Chapter Twenty Five: Beginning Act
(See the sets take place)
A single spotlight shined down upon the clown. He held a book and flipped a page time and time again. Peteano giggled. "This Shakespeare character may have been a human long ago but I find these sayings so enjoyable. So very very enjoyable indeed." He read another quote from him and laughed. "Oh I like that one. That one has to my favorite." He closed his book and stood up from his chair. "Now the next act will begin. Tears will be shed, blood shall spill and the eternal sorrow of so many people will be heard!" He laughed manically. "I do love a good tragedy. So very very love indeed. A tragedy for some is a comedy for me." The clowned twirled around. "The curtains rises, the actors take the stage and now…action."

"It is still unknown how this travesty has happened. Yesterday, at 18:42, an entire street was laid into ruin. Buildings were destroyed as well as anything else that stood in the explosions path. It is unknown if a terrorist group was behind such an attack. Many students and civilians were injured and more than three dozen were killed. An after effect of this attack was that many of electrical appliances momentarily lost power. It is one of the grimmest sights Academy City has ever seen."
Dante turned off the T.V. He tossed the remote back to the stand and lay back on his bed. "Seems things around here are getting more interesting." He jumped out of the bed and retrieved his guitar case. "I wonder if those two brats heard about this." Dante opened his door and left.

"It is one of the grimmest sights Academy City has ever seen." Konori turned off the T.V and looked away. Both Mikoto and Kuroko were shocked to the core about what happened last night. Both of them sat down on the couch.
The level five Electromaster clenched her fist. "Who would do something like that? Who would so something so heartless?"
Kuroko turned to look at her roommate. "Onee-sama…"
Konori sighed. "This is a very serious situation. Anti-skill was already on sight several minutes after this happened. They asked Judgment for help to interrogate anyone who knew about this event. Shirai, this means you have to go back to work. We need everyone to help out."
The teleporter nodded. "Understood."
Her senpai nodded back. "Good and it's nice to have you back on your feet."
Mikoto's phone went off. She pulled it out and answered it. "Hello?"
"Meet me at the usual place." The call ended.
"Wait what?"
"What is it onee-sama?" Her kouhai asked.
"The usual place?" Mikoto realized what it meant. She sighed. "Kuroko can you teleport me somewhere?"
The younger instantly stood up. "Yes! Wherever my onee-sama shall go I shall follow!" Mikoto went up her ear and whispered something. Whatever she said to her made Kuroko groan. "Really that place?" She sighed and looked at Konori. "Konori-sempai, I'll back quite shortly."
"Be quick."
Kuroko touched the other girl's shoulder and the two of them teleported somewhere. Where they ended up next was a pretty obvious place. "The same Pizza Hut and in the morning too. Doesn't that man eat anything else?" The electromaster questioned. Off on the corner of her eye, she saw her friend put on her Judgment armband. "Have to work so soon huh? Be careful Kuroko."
The younger smiled. "I will and you're always with me now since I have this." She showed off her bracelet with the other girls name on it.
Mikoto smiled and nodded. "Alright. Take care Kuroko." Her friend smiled back and teleported back to Judgment. She gave a sigh and entered the restaurant. It wasn't hard to spot a grown man with white hair in the booths. She walked over to where the devil hunter was and wasn't surprised at all he ate another large pizza again.
Dante took another bite out of the last slice. "Hey kid how's the brat?"
Mikoto narrowed her eyes and sat across from him. "She's fine. Now what do you want?"
The devil hunter finished off the slice. "I'm guessing you heard what happened?" He asked in a nonchalant tone
The level five ESPer looked down at the table. Dante didn't see it but she gritted her teeth. "How can you say that so lightly?" She looked at him. "People were hurt and some were even dead. Doesn't that bother you?"
Dante took drink and set it down. "If you can't handle this, then leave it to the grownups little girl."
