dfasdfasdfHello again! :D Did you guys enjoy the previous chapter? Well, this is gonna be the last chapter… LOL NO JUST KIDDING. We still have Naru's parents, right? :D

To the person who's reading this, I hope you're having a wonderful day :)

Here's Chapter 26 everyone! :D

"You know Martin, I'm still wondering why Noll wants us to come here. It's very rare, don't you think?"

A sound of a page turning was heard. "Let's not question it and just follow what Oliver wants."

Luella giggled and continued brushing her hair.

"Why isn't anyone answering?!"

He looked at the clock. 2 hours… That's too long already! He'd already re-arrange the files in the File Room, dusted the kitchen and lounge area, he even dusted Naru's books that were sitting on the top of the book shelf! He groaned and proceeded to scour SPR's cupboard, hoping to find some goods. Yasuhara's eyebrow twitched at the abundance of tea. Well those little Naru's sure do love their Dad… He sighed. "Well, gotta go and find somethi –"

"NOLL!"

What the..? Without sparing any second, he left the kitchen and went straight to the lounge room. He saw a couple staring at the office with wide eyes. They called for Noll or Naru… "Excuse me," The couple instantly shifted their gaze from the office to Yasuhara. "Are you, by any chance, Dr. Davis' parents?"

As if they're finally back from whatever land they've been, the elder woman beamed at Yasuhara. "Sorry, we're lacking manners." She bowed elegantly. "My name is Luella Davis, but you can simply call me Luella. This is my husband," Martin nodded. "Martin Davis, but you can call him Martin."

Yasuhara bowed in return. "Osamu Yasuhara. I work for your son as a researcher." He gestured to the couches. "Please, have a seat. I'll make tea."

"That would be lovely." Luella removed her parka and hung it on the coat rack. "The weather today is a bit chilly."

Yasuhara immediately set on making tea. His tea wasn't as good as Mai's tea but it was still fit to drink. He remembered that one time Masako made tea. I thought I'd never live another day… As soon as the tea finished steeping, he carefully brought out the tea and served it. He heard a murmur of thanks and returned it with a nod. He sat down on one of the couches and faced the couple. "Well, Na – Noll is out on a case."

Luella simply giggled. "That boy always does that. He asks us to come here, then when we arrive, he suddenly leaves to go on a case."

"What case is he working on?" Martin asked, curious on the type of case his son is dealing with. He knows that his son never accepts a case that doesn't spark his interest.

"Mai got herself a stalker ghost."

"Mai? As in Noll's assistant?" Luella asked.

"Well, former assistant."

"Former?" Luella frowned. "What happened? She resigned because of my son's awful attitude, isn't it? Wait 'til that boy comes back – Oh I know! I'll call him now!" Luella stood up, not hearing Yasuhara or Martin's protest. "I'll be right back!" She slammed the entrance door close, leaving the two men in the lounge area. They sighed, looked at each other, and then laughed.

Martin gave Yasuhara a chagrined smile. "I'm sorry for my wife. She can be a bit over-the-top sometimes."

Yasuhara grinned. "It's okay. I can handle over-the-top since the entire team consists of a bunch of oddballs."

"Now that I think about it," Martin repositioned himself in the couch. "I've never really known the other mem –"

"I got a hold of Noll earlier!" Luella plopped on the couch again, ignoring the shocked faces of Yasuhara and her husband. "Noll's instructions were to exorcise the ghost but Hara-san insisted on getting it cleansed. Apparently the ghost wants to talk to Mai."

"Is Mai okay?" Yasuhara suddenly asked. "I've been calling for hours and no one has picked up their phones. I'm getting a bit nervous without getting any updates."

"They're all doing okay, according to Noll. They're all waiting for Mai to do the cleansing. What's wrong?"

Yasuhara sighed. "That's good. I just got worried, that's all. This is Mai we're talking about."

"I've heard from Lin that she's a magnet for danger." Martin said, remembering the conversation he and Lin had a few years back. "Is that the reason why she resigned?"

Yasuhara had to stop himself from laughing and saying 'Oh you just don't know!'. He continued to smile and said, "No, Mai didn't resign because of that. Let's just say, she's a lot like your son right now." He smiled cheekily.

"An investigator?" Luella guessed.

Yasuhara shook his head. He grinned wider this time. "Try again, Luella-san."

"A boss?" Martin tried.

"A point goes to Martin-san!" Yasuhara cheered, winking at Martin.

"Really?!" Luella's eyes twinkled with excitement. "What company? Does Oliver know?" She tugged on Martin's sleeves. "Oh we should go and visit! I wonder why Oliver still isn't asking Mai to be his girlfriend." Luella pouted. "I've heard from Lin and Madoka that they get along so well together!"

Yasuhara almost… almost snickered at that statement. "Well, they do have their own way of showing their affections, albeit rather a tad bit aggressive than sweet."

"Aggressive?" Luella laughed, somehow expecting that his stoic son would be like that. Luella looked at her husband. "Martin, I think you should start lecturing our son about how to treat a lady properly."

Martin beamed at his wife in return. "Duly noted, my dear wife."

"So, Yasuhara-kun." Luella drolled, looking at the office.

