A family visit.
Kevin pulls his '74 Cadillac Eldorado into the passenger pick up of Escobar international airport. Kevin gets out and leans up against the car holding a sign that reads Price. David and Joyce walk up to Kevin. Joyce has a roll away bag while David has an army duffel bag. Kevin opens the trunk and says "Let me help you with that." As he puts Joyce's suitcase in the trunk of the car. David takes his bag off his shoulder and places it in the trunk of the car. The group gets in the car, Joyce and David sitting in the back seat. "Yeah, I drove my Cadillac because I knew it was going to be a long ride. Why they didn't take you to Miami international, I will never know." David says "So you know Florida well?" "I don't know everywhere, but I've got a pretty good idea of the place. I know vice city, Miami, Tampa and Orlando." "So how long have you been in Florida?" Joyce asks. "A few years. Believe it or not, it's changed quite a bit."
In Shady Grove, Kevin reverses the car into the drive way. He opens the trunk as he gets out of the car. Chloe walks out the front door and into her mother's arms. Kevin takes the bags out of the trunk and leave them by the front door. "Well, I've got to get going." "Won'tcha stay?" Chloe asks looking at Kevin with big blue eyes. Kevin says "I'd love to but I need to go back to Ava."
Kevin drives back to his house and pulls into the drive way. He walks into the kitchen and sits down. He takes a look at a note that is in front of where he is sitting .
Kevin, if I am not here, probably changing. I found us a five star restaurant I wanted to dine at. Let's take my car for a change.
Ava.
Avawalks outwearing a red dress and black High heels. Ava places her hand with her freshly painted nails in Kevin's line of sight. Kevin uses her hand as path up to her eyes and they finally meet. At Dignasio's Italian restaurant. Kevin and Ava sit at a table by a window. Kevin places his hands on Ava's and looks her in the eyes. "Feels good to have some with you." "Yeah, I missed you. So what else have you been up to?" "Oh you know, this and that, overseeing the various businesses." "So, you think Mike has seen his in laws?" "I sure hope so." "Can I ask you, what do you think about David? Chloe talks about him like he's the antichrist." Kevin Sighs and says "That's a tuff one. On one hand he wants what's good for his daughter..." "So does Pakie. That's why he left Los Santos. But he's not abusive." "David, he suffers from stubbornness,a short fuse and the military service didn't help him out at all. Then you want to throw a conservative religion in there. Some cake you get with those ingredients."
The next morning Ava wakes up and walks down to the kitchen to find Dwayne Forge, Lamar, Nikeo, Pakie and Sasha at the table. Kevin is standing at the stove. Ava clears her throat. Everyone says "Happy Birthday Ava." Kevin walks up to Ava and hugs her. He whispers in her ear "I know this isn't ideal..." "Baby, this is perfect." After the group has left Ava sits in the kitchen at the island with a bouquet of roses, a watch, necklace and a stack of money. Kevin says "I tried to tell them not to, but they wouldn't take no for an answer." Ava says"Will you stop making excuses. It's nice, they treat us like family. I will never miss that. So are we going to go spend time with Chloe and family?" "Wow, you are perfect for me. Yeah."
At Drew's Café, the group sits in a large booth. David says "So, what do you do for a living Kevin?" "I am a venture capitalist. I invest..." "You invest in a business. They pay you an agreed upon sum of money. I know how that works." "Yeah, it's a good job when you can get it. I helped start the shop where Mike works." David looks over at Mike. Joyce grabs David's leg and changes the subject by asking Chloe "So Chloe, I don't think I've asked you. How do you like Florida?" Chloe says"I like it."
Inside the king ranch, Ava says "Most awkward dinner ever. That dick has the audacity to say you owe Mike something. That fucking ass..." Kevin kisses Ava, breaks and says "Calm down. He doesn't know that Mike really works for me and that I wouldn't let him out to dry like that." Ava says Why you stick up for him like that, I'll never know." Kevin's phone rings. Kevin puts it on Bluetooth. "Hey Chloe." Chloe says "Hey, sorry about Sargent Dick head, I know what's really going on between you and Mike. Plus you've helped me out so many times." Ava jumps in and says "Good thing you got away from him." Kevin says "Damn girls, tells how you really feel." "David is just jealous of anyone who is successful. He doesn't like the fact that I can stay home while he and Joyce have to work." "He's probably not going to like the two grand that I put in the front pocket of Joyce's luggage." "You fucking didn't!" "Look I got it to give. Just say it cane from you." Chloe says "Ava did you know about this?" "Kevin is extremely charitable, that's one reason why I love him. My mom almost never gets time to herself, between the diner and being chained to David. I'm curious to see Joyce gone wild." Kevin makes a face. Ava punches him in the arm and says "not like that you pervert." "Oh no Ava, sounds like Kevin likes them older. See you two tomorrow."
