AN: I got a new computer last week and this is the first chapter I've posted with it. So if anything looks weird please let me know. Also, this chapter was… a little harder to write because I didn't want it to be too unrealistic, even though I know it kinda is. Either way this is what I got for all of you and I hope you enjoy,

I woke up with a feeling of both fear and excitement. Today I would get to know if my convincing skills were as good as I hope them to be. I stayed still to try and not wake up Toothless. I closed my eyes again and focused on the slow breathing of Toothless. It was calming for me to hear.

We continued to lie there for another ten minutes until I felt her start to stir behind me "Good morning Tooth." I said quietly. She mumbled out a good morning as well before letting me out of her grip. I stood up and stretched letting out a relieved sigh as my back cracked.

"So, today's the day." I heard Toothless say behind me. I stared out into the water and took in a deep breath "That it is Tooth and hopefully…" I turned around to meet her gaze "...Hopefully I was able to convince them." I said with a slight feeling of doubt rising in me once more.

"If anyone could do it, it would be you Hiccup." I smiled at her confidence "You know, you truly are the one that has kept me going you know that?" I told her sincerely. She smiled as well "I would do anything for you Hic."

"And I for you too Tooth." I said back still smiling. I turned when I heard the sounds of wing beats to see my mom with Cloudjumper carrying a large load of fish "Ah, you're awake. Hope you're hungry." My stomach started to growl and I walked over to the pile and grabbed a couple.

I noticed out of the corner of my eye the other dragons coming over as well. I grabbed a few for Toothless before walking back over to her "Figured you might be a little hungry." She thanked me taking the fish.

After we finished eating I knew that it was time to go into the village. I looked over at Toothless and caught her eye "I think we should go." She nodded understandingly and I walked over to my mom "Toothless and I are going to head out and see how the vote went." She nodded her head and hugged me.

"You have this Hiccup, I believe in you." She whispered in my ear. I pulled away smiling "Thank you, I… I'll tell you how it goes tonight or whenever I could see you." She nodded and I walked over to Toothless. When I hopped on we made a straight shot to the mead hall.

We landed out back and I hopped off of her. I pushed open the door and instantly heard my dad "Alright I know everyone's wondering but we just need wait for for Hi…" He stopped mid sentence when he saw Toothless and I enter.

"Well speak of the devil, I guess the waiting is over." He said gesturing over to us. A couple of villagers gave me a thumbs up and I instantly felt a little relief. Dad waved me over to him and two other villagers. When I got over to him he turned to the crowd.

"Last night you all voted on whether or not dragons would be accepted into the village or not." He turned to the two villagers "Please tell the village of the verdict." One of the two walked up to me and smiled at me lightly "The village has agreed to allow dragons into the village."

A decent people started to cheer and I looked over at Toothless with a grin "But…" Everyone went silent once more and I turned over to him "... there will be precautions." I nodded and he continued "You have shown us that peace can be possible but we still have our worries." I nodded in understanding "What are your precautions?"

"There simple, if a dragon attacks we will counter it with force and dealing with dragons will be optional not required." I nodded quickly "That's no problem at all." He turned once more to the crowd "Then it is decided." I could still see some people with doubt but I know with time that they would be convinced.

"So… how do you plan on achieving this peace?" The same guy asked me. The room went quiet and started to listen to me. It's funny how a month ago I wouldn't have been even looked at let alone listened to "That, is why I decided to tell all of you about this." I started clasping my hands together.

"There is something in the nest causing the dragons to attack, it's not because they want to." People started to ask what but I raised my hand "It is another dragon, but none like any of you have ever seen. It is massive, like the size of a small mountain." I heard a few gasps and a few deny it.

"Oh it's true, it almost killed me." I said glancing over at Toothless "I didn't just tell all of you this because I thought you'd accept it. No, the reason I told all of you is because I had to take a chance. You see I can't take thing thing down alone but as a village… that is a whole nother story. Just imagine if the dragons never raided, we could live in harmony."

I heard people start to slowly talk amongst themselves "We could do this, all you'd need to do is show us the nest." I quickly shook my head "No no, if we did this traditionally we would lose. No doubt in my mind but, with dragons…" I hinted.

Phil, the villager I helped at the docks a while back and training for a dragon, spoke up "The lad has a point you know. We may be able to crush mountains or tame the seas but this… this is something bigger than just a mountain. I think we should listen to him." People's prides started to cut in and arguing started up.

"ENOUGH!" I shouted and the room went silent once more. I took a deep breath "I don't need all of you to deal with dragons and I do understand the hesitation. All I ask is that those that do help me and anyone that doesn't we can collaborate with on the ground." I explained knowing that I couldn't get everyone on dragon.

