Chapter 26
The Clear
~~(Long Wei's POV)~~
If it wasn't the swirling pillars of pure stone hurling from the roof of the Moon Palace that caused a distinct feeling, or the giant doors sculpted with extreme precision and lots of work. Then I don't know what was so anxious about this place.
Yes, I know it's old and isolated from the village of Wang, but I know the warriors of the kung fu palace protect this village occasionally. Usually, we have town guards and Imperial soldiers to guard this community.
I stood anxiously in front of the doors of the Moon Palace. The letter was in my hand, and I didn't bring anything else. I assumed I didn't need anything at all really.
My body told me to knock on the door. My eyes were locked on them, and finally, I proceeded to go over to them.
I walked over to the door, sighed, and knocked on it with my left paw hard enough so anyone inside could hear someone outside knocking on the door.
I stood back slightly, waiting for an answer from the unknown occupants inside. It wasn't long until someone received my message.
The doors slowly opened up, but in the process, a small stream of light quickly beamed right into my face ironically. It was surprising and actually caught me off guard for a old guy like me.
The first thing that caught my eye was a glowing orb floating in what-seemed-to-be a quite large silver goblet in the median of the hallway. It was a large, glowing ball of light, barely illuminating the interior of the palace.
The interior had an enormous hallway with several pillars made of stone. The pillars had been precisely sculpted to be illusory. They had numerous carvings and engraves on the faces.
The walls were quite substantial and deep in thickness, for though it seemed. It seemed that the walls that swallowed the hallway had the material of sand! It was something I've never seen before.
The design of this structure was unequivocally sui generis. It stood out from most of the places I've been to. Very ironic that I've never been to it and it was near my own village.
But there was also a small, but young snow leopard right in front of me. She was wearing a white shenyi, brown sandals, and a silver ear ring. Her eyes were the color of the sky. The blue around her pupils could been seen valleys away.
Her expression on her face showed curiosity and wonder. The tone of her voice also shared the same characteristics.
"You must be our invitee." she said.
I looked into her eyes, the faint breath of tea filled the gap between us, she spoke so quickly and confidently.
"Oh...yes...it's a pleasure to meet you!" I bowed slowly and surely.
She returned a bow and smiled, and she took a step aside to let me walk through. I then took a step onto the cold, marble floor.
As I took a step toward the goblet, the snow leopard shut the door behind me. Leaving the room fully illuminated by the orb. She then walked back beside me and started toward the median. I followed her patiently.
"I didn't introduce myself, I'm Master Bao, sorry for not telling you earlier." she stated.
"Long Wei," I said, "It's fine. I'm just...amazed by this architecture and this..."
She stopped and looked up at me. Her blue eyes sparkled from the light, giving a light glow from her orbs.
I tried to spit out what was in front of me, it seemed that the object that colonized the room with abstract decoration and elegance was a unique fantasy.
"The Clear?" she asked. Her smile fainted.
"Uh.." I stuttered.
"The item you can observe from here is quite the unusual is it not?" the snow leopard uttered.
I nodded briefly. She put on her faint smile again, "Well, you see the orb is called...The Clear." she informed. I raised my eyebrow slightly, "The Clear?" I asked.
"Let me explain, come." she declared.
She began to trail towards the goblet, I began to trail behind her, listening to her information she was giving.
"The Clear was discovered years ago. It was actually found glowing in the lake behind the village of Wang." she added.
The Clear was centered on the goblet, the goblet wasn't very tall, in fact it was about waist-high for me. It was about as tall as her.
"It was discovered when the initial construction of the community began. They believed it was something that came from one of great divinity," she explained.
I walked over to The Clear. It was like a tiny moon. I wonder if this is the reason why the moon palace was built.
"Is this why this palace is here?" I asked.
She twisted her head around and looked at me, "Yes." she said. Master Bao rubbed her eyes softly. She yawned while covering her mouth with her paw, "It's also the cause of the title of this place." she described.
"Is it really from a divine?" I questioned.
"We...don't know exactly where it came from, but we believe that it wasn't here by accident." she acknowledged.
I stared into it. It appeared to be smooth on the surface, I wonder if it was hollow, or what it's made of."
"What is it made of?" I asked once more.
She shrugged, "We just don't know. This is why it's so precious and valuable."
"Yeah," I replied, then I realized what I was here for, "Oh! So what about Master Nuo? He was expected to see me." I told her.
She smiled, "He's meditating right now. Yes, he is in desire of a weapon for his son. He's quite the explorer."
"I'm surprised he requested me." I joked.
She chuckled gently, "Master Nuo is very wise, but he said he wanted to meet you in person."
That's all for this chapter!
