Chapter 26
On April 21rst, 1967.
The one hundredth million gm vehicle rolled off the line at the plant in Janesville. A blue two door caprice. There was a big ceremony, speeches. The Lieutenant governor even showed up. Three days later, another car rolled off that same line. No one gave two craps about her. But they should have. Because this nineteen sixty seven Chevrolet Impala would turn out to be the most important car. No the most important object in pretty much the whole universe. She was first owned by Sal Moriarty, an alcoholic with two ex-wives and three blocked arteries. On weekends, he'd drive around giving bibles to the poor. "Getting' folks right for judgement day." That's what he said. Adeline, Sam and Dean don't know any of this, but if they did I bet they'd smile and Adeline would give a cute snort, amused at the origins of their car.
After Sal died, she ended up at rainbow motors. A used car lot in Lawrence, where a young marine bought her on impulse. That is, after a little advice from a friend. "I guess that's where this story begins and here's where it ends." Chuck said to himself typing it out.

Adeline blinked awake, feeling something across her waist. She turned her head and was surprised to see Castiel asleep and had curled up with her. She turned to face him, careful not to wake him. She was enjoying the warmth and comfort he brought to her. Adeline raised her hand and caressed his face softly. He looks more at ease when he's sleeping, she thought glancing out the window at the early morning light. She closed her eyes and burrowed herself against Castiel trying to fall back asleep, but her body started trembling. She carefully untangled herself from Castiel's arms and heard him sigh but he didn't wake up.
Adeline walked out of the room and sat down with her back against the hallway. She closed her eyes and took a few breaths trying to get her body back under control once she had she walked downstairs and went into the study. She saw Sam on the couch with his legs hanging off the side of it and smiled. "You're too big Sammy." She went over to him and mussed his hair like she used to do when he was younger then bent down and kissed his forehead. "I love you little brother." She whispered then turned to look over at Dean.
He was all slumped up in a chair looking uncomfortable and frowning even in his sleep. "You're a stupid, idiotic, impulsive, pessimistic, jerk wad ass of a bastard brother." She whispered angry at him before going to the closet where Bobby kept extra blankets she pulled three out and set one over Sam then turned to Dean and set one over him. "It was so much simpler when we were kids. We would say stupid hurtful shit to each other but an hour later one of us would relent and apologize. But pride is getting in the way now, isn't it?" She grumbled then kissed his cheek before she went upstairs not knowing he was awake and had heard everything.
Adeline used the third blanket and covered Castiel in it before she grabbed a towel and went to the shower but not before she took another bottle of pain meds Sam had left on her dresser last night. She had turned the hot water on and took off her shirt feeling the meds kick in and realized she might've taken too much. "Adeline."
Adeline looked behind her and saw Castiel had opened the door. She raised an eyebrow but waved him in and he closed the door behind him. "What is it Cas?" She asked facing the shower again and was untying her pants. "I- I don't want to leave you alone." He said softly. Adeline dropped her pants then turned all the way around and walked over towards him. She saw the worry in his eyes and reached up and cupped his face between her hands. "I'll be fine Cas. So what if my body is trembling with energy and grace. Nothing I can't handle." She told him thinking she probably wouldn't make it through this week.
Castiel closed his eyes and then wrapped his arms around her and pressed his nose to her neck as she moved her arms around his neck. Adeline hummed at the warmth he brought her and smiled. "I didn't know you were such a cuddly person Cas. I guess it's a good thing I love you otherwise I don't think I would be able to handle you." She grinned pulling back so she could see his blue eyes. Castiel gave her a smile. "I love you, Addy." He whispered to her then looked down at her, how her breast filled out the cups in her red, strapless bra nicely and how her hips weren't covered anymore by her baggy pants but only in black lace boy shorts.
"You're my temptation." Castiel told her softly and she snorted looking down at herself to see what underwear she was wearing. She looked back at Cas and rolled her eyes as her heart picked up. "You don't seem to be tempted at all though." She whispered playfully and Castiel brought his eyes back to hers. "I've never stopped." He told her then brought his lips down to hers and kissed her hard. Adeline grinned and met his lips eagerly closing her eyes then opened her mouth and deepened the kiss. Shrugging Castiel out of his coats then he grasped her hips with enough pressure to bruise them but she didn't care. Adeline's heart pounded with warmth and she felt content to just stay in the bathroom and kiss Castiel all day. But she broke the kiss with a gasp, panting hard and noticed Castiel was doing the same.
