Chapter 26: Night of the Undead and the SecDef's plan.

"Alright boys, we've got new orders in from the top" Sergeant Tank Dempsey told his squad as he entered the tent, holding up a sheet of paper.

"What have we got boss?" Private Peter Allen asked, sitting up from his bunk.

"Rescue mission, a guy called Peter McCain. Somebody wake Wallace up this is important" Dempsey answered, walking over to a table to sit down and look at the piece of paper, while giving one of his men, who was asleep, a scowl.

"Adam wake up you lazy bastard, Sarge has got some intel for us" Corporal Richard Newton snapped as he kicked the sleeping Private awake.

"Huh, I'm awake, I'm awake!" Wallace grunted dozily as he sat up.

"Alright now that everyone is awake I'll continue" Dempsey smiled, looking at his squad; "So Command wants us to go rescue this guy, Doctor Peter McCain, who by the looks of things has gotten himself involved in some top secret shit" he flicked the piece of paper; "This says that Peter's handler, a guy called Cornelius Pernell, who'll be joining us on the mission will tell us more about Peter when he gets here in about six hours' time"

"So where is it this Peter needs rescuing from?" Private Chris Turner asked, lighting up a cigarette.

"Please don't be in Japan; I've had enough of these godforsaken islands!" Allen begged, wiping the sweat off his forehead.

"Quit whining Allen! Sarge has been through worse shit on Peleliu, during the early raids, than the rest of us put together" Newton snapped at the Private.

"So boss, where is it we're going?" Wallace asked over the two arguing soldiers.

Dempsey put on a serious face that meant he wasn't joking; "Deep behind enemy lines... in Nazi Germany"

"Watch out!"

"Their everywhere!"

"Arrrghhh"

Dempsey woke up with a start, jerking up, cold sweat rolling down his forehead, breathing rapidly.

"You ok Dempsey?" Daniel asked, sounding half asleep, but sitting up slightly none the less.

"Yeah, I'm fine... go back to sleep" Dempsey answered reassuringly. Daniel nodded, and then slumped down falling asleep again. Dempsey sighed, rubbing his hands into his face, and then shaking his head he stood up and walked out of the encampment.

After a day and a half's traveling since Doctor Maxis had revealed what had happened in Northern France the team had settled down for the night in a small glade of trees not too far from the road. Despite not wanting to travel on the road, Price had insisted that they didn't stray too far from it. Rosie had said that another day's travel should see them at the border of Russia.

As Dempsey walked out of the glade of trees they were using as shelter he gave a stretch. They were fortunate for a decent spring night, where it wasn't too cold. As there were nearly sixty of them not everyone could share tents or even sleeping bags, so some, like Dempsey, had to sleep outside against a tree or a rock.

The Marine walked over to Sgt. Sullivan, Paul Jackson and Mike Harper who were keeping watch.

"Alright my man" Harper greeted, holding his fist up.

"Hi guys" Dempsey nodded, fist pounding Harper; "Look I can't sleep, so do one of you want to go catch some before morning?"

"Jackson can go, he's been up longer than us" Sullivan suggested.

"Alright then, go on sunshine, I'll take over" Dempsey told the young soldier.

"Cheers mate. See you in a few hours" Jackson said looking grateful as he stood up and walked over to the glade.

"What's up with you?" Harper asked, seeing Dempsey's troubled face as he sat down.

"I dunno, just a bad dream I guess" the American shrugged; "except it feels like it's my past. Ever since Maxis told us about what happened in Northern France, I've been having strange dreams that feel like memories. Maybe they are I don't know"

"Humph, you've experienced stranger shit than us in your past, with zombies and shit like that, so maybe you are remembering memories you've forgotten" Sullivan mused; "In any case I wouldn't worry about it. Dawn is only a couple of hours away"

"Yeah man, try not to think about it" Harper slapped Dempsey on the shoulder as he stood up; "I'm gonna scout around the area"

As Harper walked away, Dempsey found himself thinking more and more about his dreams.

"Doctor Peter McCain" Sergeant Cornelius Pernell began as he and Tank Dempsey's squad were being transported to Germany via airplane at night so to avoid detection; "the man was sent by the American government to infiltrate a top secret science group known as Group 935, and to spy on them. Now gentlemen, I must say that what I am about to tell you is of the utmost secrecy"

"We understand Sergeant Pernell, and we understand the risk of breaking that secrecy" Dempsey reassured Pernell.

