Chapter XXVI: Bait

Danni

"Does he always try to use your grandma's spells to get out of work," I asked Sue as we walked to the front counter where the man was waiting us with order we had to deliver.

Sue had explained to me that Ms. Wu was worried about that Kong Li creep coming after me and ordered her grandchildren to watch over me. There were things I still understand about what was going on but I thought it best not to dwell on them now.

"More than you know," Sue replied as Ms. Wu walked up to us and smiled seeing that was I alright.

"It is a blessing to see you all right Danielle, when I heard you scream I thought something had happened," she said concerned as a chill ran up my spine thinking about that dream I had. It seemed so real and that means it's the 'gift' acting up telling me that something bad was happening. "Danielle, are you all right?" she asked worried as I snapped back to the present.

"Yeah, Ms. Wu, just a little shaken up," I told her as she nodded and handed me fortune cookie. "Thank you," I said a bit confused looking at the crescent cookie in my hand.

"That's a special cookie," Sue informed, "go on open it," she said as I cracked open the treat and pulled out the paper fortune.

"Sleep is refreshing but only if one is at peace, let the darkness and fears of night be put to flight but the sun's brilliant light," I read as I swallowed the sweet cookie. I soon began to feel strange like a feid of light surrounded me, it was calming in way.

"That should ease your fears," Ms. Wu said as I smiled, "Take this to Mr. Liáng on East Street he needs it right away," she continued handing Sue a bag before we headed outside.

"Come on we have a bit of ride ahead of us," Sue told me as she unhitched two bikes and showed me where we had to go on a GPS device.

"We'll never get there in time, no matter how fast we peddle," I said realizing that it was on the other side of town but she didn't seem worried.

"These are special bicycles," she told me as got on one and motioned for me to do the same.

Zile Zazic

"Stan did you send that report to the headmaster's office?" I ordered my lackey as he walked into the room as I typed something on my computer.

"Yeah boss, it's all done," he said as I continued to search for the information I sought, "uh boss, are you okay," he asked as I waved him away so that I could be alone. "Uh, you know where to reach me," he said as I nodded.

I was busy trying to find who placed that call, so far I could place it in the Caribbean but that was a far as I could make it. "Maybe if I triangulate the signal," I said as I tried my plan only to find a block around the signal. "Blast it!" I cursed as I heard a knock on the door. "Yes," I grumbled as I saw Annalise walked in.

"I have the proof you wanted, father, hard video evidence that Speed Racer abuses that little wretch," she said as I perked up at those words.

"Really," I asked her as she nodded and handed me a disk, "I might need to use this," I told her as I put it in the drive and watched it smiling. I may not have got anywhere on finding the location of the mysterious caller but the key to finally be rid of Speed Racer and the Mach Six are finally within my hands.

Kong Li

"Patience my friend, we must wait for the right moment," I told Mó Guó Wá as I walked onto the streets of Chinatown holding a parcel in my hand. "All she needs to do is touch the potion and she well be mine," I told him as I waved my hand and the parcel transformed into a large emerald. "This plan cannot fail," I said looking up at the barrier that holds me prisoner here.

For too long, that old crone has prevented from my destiny but now not even she and those blasted children can stop from destroying this place.

I smiled at the fact that I would soon be freed but cut my reverie short as Mó Guó Wá hissed at him indicating that my prey was coming. "Thank you my friend," I said as I used a teleport spell to retreat into the shadows and waited for my plan to begin.

Danny

I shivered in the coldness of my cell clutching the piece of people that told me that I was alone in this world now. Everything I knew and loved was gone, Vlad Plasmius had finally won.

My body ached all over from the beating that fruit loop had given me and my heart still wasn't at normal. "C…curse that s...slimy N…na…zi," I hissed between my chattering teeth remembering that I have Reichsführer Himmler and his inhumane experiments to thank for my heart troubles.

I sucked in the blood that was spewing from my nose trying to warm myself up when I heard someone coming.

"Let me go you cheddar infested rat!" I heard a girl's voice shout as the door opens and see Vlad with a chain in his hand.

"Maybe some time in this cell will make you less feisty," Plasmius hissed as he pulled the chain revealing a young girl in a black dress with a white shirt underneath, it was one of the Addams children.

"You know you won't win!" she hissed as Plasmius laughed and shut the door. Once he was gone she looked and saw me, "You're the ghost kid aren't you?" she asked walking up to me. She winced as she saw my battered form and ragged clothes. "What happened to you?" she asked as I looked up to her.

"Plasmius, he took my friends, my powers, everything I held dear," I said blood dripping out of my mouth.

"We should do something to put that nutcase in his place," she said as she walked over to me. "We can probably topple that old crazy ourselves," she told me as I scoffed at the idea.

"It can't be done, Vlad is too powerful now," I told her as she frowned at me.

"You can't be serious," she scolded me, "When father was torturing you, you never once gave up and you have to do the same now," she said as I sighed, she was right. "What do you say, will you help me," she asked as I took in her offer.

Connor

"Has she woken up yet," I asked as I looked over at where Sam was sleeping. She had been out for awhile bit and I was starting to worry about her.

"Connor you've asked that a million times and the answer is still the same," Lucy snapped as I backed away and went to read my book- How to convert your pets to Scientology. I've been trying to program Scientology in Chim-Chim for some time now but with no success.

While I was reading, I heard the loudspeaker come on, "Would the following students please report to the Headmaster's office- Speed Racer, Connor Fleetwood, Lucy Donaldson, X Racer, and Tucker Foley," the secretary said as I looked back at my friends confused.

"What could Headmaster want?" Tucker asked as we got up and went to see what Headmaster Spritle wants with us.

Head Observant

"What have you to report my brother," I told a fellow Observant as he came up to my throne who had returned from a scouting mission to find out what was going on in Dantea and Earth. Since Clockwork has apparently abandoned us, I had taken upon myself to find out what happened.

"There is definite activity by the tomb and a resurrection is imminent though I cannot say when it shall occur," he said nervously. "The Triune has been meeting deep within that realm and I have also heard that what we fear might be true," he related to me as I took in this information.

"What of Earth?" I asked curiously as he bows his head.

"Something of great magickal signifgance has occurred it's blocking all attempts to decipher what is going," he told me sadly. "What should we do?" he asked as I sighed taking out an ancient scroll.

Ancient Ghost Law decreed the council could only observe events and never interfere, that's why we allied ourselves with the Clockwork brothers so that we could alter things to our specifications but it seems we don't have that option now.

"Get Frostbite here and tell him to appoint a substitute for Clockwork since he has abdicated," I told him as he nodded as left as I contemplated what this could mean for creation.
