Enjoy!
Albus woke up in complete darkness. It took a few groggy moments before his senses kicked in. Then he felt Scorpius' arm wrapped around him, and heard the soft breathing of the sleeping Slytherin. Because it was so dark Albus decided that it must still be the middle of the night. Albus was usually a very heavy sleeper, but it didn't surprise him that such a drastic change in locale had messed up his sleep schedule. He was sure he would fall back asleep soon. He took the few moments he had to himself to consider his situation, as he hadn't been thinking too clearly the night before. He was spending the night with Scorpius. He knew enough about the Slytherin to know that he didn't allow overnight guests very often. So obviously Albus was special, right? Scorpius had wanted him to spend the night for a reason. Or maybe he had used it as a ploy to get the Gryffindor to show. Perhaps Scorpius knew that Albus wouldn't have come down to the dungeons just for a quickie.
"Shit." Albus cursed suddenly. The dungeons! With no windows to let sunlight in, the darkness of the dorm was really no indicator of time. Suddenly Albus got a sick feeling in his stomach. He instinctively knew that it wasn't the middle of the night, and he began rooting around under the pillows for a wand. He found Scorpius' before his own, but his jostling had woken the blond, at least somewhat.
"Wha's going on." Scorpius mumbled.
"Tempus." Albus said, giving the wand a little swish. Then a moment later, "SHIT."
Well that got Scorpius' attention. His eyes shot open.
"What? What's happening?" He asked, looking around. But Albus had already jumped out of bed.
"I have potions in five minutes!" Albus exclaimed, trying to collect his things. "Shit, I don't have my robes!" He groaned. "I'm dead. I'm so dead."
Scorpius, finally understanding the situation, rolled his eyes. "Calm down. You can use mine."
"You are half a foot taller than me." Albus retorted.
Scorpius just rolled his eyes again, "You are a wizard aren't you? Just shrink them."
"But then how will you wear them?"
Scorpius was beginning to realize that Albus was not at his brightest first thing in the morning.
"I'll unshrink them."
"Oh, right..." Albus replied looking embarrassed. He quickly dressed while Scorpius grabbed one of his ties and transfigured it to Gryffindor colors.
"Here." He said, handing it to Albus, he was standing looking in a mirror while shrinking his clothing.
"Thanks." He replied, messily tying it around his neck. As soon as he was finished he grabbed his bag and tried to run out of the room, but a hand on his wrist stopped him.
"Don't I get a goodbye?" Scorpius asked.
Albus smiled. "Um, bye. And thanks." He leaned down and gave Scorpius a quick kiss. Scorpius tried to deepen it, but Albus immediately pulled away.
"I have to go!" He urged, "I'll bring back your uniform, promise!" He said, running out the door.
As soon as Albus left the room was silent. But it didn't stay that way for long.
"So, what are you two, like, married now?" Came a voice from behind the closed curtains of Jaysen's bed.
"Shove it." Scorpius snarled back, shooting a glare towards the other boy, even though he wasn't able to see it.
"Scorpius I've shared a room with you for six years and I have never seen you let anyone spend the night."
This time the voice came from behind the curtains of Andy's bed.
"Stephanie." Scorpius responded, proving that he had let someone sleep in his bed before.
"That doesn't count," Andy replied.
"Whatever," Scorpius said climbing back in his bed and closing the curtains. Even with the curtains closed he could hear Jaysen singing faintly.
"Scor and Albus sitting in a tree. F-U-C-K-I-N-G."
Scorpius sighed, rolled over and tried to go back to sleep.
Albus arrived at Potions with approximately 30 seconds to spare. His late arrival caused a stir in the classroom, as many of his classmates had not seen him since the previous morning and the infamous howler. Luckily for him, no one had taken his normal seat next to Rosie, probably because no one could fathom the idea that Albus Potter wasn't going to show up for class.
"Morning." Albus greeted his cousin happily. He was surprised to see her glaring back at him.