"Alright then. I'll tell you a bit more about the group then" Pernell nodded; "Group 935 is led by a man named Doctor Ludvig Maxis, its founder. The group, although German lead, hired scientists and geniuses from all across the world to help with their work. 'To improve the human condition' that is their motto. Peter was sent to join 935 as a secret spy for the government. I personally handled the data he was smuggling us and gave his orders. During his time there Peter work on various small projects, while maintaining a low profile and working up the ranks and gaining trust. He worked on the development of beverages that can enhance a man's abilities called 'Perk-a-Colas'. He told us that the reason 935 is able to make these incredible experiments is because of an element with strange abilities called Divinium, or Element 115. 935 is the only scientific group that has managed to harness the element in such a way"

"All this scientific shit sounds insane" Allen grumbled, rubbing his temples.

"There's more Private" Pernell smiled gravely; "Peter told us that 935 began experimenting with weaponry and super soldier programs for some reason. He suspected that Doctor Maxis had made a deal outside of 935 and in exchange the group would provide weapons. Now our fear was that it was with the Nazi party, but we had no evidence for it. Peter began overseeing the construction of a device they called the 'Pack-a-Punch' machine, which had the power to upgrade a weapon far beyond its normal capabilities. Peter told us that the Assistant of Maxis, a Edward Richtofen, has created a weapon that could change the outcome of the war; the Wunderwaffe DG-2. He said the weapon was nothing we had ever seen before"

"So I'm guessing that rescuing Peter isn't our only objective?" Dempsey asked, lighting up a cigarette and taking a puff.

"You'd guess right" Pernell answered; "As well as rescuing Peter; we are to secure Doctors Maxis and Richtofen and bring them back for interrogation, especially now as we have intel that the pair are working on machines, that can transport a man from one place to the next in a blink of an eye, called Teleporters"

"Shit! What the hell are they gonna think up next?" Turner asked, looking stunned.

"So where is Peter now?" Dempsey asked, taking another drag from his cigarette.

"Peter's last assignment, by Maxis, before we lost contact with him was to go to Wittenau Sanatorium, Berlin, and work on a super soldier programme there. We don't know what happened there, but Peter's last message to us was '115 dangerous!.. send help!.. Beware the dead..."

"Beware the dead? What does that mea-..." Newton began but was cut off when an explosion tore into the front of the plane, killing the two pilots.

"Ah fuck! German anti-aircraft guns have zoned in on us! Hold on boys we're going down!" Dempsey yelled as the plane descended quicker and quicker.

"Dempsey!"

"Dempsey!"

"DEMPSEY!"

"Dempsey!" Harper said as he snapped his fingers in front of the Marine's face.

"Hmm what?" Dempsey asked abstractly, shaking his head slightly and then looking at Harper.

"You ok man? You looked like you were daydreaming" Harper told the soldier, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Were you remembering more of your past?" Sullivan asked, walking over to the pair.

"Yeah, and I'm certain more than ever now that it's a memory" Dempsey nodded.

"Well I guess you'll remember more as time passes" Sullivan shrugged; "however at the moment, the sun is coming up, so let's go wake the others"

A few hours later and the team were well on the move, making a steady pace through Belarus. The day was uneventful, with no trouble from Samantha or her forces.

"Rosie care to fill us in with the daily update?" Evan asked his sister.

"Sure" Rosie shrugged, fulfilling her usual routine of tapping away at her Tech Buddy to find out what the news was in the world; "Ok then, so nothing new with Samantha's armies, still continuing its advance across Europe, Germany has fallen, and Norway and Sweden have also fallen. Sam's forces are beginning to march into Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Poland is getting invaded from the north, south and west, so we had better reach Russia before they arrive in Belarus. Uh to the south Florence in Italy fell yesterday, and Sam's forces are marching through the rest of the country and are nearly at Rome, and they have also reached as far as Greece and Romania. Also north-west Africa is falling rapidly"

"What about the rest of the world?" Evan asked.

"Hmm, well America is still bracing itself for another attack" Rosie answered, tapping away at the Tech buddy; "Sam has sent off another attack fleet in the direction of the States. China, North Korea, and Russia have all closed their borders"

"Hmm that could prove a problem when we eventually get to Russia" Price pulled a face.

"Not only that, but President Putin has ordered Russian forces to mobilize towards the Russian border, and, holy shit! He's also ordered that they march into Finland, Ukraine, and other countries along Russia's western border, including Belarus!"

"He what!?" Lara asked, stunned.

"He's claiming that it is to reinforce those countries" Rosie told them, a scowl on her face.

