CHAPTER 26
AUTHORS NOTE
I being thinking in this story the hold week, where I want to go, what to write is just crazy how my ideas keep bringing back news ones and I hope good ones.
Jazz1704.- have you read my other story A New Chapter in my life? That was my first story and I have an idea for a third story, but first I want to finish this one. Did you read a lot? I read a lot of books have this kind of personal library in my house I made a custom book shield, well I didn't made, made it but is beautiful I just love how words can take you to different places, emotions and experience. If you have read some other good fanfiction let me know to check them up, I have read really good ones. One of my favorites is Locuum Teens you should check that one.
EMILY POV:
It was the day of the meet I kind of was a little bit nervous I don't gonna lie, but I was confidence that everything will be fine.
Aria: So Ezra and I will pick up your mom at the airport and see you there okay?
Emily: Okay, thank you.
Aria: Good luck Em you got this.
Emily: Thank you.
I put my stuff in my bag and went to the pool.
Coach Seal: So listen up girls today is all about you, we need to be the best team for that we only will have the eight best girl that will officially represent our university, like I said before you all will continue practicing here and is something happen to one of the official members another could fill up, so go and start warming up.
Paige: Fields a minute please.
Emily: Yeah, Coach.
Paige: So Im asking you one more time, do you want a race all styles or only two?
Emily: I think I can do I Coach.
Paige: Is a huge risk Em, I don't know in what order with be and I don't want you to burn out.
Emily: I will be fine, trust me.
Paige: Ok, just let me know if something feels weird or something.
Emily: I will.
Paige: Go and warm up Fields.
It was almost time and of course I was looking at the door to see her enter.
PAIGE POV:
Coach Seal: Well girls is time our schedule for today will be 200 mts on all the styles I hear you all gonna swim all styles so we will make two teams of eight, first breaststroke, then butterfly, then backstroke and finally freestyle each of you when you finish a race you we have 15 min to rest and back again, we wont have winners or times in the screen Coach McCullers and I well registries the times for our final decision that we will announce on Monday, you don't knew to know your times and pressure yourself you just gonna go and do your best and..
Paige: Is this speech is worrying you Miss Fields?
Emily: What?
Paige: What are you looking at?
I turn around and I see Aria, Ezra and small woman that I pretty much look like Emily.
Paige: Go, five minutes Fields.
Emily: Thanks.
Coach Seal: And go and have fun girls.
Every girl move to their places Fields is in the second team but for now she was saying hi to her mom.
Coach Seal: Be careful Paige, you are falling again.
Paige: To be true I don't think I ever stop.
It was the first time I accept that, see her smile and hug her mom and she kisses her so much like she miss her girl, make me remember my mom and how much I miss her. That day was amazing for Emily she was first in her team in all the styles and I knew she made good time to be in the team she was so happy and sometimes I catch her mom a very proud mom cheering her up.
Coach Seal: Well girls was a great day you all do your best, and this Monday I gonna put the final line up and we will vote for a Capitan team, go and rest girls, see you on Monday.
Girls: See you on Monday Coach.
Paige: Fields, when you finish a minute please.
Emily: Sure.
EMILY POV:
In the locker rooms I was so happy I knew my times were really good.
Alex: Im pretty sure you made the best times I don't know if all of style but most of them you did.
Emily: I hope so.
Alex: Don't worry Emily; you will be in the team. See you on Monday girl.
Emily: See you.
I get out of the locker room she was there waiting for me.
Paige: Hey.
Emily: Hey, so good job or bad job?
Paige: Perfect job Emily Im really proud of you. Your hard work pays off.
Emily: Our hard work, I couldn't do it without you.
Aria: Hey super start, Miss McCullers.
Paige: Montgomery, Ezra.
Emily: Mom, this is Coach Paige McCullers.
Pam Fields: Hi coach Im Pam.
Paige: Miss Fields, nice to meet you, you have a really good swimmer here.
Pam: Yeah, this girl is like a mermaid, so lunch guys to celebrate here our mermaid.
Emily: Sure.
Pam: You want a come, Ezra here told me you are his best friend, and Ezra is like a family to us too, right dear.
Ezra: Yes Pam.
Paige: I don't want to intrude.
Pam: Oh come on it will be fun to hear funny stories about Em, Aria told me you kind of train her personally.
Paige: Yeah, she was a little out of shape for the summer and Coach Seal wanted her star back so I kind of train her for a little bit.
Aria: come on, you kick her us for a while.
Emily: Sounds about right.
Pam: Emily, respect your coach, and I happy somebody can kick your ass something, so lets celebrate that too. So Miss McCullers you are in right?
Paige: Sure.