"I need to take a shower if I'm going to be forced to sit in a car all day." She told him softly. Castiel nodded then stepped away from her and let her go but Adeline caught one of his hands. "I didn't say you had to leave. I'm inviting you to join me, Cas." She told him amused. Castiel looked at her with wide eyes then looked behind her at the running water then at her as she grinned at him. Adeline stepped closer to him again and let go of his hand and untied his tie before bringing her hands down to unbutton his shirt. Castiel took off his shirt and it fell to the ground as he felt her rub her hands across his chest before she slowly slid them down to unbuckle his belt and unzip his pants. Adeline started humming to herself as she knelt down pulling Castiel's pants and boxers off. She tapped Castiel's foot and he picked it up so she could take off his shoes and socks then did the same to the other foot before she slid his pants off of him.
Castiel watched her wide eyed and filled with love for her as she slowly made her way back up as she kissed him on his legs, his knees his thighs. His breath hitched as she kissed his length and he moaned as she licked the head before she continued kissing her way back up to him. Castiel's heart was beating and he felt the steam from the shower and he also felt liquid fire in him as Adeline nipped his neck and licked over it before she kissed his check. Castiel closed his eyes his hands on her hips waiting for her to kiss him where he wanted it most but she stepped out his grasp instead. Castiel opened his eyes and looked at her confused. She just smiled and Castiel saw the impish glint in her eyes as she stepped closer to the shower. Castiel moved closer to her and looked her up and down. "You're wearing too much clothes." He rumpled out to her making her snort.
"Are you going to do something about it?" She asked him, teasing him. Castiel stepped closer to her and brought his hands to her hips then lowered them until he skimmed her underwear.
Adeline felt her skin jump and tingle and Castiel's fingers carefully took off her underwear then he done what she did to him only a little different. He picked up one of her feet and kissed it a grin on his lips as he continued to kiss up her leg then the inside of her leg. Hoping to make her feel as loved as he did. Castiel set down her leg then moved to the next one and did the same. He heard her sigh happily then heard her intake a breath when he kissed her where her legs met. He moved his mouth a little lower and kissed her clit making her moan and gasp, he felt her hands go into his hair trying to pull him up and he slowly came up kissing her stomach, he paused looking at her belly button ring.
"I don't understand, what is the point of this?" Castiel whispered against her stomach. Adeline looked down a bit dizzy wondering what he was talking about but then saw his eyes on the blue gems. "Well, that one was a gift from Gabriel." She started then felt Castiel's hands grip her tighter. "I originally got the piercing though because I liked it and Dad and Dean hated it so I ended up keeping it even when I didn't want it anymore." She whispered messing up Castiel's hair.
"Why do you have it now? And why keep something my brother gave you, the same one who took advantage of you?"
Adeline sighed and looked down at the cobalt blue gems. "It reminds me of your eyes." She mumbled and Castiel stood back up keeping her close to him as he tried to get her to look at him. "What?" He asked wondering if he heard correctly. Adeline sighed again and put her head against his shoulder. "It reminds me of your eyes. The blue is the same color and I like having that reminder of you." She repeated more clearly a bit embarrassed.
She had every intention of taking the ring out when she had gotten to her motel after the whole stunt with the trickster but she had looked down and saw the blue color that matched Castiel's eyes and couldn't bring herself to part from it.
Castiel pressed his lips against hers touched and ran his tongue against her lips and she parted them for him Adeline brought her hands down and grasped his ass pulling him closer. Castiel moaned against her and brought his hands to her back and was looking for her bra clasp but he couldn't find it. He pulled back frustrated wondering if he should just tear the thing off and Adeline snorted. She reached back and grabbed his hands then brought them to the front of her chest. "Front clasp. They're more fun." She smirked and Castiel saw how to move the contraption to get it off. Adeline hummed as his warm hands lightly caressed her breasts as he unhooked her bra and it fell to the ground. She giggled as Castiel kneaded her breasts and gasped softly. "Honka, honka." She heard herself laugh and Castiel paused at what he was doing and furrowed his eyebrows at her. "Whoops I didn't mean to say that aloud. Sorry but I took too much pain meds and I believe they're starting to take their affect." She confessed to him and Castiel backed away worried for her.
"We shouldn't be doing this." Castiel looked around the room and saw the mirror had cracked and the lights were flickering sporadically. Adeline raised an eyebrow noticing the effects Castiel was having on her and smirked. "Oh, I think we should be doing this." She told him holding her hand out as she stepped into the shower. Castiel looked at her out stretched hand then at her. "I don't want to be taking advantage of you." He told her causing her to roll her eyes. "Cas, no one takes advantage of me even when I'm drunk or in this case probably a little high." Adeline moved her fingers and Castiel reached for her hand and let her pull him into the shower. She reached behind his neck and pulled him down crashing her lips against his as the water fell on them. She kept one hand around his neck and brought her other between them and stroked Castiel's hardness. Pleased at how he reacted with a shudder and a moan against her lips. She closed her hand around him and Castiel broke the kiss setting his head on her shoulder and she moved his length up and down. Adeline enjoyed the panty breaths and moans he was making against her ear and grinned.
