chapter 26: Asura's Return?!, A clash of Gods to rule them all?

Naruto and Tsubaki felt their blood run cold while Black Star cackled and they all watched the bag glow more and more with feeling the ominous presence inside it grow.
"Hahahaha! Come out!" Black Star laughed. "And give me the powers of a real god! HAHAHAHA!"
Shaula felt the air turn cold as the bag started to convulse like some kind of insect. 'No, I can't lose my chance to infect him. When he comes out I'll strike!'
"Boy, what have you done?" glared Mifune at Black Star.
"I'm becoming a god!" He laughed. "After all, I was taught by that damn kishin after I got his stupid book. Now after eating so many souls and gaining their powers I'll ascend to the heavens as the new god of this world! Hahahaha!"
'He has fallen into the way of the demon.'
'Black Star...it can't be.' spoke Tsubaki close to tears since she was horrified and felt bad for her previous meister.
"You were a pain before, but this is bat shit insane!" yelled Naruto while glaring at the cocky boy. "You've doomed the whole planet you idiot!"
"Oh shut up witch spawn!" He snapped while moving his wings violently. "Once I get this guy out, I'll use my powers to wipe you all off the face of the earth and make that bitch my divine baby maker for my lineage!"
"The hell you will!" growled Naruto who felt his inner rage slowly rising up which was causing him to subconsciously tap into Kurama's chakra. "It'll be a cold day in hell before I let you touch my sister!"
Black Star snickered while tilting his head up. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you get a front row seat for when I take her right there."
He snapped while slowly causing a dark red aura to form from his body.
'Shit! Kit don't lose control! You're not ready to use my chakra!'
Mifune and Shaula were caught off guard seeing the aura, but all of them suddenly saw the energy from the bag slowly stop and it became suddenly unnervingly quiet. No one spoke as it became as silent as a tomb.
Rip.
Rip.
RIP!
They all saw it suddenly begin to twitch with something moving before a face and hands appeared inside and saw a figure slowly start to actually stretch out against it and away from the bag while it made them look like they were made out of putty.
The figure's face looked like a faceless doll as it's face almost looked like a sleeping child's mask. It kept on moving out while the bag slowly clung around it with legs forming before it pushed itself up on them and wobbled a little.
Maka shivered at the being as it moved closer to her. 'T-This is the kishin?!'
It slowly opened its eyes and stared at her.
"..."
"..."
"..."
It rubbed at it's eyes before it suddenly opened its mouth. "AHHHHHHHHHH!"
"AHHHH!" screamed Maka on instinct and reaction.
"AHHHHHHHH!"
"AHHHHHHHH!"
"AHHHHHHHHH!" they both screamed while Maka felt her nerves shot as she dropped down and shivered while the being slowly stopped and stood up just as it found several swords shot out and embed themselves in it's chest.
"I won't allow you to leave this room." spoke Mifune taking a stance as Asura slowly looked at the weapons in his chest before flicking the first one and suddenly all of them shattered from a powerful shockwave that everyone there felt. 'W-What the?!'
"Hahaha!" Black Star laughed. "The kishin is back! And now give me the godhood you promised me!"
Asura slowly cracked his neck and turned to the boy before letting out in a groan. "Soon, very soon."
'Maka! Snap out of it!' called Soul while the girl was shaking.
"H-He's...oozing….with….evil…"
Shaula pried herself out of the pillar with a hiss before readying her hand with several sharp rings and narrowed her eyes before sending her ponytail out to Asura and wrapped it around his ankle before using it to launch herself towards him before swinging her hand down near his arm and scratched across it with a dark grin. "You're mine now!"
He slowly turned before moving his arm faster than the eye could see and hit her in the face.
She stopped while looking confused before a large indent appeared on her face as she was sent flying with a very bloody nose.
"It's too cold in here." he spoke before grabbing at his shoulder and literally started to stretch the skin out making Soul, Maka, and Tsubaki cringe and feel sick before he did it to the other one and literally managed to stretch it out to where long scarfs were formed with part of them covering his face with three eyes on them. He then moved the scarfs, which were now gaining hand like ends, up before making a hole in the ceiling. "I need some sunlight!"
"Hey! What about my godhood!" called Black Star before using his wings to fly up just as it snapped the others out of their daze.
'Maka! We gotta go after them!'