If I wasn't nervous before now it is time for me to be nervous I don't know how this gonna work out. We went to a restaurant near college my mom sit at the end of the table I sit on her side Paige next to me, Ezra in front of Paige and Aria to the other side of my mom in front of me.
PAIGE POV:
I knew this wasn't a good idea, but she is a Fields and lately I cant said no to a Fields.
Pam: So Paige. Can I call you Paige right?
Paige: Yes of course Ma´am.
Pam: And you call me Pam honey.
Paige: Okay, Pam.
Pam: So my girl here is giving you hard time?
Paige: Not really she is a good student and swimmer, not hard time.
Pam: That's good to hear. Oh beautiful ring how long have you being engaged?
Paige: Oh, yeah how long is to long?
Pam: Well honey he is a lucky guy and sometimes love is worth waiting.
Emily: Mom..
Pam: Yes Emmy.
Emily: Miss McCullers is gay.
Pam: Oh sorry I didn't know, well lucky girl then.
Paige: Yeah, don't worry.
Ezra: Actually Paige fiancée past away this summer.
Paige: EZRA!
Pam: Oh honey Im so sorry I didn't know, a friend of Emy past away this summer.
Emily: Ashley was Paige fiancée.
Pam: Oh, you were there in the cabin too, I didn't know you don't tell me anything honey.
Paige: Is okay.
Pam: Can I ask you a question Paige?
Emily: Please can you just stop.
Paige: Is okay Fields, sure Pam.
Pam: How you do it, you look relax, in peace.
Paige: Well it gets better with time, and you think she is in a better place without all the pain she had.
Pam: That's good, maybe Emy you need to listen to Paige more often, it will help you and maybe you come home more often.
Emily: Mom is this really necessary.
Paige: Why don't you go home more often?
Emily: I just prefer my mom to come visit me.
Paige: and you father?
Pam: Emily didn't told you her dad past away a couple of years ago, a heart attack and Emy kind of don't like to go home, but is okay I come to visit as possible as I can.
I didn't know this information I saw Emily look down her plate and put one hand on her leg holding it stronger so I didn't realize I made this move until my hand touch her hand and she let her leg and squeeze mine.
Pam: Well it was a really nice lunch guys ice cream anybody?
Aria: Ezra and I have to go a do some stuff we will let your luggage at the apparment, Paige you want a ride or you gonna stay.
Pam: She will stay.
Emily: Mom, maybe Miss McCullers have some plans too.
Paige: Is okay, who can say no to an ice cream I paying.
Pam: See, lets go girls.
EMILY POV:
We were waiting for my mom outside of the restaurant she need it to go to the bathroom, this day turn out to be a really good day, to a really sad day.
Paige: hey are you okay?
Emily: Yeah, sorry about that she doesn't know when to shut up.
Paige: Is okay Em, she didn't know who I was.
Emily: Yeah.
Paige: You look sad, are you sure you okay?
Emily: I hate that she saying that I don't go home because of him.
Paige: Well there is a reason, and she doesn't know what it is, so maybe just talk to her explain it to her. I don't like you to have those sad eyes, a smile for me please?
Emily: Okay, I like that you are here.
Paige: What can I said, Fields have this way of making do stuff, and I kind of like your mom she is cool.
PAM POV:
So I was right, I don't know how but I notice something between this two, that's why when I saw the engagement ring I freak me out, what was Emily doing with a girl in a relationship but now I get it, there is something well someone that connect her Ashley. And then I see her touch her face and the way she see hers, I made my way out looking at my bag so they don't think I see them.
Pam: Im ready lets go.
Paige: There is a place near here that sells the best ice cream; they have so much flavors and different than the other ones.
Pam: Sounds good, Emily?
Emily: Lets try it.
Paige: I see you still have your rings on too.
Pam: Oh darling I was married to a wonderful mam for more than 25 years, we were high school lovers too so I don't think I gonna take it ever. But you my dear are so young and you have a life ahead of you, when you are ready you will take it off and you shouldn't feel guilty about it, that ring will represent a memory, because that love will be replace in a way for a new one.
Emily: This is pretty good ice cream.
Pam: That's a way of taking the serious talking out.
We all laugh at that statement, we talk about swimming both girls face light up when they talk about swimming.
Pam: Well Paige it was great to meeting you, I know that you are doing a great job with Emy and happy somebody keep her in place.
Paige: Great to meeting too, hope to see you around soon.
Pam: Thank you.
Paige: Well Fields see you on Monday enjoy your mom and have a great weekend.
Emily: Thank you, see you on Monday.
EMILY POV:
We walk to the apartment it was a nice day and we can use the walk to talk.
Pam: So are you coming for Christmas or should I look for a fly to come?
Emily: I don't know mom is in four months can you wait a little bit?
