It is Sunday night, the day before Shawn's interview at the Land Rover dealership.
After dinner, Juliet went back into their bedroom and picked out a nice suit for Shawn to wear for his interview tomorrow morning with Tommy. She decided that she would let him pick out his own tie.
Shawn was busy bathing the kids and getting them ready for bed while Juliet was picking out his clothes. He got the boys down around 8:15 that night and gave them a kiss and told them that momma was coming in there later.
Juliet hung Shawn's suit up where he could easily see it and get it in the morning.
Shawn grabbed Maggie and went back into the bedroom.
"Jules?" Shawn asked.
"Yes?" Juliet answered.
"What are you doing?"
"Putting out your stuff for your interview tomorrow."
"Can I pick out my own tie?"
"Yes. I decided this last minute. Let me see it first."
"Ok. Are you leaving early tomorrow morning?"
"Yeah. I told Karen I would."
"Ok. I will get up early with you."
"Shawn you don't have to do that."
"I do. I want to see your face before my interview."
"I calm you down don't I?"
"Big time."
Juliet laughed and hugged Shawn.
"You get to wear your new cufflinks tomorrow." Juliet said.
"I do." Shawn said.
"Get Maggie bathed and I can go kiss the boys."
Juliet left the room and went to Cole's room first and went in. She walked in and saw the TV on.
"Hey baby." Juliet said.
"Hey mommy." Cole said.
Juliet sat at the end or the bed and said, "You know it's bedtime right?"
"Yeah I know. I wanted to say goodnight to you."
"Awww, I love you kiddo."
"I love you too mommy. Goodnight."
Juliet kissed Cole on the head and tucked him in.
Shawn was bathing Maggie and then his phone rang.
"Hello?" Shawn asked.
"Hey Shawn, it's Karen." Karen said.
"What's up?"
"I wanted to call and tell you good luck tomorrow at the interview."
"Thanks so much Karen. Really means a lot."
"You're welcome. Let me know as soon as you finish."
"Ok. I will still work at the station until they hire me or if they hire me."
"They better hire you."
Shawn laughed and said, "Well, I am bathing Maggie here and Juliet is kissing the boys goodnight."
"Good night Mr. Spencer."
Shawn hung up and finished bathing Maggie and picked her up in her towel and carried her to the bedroom and got her diaper out and put it on her butt and put her in the bed.
Juliet got into the bedroom 10 minutes later and saw Shawn and Maggie sleeping. She got in the bed and turned out the light and kissed Shawn and Maggie goodnight.
Monday morning.
Since Juliet had to be at the station for 9:00 that morning, she got up around 8:00 and hopped in the shower. After her shower, she got out and dried her hair and got dressed. She went into the bedroom and saw Shawn up or at least trying to get up.
"Good morning." Juliet said.
"Morning. You look nice." Shawn said.
"Thank you. Go hop in the shower and shave."
Shawn got up and walked over to Juliet and kissed her.
Shawn went into the bathroom and took a shower and then shaved. He came out of the bathroom with just a towel around his waist.
"Forgot your boxers?" Juliet asked.
"Yes." Shawn said.
"Shawn, you could've told me to bring them in there, we're not 12."
"I know. I just realzied it."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Juliet threw Shawn his boxers and he put them on and then got dressed.
Shawn got dressed and now he was picking out his tie.
Shawn finally picked the blue one with black stripes which matched his blue shirt and black pants. He went back into the bathroom and fixed his hair. After he did all that, he went to his 'man' jewlery box and got his new cuff links and put them on.
Juliet was out in the front with Maggie and in the process of feeding her and getting the boys up and dressed.
Shawn came down the hall and said, "Jules."
Juliet turned around and saw her husband with a big smile on his face.
"You look very nice Mr. Spencer." Juliet said.
"Like the tie?"
"I do. I would give you Maggie, but you're clean and dressed."
"It's ok. Can I kiss you?"
"Of course you can."
Shawn bent down and kissed Juliet and said, "You be careful today Jules."
"Good luck today babe."
"Alright. I need to get going. Tommy texted and told me the interview is at 9:00, which is in 15 minutes."
"Ok. Kick some ass Spencer."
"You too Spencer."
Shawn walked out of the house with everything and then he went back inside and said, "Bye boys. Love you."
He finally got into his brand new Range Rover and drove to the dealership. He pulled into the back parking lot and got out and fixed his tie and his suit and grabbed everything and then got out of his car and went in.
Shawn walked into the dealership to find the receptionist ask, "How may I help you?"