'Soul is right! Naruto snap out of it!' called Tsubaki while feeling intense heat from his hands due to the aura around him.
"That bastard!" he growled before jumping onto the statue and used it to get to the hole before he started climbing up the sides with Tsubaki dangling around his neck with the chains.
'Naruto!'
"I'll end that little bastard!" He growled in pure rage.
'Maka! We gotta go after them!'
She nodded before following after Naruto, leaving Mifune with the witch.
"Damn that brat." Shaula growled. "He ruined everything!"
"And you started it." glared Mifune holding two swords. "You lied to all of us, about it all, and now you'll pay."
"Go ahead, kill me and I'll make Angela's life a living hell with my familiars." glared Shaula while Mifune narrowed his eyes. "I prepared in case of everything, except that child, but my plan will go through, so you can either listen to me and help me get close to him, or I send the signal to them and you live the rest of your life knowing you failed."
'She's playing with fire right now, especially with Kaguya protecting her.' "Don't count on it witch, your plan is already dead."
"It's a minor set back."
"Then why are you here while your so called 'king' is disgusted by you?"
She scowled and clenched her hand. "He'll know after I have Asura under my control, he might have managed to fight my poison with the first strike, but when I get up there I'll fill him with so much he'll be a completely obedient slave."
Mifune sighed before quickly using the butt end of one of his swords on her stomach before giving her a nerve jab to the neck. "In your twisted dreams."
Her eyes widened as her ponytail lashed out and cut into Mifune's side drawing blood before she fell down and slowly passed.
He looked at the wound, and sighed as it didn't look serious or infected by poison. 'Must've been instinctive. Well better get her back up to face some justice.' he carefully picked her up and jumped on to the statue before using several of his swords into the sides as stepping stones to head upwards.
(Halfway to the surface)
BANG!
The last scorpion fell to the ground as Liz, Patty and Eruka panted in fear and relief, well only for Liz and Eruka that is.
"Ha! Let's do it again!" Patty laughed with a grin.
Mizune shook her head no.
As for Kidd, he was still out cold and seeing the light.
"We gotta get through!" spoke Eruka holding up two tadpole bombs before a huge shaking was felt along with a foreboding chill that hit them all and snapped Kidd out of it.
RUMBLE!
CRASH!
"Freedom!"
"Get back with my godhood you bastard!" Yelled a creature with Black Star's voice before something came crashing towards the ceiling
"Incoming!" yelled Liz before they scattered and saw bits of the ceiling come down while Kidd frowned.
"We're too late."
"Fuck." Mizune cursed while seeing them rush to the surface.
"Let's fuck that guy up!" Patty said seriously.
Liz shivered before Kidd brought his board out with the sisters becoming guns in his hands as he headed up the small hole with Eruka shivering.
"M-M-Maybe we should stay here."
Mizune deadpanned before whispering coldly. "Go up or I'll tell Naruto my feelings first, while you're hogtied like a little bitch."
"Hey!" she frowned before seeing her friend shoot up the hole as she quickly summoned Otama Jackson and hopped on his back before he started bouncing. "Don't even try it!"
'Wait! What about the kitty?' asked Patty to Kidd.
'Oh damn! Kidd we need to turn back or Naruto might get pissed!'
He groaned before turning around to get the magic cat before she got crushed by any falling debris. "Fine, but I'm fixing her hat so it lines up if she stays unconscious." before he reached down and picked her up with a grunt.
'Just book it!' Liz yelled as they fly back towards the surface.
(One fifth of the way up)
Medusa continued to heal her daughter while Stein was still dumbfounded about Arachne and her daughter being at the dance without him noticing.
"Ugh….." Crona groaned while slowly feeling her body getting better.
"It'll be alright Crona, but you need to take it easy for a few days."
"Yes….kaa-san…"
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE!
CRASH!
Medusa and Stein went wide eyed while Crona groaned and shared a look that said 'It's happening? Right now?'
"I'm free!"
"Get back here and give me my godhood!" Black Star snapped in rage.
"No, we're too late." spoke Stein with a frown while Medusa gripped her knees before going wide eyed.
"Wait, what about the kids?"
That was when they felt something else, something darker and more primal.
"BLACK STAR!"
'What was that? Wait, that was Naruto!' thought Medusa standing up. "We need to get up to the surface, now."