"See showers, they're fun." She whispered to him and he kissed her neck and held her close to him. Adeline moved him back and he was against the shower wall, still grasping her around the hips tightly and giving her sloppily open mouthed kisses against her neck making her feel on fire and better than she had been feeling. She tighten her grip and felt Cas gasp in pleasure and she felt even more heat come between her legs than their already was. She swiped away the pre-cum on him and Cas moved his hips against her hand. Soon enough Adeline felt Castiel grip her tighter. "Adeline." He moaned coming against her hand hard as she continued palming him as he rode out his orgasm.
Castiel moved his hands and cupped her face kissing her hard and passionately then he turned them and she was the one with her back against the tiles. "Ah, Cas." She gasped as he brought one of his hands against her neck and the other on her ass then lowered it and picked up her leg and held it against him. Adeline turned her head so she could catch her breath and Castiel moved his assault down her neck and nipped her like she had done to him then he licked the spot easing the pain and brought a steady warmth there on her neck. "Your smell is intoxicating." He mumbled against her skin breathing in the candy apple and summer smell.
Adeline turned her head to meet his hungry lips. Then giggled when Castiel picked her up. She wrapped her legs around Castiel and gasped softly when she felt his length brush against her thigh. "Well you seem to make me feel things no one else has ever made me feel." She breathed out her head moving back and Castiel kissed the new area she had exposed to him.
Adeline felt herself trembling again but only with warmth this time instead of instability. "Cas." She moaned impatient as Castiel kissed down her chest and kissed each of her nipples in turn.
"Now, I need you inside me now." She gasped opening her eyes and Castiel brought his face back to hers and just looked at her sparkling eyes, filled with love for him. He thought he saw a glimpse of something else but he blinked and it was gone. Castiel kissed her and angled himself so he could push into her.
"Stop! Whatever the hell you two are doing in there needs to stop!" Dean yelled banging on the bathroom door. Adeline broke the kiss gasping and panting along with Castiel and they looked towards the door. "You guys are going to wreck Bobby's house!" He continued knocking on the door and shouting to them. Adeline unwrapped her legs from Castiel's waist and he set her down gently. Adeline realized it wasn't her trembling but it was the whole house. She looked out the shower curtain and saw a mirror had shattered along with a few lights but one was still on and blinking rapidly. "I mean it. Don't make me come in there!" Dean pounded then paused. "Please, don't make me come in there." And Adeline snorted then took in a breath and held it then let it out slowly trying to get her breathing back to normal once she had accomplished that, she felt the house stop moving underneath her.
"Thank God." She heard Dean say before she heard him leave. Adeline turned to Cas and grinned. "Whoops. Look what you do to me." She said and brought her hands around the back Castiel's neck and locked them grinning up at him and he was smiling back at her and moved down and kissed her lightly.
"Addy!" They heard Bobby shout angry and Castiel reluctantly broke the kiss with a sigh. Adeline was annoyed still feeling the need to be touched and to have Castiel move inside her. But she let Cas go and he dropped his own hands and stepped back and moved to get out of the shower. Adeline stopped him by grabbing his elbow and he turned back confused. "We never actually took a shower." She said and Castiel turned back to her.
Adeline started humming and reached for a bar of soap and lathered it up in her hands then rubbed her hands on Castiel's chest, then his arms and bent down to get his legs careful not to accidently touch his erection. Adeline paused when the light in the bathroom started flickering and once it stopped she continued rubbing soap on Castiel as he watched her. "Rinse the soap off. I would do it myself but it seems just by touching you I could have this whole house in a blackout."
Castiel stroked her face lovingly and completely in awe that he was able to make her feel this way and that he felt the same way about her. "I love you." He told her again and she smiled at him feeling her soul come alive then the last light busted and Adeline snorted when they were almost in complete darkness save for the little window that was in the room. "Enough." She laughed at him and pushed him towards the water. She lathered herself in soap and moved so she stood in front of him as the water rinsed them off. She wished she could touch, him, kiss him and make love to him. Castiel was looking at her like she was the most precious thing in the world and it made her stomach flip. "Stop that or I won't be able to control myself." She told him reaching up and her arm brushed against his shoulder as she got the shampoo.