"Bollocks! He's been waiting for an opportunity to show Russia's strength" Evan spat; "Putin isn't marching Russian forces into those countries to help them, he's going to fight Samantha for control over them!"

"And without NATO to keep Russia in check, there's nothing stopping them" Lara added.

"Sounds like a bit of a madman if you ask me" Dempsey, who was walking a few paces behind them, quipped.

"This could prove a very big problem indeed" Price sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose out of stress; "Let's hope we can talk some sense into him, and get him to help us defeat Samantha"

"Actually Captain, I think I have a strategy that we can use against the girl" Robert McNamara stated, walking up to the British Captain.

"Alright then, let's hear it" Price raised an eyebrow, genuinely interested.

As McNamara began to tell Price of his plan, Dempsey found that he couldn't focus, and found himself thinking back to his past.

"Argh, is everyone alright!?" Dempsey coughed as he picked himself up from the ground, he heard no reply though.

"Shit..." the Marine muttered, looking at the burning wreck of the plane he and his team were traveling in. He looked round and saw what looked like the Silhouette of a ruined bunker. He looked up and saw that the moon was currently hidden behind a cloud, concealing the rest of the area.

"Argh fuck!" Dempsey heard a voice which sounded like Cornelius Pernell's.

"Pernell, over here" Dempsey called.

"Sergeant is that you?" Pernell asked, walking over to the soldier.

"Yeah it me" Dempsey responded; "hey is anyone else still alive!?" He shouted. There were a few moans and grunts of confirmation.

"Look, everyone head to that bunker over there, we'll do a head count!" Dempsey shouted so that everyone could hear him. He and Pernell made a move for the ruined bunker. Dempsey couldn't help but have a bad feeling about the whole situation.

Private Peter Allen's eyes flickered for a second, briefly seeing the wreck of the plane and the moon slowly coming out from behind the clouds.

'What happened?" He thought to himself. He felt a pain in his leg, and head. He suddenly heard the voices of what must have been his comrades.

Eyes snapping open again, he was about to call out to them, but something else caught his attention.

In the distance, coming slowly out of the fog was what appeared to be an army of shadowy figures.

'Shit the German's are here probably to check out the wreck' Allen thought panicking. He then saw how they were moving. Not the march or strict movement of a soldier, no these were stumbling and shuffling randomly.

Allen tried propping himself up on his elbow, but slumped down because of the pain. He shut his eyes for a second letting the pain subside.

Opening his eyes again, his stomach dropped as he saw one of the figures sprinting towards him. Horror fully struck him as he saw the figures features, including a pair of glowing yellow eyes.

"Alright is everyone here?" Dempsey asked, more to himself, looking around; "Pernell, Newton, Wallace, Turner... wait where's Allen?" He asked spotting that the Private wasn't amongst them.

It was at that moment the five of them heard a blood curdling scream pierce the still night air that raised the hair on each of the men's necks. The scream felt like it would go on eternally, but was suddenly cut off.

"Uh guys... I don't like this" Wallace muttered nervously, hands shaking as he and the others grabbed their pistols.

Dempsey moved over to a window that had been boarded up to have a look outside. He saw a couple of trucks, with a few explosive barrels around them. Suddenly movement caught his eye. A lone figure came stumbling aimlessly out of the fog.

"Hey Allen, is that you?" Dempsey called cautiously, aiming his M1911 at the figure just in case it was an enemy. The figure stopped, and turned to face the Marine.

Dempsey was confused to see a pair of glowing yellow eyes looking right at him. Suddenly an unearthly cry came from the figure, echoing through the night. The cry was answered by numerous other cries in the thick fog.

"What the hell is that!?" Wallace asked panicked.

Dempsey's eyes widened as the figure began to sprint straight for him. Dempsey was shocked when the figure leapt with unnatural strength through the wooden boards of the window and on top of him, forcing him to the ground.

"Argh, shit!" Dempsey grunted, struggling to hold the creature back. He saw that it looked human, but its features were rotting and a stench of decay was about it. Broken and jagged teeth trying to tear into the American. Its two glowing yellow eyes fixed hungrily on him.

"Get off of him!" Newton yelled at the monster, kicking it of Dempsey.

The creature writhed on the ground as Dempsey got to his feet.

"Kill it!" Dempsey ordered. He and Newton fired half a clip of their pistols each into the beast. The yellow eyes faded and the creature went limp.

"What the hell was that?" Turner asked, walking over and nudging the corpse with his foot.