"Agreed, but what's going on with his soul? It's like a personified force of nature now."
"Just hurry!"
(Above ground)
Asura took in some deep air and exhaled while hovering in the air while Black Star was on the ground. "It's been so long since I could breath such clean air."
"Hey!" Black Star growled. "I got you out of that bag, now keep your end of the deal and make me a god!"
Asura didn't respond before Naruto jumped out of the hole and crashed down near him with his eyes looking red with slits and Tsubaki still around his neck while his teeth seemed sharper.
"ASURA!" He roared while looking almost demonic in nature. "YOU AND THAT BASTARD ARE DEAD!"
'Naruto calm down!'
At that point Maka and Soul got out of the hole while looking at Naruto as Mifune jumped out and landed down while his eyes widened slightly. That's when the ground near them however shook and saw four black things stretch out with skulls on them going to Asura.
"Are those-?" spoke the kishin seeing them slide over his arms and legs with them wrapping around and digging nails into him. "It seems Death's seal are still in tact."
That was when the others got out and Black Star growled.
"Damn you worms! Can't you just stay buried!" He growled while moving his tail wildly.
"Black Star?!" cried out Stein, Kidd, Liz, Patty, Mizune, Eruka, and Medusa while a certain werewolf ran over to the area while blinking.
"Wow, so that's what the kishin looks like." he remarked before he looked over and spotted Shaula near Mifune. 'Guess he changed sides, Shaula's gonna be pissed.' that's when he saw people look up at the sky before he turned and saw Lord Death himself hovering in the air with four skulls under him projecting flames. "Guess I over exaggerated on the time frame."
Naruto himself didn't notice Lord Death, or how Asura casually started tearing the seals off, all he did was glare at Black Star with the others noticing the aura.
'Kit! For the love of Kami get a grip on yourself!'
"Grrrrrr! ROAR!" He cried out while gaining a long red tail of aura. "DIE!"
"Oh no, Naruto." muttered Medusa in horror while Crona groaned as Stein held her on his back. 'This can't be, is he going out of control?'
Black Star growled while Naruto started to become more fox like. "You may have fancy powers, but I'm above you in all things under the heavens! And you shall die witch spawn!"
"ROOOOOOAAARRRR!" Naruto roared while some of the aura covered Tsubaki as he slashed an arc of liquid energy at him.
Black Star smirked and easily jumped over it before the arc crashed into a building and caused it to come crashing down surprising the onlookers while Asura's face was slowly revealed to Lord Death with a frown and with hair that looked like numerous eyes.
"Death."
"Hiya, it's been a long time." he casually remarked.
"Your voice, it sounds annoying."
"Well I've gotten so use to it over the years I hardly noticed. I'm more surprised at how less clothing you have on compared to last time."
Asura smirked. "It's better to have some skin then clothes from nine hundred years ago." He then frowned. "But thanks to the brat, my spirit was able to be removed from the Book of Asura, and inhibit him till this day."
"I see, now what are you going to do with him?"
"Like I'd tell you old friend." he glanced down at Naruto. "I never expected a child like that to hold such evil power to him, you must be so proud."
"This is new to me as much as it is to you." remarked Lord Death. "But what's not new is you going back down there, now."
His face became covered. "I think not-"
SLASH!
Asura went wide eyed as a liquid arc went right passed him, cutting part of his scarf off and making it burn, as the boy roared in pure rage and kept on attacking Black Star.
"Oh? Seems some of your clothes got cut." Lord Death remarked before he brought his hand back and slammed it into Asura, sending him flying down and crashing into the ground.
Black Star laughed as he kept on dodging the attacks. "You can't beat a god!"
"DIE!" roared Naruto who was going off basic instinct, which was to end Black Star and swung his tail out, but Black Star dodged it leading to the tail causing a huge fissure when it hit the ground through three buildings.
Medusa went pale white as she didn't know what to do to save her son.
"We need to get back, now." spoke Stein while the others ran over to them. "Everyone get clear of the area, we can't get in Lord Death's way."
'What about Naruto? He's still acting like a smaller version of Godzilla!' Soul yelled while some building were getting destroyed left and right.
"Onii...chan…." mumbled Crona while Medusa felt conflicted.
'If we stay here more people will get hurt, but Naruto is close to the Kishin and might die! What should I do?!'