"Morning? Are you kidding me? Where have you been?" She whispered at him furiously. Luckily for Albus their professor began speaking and therefor he could not respond. For the next hour Albus sat awkwardly, while Rosie turned to glare at him every few minutes. He was careful to keep the black robes he was wearing closed, otherwise she would she the Slytherin crest stitched over the breast pocket of his shirt. Albus wasn't quite sure why Rose was angry, but he had a feeling that letting her know he was wearing Scorpius' clothes wouldn't make the situation any better.
As soon as the lecture ended Rosie immediately began packing up her things.
"Follow me." She said sternly before walking out of the classroom. Albus practically had to run to keep up with her. They walked until there were no other students around them and then Rosie stopped and turned to face him.
"You run out of the Great Hall yesterday after that howler and then I don't see you ALL DAY! I checked the library and about a hundred empty classrooms and then I went back to the common room and waited for you until PAST CURFEW! Finally, this morning I wait for you to go down to breakfast and Dylan tells me that you never came home last night. Then you waltz into Potions from Merlin knows where, with a big grin like you just got back from holiday!"
Albus gave her a few moments to catch her breath before responding.
"I spent the night with Scorpius." He said quietly, although no one was around.
Rosie gaped at him. "You spent the night... with Scorpius..." She repeated slowly. Albus nodded back.
"Oh." Was all she could seem to say.
"Um, we don't have to talk about it." He said after a minute of awkward silence. "If you don't want to."
Rosie had stopped gaping, but now she was looking at Albus very strangely.
"Albus are you happy?" She asked him. Albus hadn't been expecting this. He blushed slightly, which he imagined was all the answer Rosie needed, by he answered her anyways.
"Yeah, I really am." He replied. Rosie sighed, as if giving up on some idea in her head.
"Yeah. Well. We should get to transfiguration." She said finally. And then she turned and started to walk down the hall.
The rest of the day Rosie more or less gave Albus the silent treatment. Albus wasn't even sure it was intentional, he imagined that she just really didn't know how to feel about him and Scorpius, which was fair because Albus didn't know how he felt about it either. He hadn't lied to his cousin, he did feel happy with Scorpius, but there was also always this underlying doubt, lurking, reminding him of all the things that the Slytherin had done. By the time lessons were over for the day Albus was happy to have a break from his cousin. She went off with Amy and Grace somewhere and Albus was able to go to his room and change out of Scorpius' clothes. However no sooner had he walked through the portrait hole than his sister spotted him and dragged him over to an armchair in the common room.
"Where were you? You were with Scorpius weren't you? Did you stay the night? Did you go all the way? Are you guys like for real dating now? Please you have to tell me!"
"Lily, take a breath." Albus said, trying to stop the incessant questioning.
"No fair, I know you already told Rosie. That's why she was all pouty at lunch today."
"All I told her was that I spent the night. And that's all I'm going to tell you." Albus stated calmly, but Lily wasn't having it.
"Puh-lease. You've been dying to tell someone, and I know it. So out with it!"
Albus couldn't help but laugh, Lily knew him too well.
"Alright fine."
After Albus had given Lily the details of the night before (PG version, she was his little sister after all) she was practically bouncing in her seat.
"Will you calm down?" Albus sent her a disapproving look, but she didn't seem to mind.
"How can I calm down, this is just too perfect. You fall for Scorpius and then you get a crazy make over and now he's falling for you! It's like Cinderella or something."
"Except that you're wrong, he's not falling for me. I'm just his boy-toy of the week probably." Albus frowned. He was trying to be practical, Scorpius losing interest in him in the next few months was the most likely outcome of his situation. It was best to be prepared.
"More like boy-toy for the past few months! And you've been toying with him just as much. Why are you so worried? He asked you to spend the night, and you guys clearly have chemistry." She raised her eyebrows and smirked on the last point as if to say that she could guess some of the more mature details that Albus had left out of his stories.