"I think it may have been human once" Pernell stated, examining the body; "decomposing flesh, and clothes, decaying stench, hunger for the living... I think gentlemen we have found out what Peter meant in his last message "beware the dead"."

"What are you talking about?" Dempsey snapped.

"I think that this thing was dead, but it was brought back to life, as a zombie Look it has a Nazi uniform on" Pernell explained pointing out the faded swastika arm band on the body's arm.

"Zombies? What that's impossible!" Dempsey scoffed.

"Peter said that 935 was working on a top secret project that only Doctor Maxis and his closest were working on" Pernell explained; "he said that there were shipments that reeked of death, but he could never see what was inside them"

"So this group has created Nazi zombies!?" Wallace asked looking frightened.

"I wouldn't be surprised" Pernell said grimly.

"Wait Allen is still out there, we need to help him" Turner told the others.

"I don't think Allen is alive anymore Tuner" Newton told the Private morbidly; "that scream we heard sounded very human"

"Guys we have contact!" Wallace cried, spotting more zombies shuffling out of the fog on all sides.

"Shit, alright everyone to a window now!" Dempsey ordered, walking over to his broken window.

Pernell took a window behind Dempsey's, besides a set of ruined stairs. Wallace and Turner took two windows at the back of the building, and Newton stationed himself at a window a few feet away from a door that had 'HELP' drawn on it.

As the zombies drew closer to the windows the team could hear their hellish moans.

"Everyone fire at will!" Dempsey shouted firing his pistol into three walking corpses, cutting them down.

"Got one!" Turner cried triumphantly from his window.

"Take that shit for brains!" Wallace yelled at a zombie that had reached his window, slamming his knife into its skull.

"What the hell has Peter gotten himself into!?" Pernell demanded, firing his pistol at an explosive barrel, blowing it up and killing a couple of zombies.

Dempsey saw one last zombie and shot it down. Music filled the air and then there was silence.

"Is that all of them?" Newton asked timidly. His question was answered when the moans of the zombies pierced through the night again.

"Nope, here they come again!" Dempsey told them, loading a fresh clip into his pistol.

After fighting off a couple more waves of zombies, the team began to realise that their ammo was running low.

"Shit I'm out!" Turner cursed, throwing down his pistol, and backing away from the window he was guarding as the zombies tore into the wooden barriers across it.

"Jeez their all over the place!" Wallace cried, backing away from his window too.

"What do we do n-..." Pernell began to ask Dempsey, but stopped when he saw a chalk drawing of the outline of a weapon on the wall beside the Sergeant; "was that there before?" He asked walking over to it.

"What does it matter, we gotta get out of here!" Wallace snapped as he and Turner back away from the group of zombies that had broken through their windows and were bearing down on them.

Ignoring them, Pernell reached out for the drawing; "Whoa!" He gasped as a M1A1 Carbine materialized in his hands; "guys the chalk drawings give you weapons!" He told the others, aiming his new Carbine at the hordes of zombies about to tear into Wallace and Turner and fired into them.

"Alright, everyone grab a weapon!" Dempsey grinned, taking up a Carbine himself and helping out Pernell. Soon the whole team had grabbed one of the chalk drawings, Newton himself grabbing a Kar98k from another drawing. With their new weapons the Americans wiped out the current wave of zombies.

"Let's get these windows boarded up while we have a minute" Dempsey told the others, picking up a hammer and walking over to his window. He stopped dead however when he saw what was in front of him.

"Keep fighting!"

"Dont leave me!"

"Let's push the bastards back!"

"Alright then, let's hear it" Price raised an eyebrow, genuinely interested in McNamara's plan to thwart Samantha.

"Ok, now the kinks still need to be hammered out, but what I have will be a good base for a counter attack" McNamara told the Captain.

"That's fine, we haven't got anything at the moment so a plan will be good to hear" Price reassured the Secretary of Defence.

"Right, well I propose that we use the size of Samantha's force against her" McNamara stated with a smile. Seeing the confusion in Price's face, the American Politician continued to explain; "Samantha's army is made up of a multiple and diverse leadership, with her being the supreme commander and leader of the others. Now Samantha will expect any form of attack against her herself, and so she has built up her defences and offensives to protect herself. She will also suspect an attack from us against her Generals, such as Shepherd, Dragovich, and the others, and so she has provided them the strength they need to counter us. But what happens if they turn on each other, not necessarily against Samantha, but what if something caused them to turn against each other?"