Black Star laughed as he caused Naruto to destroy more buildings. "Go ahead! Kill me, I dare you witch spawn!"
"DIE!" he roared before lunging at Black Star and swiped at his face.
He dodged while hitting him with his tail, only for the aura to burn it. "GAH!" 'What the?! I-It burned me?!'
"TIME TO DIE!" he growled before suddenly finding himself slapped away from a light tap due to one of the long scarves of Asura.
"Annoying." He said with a frown while getting back up. He looked at Lord Death before grinning as his scarves rose up. "It's been so long since I felt my flesh get torn off me Death, why don't you help remind me!" before they lashed out at the reaper.
Lord Death's eyes glowed before projecting a powerful field around him as they made contact before energy traveled down them to Asura and inflicted several wounds on him.
However instead of normal blood, it was pitch black and covered in a dark aura.
Lord Death glared down at him as the wounds began to quickly close up on their own.
"I see, so my blood is black now." He muttered before smirking. "How fascinating!"
"Even if you have black blood, I'm still going to reap you!" Lord Death said before making another energy blast.
Asura put his hands together and rose his index and middle finger together while it stood on his left hand before two glowing red circles formed in front of him before they opened like eyes and fired two beams out that clashed against his own, but with more power.
Lord Death raised his hand up before a hole appears and the attack was sucked up into it. That's when he flew on down before swinging his hand, but Asura's scarves moved up and blocked it before Lord Death tried again, only for them to lash forward and send him flying back into a building.
CRASH!
"Come at me witch spawn!" Black Star yelled out. "I dare you to kill a god!"
Naruto felt his anger keep on increasing while his friends had to run off from the area, but what he didn't notice was a black arrow appearing on his arms before he lunged and swung, but the arrow on his arm glowed and seemed to fill with energy which was shown when Black Star narrowly dodged, but the power was enough to blow his hair back slightly and sent a shockwave that went through three buildings alone.
"Gah!" He yelled out. "What the hell?!"
"DIE!"
'Naruto stop!' Tsubaki called out. 'You're not like this!'
Naruto tried again, only this time he swung his arm up in a fist that slammed into Black Star's gut with the arrow glowing and sent him careening down the street where the boy skidded and rolled across it making cracks.
"Ow!" 'What's going on?! How is he hitting me now?!' Black Star thought before taking flight. "You little worm!"
Medusa watched around the corner and smiled. 'Good shot Naruto, make that bastard pay.'
Naruto growled as he sent another arc of energy at Black Star, only to see the boy dodge it and fly right towards him.
"Taste my pow-"
PUNCH!
CRUNCH!
"GRRRR!" Naruto growled while punching the boy in the face, breaking his nose and sending him flying into several buildings. "RRROOOOOAAARRRR!"
'Maybe if I can link my wavelength up with his I can get through to him, but it'll be risky.'
Naruto growled before charging right at Black Star and grabbed his wings before pulling hard on them. "DIE!"
RRRRIIIPPP!
"GAH!" cried out Black Star feeling blood. "YOU BASTARD!"
He growled before grabbing the tail and began pulling on it. "YOU SHALL,"
RRRRIIIPPP!
"DIE!" He roared while pulling the tail right off as blood covered his face and shirt.
"AHHH!" screamed Black Star while glaring at Naruto. "I'll...kill you!"
"DIE!" He roared while grabbing his neck and got ready to crush his windpipe.
'Naruto!' yelled Tsubaki before she started to try and sync her wavelength up with him.
Naruto growled while not moving for some reason. He narrowed his eyes while feeling a more calm sensation go through his body.
'Naruto! Snap out of it!' Tsubaki called out while the aura started to decrease.
"T….T…..subaki….?"
'You have to keep it together! He's not worth it!'
Naruto's eyes returned to normal before seeing Black Star in his grasp. "Huh?"
"G….Gah….you….bastard…." he gasped out in pain.
"Wha...what's going on?" he muttered in shock before there was a loud crash and turned to see Asura getting pinned down to the ground due to a large translucent glowing skull face with Lord Death flying back up.
"I won't let you get away."
"You no longer have the power over me." He said while expelling a Vajra from his mouth. He pushed up harder before the skull shattered and lunged up with his hands together. "Vajra!"
