Prim's Point of View

I wake in the morning burning up completely covered in sweat. Looking down at my ankle I can see that it is still that horrible purple colour. However, I no longer feel the pain that the bite had given me yesterday. I know that is not a good thing. I had silently hoped and prayed last night that Katniss would have been able to get enough for sponsors last night that I would be able to have some sort of medication. It was always known that the Capital had a better advancement of medication. Each year, when tributes received medication it was amazing to see the transformation that happened because of the medicine. District Twelve never had anything like that only being able to use natural remedies, but none of them seemed to hold the same transforming powers as the Capital's medicine.

However, when I woke up this morning, there was nothing around that had been delivered during the night that could be used to help my leg. Trinity was no where in sight, and I was not really sure if it was morning or what time of the day it really was. I tried to move, but without the support of another person there it was impossible to move from spot under the bush in a small tunnel. I continued to lie there, closing my eyes, hoping that this feeling would leave my body.

A few hours must have passed before I could here Trinity enter back into the tunnel. She was talking away, and I couldn't hear the other's persons voice. When they came closer, I could feel one of them placing their larger hands on my head. It must have been Gale, Trinity would not have allowed anyone else this close to us. His hand was cold against my skin, and the small amount of relief that his hand brought me felt like heaven. I whimpered slightly when he moved his hand away. He must not have heard it, because he didn't place his hand back on my skin. More than ever I needed some of the Capital's medicine.

Gale's Point of View

I had spent all of yesterday searching for Trinity and Prim. There had been very little that had happened to me during the Games. Obviously, there was plenty of action with the other tributes, that they didn't feel the need to capture any material of me. That night, as I watched the announcement and recap of the day, I noticed that Prim or Trinity were not mentioned and I felt a slight bit of relief as I once again fell asleep that night without having seeing them since yesterday.

As I woke the next morning, there was a slight bit of rain in the air. However, it didn't stopped me, as I continued to travel through the woods looking for Prim. All of the trees now looked the same. Every tree all had the same bark, it just looked like they were the complete identical. I walked amongst the trees, constantly on the look out. I had been able to find water the day before, and I was now coming to the end of my water bottle. Heading back in the direction of the small stream, my thought leading me rather than me watching my steps.

I stumble into someone, and my breath catches in my throat when I see Trinity. I stared at her, my arms holding onto her shoulders. Her face is pained, and she looks stressed. She watches me, her eyes bulging as she recognizes who is standing in front of her. "Trinity..."

"Gale...It's Prim. A snake bite her, and her leg... It's really bad Gale." Trinity says in a quicken manner. As soon as the words leave her mouth, I feel my heart drop, at the thought of Prim.

"Take me to her. There has to be something we can do." I say, I watch as Trinity turns around and heads back into the woods. I follow behind her. She darts in between the trees, and soon we come up to a small gathering of bushes. Trinity dropped down onto her hands and knees and starts to crawl through the bushes. I drop down on my own, and follow behind her. The bushes soon turn into a small tunnel, and I'm able to stand up once again.

I finally see Prim laying on the floor of the tunnel. Even looking at her I could see that she was burning up, she was pale, but her sweat was visible. Looking down at her ankle it was an off purple colour, the two teeth marks are the only other colour present on her leg.

Turning back around to Trinity: "How long has she been like this?"

"I left her in a hiding place yesterday morning. I found her that evening, the tribute from one was going to kill her, thankfully I got to her first. She got worse over night, Katniss hasn't sent anything yet." Trinity simply states. I'm surprised that Katniss is yet to send anything for her sister, that would have been the first thing that I would have through that she would have done. Unless there was no money to cover the fees to heal her leg, or there was nothing that could cure the bite.

"When need to break the fever first." I simple state. I take off my jacket, handing it to Trinity. "Go out and completely spoke this in the water, we need to break this fever." Trinity doesn't argue and heads straight outside to follow my command.

She returns a few seconds after leaving the tunnel, coming to sit beside Prim, placing the jacket across her brow. Prim stirs a little in a small moan as the wet jacket is placed on her, but she doesn't have the energy to move any further.

"We need to do something Gale. She isn't going to last much longer." Trinity simply states, looking at me, and for once there is no evil or menacing look in her eye. She genuinely is concerned for Prim, and it makes my feelings for her look grow even deeper.