"Like what?" Castiel asked her confused as she squirted some shampoo into her hands and lathered it about in his hair making him want to kiss her. "Like I'm your whole reason for existing." She told him. Ducking his head back under the water covering his eyes. Once the shampoo had washed out she waved him out of her way and he loved and she stood where he had lathering her own hair then washed it out quickly. "But I think you my whole reason for existing." He told her when she looked back up at him.
He smiled when Adeline's face light up and she came over closer to him and gave him kiss. He wrapped his arms around her and they kissed sensually and slowly, Adeline felt his length brush against her and tried her hardest to ignore it as she kissed Castiel until they heard more yelling come from downstairs. Castiel let her go and Adeline sighed turning off the water. Then grabbed her towel as she stepped out of the shower drying herself off. She turned to Castiel and he was looking down and she rolled her eyes. "I would help you with that but I might accidently destroy the house." She told him and wrapped her towel around her then threw one at Cas. "Dry yourself off then wrap that around your waist." She told him as she picked up their clothes.
Castiel stepped out and did as he was told watching Adeline bend down to grab their discarded clothes. She turned back to him and raised an eyebrow guessing what he had been looking at. She grabbed his hand and they walked back to the guest room.
Adeline dropped her towel and went over to her bag and got dressed quickly. She decided to forgo a bra since her tank top had one in it and she never cared for the stupid things anyways. Castiel had just watched Adeline get dress, drinking in her pale skin, her damp blond hair and how it seemed waver when it was wet. She had turned back around and smiled at him then pointed at his hardness. "You can get rid of that by touching yourself, like I did in the shower. You can also think of me." She winked at him going over to the door. She stopped and turned back to Cas. "Get dressed when you're done and come find me afterwards." She said smiling before she left Castiel there.
Adeline went downstairs with a yawn feeling tired already but was at least thankful her pain was gone for now. She whistled taking in a fallen bookcase, broken bottles, broken lights and what looked like to a few cracks on the windows. "My bad." Adeline sighed sitting in a chair watching Dean and Sam clean up the spilled beer.
"My bad? You rock the whole friggin house and all you can say is my bad?" Dean asked her annoyed. "It's not like I did it on purpose." She told grabbing one of the few beer bottles that didn't break. Sam moved over to the bookshelf and was setting it back up. "Look, just do us a favor and no more showers with Cas or anything else with him until we get you fixed." Dean sighed exasperated.
"Fixed?" Adeline asked getting up. "You think you can just fix me? Dean, I have freaking energy running through me just itching to get out and you think you can just fix me?" Adeline growled as her body started trembling. Adeline cursed then sat down Indian style on the floor breathing in and out closing her eyes. Sam came over and started rubbing her back and Dean knelt down worried for his sister. "We have to be able to fix you Ads. I can't lose you too." Dean grabbed Adeline's trembling hands and she opened her eyes and saw an identical set of eyes filled with worry and fear. "I'm really, really sorry about what I said to you in the panic room. I didn't know…I didn't know about her. I'm sorry about the whole sigil thing. I didn't even think that it would send you off too. I'm so sorry Addy." Dean apologized to her his voice breaking at the thought of his sister dying and her not knowing how sorry he was.
He remembered the kiss she had given him on his cheek and it had reminded him of when they were kids and of the silly fights they would have. Life was so much simpler back then he thought agreeing with Addy's earlier words.
Adeline sighed a bit annoyed. "Don't write me off just yet." She told him softly feeling her body stop trembling. Adeline rolled her eyes and squeezed his hands. "I'm not dying yet Dean. I still have you two weirdos to look after." Adeline said looking at Sam then at Dean. Sam and Dean both wrapped their arms around her and she patted their backs.
That's how Bobby and Castiel found the trio. On the ground and hugging each other. "Okay, you three yahoos. We got a demon to trap." Bobby told them breaking them up. Adeline let of her brothers but they squeezed her before letting her go. Sam and Dean got up and Dean held out his hand to her silently asking her if she forgave him and she sighed deciding to let it go, placing her hand in his and Dean helped her up.
"Adeline are you okay?" Castiel asked coming over to her. Adeline patted his chest, "I'm fine Cas." Adeline turned to Bobby and gave him a small smile. "So, should we fix your house before or after the whole devil trapping thing?"
Bobby frowned at her not amused then went outside muttering about how he needed to update the protection of his home.
/
Dean looked behind him and saw Castiel and Adeline leaning against each other as they sleep. They were on the way to Detroit after they had gathered gallons of demon blood for Sam. Adeline had drugged herself up since she was in pain and had fallen asleep soon after. Cas had tucked her hair behind her ears so it wouldn't fall into her mouth and commented about how Adeline was dying to which Dean had told him to shut his cake hole and that they would find a way to heal her. Castiel had brokenly asked him how but Sam and Dean had stayed silent not knowing how. They had all fallen silent and now they heard Castiel's soft snores coming from the back.