I still saw lots of doubt but I could also see some people that agreed with what I was saying "I know even those who don't like the dragons still want the raids to stop." I heard people start to lightly talk amongst themselves. I waited patiently as everyone talked.

I watched as yesterday's group of trainees came to the front "We are with you." He said and the little group nodded with him "Us too." I looked over to see the teens and smiled "Count us in." I heard a small group say. People continued to join me until most of, if not, all of the room told me they were in.

'Well then that… went better than I could have ever hoped.' I thought as people looked at me expectantly. I glanced over at my dad and he just nodded to the crowd. I took a breath "Thank you… all of you. I know change is hard, especially for us vikings, but just know that all of you are doing the right thing." I paused for a second and looked around "Because of all of you we can begin the road to peace, it may be a long time from now or really soon I don't know, but what I do know is that the journey has began."

People started to cheer and I looked over at Toothless with a feeling of relief. People started to calm down after a minute and one more question was asked "How will we take down this dragon you said is the cause of the raids?" I looked over at the teens "I will train people to become riders… and be combat ready as well. All I need is time with those who want to ride."

"But we don't have any dragons." I opened my mouth before closing it. He was right of course "I'm sure we can find a dragon." I heard my dad say beside me. That must have been a good enough answer because no other questions were asked.

"If anyone has questions on dragons I will answer them after I get done with training new riders." People nodded and my dad stepped up "Are there any other questions?" No one said anything "Then this meeting is dismissed." The room started to empty out and I walked over to Toothless with a smile stuck on my face.

"I can't believe they accepted so fast… I would have never thought…" She rolled her eyes and pushed her head onto my chest "As I've said many times now, if anyone could do it, it's you." I laughed a little and hugged her.

I heard a cough behind me and I turned around to see the teens and trainees "What's up?" I said walking towards them "We were wondering when we're going to practice again." Phil said. I hummed and started to think for a second "I need to talk to someone about our lack of dragons problem, but the they can show you guys a couple of things." I said gesturing to the teens.

They nodded and I walked over to Astrid "I'm going to go talk to my mom… and I'll send your dragons this way." She nodded and told the rest what was up. I walked back over to Toothless and gestured her to follow me "Come on Tooth, I need to talk to my mom." She nodded and followed.

When we got back outside I got on her back and we started to fly to the cove "So what do you need to talk to your mom about?" She asked right after we took off "I need to talk to her about our lack of dragons, I was thinking maybe she knows of a place we can find some." She nodded under me.

When we got to the cove I told the dragons that they were needed at Berk. When I looked for my mom I couldn't find her anywhere until I remembered our conversation "I'm stupid." I muttered walking back to Toothless who realized what I was saying "Oh ya, I forgot she was leaving." I nodded feeling dumb "So now what?" She asked.

I shrugged "I don't know, but I really don't want to go back. I don't want to push my luck." I told her. I thought about it for a second until I did get an idea "Hey Tooth, how does the queen keep the dragons around? I mean I know she's big but if they all left she couldn't do anything." I said not understanding how that fully worked.

I watched as she shifted uncomfortably "Well… she may have mind control to help her." I gave her a disbelieving look "Mind control? Then how are you talking to me or any of the other dragons?" I asked feeling confused.

"She doesn't use it all the time only when she wants to show power or bring back a runaway." Then she looked me in the eye "And somehow you freed me from that control… and the other dragons as well." I grabbed the back of my head ad walked in a circle "And you didn't tell me this earlier when we found the queen?" I asked.

She looked down "I'm sorry I just… I thought you would think of me differently or not trust me if you knew." I stopped and pulled her head back up "Nothing would change how I think about you Tooth." I told her with sincerity. She smiled and rubbed her head on my hand "Thanks Hic."

I decided to go back on topic "So this mind control… you said that it's gone from you?" She pulled away from my hand and nodded "Yes, when you were talking to me that night that you shot me down I felt her influence dissipate as you continued to talk and then it disappeared." I rubbed the back of my head feeling shame while remembering my suicidal rant with her.

We stood there in silence for a few more seconds until I watched Toothless's eyes widen a little "What's up?" She shook her head "I just realized something, Thor said that you have the abilities of all dragons right?" I nodded my head and I watched her eyes light up.

"If that's true then you have the powers of an alpha… which makes you an alpha, that explains it." I was confused "What do you mean by alpha?" I asked not fully understanding "Well, an alpha is just like your dad. You have power over other dragons, whether you use it for good or bad is up to the alpha. That and because you are it negates the queens effects."

I started to pace a bit before turning back to her "That doesn't make me like the queen does it?" She shook her head quickly "Don't you ever compare yourself to that monster Hiccup, you are an amazing and caring person." She said while looking me in the eye. I smiled a little and hugged her.