"I have an interview with Tommy." Shawn said.
Tommy came around the corner and saw Shawn.
"Hey Shawn." Tommy said.
"Hey Tommy. How are you today?" Shawn asked.
"I am really well, how are you?"
"Great. Ready to get this interview started."
"That's the spirit."
Tommy took Shawn to his cubicle and sat him down and started with the first question.
"So tell me Shawn, are you a competitive person?" Tommy asked.
"Yes I am. Me and my wife make up challenges for each other everyday or at least we try to." Shawn said.
"What kind of challenges?"
"Racing, we just moved to our new house like a week ago, we like to race with the dogs. I watch football and very competitive."
"That's good. Next question. What are three words to describe yourself?"
"One, I am funny, Two, I am competitive, Three, outgoing."
"Great. Next. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"
"In 5 years, I can see me and my wife with maybe another baby, not sure yet, but my daughter, she is a month old, she will be starting kindergarten. I can see us staying down here and me working for this company."
"Awesome. What's her name?"
"Maggie Grace."
"That's pretty."
"Thanks."
"Next question. Can you work everyday?"
"Yes I can. I understand that dealerships are closed on Sundays am I right?"
"Yes you are. I know you have a family, but do you think with this job, which is 60 + a week, do you still have time to see your family?"
"I think so."
"Why car sales?"
"I have been a detective for the past 2 years, but I started off as a consultant. Together, I have been working for the police for 11 + years. I thought it was time for a change since we just moved back down here from San Francisco and plus we have a new baby."
"That makes sense."
"Yeah. How much do car salesman make a year?"
"Around $45,000 a year."
"Jules, makes $61,000 a year."
"You got your family settled down. That's over 100K a year."
"I know. I love my kids too much that, I can't do the police thing anymore. People shoot at us. Some people kill us. I don't want to risk that. I know my wife is protected at the station without me."
"Ok. Mr. Spencer, I will call you tomorrow and let you know how you did."
"Thank you so much Tommy. I look forward to hearing from you tomorrow."
Shawn and Tommy shook hands and Shawn went out to his car and drove to the station. On the way to the station, Shawn stopped by Starbucks and got Juilet her favorite drink from there. He pulled into the parking lot and parked next to Juliet's car.
Shawn got out of his car and walked into the station and didn't see Juliet. He went into Karen's office and didn't see Karen either. He went and checked Carlton's desk but didn't see them either.
Shawn went up to Dobson and asked, "Hey man, where is my wife?"
"She is on a case. I can give you the address if you want." Dobson said.
"Please."
Dobson wrote down the address and gave it to him.
Shawn grabbed the note and grabbed himself a bullet proof vest out of his office and the police car keys and took off. He pulled up to the location and went inside.
Shawn took a gun out of the glovebox and went inside.
"Jules?" Shawn whispered.
No answer.
He looked all around the building and then he went into a room and saw his wife tied up with a knife to her throat.
Shawn looked up and saw Juliet's face.
"Jules." Shawn whispered.
Juliet looked up and saw Shawn.
"Don't move." the guy said.
"Ok. Hey man, what's your name?" Shawn asked.
"Brian." Brian said.
"Ok. Hey Brian. I am Shawn Spencer, that's my wife Juliet. We have 4 kids. We just welcomed Maggie, the fourth kid about a month ago."
Brian put the knife down.
"Brian want to see pictures?" Shawn asked.
Brian went over to Shawn and Shawn acted like he was getting his phone but got his handcuffs.
Brian got close enough and Shawn put Brian's hands behind his back and he cuffed him.
"Brian, you have the right to remain silent." Shawn read Brian his rights.
Carlton came around the corner and took Brian to his car.
Shawn ran to Juliet and took the gag out of her mouth.
"Jules." Shawn said.
"Shawn…" Juliet said.
"Yeah, I'm right here."
"Don't leave me."
"It's ok. I'm right here. Let's go. I have treat for you in the car."
"Ok."
Shawn cut Juliet out of her zip ties and then helped her to the car.
Juliet got in the car and waited on Shawn.
Shawn got in the car and said, "Look Jules, I got you Starbucks."
Juliet just looked at Shawn.
"Jules?" Shawn asked.
"Yeah?" Juliet asked.
"Are you ok?"
"No. I'm not. If you were here this wouldn't have happened."
"Ok. I'm sorry that I wasn't here. I had an interview."
"Shawn, please don't leave me."
"Jules, what if I get the job?"