"Aren't they little angels?" Dean asked looking over at Sam. Sam looked behind them and saw the two of them leaning against each other and noted their clasped hands. "Angels don't sleep." He said frowning at his brother. Dean looked back at Adeline and Cas then looked at the road before he glanced at his brother. "Well, one of them, I'm pretty sure is in a drug induced sleep…if that helps."
"It doesn't because our sister is dying Dean. She's dying because we convinced Gabriel to fight Lucifer. He died because of us and now Ads is dying, because of us, Dean. She's in enough pain that she has to take an entire bottle of pain meds every other hour. She almost caused Bobby's house to collapse because she was kissing Cas." Sam pounded his fist against the door upset. That whatever was happening to their sister was their fault. Dean's hands tightened against the steering wheel. "I know Sammy. I know it's our fault, no not even ours. Mine, it's my fault she's like this. The blame is on me and me alone and you have my word that once we trap the devil I do whatever it takes to get her better. I'll find a way to get rid of the grace inside her, Sam."
"Don't you dare." They heard their sister say softly. Sam and Dean turned back and saw her green eyes glowing in the darkness. "It's not your fault. I made a deal and I'm paying the consciences. Let me go, I'm tired. I've lost so much and I'm ready for all my pain to be gone. Let me go, Dean." She told him then turned to Sam and sighed sadly. "Let us go."
Sam nodded his head agreeing with his sister. "Don't do anything to bring me back."
Dean frowned, "Your hell is going to make mine look like Graceland…"
"If this all goes to plan, let me go Dean." Sam cut him off serious about this he turned back and looked at Adeline then back at Dean. "Ads is right let us go."
"What the hell am I supposed to do then?"
"Find Lisa." Adeline answered him. "Pray she takes you back, go to barbeques and go to football games. Go live some normal apple pie life. Promise me, promise us Dean!" Sam told him. Dean shut his mouth and looked at the road not looking at Sam or Adeline.
/
"Two dozen demons are inside, you're right this is our spot." Bobby told Dean then walked on over to Sam.
Adeline sighed crossing her arms looking at the building. Her head killing her she walked over to Cas and grabbed his hand and felt him hold onto it tightly she looked up at him and raised an eyebrow. Just as Sam came over. "Take care of these guys."
"That's not possible." Castiel told him and Adeline hid a smile and shared a look with Sam. He then rolled his eyes. "Humor me." He told the angel turned human. "Oh, I'm supposed to lie? Cas looked at Adeline and she gave a slight nod. Castiel gave Sam a fake smile and clutched Adeline's hand. "S-sure, w-we'll be fi…"
"Stop talking." Sam said and gave him a soft chuckle. He looked at Adeline and gave her a small smile. "Cas, can you give us a moment."
Castiel nodded then let of Adeline's hand and walked over to where Bobby was. Adeline moved her hand back and forth surprised it wasn't broken with how hard Castiel had been holding it. Sam wrapped his arms around his older sister and put his chin on top her head as she wrapped her arms around him. "Thank you for taking care of me for all of the years we've been together. I regret not finding you myself when Dean died and I'm sad you didn't come to either of us when Michael and Kayla died. I'm happy that you and Cas were able to find some happiness together and I would do anything to make it last for you. I love you Addy and I will never be able to thank you enough for being the buffer between Dean, Dad and me. I only wished we all treasured you more." Sam moved back some and kissed Adeline's forehead.
A lap post exploded near them and Sam pulled back worried about his sister. Her eyes were glowing and she had a smile on her face. She reached up and smoothed Sam's hair. "Your hair's as long as mine." She told him then got on her toes and kissed Sam's cheek as another lap post exploded then let him go and went over to Bobby as Sam went over to Dean by the car trunk.
She hopped up onto the hood looking up at the building. She felt Lucifer's power though and it was strong she hoped Sammy would be able to win against him. Just as she was thinking that Castiel had grabbed her hand and was holding it. She had no idea though if he was trying to comfort her or if she was comforting him. Either way though she was glad for the warmth his hand brought her.
Sam finished drinking the gallons of demon blood and turned around giving his sister one last look and she nodded her head proud of her younger brother no matter how much it hurt her to lose him. She watched Sam and Dean walk into the building and felt herself trembling and Castiel squeezed her hand and started rubbing his thumb across her hand looking up at her worried but she kept looking up wondering what was happening wishing she could be there with them but with the state she was in she didn't think it wise. So instead she just looked up at the building worried.