"Ugh, can we not talk about this anymore?" Albus asked, "It's getting creepy."
"Well we could talk about the howler, if you would rather." Lily said watching Albus for a reaction.
"Not that either." Albus leaned back in his armchair and closed his eyes, "That was terrible."
"It was pretty bad." Lily admitted. "Did you write them back?"
Albus nodded.
"What did you say?" She leaned in closer, clearly very curious.
Albus shrugged, "I just said that I was sorry and that I would never do it ever again."
"Hm." Was all his sister said in reply.
"What?" He questioned her, slightly defensive.
"Well, I was just wondering when you are planning on telling them. Christmas would have been a good time. Don't get me wrong I get why you didn't, but now we're not home till summer. You can't very well wait until then."
"Why not?" Albus was confused, "Why should they know before then?"
"Albus!" Lily exclaimed, "You are spending the night in Scorpius Malfoy's bed. At this rate you'll be dating by end of term. Don't you think the 'I'm gay' conversation and the 'I'm dating Scorpius Malfoy' conversation should have a nice little break between them? At least a couple weeks!"
"Lily, Scorpius doesn't do relationships, he's never going to be my boyfriend." Albus put air-quotes around the word boyfriend just to emphasis how ridiculous the whole idea was. "And I don't see why I have to tell mom and dad about anything. They are already mad enough."
Lily looked startled by his last words, "Albus, they won't be angry about this. You know that!"
"Yeah, yeah, I know." He admitted. "But you know they aren't going to like the idea of me doing anything with Scorpius. I can't tell them about him."
"You can." She assured him, "And you should. The sooner the better."
Albus shrugged. He wanted to do what Lily said, to confide in his parents. He wanted them on his side again, and he wanted them to understand where he was coming from. But at the same time his relationship with Scorpius was so perilous. Albus felt like anything could bring it crashing down around him, and he had a bad feeling that his parents would be that thing.
"I'm tired Lily, I'm going to go lay down."
"Yeah, okay." She replied. "Think about what I said, okay?"
"Yeah, I will." He promised.
The next time Scorpius was woken up that day was not by someone leaving his bed but by someone getting in it.
"You skipped class." Stephanie said after she had sat at the foot of his bed. She began poking his leg until her answered her.
"Uuhhnn." He finally responded hoping she would get the message to go away.
"Charms is in 30 minutes." She said, still poking him with her finger.
"Yeah," Scorpius muttered, "But that's not why you're here is it?" He opened his eyes to see Stephanie smirking down at him.
"Smart boy." She grinned, "Now tell me everything."
Scorpius looked around the dorm and saw most of the beds empty. However Jaysen's curtains were closed around his bed and Scorpius couldn't tell if he was inside.
"No one is here." Stephanie said rolling her eyes. "Why? What's the big secret."
Scorpius took a deep breath, almost not able to believe the words that he was about to say. "I like him." He started. Stephanie snorted. "Let me finish!" Scorpius demanded. "I like him a lot. And it's different than I have ever felt before." He wanted to say more but he didn't know quite how to put it into words. Stephanie didn't say a thing, she just sat, waiting for more.
"I like falling asleep next to him, and waking up next to him, and seeing how clueless he is first thing in the morning." Scorpius grinned slightly before he could stop himself.
"Merlin." Stephanie said. Scorpius imagined that she had meant to just say it in her own head, it had been barely more than a whisper, but that it had slipped out.
"And now I'm royally fucked." He muttered. "Remember when this was all some big joke? I'm in too deep. I have no idea what I'm doing now."
Stephanie leaned over and pulled her friend in a very large hug. "Why are boys such idiots?" She asked him, before releasing him. There was a large smile on her face.
"Why is it that I always seem to be the biggest idiot of them all?" He asked her hopelessly. She just laughed at him.
"Will you stop worrying? Everything is fine now. Everything will be fine. Albus likes you and you like him and you aren't going to fuck up again like last time."
"But what if I do?"