She looked down again. "It would make sense he wouldn't be startled like this. I'm sure being a devil hunter; he must've seen stuff worse than this." Mikoto took in deep breathe and looked back at him. "It's just that it's too much for someone like me but Kuroko and I are deep in this. We're even demons because of these events. I'm guessing whether I like it or not, I have to deal with this kind of stuff from now on huh?"
The white haired man smiled. "Now that's what I want to hear."
Mikoto didn't smile back. "I know you didn't call me for small talk. What is it?"
The devil hunter chuckled. "Straight to the point huh?" He leaned back. "From I learned, Riley wasn't the only one who went missing. I'm sure you've heard others."
The auburn haired girl nodded. "Yeah Kuroko was telling me about that. Riley was among the 375 people missing."
"550 from what I heard." Dante corrected her.
"550?!" She stood up quickly but sat back down. "How did the numbers increase that quickly?" Her eyes widened with realization. "It's the same people who took Riley isn't it?"
Dante leaned back in his seat. "That's what I'm thinking. The only problem now is how they're doing it." He threw some money down on the table and stood up. "Later kid."
Mikoto also stood up. "Hey where do you think you're going?"
"Well we're not going to find the answer by sitting on our asses all day. I'm going for a walk."
He left the young girl and then the restaurant. Mikoto growled. "I hope you trip." She sighed. "But he is right. We're not going to find any answers on our own. Maybe I can ask around to pick up some leads." Mikoto ran out of the building to begin her search.

The first thing Misaki notice when she became conscious was that she was lying on something soft. She opened her eyes to see a ceiling. The blonde ESPer sat up to find herself on a bed. A very soft bed she added. She looked around the room to see that the walls were a golden yellow, a stand next to the bed with lamp that looked like it was designed by artists, a coffee table made out of fine wood along fine couches on the two sides. She notices two doors in the rooms. One would obviously be the way out and Misaki figured the other leads to the bathroom. The blonde level five leaned back. "I feel more like a guest rather than a prisoner."
The door opened up and Peteano walked in. "Oh so our honored guest has awaken. That's good, so very very good indeed." He noticed her tense up. "Oh don't worry my dear. You're in no danger, at least not yet. So settle in and enjoy yourself."
Misaki didn't say anything for a few seconds. "Why are you treating me like this? Do you usually give all your prisoners this kind of luxury?"
The clown giggled. "Only ones who are important. Now then miss-"
"Shokuhou Misaki."
"I beg your pardon?"
The blonde looked at Peteano. "My name is Shokuhou Misaki. I thought you know the name of your prisoner."
He giggled. "Prisoner is such an ugly word. So very very ugly indeed. You're our guest, a V.I.P here. I even gave the order of my actors to not harm a single golden hair on your head so there's no need to worry about your safety. In fact I brought someone who can keep you company." He clapped his hands. "Come in now." He ordered in a sing song voice. The door opened up to reveal Nia. Misaki's eyes instantly widened with fear. "I'm sure the two of you will get along well. So very very well indeed. I'll be off now and before I forget…" He snapped his fingers and three screens appeared in the room. All of them displayed the different people Misaki saw last night. "The show will begin soon. The only question is which one? Ta-ta." He waved good bye to the two girls and left.
Silence was in the room now as the two girls didn't know what to say to each other. Nia rubbed the back of her head as she giggled. "Sorry we had to meet each other in bad circumstances. How about we start over? My name is Nia. What's yours?"
Already Misaki could tell she was a different person then when they first met. Her eyes were different too. They looked gentle. "What is she?"
She was hesitant to reply but Nia began to talk again. "So you go to the same school as Mikoto-chan and Mitsu-chan huh? Do you have any friends like they do?"
The blonde ESPer glared at her. "You may have possibly killed my group back at the streets!" Misaki saw the other girl looked down in regret. She was definitely a different person.
"I'm sorry for what my sister did but you did kinda played unfair using all those people."
"Sister?" The other blonde asked.
Nia nodded. "Yeah my big sister. She always comes out whenever I'm in trouble or when I'm knocked unconscious." It was then Misaki remember she hit her head on the pavement after she ran into her. It made sense but what doesn't make sense was…"How can you have a sister when you're in the same body?"