The impala has all the things other cars have and a few things they don't. But none of that stuff is important. This is the stuff that is. The old army guy Sam jammed into the backseat ash tray. It's still there today along with the Legos Dean crammed into the air vent, they still rattle to this day. The three siblings had carved their names on the ceiling of the car. Adeline had put a dragonfly sticker on the door handle of the seat she usually sat in and had even drawn a picture of her brothers in glitter glue beside their names. These were the things that made the car theirs, really theirs. Even when Dean had to rebuild the car from the ground up he made sure to restore the items to their rightful place. Because it's the blemishes that make her beautiful.
The devil doesn't know or care what car they have.
Chuck typed in then took a drink of his whiskey before he got back to typing up his last book.

Bobby, Dean, Adeline and Cas were outside a store watching the news as they talked about earthquakes and other natural disasters. "It's starting." Castiel said. "What do you think we should do?" Dean asked him. Castiel grabbed Adeline's hand and she almost wanted to pull it out since he was gripping her hand so tight. "I suggest we imbibe copious quantities of alcohol and wait for the inevitable end."
Adeline snorted. Dean looked over at him, "Thank you Bukowski." He told him sarcastically. Castiel frowned catching it. "You don't have to be mean."
"Then how do we stop it Cas?"
"We don't, Michael will meet Lucifer on the intended battlefield." Castiel told him and Dean sighed then looked over at Adeline who was looking paler and paler each hour. She hadn't even had a sucker today he realized with a frown. "You're dating a pessimist."
Adeline shrugged her shoulders. "Hey, he sees the glass half empty and I see it half filled with poison. We fit perfectly together." She smirked quoting a bit from the movie scoop causing Dean to roll his eyes. "Wonderful, so do you have any idea?"
"I'm a fan of the alcohol although I think we should add sex to the mix. Why not go out with a bang." She raised her eyebrows at her brother with a smirk. Who rolled his eyes once again at his sister realizing she was of no help at this moment. "You're not really helping the matter here? Do you even care?" Dean asked her getting upset. Adeline narrowed her eyes and the tvs and the glass shattered and they all stepped back as glass flew about and all of them except Adeline had gotten hit by it. The glass had flown at Adeline but when it had got to a certain distance it just fell to the ground.
"I care Dean." Adeline stated. "Well I apologize that it takes you destroying a store for me to see that." He replied dryly then turned over to Bobby but he was tearing up. "There was never much hope to begin with. I don't know what else we can do."
Dean threw up his hands and turned around leaving them and got into his car thinking about what he could do. As Adeline started thinking about Chuck and his house not knowing what it could do to her.

In-between jobs, Dean, Sam and Adeline would sometimes get a day, a week if they were lucky to themselves. They spent the time making money, mostly hustling people at pool. Although they enjoyed their freedom, one time driving a thousand miles to see an Ozzy concert another time driving longer to attend a Jayhawks game. At night when it was clear they would park the car and stare at the stars for hours not saying a word. Chuck typed into the computer then jumped at the appearance of Adeline and Castiel right in front of him. He got up worried at how pale Adeline was looking and noted that Castiel was looking at Adeline almost like he was scared for her.
Adeline bent over and threw up some blood. She swiped her hand across her mouth straightening herself back up but felt her knees buckle underneath her. Chuck ran over to go help her but Castiel had it handled. "Chuck, fancy seeing you on this fine day what with the world ending and all." She said with a smirk before she bent over again and threw up some more blood. "Adeline." Castiel said worried but Adeline gained back her feet and waved away Castiel's concerns and even detangled his hand from hers. "Adeline, are you okay?" Chuck asked her worried going over to her. Adeline put her hands on Chuck's shoulders careful not to get blood on his shirt. "That is a very stupid question. I'm not even going to answer it but instead I'm going to ask my own. Where is the final battle being held?" She asked figuring hey she was here she could get some information and maybe help. She was going to die anyways it seemed.
"Stull cemetery, tomorrow. High noon, but I don't think you should be going anywhere." Chuck told her and she rolled her eyes then touched his nose lightly. "You're not the boss of me." She told him her eyes sparkling with a fever. Chuck gazed at her worriedly but also held a little amusement in his eyes and brought his hand to her cheek and caressed it softly much to Castiel's dismay. "You're going to be okay." He told her and she snorted. "Chuck, I'm dying. This is going to be the last time I see you. Because even if by some miracle we stop the devil and Michael from fighting, I'm still going to die." Adeline felt her body trembling again and let go of Chuck wrapping her arms against herself she sat down closing her eyes breathing in and out just as Chuck's phone rang.