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" Price smiled as he realised the Secretary of Defence's plan.

"A civil war" McNamara confirmed with a smile; "the likes of Makarov would turn on Shepherd without a second thought, and then the others would follow suit like dominoes. Rosie, your abilities would come in very useful here"

"My abilities?" Rosie asked looking confused.

"You mean for Rosie to hack into ze enemy electronics and plant false messages zhat vould cause them to turn on each other?" Doctor Maxis' voice questioned from the Tech buddy.

"Exactly! With Rosie technical expertise she'll be able to hack into the enemy servers with ease" McNamara grinned, clapping a hand on Rosie's shoulder.

"Awesome, and while they fight and weaken each other, we'll build up our strength and then launch a counter attack while their down" Rosie chimed sounding impressed.

"If we can get Russia, America, and China, the three remaining super powers to contend with Samantha, to form a united offence then we can launch our counter attack" McNamara added.

"So this plan hinges on Russia's cooperation, and if all three countries can hold out against Samantha long enough for us to initiate the attack" Price sighed scratching his bearded chin.

"Indeed, but at the moment it's the best we've got" McNamara shrugged.

"It's a good plan, well done" Price smiled reassuringly, shaking the politician's hand.

Rosie grinned, happy that they finally had a plan to fight Samantha.

"You seem to be in a good mood" Maxis observed, with a hint of amusement in his voice.

"I'm just glad we have a strategy that we can use to fight Samantha" Rosie explained to the Scientist.

"Hmm yes this is good, but ve still need to be wary. Ve don't know the full extent of Samantha's powers" Maxis warned.

"You've never been optimistic have you Maxis" Rosie laughed. She then noticed the blank look in Dempsey's eye; "Yo Dempsey, you ok?" She asked the American, poking his arm.

"Hmm yeah sorry, what'd I miss?" Dempsey grunted, sounding like he was coming out of a trance.

"Uh McNamara has a strategy to fight Samantha" Rosie informed the Marine.

"Really? Sweet. Just tell me where I gotta shoot oorah" Dempsey grinned raising his upgraded Galil.

"You sure you're ok? I mean you were staring off into space, like something was bothering you" Rosie asked, still concerned.

"Uh yeah... just remembering back" Dempsey answered scratched the back of his head. He proceeded to explain the memories he had been having to the Hacker.

"Hmm that's odd... hey Evan what's the name of the first zombies map?" Rosie asked her brother.

"Nacht Der Untoten, why?" Evan answered.

"Dempsey here is having memories from his past and from his description of it, it sounds likes he was at Nacht" Rosie explained.

"It appears zhat you are beginning to remember vhat happened before you allied yourself with Richtofen, Takeo, and Nikolai to fight ze zombies" Maxis told Dempsey.

"There is more that needs to be unlocked. Time will show you that which you have forgotten" Takeo, who was walking nearby, muttered cryptically.

"Wait, do you remember what happened before Shi No Numa Tak?" Dempsey asked the Samurai.

"Yes, but I cannot help you Dempsey. You must remember your past on your own" Takeo answered.

"Ah well, no point worrying about it" Dempsey yawned, stretching; "when we gonna get some food?"

After eating the team continued their journey until evening came, then they decided to call it a day and made camp.

"By my calculations we should reach the Russian border before tomorrow afternoon" Rosie yawned, putting down her Tech Buddy, and leaning against Daniel.

"Good, it's been a long time coming" Daniel sighed happily. He looked round at the rest of the camp. He saw Price, McNamara, Soap, Foley, Mason, and Sandman all in deep discussion about Samantha's army, plans for a counter attack and how they will convince Putin to join with America and China to fight back against the little girl. Nearby he saw Evan, Lara and Sadie with Richtofen, who was trying to explain how the teleporters worked. Dunn and Jackson, who were sitting next to the trio, were looking comically confused at the German's scientific talk. Daniel then looked over and saw Gaz and Castro bickering again. Reznov was watching them, looking as grumpy as ever. Dimitri, Polonsky, Miller, Harper and Roach were chatting happily about themselves and their experiences. Daniel finally looked to the group of people with him. Rosie was now asleep, leaning against him, Tech buddy on her lap. Takeo was polishing his katana opposite him. Misty was talking with Yuri and Marlton about the closest call they had had.

"How's it going?" Dempsey asked, taking a seat next to the trainee soldier.

"Not bad, not bad, just watching everyone" Daniel chuckle; "How's you?"

"Yeah I'm good, just wish my past wasn't such a mystery" Dempsey sighed, laying back, looking up at the stars.