The spectacled boy wanted to smirk. But of course, he can't, not within the presence of this lovely couple. He'll show his crazy side when the entire team is around. "Hai, Luella-san?"

"About the office…"

Yasuhara fixed his glasses. "About that…"

"I am so bored!"

"Shut up, Kaori."

"Why are you so mean?!"

"Because you ran so slowly and you fainted!

"Well I'm sorry if some rock hit me on the head!"

"That's because you're slow!"

Gene sighed. He can see ripples on the plane. He looked at them again. 'Well, they're both hot-headed… like Mai.' He chuckled. He stepped forward, ready to stop the fight since it's causing a few distractions on the plane. "Okay okay. You both can stop now. The plane is getting distorted with all of your emotions and it's not good."

They glared at each other before turning away. "I'm sorry…" They said.

He willed the astral plane to change the scenery. What appeared before them was a park with nothing but green grass, blue skies and trees. "Go and cool your heads off."

"Okay…" They both answered meekly.

"Don't go too far away!" He shouted. He saw the twins head out to opposite directions and both sat under a tree.

"They're growing up so fast…"

Gene smiled softly, knowing exactly who was right behind him. "You worry too much, Mai."

Her soft footfalls came to a halt beside him. He looped an arm around her shoulder. "I can't help it, you know."

"You can't help it that they're hot-headed like you and possibly dive into dangers like what you did before?" He teased.

"Shut it, Gene." She glared at him. Gene laughed softly.

"They're growing up beautifully, Mai. Don't you see? They've got Oliver's intelligence and your amazing personality. Plus they both look so beautiful."

Mai shrugged and kept staring at her two daughters. "What if they don't need me anymore? It's shocking to see how independent they can be at their age."

He kissed Mai's head. "You know that they'll always need you. Plus, they need you and Noll to watch over their powers. Let's wait for them to clear their heads, okay?"

Mai nodded and reveled in Gene's embrace. "You did a lot of damage back there Mai."

Mai shrugged. "I honestly didn't know I could do that."

"Well, my twin is obviously freaking out now."

They both laughed.

"I'm sorry… I – I didn't know…"

"Dear, it's okay. It's not your fault…"

"Will she be okay, Claude?"

Claude stayed silent, concentrating on keeping the white energy around Mai.

Lin looked at Masako who was leaning against John, crying over her decision of letting Mai cleansing the spirit. "Brown-san."

John looked up. "Hai, Lin-san?"

"Has Mai ever shown signs of having PK?"

John shook his head. "No. We'd know a thing if something is out of the ordinary with Mai because if Mai tends to keep problems a secret, Hikari and Kaori would sense it and outright tell Ayako-san or Bou-san that something's wrong."

Naru looked at Claude who just placed Mai on her bed. "Claude."

"I knew that Young Mistress had something within her." He looked at Mai with an unreadable expression. "But I'm not one to delve deeper unless Young Mistress tells me to."

RING! RING!

"Excuse me…" Lin left the room.

Naru sighed. He sat beside Mai's sleeping form and softly stroked her hair. "I might start growing gray hairs with all this stress that you're putting me through lately…"

Her head ached. She can feel a dull throb at the back of her head. She knew that blinding lights were waiting to destroy her perfect blue eyes.

"I know you're awake. Wake up."

Hikari.

"Hikari." She heard a reproachful tone. It was from her grandmother. "Stop with your nonsense. Your sister is sleeping."

"But Grandmere! She is –"

"Will you shut up?" Kaori interrupted with a bit of crack in her voice.

Hikari grinned while Ayako sighed and proceeded to check on Kaori. "How are you feeling?" Ayako asked softly. "Do you feel anything? You've been hit by a rock at the back of your head."

She felt a cold hand slither to hers. Despite their petty arguments, she knew that Hikari was worried. "Not really. I think I'm okay."

"Are you sure?" Ayako pressed. "You know your Mom is gonna be pretty mad if you lie." She threatened.

Kaori shook her head. "Hai, I'm sure."

"Is Maman okay?" Hikari inquired.

"And Papa too?" Kaori added.

"What about Uncle Koujo?"

"And Aunt Masako too!"

"And -!"

Ayako raised an elegant palm, stopping the twins, knowing that they're gonna be naming the entire team. "Everyone is okay. You can stop your pretty little heads from worrying."

"Grandmere."

Ayako looked at the uninjured, feeling a tad bit unperturbed with her solemn expression. "What is it?"

"Everything is going to be okay, right?" Hikari asked with wide innocent eyes. She fiddled with the hems of her shirt. "We're all going back home, right? Then Maman and Papa will be together again…" She said softly. She felt her twin squeeze her hand.

Ayako sighed and patted Hikari's head softly. "What did I tell you? Stop worrying. Everything is okay. Next thing you know, you'll be having sisters." Ayako joked, hoping to lighten up the mood of the twins.

"WE WILL?!" Hikari and Kaori looked at each other and started squealing. "OH MY GOD!" They shouted.

"I'm gonna be the best sister ever!"

"Oh my God Kaori we should teach them our gold tricks!"

Ayako sweat-dropped. It's almost impossible now to stop the kids.

Uhh, oops?
