Epilogue
Jasmine leaned on the railing of the balcony of the palace, overlooking Agrabah where people started cleaning up around the palace. It'd been a rough couple of days, but the dark dome had disappeared from around the city, Lamrai had collapsed under the weight of its illusions, which Jatika had manipulated all up until the time Aladdin had revealed his identity. Now everyone was either cleaning up or celebrating around the Palace.
Everyone except Aladdin, who lay in slumber on Jasmine's daybed.
"I still can't believe the kid's sleepin' at a time like this. He should be out taking in the sights and pleasures that come with a hero's welcome!" Iago stuffed another group of strawberries in his mouth as he spoke, while Abu enjoyed a bunch of bananas. Carpet was in his own slumber, but his knobs gently swayed as if he were flying around in whatever dreams he had. If rugs did indeed dream.
Jasmine's brow raised. "After all the work Aladdin did, I'm not surprised he's taking time to rest. He deserves the break. Plus he never really fully slept with all the trials Jatika had him do."
"Oh well, his loss is my gain. I still can't believe that imp was the cause of all that - what d'ya think happened to him anyway?"
Jasmine sighed. "Jatika got banished from the city again by Genie. I know one thing, he won't have access to the level of magic that Lamrai had, that's for sure. We'll still have to keep an eye out for him, though. In case he comes back to wreck more mischief. As for Genie, I think he went to help people clean up in the city."
Iago rolled his eyes. "Geez, all you people think about is doing goody-two-shoes work. Well, I'm taking my bad wing and all the time I need to recover from that ordeal. I'll be scrubbing my brain for weeks. Hey! I need more fruit over here! Make it snappy!"
Jasmine dismissed Iago with a wave of her hands before walking over to Aladdin, smoothing his hair from his face as she watched his chest rise and fall in a steady rhythm.
"I hope whatever dreams you're having, Aladdin, that no shadows or illusions lurk among them. And if they do, that you'll be the hero that breaks through them." She planted a kiss on his cheek. While he didn't stir, she saw the corner of his lip turn up.
The End