Pam: I always do but, I don't want you to tell me last minute than you are not coming. Arias mom always receives me last minute maybe this year can be you and me or we can go to Ellas house and help her with dinner.
Emily: I will tell you next month you will have plenty of time to plan whatever we are doing.
Pam: Sounds good. You wanna go to see a movie?
Emily: Netflix at home Im tired maybe letter we can order pizza?
Pam: Good lets go.
I felt sleep during the movie on my mom legs I was so tired, I didn't felt when she move and let me there in the sofa.
ARIA POV:
Aria: She is so tired she has being working out three times at day, but thankfully it all pays off, she will have that spot on the team and she will not lose her scholarship.
Pam: So what happen? Why Emily almost lost everything?
Aria: Mmm Pam don't do this to me.
Pam: You know her, she doesn't speak about what happens to her with me she kind of think I made of glass of something.
Aria: She had a bad summer with Ashley dead and everything that I didn't notice she didn't take care of herself, I suppose to be her roommate and I should have known she wasn't eating good.
Pam: Is she okay?
Aria: Yeah, Paige took her to a doctor and make sure she was okay, she is back in shape, and she is swimming great again, she is fine now Pam, don't worry. She has more people taking care of her now here.
Pam: I saw that.
Aria: I knew you did that's why you ask about the engagement ring.
Pam: You little one are too smart for you little body. So she is good? We like her?
Aria: She is, and we do, don't worry I putting more attention this time.
Pam: Can you make her come home for Christmas this year?
Aria: I will work on it.
Pam: Thank you. So Are you gonna stay for dinner? I gonna make some Fetuccini and Emily wants so pizza for dinner.
Aria: Sounds good to me.
Pam: Perfect.
I know I shouldn't tell her but sometimes I need help with this girl, she keeps everything for herself and I cant always figure it out. The smell was amazing of course she made for the hold week, when she comes she makes food and lets us in the freezer, and I am so grateful for that.
PAIGE POV:
That night I stay home, order some Chinese food and open that folder.

… you don't realize that live does have a clock and sometimes we waist some much time doing nothing, feeling nothing, saying nothing…
…when you lose somebody that you love, is like the world is ending and you forget to look around and see other people waiting for you to live, because they love you too…
… What would happen if we know when a life is gonna end? Do we still do the same stuff, say the same stuff, or we will change it? It that will consider real or just because we are losing them we change?...
… Destiny changes our road constantly, and sometimes that hurts is like "They were best friends, lovers and soul mates destined to be together, everyone thought. But as it happened, one day destiny greedily changed its mind." But what we don't know is when a door is close somewhere is an open window, we need to find it, we need to remember that the same destiny did this for a reason and we need to find the reason.
… What is your reason? Did you find it? Now go for it, live it and be amazing, let the light shine again, I see you, can you see me now?...
It was a powerful essay about life, about finding hope, about looking for something to make you fight I didn't realize I was crying until the end of it. I knew she was right about living, about another plan that up there someone was writing, but mostly about hope, about that day you gonna be next to that person and she will ask you what did you do? Tell me you life? That night I dream about Ash, about one day I see her again and I tell her what I did here on earth.
EMILY POV:
Sunday was fun my mom made lunch we invite Ezra and of course Aria was there, she will be back home on Tuesday morning, I was nervous about tomorrow announcement, I really think I made the team but you never know.
Morning came I went to class I knew my extra training was over and if I made the team I will train with them again.
Aria: So are you mom coming to swim practice.
Emily: Yeah, she will.
Aria: That's good, maybe you two have dinner to celebrate you back on the team.
Emily: Yeah.
Aria: Why are so nervous?
Emily: I don't know, I know I did good times, but I just cant help it.
Aria: So do you think they chose you again to be the capitan team?
Emily: I just want to make it to the team that will be extra if they did.
Aria: You team loves you so I think they will. I can go and sit with you mom if you want?
Emily: Yeah, that will be cool.
Aria: Perfect so I going to my class see you on practice.
Emily: See you.
PAIGE POV:
It was a long date I didn't sleep well, to be true I don't sleep too much, that's why I used to take some pills but I became a little bit addict to those and Ash made me quit on them and now sometimes I sleep sometimes I don't.
Pam: Bad night?
Paige: Hi Pam is still one hour to practice.
Pam: Yeah I know, I didn't have anything to do and I just got tired being in the apartment alone, here is a good place to thing.
Paige: Yeah, calm and you still can hear the little movements of the water.
Pam: I wanted to thank you today.
Paige: Thank me? Why?
Pam: Aria told me what you did for Emily and her scholarship.
Paige: Oh, Im just her Coach, and we didn't want to lose our start, this semester, so I just help her a little bit.
