The Grounds, Hogwarts Castle, Wizarding World...

The Potions Master had been making his way across the grounds with an urgent message from Charlie Weasley. He had not seen the point of why a Dragonologist would require the assistance of a Potions Master was beyond him. he still could barely make sense of the outrageous tales of him being some cured King from a former life turned Sorcerer, but he seemed content to go about life as if nothing had ever occurred despite his young wife's intent on being watchful of his every shift in behavior.

No sooner had Snape gotten near Hagrid's hut, Charlie Weasley came rushing out to him unable to wait any longer clutching a baby Hebridean Black in his arms with a worried look on his face.

"PROFESSOR SNAPE!" he shouted in an urgent manner. "Professor Snape thank Merlin you've arrived."

Snape resisted the urge to roll his eyes as his former student was clearly in distress.

"What manner of crisis needs my undivided attention this time?" asked the rather testy Potions Master.

"Can you please help him?...no one has been able to figure out quite what is wrong with him...he hasn't eaten in weeks and we fear we might lose him." replied Charlie Weasley with a somber expression on his normally cheerful face. "He's been quite a rare find ever since I stumbled upon his egg...but I don't know what else I can do for him not being able to speak his language and all...please Professor Snape...he's species is in danger enough as it is."

"Do I look like a Dragonologist to you?" asked Snape with an arched brow and his arms folded across his ebony clad chest. "What the bloody hell do you want me to do about his issues...despite rather tasteless rumors, I am not a dragon."

Upon hearing Snape's voice, the small dragon-ling seemed to perk up. Opening it's mouth as if trying to speak. Charlie watched with a rather curious expression as the dragon-ling continued to attempt to get Snape's attention.

"Father!"...father coi ui wux...you shilta nymuer ve opsola!" ("Father!"...Father it is you...you can hear me father!") snarled the small black dragon with brilliant purple eyes as it's thin tail swung back n forth revealing it's arrow shaped spike at the end.

"This is the most active I've seen him in weeks." said Charlie surprised. "He seems to really like you.

Snape rolled his eyes as the dragon-ling continued to hiss and chirp at him. Annoyed by the entire ordeal, he turned to the dragon-ling and hissed back.

"What ui dout affliction ghergo ir?...tell ve vur qe authot mrith coi!" ("What is your affliction young one?...tell me and be done with it!")

"The rhyaex ui tainted persvek wer munthrek doege vur renders sia cirau warui...we rigluin kwiip yobolat persvek desta conditions..."("The meat is tainted in the human care and renders my kind ill...we need fresh flesh in better flesh...")

Charlie watched with rapt fascination as Snape continued to hold a discussion with the dragon-ling before looking up at him.

"si nishka majak wer munthrek vi xiisnarn ekess ensure wux re algbo aurthon ekess widegoa dout exploits di asta bacri kihlek...do ti clax asta malaikur kiri harshly astahii re ti algbo informed...and lae vi urgthumnum totafit ekess ve tepoha chevips shafaer wer charir fothisev drot jilgir wux...he doegeic vi jennu deal ihk wux vur dout cirau." ("I shall give the human a potion to ensure you are well enough to continue your exploits of their captive center...do not take their idiocy too harshly they are not well informed...and as a personal favor to me have pity on the red head boy holding you...he cares a great deal for you and your kind.")

The Hebridean Black Dragon-ling seemed in a better mood despite it's illness.

"Thank wux opsola...i nishka ti forget nomeno...nor nomeno munthrek kindness..."{"Thank you father...I shall not forget this...nor this human's kindness..."}

Snape turned his attention back to Charlie after the dragonling finished speaking with him.

"You idiots are feeding them rancid meat...the venison and cows are ill and thus making the dragons ill...and you lot are suppose to be dragon experts." said Snape not at all hiding his annoyance. "He is suffering from acute stomach poisoning."

He tossed Charlie a potion and turned his attention elsewhere.

"Learn how to do your own job and you won't need me." muttered Snape as he headed toward Hogwarts Castle.

"Thanks Professor..." said the extremely grateful Weasley. ""I won't forget it."

The Hebridean Black dragon-ling seemed to drink down the potion with ease knowing that it had come from Snape.

Snape couldn't be bothered with replying as he already had his mind set on the stack of parchments waiting on his desk that needed to be graded. He knew Hermione would have questions, mostly due to him leaving her in the middle of her study session to answer Charlie Weasley's summons.

As he walked, Severus Snape had a few questions about the absolute fear he felt for the safety of the little dragon and his kind despite not at all having an interest in them. He found it amusing that each dragon had referred to him as Father when he deduced his concern for them had indeed become something paternal.

He had been thinking about the first encounter he had with Hagrid's rather aggressive dragon as well as the incident where he had fallen through an underground cavern when trying to retrieve the sword of Gryffindor for Potter. He wondered if his apparent ability to speak Dragon's tongue had anything to do with the fall.

Putting his thoughts on the strange matter aside for now, Snape made his way to his office more than happy to continue on with his usual work load before having the rest of the night to spend with his overly concerned young wife down in the dungeons.

He didn't doubt that she'd have a good deal of questions for him after he had taken off without a word of notice for her and the possibility that this Sortiarius bloke would be returning always kept her on edge. From what Dumbledore had informed him, he had been quite intent on doing harm to Harry Potter...a matter in which Snape held the greatest sympathy.
