I watched as Jeff's large kitchen knife came down, slicing right into my brother's chest. A strangled yell flew from his lips as he fell to the ground, blood beginning to gather in a puddle beneath him. His shaking hands fluttered around the knife, afraid to touch it as his face crinkled in pain. A horror-struck cry tumbled from my mouth, tears pricking in the corners of my eyes as I stared at the sight before more. Jack was frozen, his eyes wide yet still dilated as they flickered from me, to Andy. Ben was nearly forgotten behind him, the elf throwing the towel from his face. He was shaking, slightly, blood smeared on his face from his eyes. Then, he saw what had happened. A triumphant laugh exploded from Jeff, his head throwing back as he cackled.
"You... you monster!" I screamed at Jeff, scrambling over to my brother.
Nearly forgetting the serial killers around me, I fell to my knees next to Andy, gripping his hand in mine. His blue t-shirt was covered with blood, the size of the stain growing by the second. He was still reaching for the knife with his free hand, groans being the only sound he could make.
"No, don't do that," I whispered, a single tear trickling down my cheek. "It'll just make it bleed faster," I sniffled.
"Tessa, I'm so sorry," Andy murmured, looking up at me. His blue eyes were glazed over as he tried to hold mine. "I never should have left... abandoned you like that. It was just... I was going through so much, and I didn't want you to be apart of any of it. Then, after a couple of years went by..." he coughed then, a couple of droplets of blood hitting the floor and staying on his lips. "I was afraid of coming back," he sighed, laying his head back on the ground.
I looked up at Jack, the tears like a waterfall now as I tried to contain myself. He looked ashamed and sorrowful as he stared at me as I cried. Yet the other two killers in the room were smiling as they took in the scene. I knew they were enjoying every last second of this; watching me break down as I felt the pain of watching my brother die. Ignoring them, I turned back to him, wiping my eyes with my free hand.
"It's alright," I nodded, trying to muster a smile. "You came back. And now, I'm honestly wishing you didn't," I chuckled.
"No, I'm glad I did," he grimaced, fighting back the pain. "If not, your clown... boyfriend guy, Laughing Jack would probably be dead right now," he murmured, shutting his eyes. "I know you must love him, Tessa. I didn't want you to have to deal with someone else leaving you," he whispered.
"But you are now!" I cried, letting myself break down.
"Ah well," he shrugged. "At least I got to see my baby sister again," he replied, a half grin managing to pull across his face.
My head dropped, my grip on his hand growing tighter. He squeezed my hand gently... then it became looser and looser. I looked up, watching the steady speed of his breaths grow slower until... he was completely still. His mouth hung limp, along with his hand that I still clung to. Anger continued to grow in me, stronger and stronger to the point where I felt as if I wanted to watch the world burn. My head snapped up to the two killers, my fists clenching together as I dropped my brother's hand. Looking down, I grasped the knife that was still wedged in his chest, slowly pulling it out, then turning to them.
"Lollipop," Jack hesitantly whispered, walking forward, his claws held up in the air.
I bared my teeth, running forward at the other two serial killers, a ferocious shriek flying from my mouth. Jack instantly caught me, holding me back as the other two smirked.
"YOU BASTARDS! I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU!" I screamed, struggling in Jack's arms.
"Heh. Nice chick you found there, Jack," Ben smugly called, as Jeff elbowed him playfully.
"GET OVER HERE YOU FUCKING ELF, I WILL SLAUGHTER YOU!" I continued to yell, as Jack tried to calm me. He whispered sweet nothings and promises, yet none were heard by me at this moment. After all I went through, it just couldn't be enough! My brother just had to come home, then die a couple of days later!
"You're gonna slaughter me?" Ben sneered. "I ain't no cow, sweet cheeks," he chuckled, his eyes narrowing once more.
Jack paused, his anger seeming to be reaching it's brink as well. With the flick of his wrist, the ribbons returned once more, flinging forward and wrapping around both of their necks. Then, he slammed them into the wall, their heads banging back from the impact. Ben's hat fell to the ground, both of their hands clawing at their necks as they tried to break free.
"Are you sure?" Jack challenged, his raspy voice sounding beyond evil at this moment. He turned to me, a large smile spreading across his face, his spiked teeth shining. "Go on, sweetheart," he nodded forward. Then, a psychotic laugh flew from his lips as he shook his head. "After all. You can't spell slaughter without laughter," he added between laughs.
My eyes flickered back to the struggling killers, worry now etching onto their features. I grinned, gripping the knife tightly between my fingers. Slowly, I approached them, a slight laugh bubbling out of my mouth, causing their eyes to widen. I walked to Jeff first, prepared to end to his life. Anger and adrenaline fueled me, pain running throughout my body as well. My knuckles cracked as they popped. I looked down, my eyes landing on the body of my brother. Then back up at Jeff. That no good son of a bitch... Heartless, cruel, evil... I paused, then, thinking over what just ran through my mind. I blinked, not noticing the silence that adorned the room.
"Are you going to kill me today, Miss 'I'm going to slaughter you'? Or are you going to going to just back out?" he sneered, his smile ripping at the corners.
I glared at him, before smiling slightly, my face lightening almost instantly. "No. No, I'm not," I replied, causing shocked expressions to come across both their faces... And relief across Ben's. "I'm not like you two. I don't back stab my friends and try to cause misery. I don't get my kicks out of killing people to hurt those I'm close to. I am better than you," I spat. "If I killed you two right now, I would be no better. So... No."
I slammed the knife forward, cutting right through Jeff's hand, nailing it to the wall. He yelled, but was unable to move due to the ribbons that were wrapped around his neck. I walked back over to Jack, smiling at him as I did. He smiled back with pride and adoration that I couldn't help but love. Yes, I knew that my Jack was a killer too. But I knew that even he wasn't as low as these two. The ribbons retracted into his sleeves, his arms instantly wrapping around me.
"Let's get you home," Jack murmured, glaring at the other two.
"Home?" I questioned, confused.
"To your new one," he chuckled.
A black haze surrounded us as the two killers barreled forward, still trying to end our lives. But by the time they reached us, we were gone. My body was numb, feeling as though bubbles were popping all around me. Then, it began to disperse.
My eyes then flickered around, taking in the sight of Jack's carnival from my dreams once more.
Please review! And no, this isn't the end :P