"I'm sure it'll all make sense eventually" Daniel yawned tiredly.

"Yeah..." Dempsey muttered.

A few hours past and Dempsey was still staring up into the nights sky, trying to piece his past together. The others had long since fallen asleep, save for the lookouts who changed every two hours.

Dempsey decided to give up and allow himself to fall into sleep.

"Allen!" Wallace gasped as the team turned to see what Dempsey was staring at.

The Sergeant's stomach turned as it was indeed Private Peter Allen. However what stood before them now was not the same man that the team had known before. His skin had gone a deathly grey, his clothes torn, he was missing his right arm and entrails were spilling out of his stomach, his jugular had been ripped out, and his eyes were a hungry glowing yellow.

"Not you too!" Newton choked as the zombified Allen let out a guttural moan as it stumbled forward.

"Allen, stay back, I'm warning you" Dempsey ordered the zombie, aiming his Carbine at its head.

"Sarge you can't, it's Allen!" Turner protested.

"That's not Allen anymore Turner" Pernell grimace, looking at the disfigured walking corpse.

The zombie Allen let out a loud roar and began B-lining for Dempsey.

"I'm sorry" was all Dempsey could bring himself to say before pulling the trigger of his rifle and blowing the zombie's brains out. Dempsey walked over to the body and took Allen's name tags.

"Shit here comes more of them!" Pernell cried as more zombies began climbing through the windows. The rest of the team had no time to mourn the loss of Allen as they began to fight back the next wave of undead.

Dempsey shot down a zombie that was a couple of feet away. In its place was a floating golden object with a green glow about it. It looked like some sort of rocket. Curious the Marine walked over to it and stretched his hand towards it.

"KABOOM" a disembodied voice hissed as the nuke power up disappeared. All around the vicinity zombies ignited into flames and their heads exploded.

"Ah sweet bombs galore" Dempsey grinned, as the wave ending music played eerily.

"This shit is getting weirder and weirder" Turner shook his head. After fighting a few more waves of zombies the team began to realise that there weapons were becoming obsolete.

"Shit this thing ain't doing anything now!" Wallace cursed looking from his Carbine to the hoard of zombies bearing down on them.

"Let's get out of here" Newton told them, kicking down the 'HELP' door. The group ran through into a dark room, with a set of stairs that was blocked by a sofa.

"Hey look more of those drawings!" Pernell pointed at two chalk drawings either side of a window at the end of the room. They all rushed over to the drawings and claimed a weapon each. Dempsey, Newton, Wallace taking a Thompson, and Turner and Pernell both took a Double barrelled Shotgun. Turning back to the hoard the team unleashed a storm of bullets into the mob. Turner and Pernell blasted zombies that were climbing through the windows with their Shotguns sending rotting meat almost ten feet back outside.

As Newton, Dempsey, and Wallace pushed the zombies back into the previous room, Newton noticed a strange rectangular box, with glowing question marks on it, in the corner of the room. While the other two finished off the remaining zombies the American walked over to the box and lifted the lid, and was shocked when a cheery jingle played as various weapons cycled in the box, slowing to stop on an MG42 LMG.

"Woah, hey guys check this out" Newton grinned swapping his Kar98k with the larger German weapon.

Dempsey span for a box and received a strange looking pistol that looked like a toy; "the fuck is this?" He asked aloud, swapping the gun for his Carbine.

"I don't know, I'll have a go at the box too" Pernell shrugged, spinning for a weapon and landing an MP40; "heh let's push the bastards back" he smiled.

"Guy's shouldn't we think about getting out of here?" Wallace asked, leaning against a wall, while Dempsey was trying out his new Ray Gun out sending green plasma into the last remaining zombies.

"Wallace is right, we can use one of those trucks to take us to Wittenau Sanatorium" Pernell agreed, putting his MP40 on his back.

"Wait! We're still going to continue with the mission after all the shit we've been thro-...arrrghhhn!" Wallace began but cried out when a group of zombies broke through the wall he was leaning against and grabbed him.

"Wallace no!" Dempsey cried as one of the zombies bit into the Private's neck. The sound of flesh being torn and bone crunching combined with Wallace's agonized screaming was almost unbearable to listen to as the others could do nothing but watch their friend become a meal for the zombies.

"I ain't turning like Allen you sons of bitches!" Wallace choked, blood leaking from the wound in his neck, and his mouth. Taking a grenade from his waist he pulled the pin and held it close. The others looked away as the grenade detonated, killing Wallace and the zombies around him, and collapsing the tunnel behind the broken wall.