"We need to end this. We need to stop playing this game." I say, looking at Trinity, seeing if she understands what I'm fully trying to tell her. The only way that Prim could be helped would be if we could get her out of the Games. She needed to see a doctor.

Trinity looks slightly puzzled for a moment, before jumping to her feet and heading outside. I quickly follow behind her, wondering what her plan could possibly be. Is she just going to go out there and kill the rest of the tributes in a mass massacre?

Standing outside the tunnel, Trinity paces back and forth talking away to herself, things that I can't understand. Force field is mentioned. The enemy is mentioned. I don't question what Trinity is saying as I watch her.

"What weapon do you have?" Trinity asks, her pacing has stopped and she stands in front of me.

"I have a bow, but no arrows left."

Trinity snatches the bow from my hands, and rummages through her pocket, a small blade now in her hands. She weighs it in her hand, and says I it will have to do.

"What are you doing?" I question her.

She turns and looks at me. She walks right up into my face, she pulls on my jacket hard causing me to bend at my knees. Her lips connect with mine for a brief second and the sparks that start in my belly are opened. I place a hand to gently cradle her face, but all too soon she pulls back. "You have to make sure that you stay with Prim, no matter what happens, she is the one you help."

I look at her completely confused, I'm about to ask her what she is doing but she aims her bow at the sky, and lets it lose. I hadn't noticed that she had attached something onto the knife, but I realise it once the explosions begin.

Everything seems to erupt at once. The earth explodes into shows of dirt and plant matter. Trees burst into flames. Even the sky fills with brightly coloured bosoms of light. From the shock of the explosion I am sent onto my back, I run into the bushes and grab Prim in my arms. Heading back out of the tunnel I don't see Trinity anywhere. I call out to her, but she never responds. I try not to fear the worst.

The hovercraft materializes above me without warning. The claw drops form the underside until it's directly over head. They knock me over as I hold onto Prim, making sure that even though there is chaos all around me I don't let go of her. The metal talons slide under me. I want to scream, run, smash my way out of them, but I'm frozen helpless for both myself and Prim. I think about what the Capital and the Game Makers will do, who will be the one who survives the Games, will there be a victor for the 75th Hunger Games, or will they kill all of us?

When Prim and I are brought up to the hovercraft, nurses instantly take Prim from my hands, and start to shout at one another for medical supplies. I however, have my eyes fixed on Plutarch Heavensbee, the head Game maker. How would he react to Trinity's actions in destroying his Games? Would she be punished? Prim? Myself? Our families?

"What's going on?" I ask, finally being brave enough to speak.

"You are just going to have a quick small operation and then we can talk in a little while. We don't want people to know where we have taken you." I stand in amazement at him, unsure of what he means. It might be the confusion, or the amount of noise that can still be hard from outside of the hovercraft. But a nurse quickly injects me, and I fall gently back down onto the floor.

When I come back around slightly the first time, I can feel that I'm lying on a examination table, just like the one I had been on as part of our preparations. There's a pinching sensation of tubes in my left arm. I'm unable to move, open my eyelids, raise my head.

The second time I awake I can open my eyes I am still attached to the tubes in the left arm, but I am still very confused and have a heavy feeling all over my body. I see Primrose on one of the other beds, she also has the tube in her left arm, but also a medical ventilator is attached to her to help her breathing. I can't see her ankle, but it is clear to see that the fever has broken as there is some colour in her face. There were two other female tributes in our rooms, all of them had the tubes in their arm. None of them were awake. I believe they were from District elven and eight.

When I awake, I see that one of the beds are empty. Prim is still there, she has a few less tubes are attached. There are no more tubes attached to me, and I push myself into a sitting position. I wonder where the other tributes are, were some of them killed from the explosion. I'm sure the Capital would find some way to punish us all, would they send us back into the arena. "Trinity..." I whisper. I wanted to protect her, but she had been no one where in sight when I had returned from the tunnel after getting Prim. I swing my legs off the table and look around for a weapon. There is nothing laying around, mostly bandages and other medical equipment that I had never seen before.

The nurses must have changed my clothes, as I now stand in a thin nightgown. I head over towards the door, surprised to see that it is open, and head down a narrow hallways to a metal door that stands slightly ajared. I hear some voices coming from inside.