Pam: Thanks anyway, this girl can be a little bit stubborn.
Paige: Tell me about it.
Pam: I think you are good for her.
Paige: Why is that?
Pam: Well, for start she listens to you, that is a win.
Paige: Yeah, sometimes she listens.
Pam: And I can see both of you care about each other, that's plus.
Paige: She is a good girl, great swimmer and great student.
Pam: Yeah she is.
Paige: Sorry to let you here alone but I need to get ready to practice.
Pam: Don't worry my dear, I think Aria is coming soon, maybe we can go have dinner to celebrate Emily back on the team.
Paige: How do you know she is back?
Pam: Because Im pretty sure you wont let her out of it.
Paige: She deserved that is why she is back.
Pam: Thank you dear.
I went to Coach Seal office to make the final list.
Coach Seal: You did an amazing job with her Paige, she was first in some styles and second in the other ones I think she is back and with a little bit of training she will be first again in everything, don't you think so?
Paige: Yes I do.
Coach Seal: Well Paige starting now you are the head Coach, no more personal training on your swim practice outside you can do whatever you want, I gonna assist you but you are gonna make the decisions and the lineup and everything if you want my opinion I can help you but I prefer that you stick for what you think is better okay?
Paige: Okay.
Coach Seal: Now, lets see our team.
All the girls were waiting for us, actually waiting for the results.
Coach Seal: Well girls good afternoon, today is the day you gonna find out who made the team only eight of you will be in the team, but you all will continue training with the team, at the end of the practice in this box I want you to for a team capitan all the swimmers must both I don't care if you are not on the team, and finally here Coach McCullers will be the Coach I will assist and help her, but she is the one you have to follow okay?
Girls: Yes Coach.
Coach Seal: Coach McCullers the list?
Paige: this list is the eight last names of our team the order of this list doesn't mean anything, we will work with this team for the next meeting, one week before the meeting I will put the order names and style you are gonna swim in that board, we have one meet in three weeks so be ready to swim anything if you are a specialist you need to train double. I want your free time in that pool, or running or in the gym, you know the rules drugs are not part of the team so each month I will make everybody a drug test.

Congratulations girls you are now officially part of the UPEN Swim Team, lets have a great season.
The girls were hugging each other I can see Pam Fields so happy for her girl, she was hugging Aria.
Paige: Well this is not a party so everybody in the pool right now.
Girls: Yes Coach.
Coach Seal: Now is real, they gonna hate you.
Paige: Fields didn't hate me.
Coach Seal: What can I said that girl likes to be torture.
First official practice was a little bit intense I knew that I was a hard coach different from Coach Seal and girls look so tired, well not all, Fields was like regular but she has being training with me so she is in shape for hard training I need to make the other girls in shape too.
EMILY POV:
It was an intense training well I already had a lot of them, I was so happy I made it to the team and now is turn for a vote.
Alex: She is gonna kill us.
Jordan: Fields didn't die so maybe we are safe.
Alex: What you almost die right Em?
Emily: It was hard I wont lie but you will get used to, at least we are just training here, I was training in the morning and after practice so you wont die.
Alex: Hope you don't give her ideas of and extra training.
Emily: I wont, but I don't promise she wont have them soon.
Jessica: Lets just make good training and we will be safe.
Emily: Yeah.
My vote was for Alex she was new but she was amazing in the pool so it was fair for her to be the next Capitan.
Pam: Oh, Emy Im so happy you made it. Congrats.
Aria: Congrats Em I knew you will do it.
Emily: Thank you.
Aria: Intense practice right?
Emily: Well I guess I wont have a choice anymore.
Paige: You need want a choice Fields.
Emily: Ohh, No Coach Im fine thank you.
Paige: Good, well Pam nice to meet you hope you have a great fly back home.
Pam: We are going to have some dinner if you want.
Paige: Thank you, but is my time to have that big pool for myself and train a little bit. And is just last day here with Fields better spending the time without any distraction.
Pam: Okay Paige, nice to meet you and keep an eye on this girl don't let her go to the wrong road again.
Paige: Don't worry I cant lose one of my team stars. See you tomorrow Fields, Montcomery.
Aria: Good night Miss McCullers.
I see her walk to the dressing room, things change I wont train with her in the morning but Im pretty sure she will be there when Im training just like right now if I stay late she will be training so maybe we can still spend a few more time together alone.
Emily: Well lets go Mom what about Chinese?
Pam: Of course.
PAIGE POV:
I swim for an hour then I pick up that box to count the votes, but not surprise Emily Fields got all the votes well she lose one but I get is her vote, she is the new Capitan or she still the Capitan of the team. This is gonna be a hard season.