Stephanie rolled her eyes again, "Just don't." She said without a hint of sympathy.
He sighed loudly and she rolled her eyes again, only this time with a smile on her face.
"Really, and here I thought Andrew was giving me trouble." She laughed.
"Why? What's Andrew done?" Scorpius asked her.
"He came to me, begging for ideas on how to surprise Tess for Valentine's Day. He's so hopeless, there isn't a romantic bone in his entire body."
"Valentine's Day!" Scorpius practically shouted.
"Yes?" Stephanie asked, confused by his sudden outburst.
"When is it?"
"Are you joking?" She questioned, surely he wasn't serious, but the look on his face showed that he was indeed serious. "It's Thursday. Honestly, it's all people are talking about around the castle this week, maybe if you ever left this bed you wouldn't be so clueless all the time."
"I should do something for Albus." Scorpius announced.
"Duh." Stephanie responded, but Scorpius didn't react, he was already deep in thought.
"Do you need my help as well?" Stephanie asked with a smirk.
"No," Scorpius smirked back, "In fact, I have a wonderful idea."
Rosie wandered down to the common room around dinner time and found Albus sitting by the fire reading a thick volume. She called out to him and he turned and smiled at her, giving her a friendly wave.
"Dinner?" He asked as she approached him. She nodded, flushed with relief. She felt slightly guilty for how hard she had been on him earlier that day. She never knew how to handle her cousin's new friendship with the Slytherin crowd. Especially his relationship with Malfoy. She had always had Albus to herself and now he didn't even seem like hers anymore, he has morphed into some new person that she almost couldn't recognize. But at least he wasn't holding a grudge, Albus never could hold a grudge. She smiled knowing that at least that part of him was still the same.
Albus had closed his book and was stashing it in his bag. Then he stood and walked towards the entrance to the common room with her. They began discussing an article about the Minister of Magic that had been in the paper that morning. Albus, having slept through breakfast, hadn't read the article till that evening, and she was excited to hear his opinion on it. However no sooner had the fat lady swung closed behind them, then Rose heard excited shouts of "Albus!" from down the hallway. Rushing towards them were Wendy Damille and Tess Burke. Rose scowled involuntarily, and then after realizing that she was scowling quickly tried to cover it up, by scratching her nose, pretending that she had an itch. Wendy and Tess didn't seem to notice, they were rushing towards Albus excitedly.
"We've been waiting for you!" They said practically in unison.
"Whatever for?" Albus laughed. He looked so happy to be talking to them, it made Rose want to hurl.
"We need to talk to you about something." Wendy stated.
"Yeah, in private." Tess added glancing at Rose.
"We were just heading to dinner." Rose replied, hoping they would get the hint.
"I can just meet you there!" Albus replied, starting to walk off with the two girls.
"But-" Rosie started, but couldn't really think of anything to say.
"Save me a seat!" He called from down the hallway.
"Yeah, ok." She replied glumly, but she didn't think anyone even heard her. They were already gone.
"Your cousin looked seriously peeved." Tess said once the group of them had rounded the corner of the hallway.
"What do you mean?" Albus asked. He hadn't noticed anything.
"She was glaring at us the whole time." Wendy laughed.
"Oh," Albus felt bad that he had been so oblivious. "Well she was pretty angry at me this morning for disappearing last night. I think I really worried her."
"Actually," Wendy said with a giggle, "Last night is exactly what we came to talk to you about."
Albus grinned, "Thank Merlin. I've been dying to talk about it with someone who isn't my little sister."
When Albus arrived in the Great Hall a little while later he was no longer smiling. His face was pale and he had a small frown on his face like he was thinking about something unpleasant.
Rose gave him a wave, gesturing to the spot she had saved for him. She immediately noticed his change in attitude and she began questioning him as soon as he sat down.
"What happened? What did those girls say to you?"