"Communications are down in Seven, Ten and Twelve. But Eleven has control of transportation now, so there's at least a hope of them getting some food out." I know the voice from the few times he has spoken on the television or to us as tributes. Plutarch Heavensbee.

"Did everyone get out of District Twelve? Have you heard anything from my mother or Gale's family? What about Cato? Has his family said anything?" I know that voice. Katniss. I'm surprised to hear her voice, and I'm completely confused by the situation.

"Only about twenty percent of District Twelve made it to Thirteen, but I have yet to be told exactly who it is. I have yet to make any contact with District Two. I know some of them were able to leave before Trinity's stunt. She did it too quick. I know she was doing it for your sister." Plutarch responds.

"We need to go to Two, we need a rescue mission." Katniss states back.

"Don't be stupid. That's the worst thing you could do. Get him killed for sure. As long as you're alive, they'll keep him alive for bait." Haymitch says.

I bang through the door and stumble into the room, no longer wanting to be kept in the dark about this conversation. Haymitch, Plutarch, Katniss, and what looks to be the mentors for District Four and Seven are sitting at the table. Daylight streams in the curved windows, and in the distance I see the tops of a forest of trees. We are flying.

"You finally woke up Sleeping Beauty." Haymitch says. Katniss has already got up from her seat, but doesn't make a move towards me.

"What happened?"

Haymitch sits me down and explains a bit about the rebellion, how a lot of the mentors and tributes were aware what was going on. Trinity being the one who was leading the rebellion from the arena. We had been rescued from the arena. We are currently on a very roundabout journey to District 13. Meanwhile most of the districts in Panem are in full scale rebellion.

Haymitch stops to see if I am following. Or maybe he is done for a moment. It's an awful lot to take in, this elaborate plan in which I had no knowledge of. Trinity was a piece in their Games, and she had kept that completely to herself.

"You didn't tell me." I say directed towards Katniss.

"Neither you nor Prim were told. We couldn't risk it." says Plutarch.

"I still don't understand why Prim and I weren't let in on the plan." I say.

"Because once the force field blew, you'd be the first ones they'd try to capture, and less you knew the better," says Haymitch.

"Why?" I simply ask.

"Because you are connected to me. I'm the symbol. Or so we thought." Katniss says.

I quickly think of Katniss and her games, she was the one who I would have picked to fight, to show the Capital that things needed to be changed, but I could instantly think of someone else who would make a such greater stance and style as the Mockingjay.

"Trinity? Where is Trinity?" I hiss at the group.

"She was picked up by the Capital. Along with some of the other tributes in the Games. The only one that knew anything was the tribute from Four." Haymitch simply states.

I stand and think about that for a moment. Trinity, the one who had been played this whole time had been left out in the dust. She was just another piece in the Games, and in the games of the rebellion. I slap my hand down on the table in anger. I grip the sides of the table, before lifting it up and flipping it and slamming it into the wall. Katniss tackles me, and we are both screaming terrible things at each other. Haymitch joins in. Finnick and Johanna try to drag me of the two of them.

Other men come in and help Finnick and I'm back on the my examination table. My body is restrained, my wrists tied down. A needle pokes me, and I am instantly sedated. I stop fighting my hands just weighing too much. I just scream and shout at them, feeling the vein in the side of my neck, bulging from anger.

"I wanted to go back for her I promise." Katniss pleads with me.

"I hate you. I hate you." I scream at Katniss. "She did everything you couldn't. She was there to protect Prim. And this is how you repay her, by throwing her to the dogs." I scream at her. I can see I instantly hit a nerve, and she tells the doctor to sedate me further. I scream out once more to Katniss, but she walks out of the room, and my eyes instantly close over once again.

For this last chapter, I tried to stick as close to the story line in Catching Fire, as I really enjoy the interaction between Katniss after the explosion in the arena. I believe this would be how Gale would react in the same situation, because he is basically the male version of Katniss. Do you agree?

Hope you enjoyed the next chapter, trying to get them out as quickly as possible. I have been making sure that I get out in a timely manner. I want to try and finish the rest of my stories. If there is a particular story you would like me to finish please feel free to message me or comment on the story. I can't wait to talk to you all soon. Lots of love from SweetLoveOfMine