Pernell, Turner, Newton, and Dempsey just stood there, stunned at their comrade's demise. Dempsey particularly felt pain as well, another of his men lost, and for what?

They were brought back when they heard the cries of more zombies as a fresh wave began.

"Everyone upstairs, move!" Dempsey ordered, seeing that both downstairs rooms were filling up rapidly with zombies. He blasted the rotting sofa that was blocking the stairs out of the way with his Ray Gun. The remaining four soldiers ran up the stairs and into a room with the ruined stairs that lead back down to the room below.

Dempsey ran over to the balcony and looked down at one of the trucks down below.

"Turner, Pernell, jump down and get that truck started! Newton and I will hold back these freakbags!" Dempsey yelled as he and Newton fired into the zombie mass running after them.

Turner and Pernell jumped off the building and onto the truck. Turner climbed into the driver's seat and Pernell covered him with his Shotgun. Turner turned the truck on and pushed the horn to let the two on top of the building know that it was time to go.

Dempsey and Newton both leapt off the building and joining Pernell in the back of the truck.

"Drive!" Newton yelled to Tuner, slamming his hand on the roof above the driver, as Dempsey and Pernell held back the zombies surrounding them with their Ray Gun and MP40 respectively.

Turner floored the accelerator, driving the truck forward, running over a few zombies and smashing through the fence. The zombies soon fell far behind as the team drove away from the bunker.

"Do you hear that?" Newton asked suddenly hearing a sound in the air.

"Shit that sounds like German planes! Turner kill the lights!" Dempsey told the driver, who turned off the trucks headlights. At that moment two German planes flew overhead, Dempsey managed to spot a logo on the side of a fist holding and atom, with 935 in the centre. The two aircrafts flew towards the ruined bunker, and a couple of seconds later a few plumes of fire lit up the night and the sound of explosions filled the air, signifying that the planes had dropped bombs on the site, probably killing a large number of zombies in the process.

"Phew, that was close... so what now?" Newton asked as the truck gained distance from the nightmarish battlefield.

"We won't let Allen and Wallace's sacrifices go in vain... we continue with the mission. To Wittenau Sanatorium" Dempsey answered firmly. He then turned and stared at the moon.

"...but I'm almost out of hope"

Dempsey was woken up by a light shining in his face. A noise filled the air, along with shouting, and a fierce wind was causing the trees to rustle. The Marine's eyes widened as he realised that the noise was the sound of helicopter blades and the light was search lights. He scrambled to his feet and looked round, seeing that everyone was awake, looking confused, worried, angry, all sorts. He saw Price bellowing orders for them to form a circle, to get ready for a fight. Most of the team had their weapons pointed up to the sky. Picking up his Lamentation, Dempsey helped form a circle with the others, placing himself with Daniel and Misty either side of himself, he then looked up. He saw that there wasn't just one helicopter, but there was about four. He couldn't make out who's helicopters they were or if they were friend or foe. Suddenly three of the helicopters turned off their lights and pulled away to a nearby field. The remaining one just hovered there light beaming down on them. Just then two ropes fell down either side of the chopper. Two figures came down the ropes. Dempsey could tell that more or less everyone had their weapons trained on the two figures.

"Hahaha those guns won't be necessary, we are all friends here" one of the figures laughed, holding up their hands. Dempsey was surprised to hear a woman's voice, and even more so to find that it had a Russian accent.

"Yes, please lower your weapons, we're not here to harm you" confirmed the second figure, again with a woman's voice and a Russian accent.

"Who are you? Identify yourselves" Price demanded stepping out of his place in the circle, and pointing his Desert Eagle at the two.

The two figures stepped into the light, revealing two women, both smiling gently.

"I am Captain Emily Arkwright, and this is my sister Captain Kelly Arkwright both of the Russian 20th Guards Army" the woman on the right introduced herself and her sister; "and we have been sent to bring you back to Russia"

Richtofenking95: Helloooo ladies and gentlefolk :D haha lots of action and juicy bits in this chapter, hope you all enjoyed it! At last our Heroes will finally reach Mother Russia :D but who are the Arkwright sisters? And what will be their involvement in the story? Will the Heroes be able to enact McNamara's plan? All will be revealed next chapter :D