Later that night at Kevin's house. Kevin pulls up in his BMW three series. Kevin sits at the bar and drinks. Mike walks up to Kevin and says I'll have what your drinking." Kevin goes behind the bar and says "I guess it's David." "Yeah, he has no right to treat you that way. We're square man. Shit you bought me the house, helped me move from Chicago, got me the car I drove over in. Hell, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be marring his STEP-daughter." Kevin hands Mike the drink. "I can't let you drive after this man. I'll take you home on my boat, okay?" "Sure, thanks I need to vent and I don't want to hurt Chlo's feelings." "That girls got the thickest skin and nerves of steel man. I don't think we could offend her at all." After a few rounds of drinks Mike starts to fall asleep. "Hey man, I don't think you want to crash here. I don't know about Chloe, but I pretty sure David will be on your ass and Joyce will be concerned." Mike says "FUCK DAVID!" Belligerently. Outside Kevin walks Mike up the Dock and on a bed, Kevin walks out of the cabin and up the stairs to the boat controls.
At Mike's house, Kevin walks Mike up the dock and through the back door. David sneaks up quietly behind Kevin and Mike. Kevin turns around and says "Mike had a little to much to drink so I brought him back here." "Oh, well that's good. Thank You. When your done, can I… can I talk to you?" "Yeah let just get Mike up to bed." Kevin walks Mike up the stairs and puts him down on the bed. He walks down stairs an sees David looking out the back door. "So, you wanted to talk to me. Why don't we go on to the dock.
Kevin and David walk down to Kevin's boat. "So I know I seem like a hard ass, but I care for Mike and of coarse Chloe." "I realize that man. I'm the one who encouraged Mike to move here." "And Chloe? I know. You pushed her towards Mike. I thank you. I tried to help her but she wouldn't listen. I love her." Kevin says "I know where this is going. Look David I don't have a problem with you. I'm on your side. I don't take offense." Kevin walks on to his boat and says "I'll say you tomorrow." Kevin starts the boat and drives off.
At Kevin's house he docks the boat, he walks up the dock and in to his house. Kevin walks past the kitchen and sees Sasha. Sasha turns and says "What's going on Kevin? Ava said something about a friend of yours is having in law problems." "Yeah, Mike's faience's dad is a bit of a hard ass. She and him have been on rough terms since she was a teenager. She and I see eye to eye and same with her father. We just had a sort of heart to heart." Sasha says "Wow, bit of a contrast. Just play it cool and it'll all work out for the better."
The next morning, Kevin gets in Mike's car and drives to his house. David and Mike stand outside of the house. Kevin gets out of the car. "Ava stopped by already. They all went out." Mike gets in and start driving. "David I got a surprise for you when we get to where we're going." Mike says with a grin.
At Vice shooting range Mike opens the trunk and pulls out a blue case out. "Check this out when we get in there." The three men walk into the range and David opens the case to reveal the antique shotgun. "Holy shit where'd you get this?" "A friend of a friend." Mike says"You got to try it out." David takes gun and walks up to the barrier. The target appears and David takes his shot. David hands Mike the gun and says "Take a shot." Mike takes a shot and hits the card board cut out in the head. David says "God damn. I owe you a drink. One for you Kevin if you can do that Mike hands Kevin the shot gun. Kevin loads the gun and shoot two targets in the head. "Hot damn, where'd you learn that?" "Years of practice. So about that drink? Want it at my house?" David scoffs and says "What fun is that? Take me to your bar?"
At journeys The three men walk in and sit at the bar. David says "Three whisky doubles." Kevin says "How are things Tyler?" After making the drinks he says" They are good. I can't say anything else with you as my main investor."
At Kevin's house. Kevin walks through the door and Ava says "So how was your time?" "Good. Yours?" "Good. You know they're having a church wedding?" "Yeah, why?" "No reason. We went out to shop and Chloe's mom kept trying to hold back tears of joy. She said 'She was glad to see her truly happy." "David was impressed with Mike and his skilled shooting. He's starting relax." "About fucking time."