A red energy appeared at the tip before sending a massive blast right at the reaper. Lord Death quickly brought up a shield while Asura clashed against it with the shockwave getting held back while both struggled to keep the other one back.
CRASH!
But some of the energy was diverted from the shield to the many buildings below. They were blown away to debris while Lord Death felt the pressure was more than he remembered.
Asura increased the energy while some magic circles appeared on each side and opened to release two more energy blasts.
'I can't let him get by me even an inch.' thought Lord Death who didn't notice the cracks on his shield slowly appear.
That was when the energy blasts increased in force and started to fuse into one.
SHATTER!
Lord Death went wide eyed when Asura broke through and took off part of his mask and face with part of his left shoulder taken too.
CRASH!
Asura smirked. "Such an old fossil." He then turned and saw Black Star's state. 'For the love of!'
Lord Death shook his head and saw Asura's scarf grab Black Star and flew up to the air before he took flight himself and sent out black tendrils with skulls on the end towards him. "You won't get away!" But as they got closer, they became repelled by an unknown force. "No!"
Asura stopped and turned with Lord Death stopping too making the kishin smirk. "Goodbye Death, we won't meet again."
"I'll kill you witch spawn!" Black Star growled as they flew off. "No one disfigures a god! NO ONE!"
Lord Death watched them go while feeling a deep feeling of guilt and disappointment in himself. 'I should've ended him in the past and destroyed his blasted book instead of letting either of them live.'
Down in the city Spirit looked up at the sky like everyone else and gritted his teeth while clenching his hands. 'Damn it! I couldn't get to him on time, I failed as a death scythe.'
As for Naruto, he was slowly realizing what he just done and fell to his knees. "I...I lost it…"
'Yes you did kit.' remarked Kurama.
"But I lost it…." he muttered sadly.
'It'll be alright Naruto.' spoke Tsubaki before transforming to her human form and put a hand on his back.
He turned away. "It's not ok."
"Naruto!" called Eruka running over with Mizune behind her. "Are you alright? What happened? What was that red stuff? What-"
Mizune covered her mouth and shook her head.
"Mmm!"
"Naruto." Tsubaki said.
He didn't reply as he looked distant for obvious reasons. 'I lost it and did that, I don't even remember what happened down there, but I still messed up and let the kishin get away.'
Medusa looked sad at that before seeing Lord Death floating towards them.
"Medusa, we need to talk." he spoke while his injury remained.
"I know." She frowned. "But I have one request, don't touch my children."
"Relax, there's already been enough destruction for one night, but I will need you and the others to stay in some of the guest rooms in the school as a precaution."
She nodded before Sid and some other guards moved over to Mifune who set Shaula down.
"I must ask you to put your weapons down and come with us."
He nodded while putting the swords down. "Fine."
The guards moved over and picked Shaula up while they escorted Mifune away just as Blair began to slowly wake up on the ground next to Kidd and the Thompson sisters.
"Ugh...what hit me?" She groaned in pain. "A pumpkin cannon?"
"No, we did." frowned Liz while Blair sat up and rubbed her forehead.
"Huh? What happened, and where's Naruto?"
"You went evil on us and attacked with killer pumpkins."
"And they were so cool!" Patty laughed. "Like killer dinosaur giraffe monsters!"
Blair stood up and spotted Naruto with the other girls. She smiled and moved over, but stopped when Kidd put his hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, but you'll have to come with me." he frowned while more guards walked over.
"Um….can't I just go and write an apology letter?"
"No, but I do ask that you fix those sleeves of yours, the right is moved up and not equal to the left."
"No." She frowned. "Their fashionable."
"Then give Kidd a boobie hug!" Patty laughed.
"No!" she hissed and pushed his hand off and walked before the guards cut her off with frowns.
"Stay or else."
She gulped. "Um, you wouldn't hurt a lady right?"
Both looked at each other before saying. "We're gay lady."
'Crap.' She thought with sweat dripping down her spine. 'I wish I knew how to turn into a hunk!'
"If you come with us for questioning there shouldn't be a problem, but you're still an accomplish to what happened so I can't make a promise." spoke Kidd while looking dead serious.
"Um…..ok. Just don't take my hat."
Naruto and the others saw some guards move towards them and sighed. 'This is the worst day of my life.'
'This is going to be tricky, especially now that the whole world is in danger.' thought Lord Death.