Anyway just to address a couple of things. Firstly Black ops 3! Now before anyone asks, I will NOT be including the Black ops 3 characters at all because there is so many character's already lol plus it is set YEARS from black Ops 2 so I don't know if it at all necessary to include them. As far as Bo3 zombies goes, again I'm not going to include those characters, unless it is absolutely necessary, plus for those of you who have seen the Giant trailer for zombies, it looks like Treyarch is going down the multiple universe theory for Zombies, and because of that, and the fact the it fucks up plans I have for Heroes, I am NOT going to address that in this story :D don't get me wrong I am SUPER EXCITED for Bo3 and zombies, but I just don't know how it'll affect Heroes :D

Secondly I am going to a top 10 list in this section for each chapter now :D this will be my own personal opinion, but I would love to read your views (Alongside comments about the story) so without further adoooo here is my top 10 assault rifles in Call of duty:

10: TaR-21. Now when I first got my 360 and played MW2 online for the first time this was one of the first ARs that I used and I got attached to it very quickly. For me it had a decent power, high fire rate, nice reload, and decent sights. It's only drawbacks is the red dot sight or mars sight was a bit odd and obstructive and towards the twilight days of MW2 it began to take a little longer to kill people with it. But good ol' Tar is still an all-round reliable gun.7

9: FN FAL/FAL. If I could describe the FAL in two words it would be power house! This thing would be a 2-3 shot kill in core matches and a 1 shot kill in hardcore. Despite being a semi-auto weapon, the fire rate wasn't too bad, obviously fully auto and SMGs would usually come out on top in a close quarter battle, but this AR can hold its own against some fights. I have always been a fan of semi auto weapons and the FAL is probably my fav from that family.

8: CM901. Now a lot of people hate this assault rifle, saying it had poor damage, bad fire rate, bad sights etc. however when I used it in MW3 I found it a reliable weapon, and I would put it on par with the M4A1. For me it had a nice damage, and a nice steady rate of fire, and the sights were easily fixed with a red dot. I also loved the reload animation, with the flick of the gun popping out the mag.

7: STG/MP44. I put this on the list because this gun after the M1911 appears the most in CoD history. Ok damage, quick reload. It's only drawback for me was the fire rate, especially in W W where it would take years for bullets to come out of the gun. However I did find it pretty good to handle (I have still yet to see what it is like in MW1, so I can't make a full judgement yet lol) and I am super excited that it has made an appearance in Advanced Warfare!

6: HBRa3. Now I can't give this weapon justice as far a core matches are concerned being as I only play hardcore on AW, anyway for me this gun had a good rate of fire, especially with the first 3 rounds fire faster. The damage was very good, and in most fights, apart from SMGs, it managed to come out on top. The iron sights are a bit odd, but that is easily rectified. The Lead Launcher variant is my fav lol.

5: AK-47/12/AN-94. This weapon is a very solid choice of gun. The AK has very good damage; however the recoil lets it down a bit. The 12 has a decent damage, and relatively low recoil, and the AN has great damage and low recoil. Each has their ups and downs, but over all a good family of weapons. My one little thing is that I don't think that the AK in MW2 should be the last AR to unlock.

4: Scar-H/L. Another powerful weapon. Great damage, good rate of fire, low recoil, nice magazine size. Such a solid weapon to choose from. This was one of my favs to use, it can cut down enemies very effectively. However it isn't that great at CQB.

3: Aug. when I say the Aug I mean the Bo1 version because that thing was a monster. Awesome damage and fire rate, good iron sights and a lovely sound to match. Such a good choice of gun to choose from and to be honest I can't really fault it much.

2: Galil. Probably one of the best ARs in Bo1, it was a very smooth gun to use, with good damage, low recoil, useable iron sights, and a 35 round mag to boot. I found the Galil one a very reliable gun to use in online and it could cut down enemies pretty easily. I would argue though that sometimes that the damage can be a bit unpredictable, and can get you killed in a fire fight but that is forgivable.

1: ACR. Meet Mr. accurate, you could fire this thing with your eyes shut and still hit your enemy. This thing didn't move when you fired it had no recoil. The damage was pretty deadly, and the mag size was standard. If you attached a silencer with this weapon and went stealthy you were laughing it was that awesome, and again to be honest I can't fault it.

Honourable mentions go to the M4A1 which was a solid AR to start with and could out perform some of the other ARs, and the Honey Badger, which to be honest was the only AR that I used from Ghosts, because that game is my least favourite cod, it was shit, but I guessed I had to mention at least one gun…

Anyway what Cod top 10 shall I do next? :D and please DON'T FORGET TO R&R! WE LOVE IT!