"What?" Albus looked like he was being pulled out of daze. "What? Oh, no, nothing happened." He began piling his plate high with food, and eating with gusto, if only to give himself something else to do than think about the conversation he had just had with Wendy and Tess. Rose looked at him in concern, but Albus couldn't possible tell her what had happened. He was still trying to wrap his head around the whole thing himself.
He had told Wendy and Tess about the night before and they had been extremely excited and supportive until the end.
"That's it?" Tess said when he told them about Scorpius kissing him goodbye before class.
"Of course it isn't." Wendy had giggled, "I think Albus is just embarrassed. You don't have to be Albus, we are both completely supportive of you and Scorpius."
Albus had been very confused. His face must have showed it because the two girls began looking at him very strangely.
"I mean if you don't want to tell us its fine." Tess said a moment later, reassuringly. "We just thought that you might be doubtful about how it went and so we thought we could give you some advice."
"Yeah," Wendy continued, "I mean we both have a little more experience in this field than you." She smiled at him sweetly.
"What field?" Albus had asked, still confused. There was an awkward silence and then-
"Sex!" The two girls answered him.
"Sex?!" Albus repeated, suddenly feeling like he was in way over his head. The looked on Albus' face caused Wendy and Tess to stop smiling. Instead they looked at one another in shock.
"Wait, Albus…" Now Wendy was the one who looked confused, "Did you and Scorpius not have sex last night?"
"No!" Albus had responded, almost a little too eagerly.
"WHAT?" Wendy and Tess almost shouted, causing a few students who were in the same hallway as them to turn and stare.
"What's wrong?" Albus began to shake, he was suddenly feeling very nervous and he wasn't exactly sure why.
"Oh… well, that's just very surprising." Tess said finally.
"Scorpius just usually isn't one to wait." Wendy awkwardly cleared her throat. "But I'm sure there's nothing wrong Albus!" She had assured him.
"Do, do you think he wants that?" Albus asked them, still shaking.
"Well of course he does Albus." Wendy laughed a little, "He's a guy!"
She had responded as if she had forgotten that Albus was also a guy. Tess had seemed to notice how nervous he was. She put an arm around him, comfortingly.
"Don't worry Albus. You don't need to worry about Scorpius, he is definitely into you ok? I am sure he will try to get into your pants as soon as possible."
Albus had tried to smile back at them. He hadn't known how to say that he was worried about something else entirely.
"Albus. Albus!" Someone was calling out his name, pulling him out of his daydream. It was his brother, standing behind him, looking at him strangely.
"Are you alright?" James asked him.
"Yes, fine. What is it?" Albus felt more annoyed than usual by his brother, if James had come over to make fun of him about the howler Albus thought he was going to snap. Instead James handed him a letter.
"Since you weren't at breakfast this morning." James said, already walking away, "Thought you would want it." He called over his shoulder.
Albus examined the letter, it was from Teddy. "Oh, thanks!" He said back to his brother, who was already gone.
Albus ripped open the letter, which was long. He decided he would read it later, so he shoved it back into his robes. Just seeing the familiar scrawl of his godbrother made Albus feel much more at ease. He wished Teddy was here right now, he needed someone to talk to. He needed someone to talk to about sex. He obviously couldn't consult Lily, she may be supportive of his relationship was Scorpius, but there were certain things you just couldn't discuss with your little sister. Rosie and James were obviously both out seeing as they didn't even want him interacting with Scorpius at all. Wendy and Tess had been supportive in their own way, but the truth is they were too experienced, and they really couldn't relate to Albus. Albus tried to picture himself asking all the questions he had to Teddy and sighed. Teddy would be there for him, Albus knew that, but what would he even expect him to say? It's not like Teddy was an expert with gay sex. And besides Albus was like a little brother to Teddy, it was quite possible that Teddy didn't want to hear about Albus' sex life at all. So then what was Albus going to do? He didn't know if he was ready to have sex. He had liked what he had done with Scorpius so far but it always felt like Scorpius was leading and Albus was just trying to keep up. He was afraid of Scorpius moving too fast, the idea terrified him. If Albus was being perfectly honest he didn't really even know all of the details of sex with two guys. Well, he understood the basic anatomy of it, but how did it work? Did it hurt? Did it feel good? Did you have to prepare for it? How did two people decide who took what role?
