Rahzel stood with her arms around her waist. Link nervously paced in front of her. "You're making me nervous," she stated. Link gave her a look and stopped. Without the constant moving of Link, Rahzel's nervousness increased. She lightly tapped her foot against the stone floor.
The door swung open. "Unfortunately, Demise isn't able to attend Lady Tifunee's ball," Ghirahim said with a grin. "The Thalmas have been saddled and are ready to head off now," the noble said. Rahzel, Link, and Ghirahim left without another word.
Ghirahim looked over his shoulder nervously every couple of minutes. "What did you do?" Rahzel whispered to the seemingly jumpy noble.
Ghirahim stole a glance to her before answering, "I've taken something very important." Ghirahim led the group out of the large stone castle outside the silent walls.
"You took the Master sword?" Rahzel asked also turning around to check for any eavesdroppers.
"My lord," Vladimir's voice greeted, "My lady." Rahzel looked up to see the bird-demon holding the reins of two very large creatures. They had long canine snouts with teeth that could be seen on either side of the mouth. Their oval ears perked forward to the group that approached them. They shifted on their large clawed paws flexing and unflexing their claws. Vladimir held out his hand to Rahzel, "I'll help you up my lady."
Rahzel nodded and took the help gratefully. Using Vladimir as a brace, she pushed herself onto the beast. Rahzel grasped the creature's mane to keep from falling. Ghirahim swung himself behind her. He grabbed the creature's mane around Rahzel. "There is no need to be so tense. We are leaving the shadow realms," Ghirahim whispered into her ear. The Hylian didn't respond verbally, but loosened her grip on the creature's mane.
"Vlad," Ghirahim called drawing the servant's attention and away from the blonde Hylian who was mounting the large canine. "Keep an eye on things here. Contact me if anything happens."
Vlad took a bow, "As you wish, my lord. I pray for your safe return." The bird-demon took a bow and left the group.
Ghirahim guided the beast away from the manor. Rahzel could see Link do the same. The noble clicked his tongue and the canine barreled forward through the dark landscape.

"But mom," Midna whined with her short arms crossed in front of her chest, "I don't want to go to the surface. I prefer the twilight."
The older Twili sighed and lowered her head. The other demon noble also sighed. Midna narrowed her eyes at the male demon. He looked like he was composed of a black metal and had odd diamond shapes lining his arms and legs.
"It's a nicer place than here, young one," the female next to the demon lord said. The woman had the pointed ears of the Hylians with silver hair and crimson eyes.
"I don't care. My place is here," Midna said stomping her feet.
The Hylian woman knelt in front of the young Twili looking into her face. "You are scared. You are afraid about leaving your mother," the woman said in a calming voice. Midna was going to contradict the woman. "You know, I also had to leave my home when I wasn't ready. I fell from the islands in the sky. I can tell you that it was frightening at first, but I love the surface. I bet you would too."
Midna looked at the woman who had come down to her level and spoke so openly with her. "I suppose that it would be fine," Midna answered with a sigh.