"I'm sorry Mistress Magda, this isn't a good time." Chuck said and Adeline glanced over at him with a raised brow as Castiel sat down beside her and wrapped his arm around her. "It didn't really work out with Becky."
"I know, I saw." Chuck said into the phone glancing worriedly at Adeline. "Tomorrow high noon at Stull cemetery."
Adeline looked up and scrunched her eyes figuring out he was talking to Dean. "No, I don't know yet." Chuck said and then hung up the phone before walking back over to Adeline who was still trembling. He looked down at her sadly. "It wasn't supposed to happen like this." He sighed making her raise an eyebrow. "Chuck listen to me. Sometimes things happen, they are out of our control. Our circumstances are made by the choices we make. Sometimes things pan out the way we expect them too. Other times not. Life would be insanely boring if everything worked out the way we wanted it to. God gave us free will, Chuck. It's up to us how we choose to live." She told him taking a breath realizing her trembles weren't going to stop this time.
Chuck was smiling at Adeline and nodded his head. "I always did like you the best out of the Winchesters." He said so softly Adeline and Castiel couldn't make it out. "What?" Adeline asked him. "Nothing, here let me help you up." Chuck bent down and grabbed her arms pulling her up. "I suppose I should leave somehow huh." She said wondering how she should do just that. "Think about Bobby and where you just were before you popped into here." Chuck told her and she looked at him surprised.
"Right." Adeline looked down at Chuck's hands still holding hers arms then moved closer to him and kissed his cheek. Castiel frowned and was glaring at Chuck. Chuck looked at him a little nervously then looked back at Adeline who was wearing a lazy smirk. "For some reason I've always been quite fond of you. Maybe this would've worked out between us if I didn't have Castiel. He's the love the love of my life after all." Adeline grinned up at Castiel and his frown fell away as she gave him a chaste kiss on his lips.
She turned back to Chuck and nodded her head in goodbye before she grasped Castiel's hands and thought about Bobby.
Bobby jumped at seeing Adeline and Castiel just appear and was about to ask them what the hell had just happened they were here one second then gone the next. But Adeline started coughing before she threw up some blood and Castiel rubbed her back trying to soothe her. "Quick, let's go. Dean's already on his way to stull cemetery." She told Bobby when she was done saying she would explain what happened on the way.

Bobby glanced over at Adeline worried, her trembling hadn't stopped since she had gotten back from seeing Chuck. But anytime he tried to voice his worry Adeline dismissed him. "There." Adeline said pointing at Dean who was talking to Michael and Lucifer. Bobby stopped the car and they all got out and Castiel had even got some holy oil and had lite a rag seeing the way Michael was looking at Dean.
"Hey, Assbutt!" Castiel called out and Adeline snorted amused as always at Castiel. The angels and Dean all turned to them and Castiel threw the rag and holy oil at Michael burning him and he fled the scene. Castiel turned over to Dean. "That should buy you some time to talk to Sam, but he'll be back."
"Castiel. Did you just Molotov my brother with holy oil?" Lucifer asked him furious. Castiel looked at him and saw how angry Lucifer was. "Uh…no." He answered nervously. "Nobody dicks with my brother but me." Lucifer said and raised his hand slowly. Adeline pushed Castiel away as Lucifer snapped his fingers. And they all watched her explode. "Noooo!" Castiel screamed before he fell to the ground in pain. His body hurt and he felt like he was going to fall apart.
"She wasn't going to survive anyway. She had way too much power for her little body to handle. Really I probably did her a favor or I guess she did herself a favor. She really should've taken up my offer to kill her the first time we met. She would probably be alive then." Lucifer said coldly looking down at Castiel. "I heard it was supposed to hurt when your soul mate dies. I guess the rumors are true. I'll have mercy on you Cas." Lucifer snapped his fingers again and Castiel exploded just like Adeline had.
Dean and Bobby had recovered from their shock at having seen Adeline die and Lucifer went over to Dean and he tried talking to Sam withholding tears. "I'm through playing nice for Sam's sake." Lucifer told him and threw him against the car hard enough the shield cracked. Bobby shot Lucifer in the chest and he turned around with a frown then twisted his fingers and Dean watched as Bobby fell to the ground dead.
"Sam! Sam, it's me, just take control." Dean tried telling him as Lucifer punched him. "Sam's in here and I'm going to make sure he feels it as I break every last one of your bones." Lucifer told him pulling back his fist to hit Dean again but the sun glinted off the windshield and Sam saw the army guy he stuck in the ashtray and lowered his hand as a rush of memories came back of him and his siblings in that car. He stepped away from Dean with tears in his eyes. He had killed his sister.