"Albus, are you sure you're alright?" It was Rosie again.
"Yeah, of course." He replied, although he felt the opposite.
"You look like you might faint." Rosie insisted.
"Actually, you might be right." Albus said quickly, standing up. "I think I am going to go lie down for a little while. Sorry Rosie." And before his cousin could say another word he walked away and out of the Great Hall.
Albus sighed deeply as soon as he was out of the large, noisy room. He had a lot of things to think about and he was looking forward to pulling the curtains on his bed and laying in the dark and the silence and thinking everything through. However that plan was quickly thwarted when he turned to climb the large staircase that lead to the Gryffindor tower and there was a familiar group of Slytherins loitering on the steps.
"Oh." Albus said when he saw them. Part of him wanted to run away and hide, especially from Scorpius, but he forced himself to act calm. "Hello."
They all greeted him as he approached, but Scorpius came up beside him and leaned in, just a little too close for comfort. Albus shuffled away from him slightly.
"What's up?" Scorpius asked, giving him an amused expression.
"Just going to bed." Albus said quietly, not liking the look Scorpius was giving him.
"Hmmmm." Scorpius grinned again, "You see, that's going to be a problem."
"What? Why?" Albus' attempt to remain calm was now ruined. He was jumpy, and his heart was thumping. He felt like he had the word SEX written across his forehead. He felt like everyone was watching him and smirking at him. Tess and Wendy had probably talked about him and the conversation they had at dinner. That thought maybe Albus even more nervous.
"You have something of mine. And I need it back." It took a moment or two for Albus to remember the uniform.
"Right." Albus said, more calmly, "Yes I will give it to you."
"I need it back tonight." Scorpius insisted. Something about the way he said the word tonight sent a shiver down Albus' spine.
"Oh." Albus took a deep breath. "Right. Ok. Well, I will just go get it right now then." And then without another word he bounded up the steps and out of sight.
Scorpius stood there in a daze after Albus disappeared.
"Is it just me, or was that really weird?" Scorpius asked.
Tess and Wendy looked at each other and smiled.
Albus arrived in the dungeons with Scorpius' robes folded neatly under his arm. There was still plenty of time before students had to be in their dorms for the evening, so Albus was feeling much less nervous about running around the castle to see Scorpius. Of course, he realized the moment he entered the Slytherin common room that he was technically not allowed to be there, honorary Slytherin or not. Albus wondered when he began to break school rules with such ease. He almost didn't even realize he was doing it anymore. As he made his way over to his friends he quickly recognized that Scorpius was not among them, and after a moment or two noticed Sullivan wasn't there either.
"Hey you guys." He said walking up, feeling less nervous than earlier in the hallway.
"Hey Albus." Stephanie greeted him.
"Scorpius is in the dorm." Andy told him, gesturing.
"Oh, that's fine." Albus actually felt relieved. "I'll just leave these here then." He said, putting the robes down on the arm of one of the couches. Albus felt the eyes of all five Slytherins on him.
"What?" He said defensively.
"Albus you wouldn't be avoiding Scorpius, would you?" Wendy asked him with a smirk.
"What? No!" Albus insisted. "I just need to get back, I have a lot of homework to get done."
"Well Scorpius said he really needed to talk to you." Stephanie said, "He said it was important." Again Albus felt everyone's eyes on him, watching and waiting for a reaction.