A pinging sound rang through the room both girls turned to see that one of the screens lit up. The first show is about to begin.
B
Two people were standing up on the roof of a large warehouse. "The prey is coming closer and closer to the chosen trap. They shall know soon enough what horror is about to befall upon them."
"There you go again speaking like that. All you have to say is that our targets are coming in our trap."
"The muscle headed fool repeats on what has already been said."
Garu groaned. "Any way this group shouldn't too tough. It'll be easy pickings."
"Again the fool declares something will be easy when surely it will be not." Laylula said.
The older man rolled his eyes. "Whatever let's get this thing done." The little girl nodded in agreement and both left the roof the warehouse.
A van pulled up to the front of the warehouse and stopped. The doors opened to reveal three girls and one grown woman. "I hope you're right about this lead Frenda. If not then you know what will happen next." The woman growled.
The young girl called Frenda giggled nervously. "I assure Mugino, this lead is legit. No mistakes here."
Mugino narrowed her eyes on the young girl and then looked at other girl in the group. "Rikou anyone in there that we have to handle?"
Rikou shook her head. "No one is in there."
The older woman smiled. "Good now let's go." All of them walked up to entrance. "Saiai enter the code we were given."
Saiai nodded. "Super understand." She punched in the code and the doors began to open.
They all entered. "All right so what's this lead you guys were talking…about….what the hell happened here!?" Upon entering they came across the people they were supposed to meet scattered across the room. Their bodies were beyond mutilated. Limbs were torn out, their cleaved in half, pulled apart, their intestines were spilled out everywhere and blood was across the walls, ceiling and floor. The stench of blood filled the air.
Frenda almost lost her breakfast. The other two were shocked that something like has happened. "This is super gory."
"What could have done something like this?" Rikou asked.
Mugino has seen many things but nothing like this. It was something almost inhuman did these men in. "The prey have entered the trap and are sick to their stomachs at the sight on which they see. Soon their fate shall be the same as these innocent souls who lost their lives in a most gruesome way."
All of them looked at the direction where the voice came from. They saw a young girl sitting on a bloodied table along with and older man who was standing beside it. "You know Narrator; it's not much of a trap when you announce to the people we're supposed to kill."
"The fool Everest should know their fates are sealed either way. Whether they know or not, they are already in their graves."
The older woman growled at the two. "Hey who the hell are you two?!"
"The older woman wants to know the name of the assailants but she shall know that is irrelevant at the moment as she and the rest of group shall perish."
"Hey little kid! How about you run off and play with your dolls. This is grown up business right here!" Frenda taunted.
"Already the youngest of the group has displayed signs of immaturity and naivety. Victims that share such traits with her are the first to die."
"Wait die?!" The young blonde panicked.
"She's just trying to super psych you out Frenda."
However Rikou had a different feeling about the two across from them. "I'm sure I didn't sense anyone with an A.I.M field but why am I feeling uneasy?"
Everest walked up. "Look here's the situation you're in. You're getting mixed up with shit that's sure to get all of you killed and it's our job to make sure all of you will never be found."
"Oh brave statement for someone who's going be killed themselves." She tried to walk up to him but Frenda and Saiai blocked her.
"Mugino, leave him to us. You don't need to get involved in this."
"Well super beat him."
Everest cracked his knuckles. "Hey Narrator, I got this. You just stay back."
"The fool's safety has no interest in anyone on his side."
He scoffed. "Thanks for your concern." He smiled. "Now I Everest take the stage!" He slammed his fist to ground and countless earth spikes emerged and were headed toward the two girls.
Both were surprised by this sudden change but they had enough time to avoid the attack. Now the whole group was shocked and confused by this development. "I thought you said you couldn't sense anyone win an A.I.M field in here!" Frenda yelled at Rikou.
Rikou herself couldn't believe what happened. "That's impossible. How can he be an ESPer without an A.I.M field?"
Everest smiled. "Let me put it this way…" He stood up. "All of you don't know what's at work here and that's going to kill all of you."