"It's okay, I have Lucifer under control." Sam backed up some more and pulled out the rings saying the incantation and dropped them on the ground and the portal opened up behind him. Sam and Dean looked at each other as Sam backed up against the portal.
"Sam, stop. Step away, fighting my brother is my destiny." Sam looked over at Dean again and remembered when they were younger he had often saw Adeline fall back either on the ground or her bed with her arms stretched out before she would fall asleep and he mimicked the pose now and started falling back but Michael came over and grabbed his arm. Sam instead took Michael in his arms and pulled him down with him before the portal closed up trapping both of them in the cage.
Dean looked at where his brother had been shocked and dazed and moved himself closer and felt tears come to his eyes thinking of how both his siblings were gone along with Bobby and Cas. He was now alone. But then he wasn't as Castiel appeared.
"Cas…you're alive?"
"I'm better than that." Castiel told him the knelt down some and touched Dean's face healing him. "Cas are..you God?"
"That's a nice compliment but no. Although I believe God brought me back, new and approved." Castiel told him before he walked over to Bobby and brought him back to life. "What about Addy?" Dean asked him looking over at Bobby relived before turning back to the angel. Castiel frowned, "I can't find her." He admitted sadly. "I tried looking for her everywhere but she's gone. I can't feel her anymore Dean" Castiel said his voice breaking. "Well why not?" Dean asked getting upset. "She's gone Dean." Castiel said looking at the ground feeling tears coming down his face. "I just practically found my soul mate and she's gone." He cried feeling emptiness inside of him.
Dean and Bobby looked over at each other then at Castiel as he cried looking at the spot they had last saw Adeline. Dean walked over and hugged Bobby. "I have a promise to go live up to." He sighed sadly before he pulled back from the older hunter. "You do that boy. Sam and Ads would be happy to hear that." Dean turned and walked over to Castiel and put a hand on his shoulder and shed some tears too at the loss of his sister and brother as Bobby went home to drink and lose himself in his thoughts and sadness. They stayed there for many hours before Dean had got into his car and Castiel joined him as Dean started driving.
"So what are you going to do now?" Dean asked the angel. Castiel turned to look at him, "I'm going to return to heaven I suppose." He answered surprising Dean. "Heaven?"
"With Michael in the cage, I'm sure it's total anarchy up there." Castiel explained to him. "So, what, you're the new sheriff in town?" Dean asked him and Castiel gave a soft snort. "I like that. Yeah I suppose I am."
"Wow, God gives you a brand-new shiny set of wings, and suddenly you're his bitch again." Dean commented not pleased with the news. "I don't know what God wants. I don't know if he'll even return. It just…seems like the right thing to do."
"Even though he brought you back but not Adeline, my little sister?" Dean argued his grip tightening some on the wheel. Castel frowned upset that she was being brought into this. "I think Adeline would want me to help restore order in Heaven."
Dean sighed, 'Well, if you do see him, you tell him I'm coming for him next."
Castiel turned to Dean at the tone in his voice. "You're angry." He stated and Dean rolled his eyes. "That's an understatement."
"He helped, maybe even more than we realize."
"That easy for you to say. He brought you back. What about Adeline or Sam? What about me, huh? Where's my grand prize? All I got was my sister exploding the same sister who you loved by the way and my brother in a hole!"
Castiel swallowed thinking of Adeline and how he would never be able to kiss her again or to bring her pleasure or how he wouldn't be able to put her hair behind her hair or see her sleeping face. "You got what you asked for, Dean. No paradise. No hell. Just more of the same. I mean it Dean, what would you rather have? Peace or freedom? Adeline wanted peace." Castiel said as Dean turned back to the road and he went back up to heaven to help take care of the situation up there.
"Well, you really suck at goodbyes, you know that?" Dean commented even though he was alone in his car.

That was the last time Dean and Bobby will see each other for a long time. And, for the record at this point next week, Bobby will be hunting a rugaru outside of Dayton but not Dean. Dean didn't want Cas to save him. Every part of him, every fiber he's got, wants to die or find a way to bring Sam and Adeline back. But he isn't going to do either. Because he made a promise.
So what's it all add up to, it's hard to say? But me, I'd say this was a test…for Adeline, Sam and Dean and I think they did all right. Up against good, evil, angels, devils, destiny and God himself. They made their own choice. They chose family and, well isn't that kinda the whole point?
No doubt endings are hard but nothing ever really ends does it? Chuck thought before he disappeared just as Sam was standing outside watching Dean with Lisa and Ben as they all ate dinner together then he turned around leaving his older brother behind.