"So… what do you want to do?" I pulled away and shrugged. I watched her think for a second "Do you want to go flying?" I nodded "How could I say no to that?." I said getting on the saddle. When we took off we went out in the direction of the ocean "So… wanna jump?" She asked beginning to fly upwards.

I laughed "You don't even need to ask me that question." I said as we went higher. After a minute of flying upwards I felt myself starting to get extremely cold and short on breath "Tooth… can't… breathe…" I choked out starting to panic "Jump…"

I couldn't get up to jump so I slid off. After a couple of seconds I started to get air back in my lungs. Toothless got right next to me "You alright?" I nodded and started to smile "I'm doing great." I said as I went into a flip.

When the ground started to near us I quickly got back on and we rode it out just to pull up at the last second. Her wings skimmed the edge of the water and I felt the water spray on my face. The feeling was incredible, nothing would ever top this… ever.

When we slowed it down we flew under a massive archway made of stone and then went up higher "Tooth… what was that when we got up high, I couldn't breathe." I asked her remembering the feeling of terror "I don't know why but I do know it gets harder to breath the higher you get… your body wasn't used to it." I nodded but wondered why "Guess I'll have to work on that." I muttered.

We continued to fly around for hours, in all honesty I completely lost track of time. I jumped off of her countless times in the past few hours and it was amazing. Along with that we flew through mazes of sea stacks. But after all of the adrenaline we decided to just take a nice flight around the island.

I lied back with a smile plastered to my face "I had a great time Tooth, I can't wait to do this again." I said knowing that I wouldn't be able to live without this "Me too Hic, this was fun." She said glancing back at me. I sat back up and rubbed the top of her head for a few seconds until the cove came up and we went in for a landing.

When we entered I instantly spotted several dragons sitting in the cove. When we landed all of them turned towards us 'Tooth, what's going on?' I asked her 'I don't know Hic, stay close.' I hopped off slowly watching the dragons closely.

"Hello Volkin, I had a difficult time trying to find you." I stepped back as they all spoke simultaneously. I glanced at Toothless for a second before back to them "Um… hi. Who are all of you?" I asked feeling freaked out "I am the queen and you are a nuisance that needs to be dealt with." I felt my blood run cold and I started to back up towards Toothless.

'Tooth I think we need to…' I stopped when I saw her shaking her head "She's trying to get in." She whimpered. I started to panic "What do I do?" She didn't respond she only looked down shaking her head.

I quickly remembered what she said earlier so I grabbed her head and looked into her eyes "Listen to my voice Tooth, just listen to me." I continued to talk to her for several seconds and she started to come out of it "We need to get out of her." She said through her teeth.

I opened my mouth to speak but get cut off when something hit me in the back causing me to go flying. When I landed with a grunt I looked up I saw that I landed several feet away from Toothless and that a nadder hit me across. Toothless quickly ran over to me and I stood up "I'm alright, let's get out of here."

I quickly got onto the saddle and we shot straight into the air. I looked behind us to see all of them chasing us "Hey Tooth, I thinks it's time to use speed for a little more than pleasure." She nodded and I pressed myself tightly against the saddle.

We flew almost straight up 'What are we doing?' I asked her 'They won't be able to catch us in a dive.' I nodded slightly and took a quick peek at the dragons. They were losing distance but after the dive we would lose them. I knew that we were high when I felt it getting harder to breath again.

She started to tip forward and I gripped hard enough that my knuckles turned white. I felt my gut rise as we started downwards right past the dragons 'Go towards Berk, they shouldn't follow… I hope.' I told her 'Got it.' She started in the direction of Berk and I took another peek at the dragons. They were falling way behind now.

I looked back forward to see Berk coming up fast 'Tooth slow down.' I said as we sped towards the ground. She extended her wings and we started to slow down. We went in the direction of the arena and started to land.

When we did I hopped off and looked into the sky for the dragons. I couldn't see any so I turned to Toothless and nodded "I think they are gone." I told her letting out a relieved sigh. I watched as people came in carrying their weapons.

"What is going on here?" I heard my dad ask as he pushed to the front. When he saw me he walked over to me "Hiccup you can't be flying around with Toothless like that. You know that the night fury's whistle is well… terrifying." I grabbed him and turned out backs to the village.

"I have a bit of a problem but I can't tell you with them around." I said to him seriously. He looked at Toothless who was nodding. I heard him sigh before he nodded "Fine, but we are going to talk about this." He said before turning around "Just a misunderstanding, there is no dragon raid." He said telling them all to go home.