Link sighed in relief as he felt the sun on his face and the wind through his hair. It was pleasing to be out of the shadow realms where the air was thick. He placed a single hand on the Master Sword and felt the buzzing that he associated with Fi.
The sword mistress appeared in front of him. The hero's heart warmed at the sight of her. "Master, you have need of me?" she asked a small smile on her metal lips.
"We are in need of information," Ghirahim interrupted. Fi turned to the other sword spirit. "We need to know what can defeat Demise," Ghirahim continued not noticing the look of disgust on Fi's face.
"The Triforce is the most powerful artifact known. I would suggest that we search for the pieces," Fi said.
"Where are the pieces of the Triforce?" Link asked.
Fi closed her eyes and searched through her memory files. "In the case of failure, the pieces of the Triforce was to go to the dragons to guard."
"We should go see the water dragon first," Link said, "I know her and she seemed to like me."
"Then you should be the one to get the Triforce piece then because she absolutely hates me," Ghirahim said.
Link sighed thinking She's not the only one. Link started to head toward Lake Floria. Fi floated beside him saying nothing. Behind him, the hero could hear Rahzel and Ghirahim speaking to each other. He couldn't make out the words and this fact worried him. The hero tried not to let this fear keep him from going to the dragon. He walked out on the bridge fearlessly. He looked down to the water churning below.
He turned to face the white-haired beings behind him. All at once their speech stopped. "Are either of you coming with me?" the hero asked.
"As Ghirahim said, Faron wouldn't be so happy to see us, so it would be better if you go alone," Rahzel answered tightening her grip on Ghirahim's hand. Link had forgotten that the woman was deathly afraid of water.
"Then I'll see if she would give it to me," Link said before running off the open bridge and dived gracefully. The water was cool relief from the hot sun. Link took a deep breath and dived under the water. He swam through the tunnels as he did the time before. The hero resurfaced in the dragon's chambers.
He pulled himself onto the platform dripping wet. "Ahh, young hero, I haven't seen you in a while," Faron's soft yet booming voice said. "I believed you had died."
Link rubbed the back of his neck embarrassed, "No ma'am."
The large blue dragon leaned forward. "Young child, I do not understand. I sense that a great evil has been released."
Link was intimidated by the reptile's gaze. "I failed, Faron. Zelda is dead," the hero blurted tears falling from his eyes. "Demise was revived and now there's nothing I can do," Link sobbed.
The dragon's eyes softened, "Don't blame yourself. You have done everything in your power to stop this darkness."
"That's why I need the Triforce," Link said, "with it I can destroy the darkness."
The dragon nodded her scaly head, "Of course, young child, you may have it." A little squid-creature tugged at the dragon's kimono. The dragon turned to the creature as it gave a series of swishy sounds. The blue reptiles eyes narrowed and flittered to Link. "You are working with that pompous creature, Ghirahim?" The dragon shouted.
Link backed up slowly, "No ma'am, I'm not."
The dragon began floating in the air, "How else would you be alive." Link backed up to the edge of the platform. A giant paw swung out toward him to be stopped with a metallic ring. The dragon backed up, "So still abusing your gift, are you?"
Link stared at Rahzel who lowered the black blade that looked exactly like the Master sword. "I was taught that if I don't use my gifts I'll lose them," the woman stated before regaining her fighting stance. The dragon swung her tail to attempt to hit the woman. Rahzel gracefully leaped over the appendage slicing at it as it passed. "I recommend that you join in Link, Faron isn't known for her mercy," Rahzel said dodging another attack.
Link didn't move. He just watched the two figures dance their deadly dance. Claws and sword met in a flickering of sparks. Water spouts met the wind wall Rahzel would use. The water around the platform was rising. Rahzel stole a glance at it before Faron's tail collided with her side. The Hylian grabbed the edge of the platform just before she fell into the chilling water.
Rahzel stuck the black blade into the platform. She motioned over the blade with wavering fingers. She exhaled and pulled the blade out. The albino pointed the sword skyward and the blade begun to hum with electricity. Faron growled leaping forward. The sound of fingers snapping echoed and Rahzel disappeared in a flurry of diamonds. The water dragon looked up as Rahzel dove her blade between the reptiles shoulder blades. Faron collapsed on the platform and Rahzel jumped off her perch. Turning back to the dragon, Rahzel rose the black blade above the dragon's head.
Link ran forward to stop the woman, "Rahzel, just ask for the Triforce. That's what we came for." The woman lowered her head.
"You are right, Link," Rahzel said turning giving the hero a smile. Link ran past the albino to the injured dragon's side. "Faron, please give me your piece of the Triforce. I'll rid the land of this darkness," Link whispered motioning to the Hylian behind him. Faron's clear eyelid slid over her eyes. Her breath was ragged and shallow.
"I will bestow upon you the Triforce of Courage. May it bring you the courage to face the challenging future ahead," Faron said gasping slightly. A low golden glow shone from her large paw. A hand-size triangle appeared floating above her outstretched claws. Link grabbed it in awe of its beauty. The hero placed it in his adventure pouch and turned to Rahzel.
She was kneeling over the edge of the platform her face invisible. Ghirahim knelt by her side one hand creating circles on her back. The scene was odd and Link couldn't understand what it meant. "Hey, Rahzel. We can leave she gave me the Triforce piece," Link shouted. The albino just nodded her head without saying a word.
"Go ahead, Link we'll be there in a moment. Rahzel is catching her breath," Ghirahim said getting to his feet and turning to the hero.
Link didn't have to be told twice. He dove into the water and exited the dragon's chambers.

Rahzel looked at the tiny red specks that littered where she knelt. "He is gone my sparrow," Ghirahim said placing a hand on her shoulder. Rahzel nodded and spooned water into her mouth to rid it of the coppery taste that lingered there. "I warned you not to use much magic. Your body isn't made to handle the power and will rip itself apart if you overestimate your abilities. It is a slow progress to learn to be efficient in magic."
"We don't have time for slow and steady, Ghirahim," Rahzel said getting to her feet. She wobbled slightly and Ghirahim steadied her. The Hylian nodded her thanks and begun to walk to the collapsed dragon.
The blue beast glared up at the woman. "No final words?" Rahzel asked pulling out Ghirahim's blade. The dragon growled and swiped at the woman. Ghirahim blocked the weak attack with his arm as Rahzel stepped forward. The albino brought the black blade down across the back of the reptile's head and the growling stopped.

Gabriella lowered her head in shame. She had failed again. Tears ran down her cheeks at the sight in front of her. The she-demon looked down at what used to be a Hylian. She couldn't tell what the man looked like in life, but from what she put together, she figured that he must be some sort of clown. She heard twigs breaking and quickly exited the scene.

Groose had barely missed the she-demon. Just like before, she was leaning over a corpse. No doubt drinking the blood. He watched the retreating form and swore to himself that he would kill the demon if that was the last thing he did.
A/N: If Midna was a little bratty, I apologize. I figured she would be very young during the time of Skyward Sword.