"I don't know. All I know is that I can't protect myself without you here. When you're not here, it feels like a piece of me is missing, the piece that makes me feel safe and calm."
Shawn sighed, "Jules, I want this job really bad."
"I know you do. I know. I don't want to do this if you're not around."
"So you're saying that if I take this job, you will quit your job?"
Juliet nodded.
"Jules, don't do that. If I take this job, and you keep yours, we make over $100,000 a year."
"That's a lot."
"I know. Think about it."
"Ok. Thanks for showing up and bringing me Starbucks."
"You're welcome sweetie."
Juliet kissed Shawn.
While Shawn was driving back to the station, his phone rang.
"Shawn Spencer." Shawn answered his phone.
"Mr. Spencer, it's Tommy." Tommy said.
"Oh hey Tommy. What's up?"
"I was wondering if you would like to start your new job tomorrow."
"Uh sure. Absolutely. Thanks for the call."
Shawn hung up the phone and said, "That was Tommy."
"You took it didn't you?" Juliet asked.
"Jules, it was an offer that I can't decline."
"I know. I guess I'm happy for you."
"You guess?"
"Yeah."
"Why guess?"
"I'm still shaken up about what happened."
"Ok. You know what? When we get to the station, we are dropping off the car and the keys and then we are going to get the kids and go to lunch."
"That sounds fun."
"Will it make you happy?"
"Eh."
"Jules, I can't help you if you don't tell me what you want."
"I want to go home without kids and sleep. Just sleep. I'm exhausted."
"Ok. Ok. How about me and the kids stay at my dad's tonight."
"I want you there."
"Ok. I will get bags for the kids ready when I get home."
"Thank you so much."
"Jules, don't be upset about me getting the new job. I think this happened because we've been moving and getting settled down and tending to 4 kids. I'm tired also."
"You're right."
"Say that again, I didn't hear you."
"I said, you're right."
"That's what I thought."
Shawn pulled into the SBPD parking lot and parked and went inside and brought the keys back to his desk. Juliet was behind him and got her purse and left a note on Karen's desk saying she went home early.
Juliet and Shawn left the SBPD and went home and packed a bag for the kids. Shawn and Juliet left the house and went to his dad's house.
Shawn knocked on the door.
Maddie came to the door and said, "Hey Goose."
"Hey mom. Can you keep the kids tonight?" Shawn asked.
"Aboslutely."
Shawn and Juliet went inside and sat down on the couch.
Maddie went into the kids' room and brought Maggie to Juliet and went and got the boys and told them that their parents are here.
Juliet went and sat down next to Shawn and they looked at Maggie together and looked at each other and said, "Thank you."
"For what?" Shawn asked.
"Giving me a girl."
"You're welcome. Thank you for giving me a girl."
Juliet laughed.
A few minutes later, the boys came down the hall.
"Boys be quiet, mommy's sleeping." Shawn said.
Shawn got up and went into the play room and told the kids, "Boys, you are spending the night here."
"Ok. Love you daddy." Aaron said.
"Love you buddy."
All 3 boys got up and went and hugged Shawn.
"Ok. We got to go. I love you." Shawn said.
"Bye daddy." Cole said.
"Be good."
All 3 boys nodded.
Shawn kissed and hugged each boy and then went back into the living room and picked Maggie up.
"Hey Mags, it's your daddy here. Tonight you need to be a good girl. Tonight is the first time mommy and daddy are leaving you over night. It's hard for us. Especially me, you're my baby girl. I love you. Watch your brothers for me." Shawn said.
Shawn picked Maggie up and kissed her cheek and went and put her in her playpen.
"Mom, we are leaving." Shawn said.
"Alright. Bye. Love you."
"Love you too."
Shawn went over to the couch and picked Juliet up and brought her out to the car. Shawn drove home and got Juliet out of the car and brought her inside and put her in the bed and kissed her head.
As soon as he started to turn around, Juliet grabbed his shirt and said, "Get your ass back here."
Shawn walked back to Juliet and said, "Jules, I need to let the dogs out. I promise it won't take long."
Juliet let go of Shawn's shirt and Shawn took the dogs out and then locked his car and shut the garage and then locked the house up.
Shawn let the dogs in and put them in the cage and then went to the bedroom to lay down next to Juliet.
He got in bed and said, "I'm here Jules. I'm right here, I'm not leaving you. I love you."
"I love you too baby." Juliet said.
Shawn and Juliet kissed and then went to sleep and slept the rest of the day.
