, honestly curious as to how and more importantly. Why?
"Simple, I talked three witches into taking the blame at the promise of giving them access to higher powers then which they were wielding. Of course they jumped at the chance of becoming more powerful and did as was instructed flawlessly."
"And did you give them more power?"
"Of course. Think what you want about who I am, but do not take me for someone who makes false promises. As payment for their part, I gifted them with a large selection of books from my own personal library.
It was with these books that they had discovered a spell that almost brought Alfea to ruins. You remember when Stella came to the lake, correct?"
Daphne's eyes widened in shock as the memory came to the front of her mind.
"Obviously I saved the school and was regarded a hero for my efforts. Though not really my thing, I will still use it to my advantage for the time being. But, you want to know what the real kicker is?"
"What?" The specter asked.
"It was Stella herself who found the spell and suggested it, knowing full well what it was to be used for. For a fairy of the sun that is destined to defend the world against evil, she has a very dark streak. She shows much promise in being a full on apprentice under me. Now, your turn."
Daphne swallowed as she looked to the ground beneath her. Somehow forgetting that she had agreed to this deal of telling the young sorceress more about Domino in exchange of learning a bit more about her sister. Her hopes were to discover something she could use to get her sister to see what she was doing was wrong. However, from what details she was given, there was much she could go on at this point.
"Very well, I did agree to our deal." The specter stated as she leveled her gaze back upon the young sorceress.
"As you know our kingdom was attacked." She began. "What you don't know was who was behind the attack. Three ancient witches of evil, known as the Ancestral Witches. They were after one thing, and one thing only. The Dragon Flame. The power you now hold. When they couldn't get it they froze all of Domino in everlasting stone, frozen in time."
"I want to know more about these three witches." Bloom stated, as she looked to Daphne.
"Why? So you can try to recruit them?" Daphne accused, causing Bloom to laugh.
"Hardly." Bloom laughed. "Anyone who is willing to destroy a world simply because they failed is not worthy of being within the ranks of the Legion of Doom."
This was not an answer the specter was expecting. Obviously being in an organization such at this, wouldn't her younger sister revel in the power the three witches held considering between the three of them they had managed to bring down an entire kingdom single handedly.
"I see." Was the only thing she could say initially. "First there is Belladona. Her powers mainly consist of ice she was the one who placed the curse on my transformation, putting me in this state.
Secondly, there is Lysslis. Her powers focus more on eternal darkness. She also seems to be the leader of the trio from what I had observed during their attack. Lastly, there is Tharma. She has the power of thunder and lightening."
"Just like the Trix sisters." Bloom commented, noting the similarity in powers.
"The Trix sisters?" Daphne questioned. During her isolation within the lake, she had heard of the trio of sisters that had caused much stir in the schools, but had obviously never met with them. Not that she would really want to meet with any witch regardless.
"Yes, three witches that are currently working under me. The share similar powers." Bloom answered distantly, as if deep in thought.
"Anyways, it is said that the Ancestral Witches are ancient, given their name." The specter continued. "But that is all I know of them."
"That is more then enough." The young sorceress smirked. "I know their abilities, means I can plan around what they can do."
"You can't seriously be thinking of taking on the Ancestral Witches alone!?" She exclaimed, shocked that her younger sister would even consider doing what an entire army had failed to do.
"I am serious." Bloom said as she locked eyes with her sister. "They are an obstacle in my way to claim what is rightfully mine. And just as any other obstacle, they must be removed."
Daphne was sure if she still had blood coursing through her, it would have run cold at the glint of darkness that shined in her younger sisters eyes.
"However there is a slight problem." Bloom continued. "A problem I think you can help me with."
"And whats that?"
"You see, the magical dimension seems to have cut off all information regarding the Kingdom of Domino. I am told this is to ward off would be treasure hunters, pirates and the like." She explained. "So I need to know, where is Domino?"
"Why should I tell you?" Daphne asked. Her tone defiant, yet it didn't have the same force behind it as it did moments ago.
"Why should you tell me?" The young sorceress grinned as she placed her hand upon the containment field that held her older sister. With a small fluctuation of magic, she phased through the field causing Daphne to move backwards in shock.
"Y-yes." Daphne stammered. "W-why should I tell you?"
"Because no matter what you think of how I was raised, or who raised me. You know I am the only chance you got at getting our kingdom back." Bloom explained, her voice so full of confidence. "You have yet to see the full magnitude of my magical powers. And my mother Circe is still leagues above me.
But, let us be civil about this and make a deal."
"What kind of a deal?" The specter asked, a little apprehensive of what this potential deal could entail.
"It's quite simple really." Bloom began. "I have no desire to lead a kingdom, I have larger goals that believe it or not do not revolve around world domination."
"So what do you desire?"
"Now, that's personal." Bloom chuckled. "But I may tell you in the future."
"So what do you have in mind?"
"You help us find, and take back the planet." The young red head stated. "And I will ensure you get your body back. You can claim the throne and bring the kingdom back to it's former glory or what ever. I will even use my influence on young Prince Sky of Eraklyon and Princess Stella of Solario to open new trade routes to help Domino along."
"Very generous, but whats in it for you?" Daphne asked. The deal sounded a little too good to be true. With her cooperation, she would gain a lot, but what did her younger sister gain?
"My inheritance." Bloom simply stated. "I am not talking riches. I will simply take any magical item of value from the kingdoms vaults and disappear. Pretty small price to pay considering."
Daphne narrowed her eyes slightly as she weighed the options placed before her once more. If she went along with this, she would get her body back and gain the throne of the kingdom. A chance for it to be reborn and have life breathed back into it once more. Quickly, she scoured her memory for any potential threat of any of the items that were sealed away in the families treasury years ago.
However, nothing immediately came to mind. Biting her lip in contemplation, she secretly hoped she was going to regret this later.
"Very well, the terms are agreeable." Daphne stated. "I accept."
"Good." Bloom smiled. "I knew we could be civil."
Additional Authors Notes: What!? Daphne agreed to Bloom's deal? Wonder if this is going to bite the spectral princess in her spectral rear end down the road? Only time will tell. However, please note that this does not mean that Daphne will turn evil. She was simply presented a deal that the benefits clearly out weighed any potential danger in the future.
Now, as you noticed the story is slowing down once more. This is for good reason because I intend for a lot of game changers to happen during the Winx girls and Specialist visit to earth over the course of their summer break.
Now, I was originally going to have Circe introduce herself to the others in this chapter, but I just sort of got on a roll between the conversation between Daphne and Bloom and decided to ride it out. No sense stopping the momentum.
Also, you may notice that I am no longer listing the current standings of the girls. No, voting is not over. However, I simply want to keep everyone in suspense over who is winning the votes. So, feel free to continue to cast your votes. The big reveal will be coming soon as I already have outlines lined out for who ever wins.
So keep those votes coming! And as always, feel free to leave your thoughts in the reviews!