"Fine." Albus said finally, picking the robes back up, feeling slightly embarrassed. It's not like Scorpius could call and Albus would come running. But, if Scorpius really had something important to tell him, Albus didn't feel like he could just ignore it. As he began to walk down the hallway into the sixth year dorms his heart began pounding again. What if Scorpius wanted to talk to him about last night? What if something was wrong? What if he was going to say that it was a mistake, or that he didn't want Albus to spend the night anymore. Or even worse, what if he wanted to have sex, like right now? What if that was the important thing? Wendy and Tess confirmed that the Slytherin didn't like waiting, maybe Scorpius thought that after spending the night Albus owed him sex somehow. Needless to say by the time he reached the door of the dorm he felt sick.
"Hello?" He called, poking his head in the door. Scorpius was laid out on his bed, reading the potions book he had bought in Hogsmeade a few days earlier. He grinned when he saw Albus and stood up to greet the Gryffindor.
"Evening." He said, walking over to Albus.
"I have your robes." Albus said. He held them out in front of him, using them to block Scorpius from getting any closer. Scorpius grabbed the clothes from out of his hands and threw them behind him towards his bed. Albus watched as they landed on the floor in a heap. He frowned.
"They are going to wrinkle if you leave them there you know."
"I don't really care." Scorpius replied. He continued to get closer to Albus and Albus continued to back away from him until he was against the door.
Scorpius chuckled, "Are you running away from me?"
"N-no." Albus cleared his throat awkwardly. "I just came to bring you your robes and so now that you have them I really have to go, you see I have a lot of homework and tomorrow my schedule is really b-"
Scorpius shut Albus up by pressing his lips onto the Gryffindor's.
"You talk too much." He murmured, before continuing to snog the brunette. He put his hands on Albus' hips, pulling their bodies closer together, and he had just slipped one hand under Albus' shirt when the boy pushed him away, hard.
"What?" Scorpius asked, frowning. He was surprised to see that Albus' face was bright red, while he thought it was cute when Albus blushed, they had snogged enough that he really hadn't expected him to react this way.
"Stephanie said you had something important to tell me." Albus said, refusing to look Scorpius in the eye.
"Well yeah." Scorpius shrugged, "But we can talk about that later." He grabbed Albus hips again, and tried to pull him towards the bed, "There's something else I want to do right now." To his surprise Albus didn't budge, not even an inch, and if possible his face had turned even redder.
"I have to go back." Albus said determinedly, still not looking at Scorpius. "So say it now, or you can say it tomorrow."
Scorpius sighed, realizing that whatever was going on with Albus, he was definitely not in the mood to mess around tonight.
"Alright then." Scorpius stepped away from Albus and shoved his hands in his pockets, suddenly feeling nervous himself. "I just wanted to know what you were doing on Thursday night."
Finally, Albus did look up at Scorpius, and he looked extremely surprised, and confused. "Thursday?" he asked, "But, but, you know what Thursday is right?"
Scorpius couldn't help but chuckle, "Yes, I know what Thursday is, and that's why I am asking."
"Oh." Albus turned impossibly more red.
"So," Scorpius said, after a moment of silence, "Are you free."
"Yes." Albus said hesitantly.
"Well then, will you meet me in the prefect baths at midnight?"
"What? Are you serious?" Albus asked.
"Of course." Scorpius replied, "Trey is going to tell me where it is and make sure that we won't be bothered. He owes me a favor."
Albus didn't even want to know what Trey owed Scorpius for. "We're not allowed in there and its past curfew and if we get caught we'll both get detention." He said quickly.
"But will you meet me?" Scorpius asked again.
"Scorpius, I have class the next morning and an essay due, and besides I told my parents I would stay out of trouble and running around the castle at night is not how one normally stays out of trouble."
"Will you meet me?" Scorpius repeated. Albus looked up at Scorpius and he couldn't explain it but something in the Slytherin's eyes made Albus heart start beating quickly again, only this time it wasn't nerves. The room was silent and it occurred to Albus that Scorpius was still waiting for him to answer. Albus couldn't think straight. He knew he should say no, but he couldn't make the words come out.
Finally he blurted out, "We'll see." And then before Scorpius could say another word, he rushed out of the room.