People started to grumble annoyed and left the arena. After two minutes everyone was gone and he turned back to me "Ok spill, what happened?" I explained to him everything from the mind control to the dragons. His eyes widened a little at the story.

"Mind control? Alpha…?" He walked over to the side and leaned up on the wall "So, this dragon can control the dragons with her mind?" I nodded and he shook his head "But, according to Toothless as long as I'm around she can't take over… at least that's what we think."

He walked over and put a hand on my shoulder "Don't tell the village, not yet. They have already set their minds to this and I really don't want that to change." I nodded in understanding and he gestured me to follow him out of the arena

I only just noticed how late it was, the sun was almost gone but not quite. I turned to him "I think I'm going to go to sleep." I told him starting to walk in the direction of the house "Ok I have to do something first so I'll see you later." He said walking in a different direction.

When we got to the house I watched Toothless look around the inside with amazement "So this is where humans sleep?" I nodded and watched her with amusement as she messed with things in the house "Soo… where exactly do you sleep?" I gestured her to follow me up the stairs.

I pushed open my door to my room and walked in "This is where I have slept for most of my life." I said pointing to the bed. Her head dropped a bit "Oh…" I looked at the bed and quickly understood "Come on Tooth, I'm not going to stop sleeping with you."

Her head came back up and I smiled at her "You are my bed now." I said jokingly. She purred and rubbed her head on my side. I looked at the ground and realized that it would probably be uncomfortable "I got to get something quick." I said before running to the storage and grabbing as many furs as I could carry.

When I came back up I saw her looking at the drawings on my desk. I set the furs down and walked up on her side "What are all of these?" She asked looking at the blueprint of the bola launcher. I looked away from it ashamed "That's uh… well that's the plan to the thing I shot you down with." I said muttering the last part.

She continued to look at the drawings and I had to ask "Tooth… why did you forgive me for shooting you down so quick?" I asked curiously. She looked at me "Well, if you didn't shoot me down I would have never met you, plus it healed." She said licking me on the cheek.

I smiled slightly before turning around and spreading out the furs "I figured that the floor might be a little uncomfortable." I told her spreading it all out "Hic, I'm a dragon. I think I can handle it." She said coming over to me. I turned my head to look at her "Ya, but you're my dragon and I'll have nothing but the best for you… love."

I watched as a blush form on her face and I chuckled a little. She lightly hit me in the back of my head "Shut up." I continued to smile as I lied the furs out. When I got done she lied down on them "It's not uncomfortable is it? If it is I'm sure I can find more."

She shook her head "I'm good Hic, let's just go to sleep." I nodded and crawled next to her. She grabbed me and brought me into the embrace that I've come to love. After several second I decided to speak "You know Tooth… why is this so awkward between us?" I asked her.

I felt her shrug "I guess we're just awkward people." I sighed a little "Sometimes I wish I wasn't, I would love to tell you how I feel about you all the time but I just… it's weird for me." I explained to her "Maybe one day then, it's not like either of us have been in a relationship… especially one as weird as this." I nodded knowing that I would probably be awkward for quite a while.

"Plus it doesn't matter Hiccup, I love you just the way you are." She said while looking in at me with sincerity in her eyes. I smiled a little "Same, as I said before, I don't care that you are a dragon. Hel, it's one of the things that makes you unique." I heard her purr a little bit.

"Now that we're done talking about this awkward relationship that we are in, are you ready to sleep?" She asked with humor in her voice. I nodded with a slight smile and closed my eyes "Goodnight Tooth." I mumbled out. She pulled me in tighter "Goodnight to you too Hic." She said before laying her head onto the furs under us.

AN: So I figured that I could toss a little bit of the queen in just to add a little excitement so I hope you guys liked that. Also as I've said before I am working on another story so this might be a little slower, along with that the school year's about to end which mean my teachers are just pouring work onto us. Just wanted to throw that out there so you guys know. Other than that, all I've got is reviews.

Shadows Rise From The Tides- Ya, I figured I was going a little fast but if I go too slow it gets boring. But when needed I'll go into more detail.

Viper4K- Well I'm sure you could guess the answer before I even wrote it from my style of writing. But I might have to throw in a little more conflict with the village… maybe.

LordPyralis- As I said, it was kind of an impulse thing with the Japanese weapon that I now kinda regret. Also, he had his mask pulled down when he was eating… just saying.

So thank you everyone for your reviews and I can't wait to read more. Also, do you know what I only just realized while responding? I have 200 reviews now. I'm actually surprised, I wasn't even paying attention until it caught my eye and I think it's really cool that all of you have supported me as a writer so much and I would like to thank all of you for your criticism, encouraging words, or even just a simple "It's good.". Well I'm happy for that and I will see you guys in the next chapter.
