Sly Cooper and the Gang in: Clan of the Cave Raccoon
?:"...-ry!"
There was loud beeping in Mercury's ears.
?:"...ury!"
Slowly opening his eyes, he could sense himself lying on the ground, covered in deep layer of snow. Mercury groaned as he tried to straighten up. He couldn't believe his 'luck'. He landed on a smaller path below the edge. It was quite a drop and he hasn't collected himself yet, but there was no time... his 'luck' was like a double edged sword. The tigers they so desperately tried to get rid of, landed just across the end of the platform.
Carmelita:"Mercury, can you hear me?!"
Mercury shook his head, trying to get rid of the blur, looking up at Carmelita.
Mercury:"Yeah... I just need a moment."
Carmelita got closer to the edge, gripping onto the ice.
Carmelita:"I'm coming down there, hold on!"
Mercury lowered his head, noticing movement in the corner of his eyes. The tigers started moving, slowly starting to push themselves up. One of them looked at him with an angry look on his face. Mercury gulped, looking up once more.
Mercury:"Carmelita, cancel that! Go to the camp and do your job."
Carmelita looked down on the scene, noticing the tigers trying to get up.
Carmelita:"Are you nuts?! They will rip you to shreds! This was your last trump card, wasn't it?"
Mercury made an effort to try and stand up, falling back onto his back. He looked up at Carmelita.
Carmelita:"What are you going to do?! You can't even get up!"
Carmelita watched him struggling to stand up. Ultimately he fell, again and again.
Mercury:"If all you do is come down here to cover me, there is no way for the you to possibly win this fight."
Carmelita:"I can't just leave you here, not in your condition. You'll surely end up in shreds!"
Mercury tried again, wobbling on his legs, he fell back on his knees.
Mercury:"Shreds or not, this is your only chance to get to the camp without these guys there. Don't worry about me, get going."
Carmelita:"But there is no way for you to..."
Mercury:"I know, but at least I won't owe him anymore."
Carmelita looked at the tigers, who almost regained themselves. Gritting her teeth, she looked back to Mercury.
Carmelita:"Then fucking get up!"
Mercury looked up at her, surprised by her outburst.
Carmelita:"I won't leave before you have gotten your ass off the snow! If you can't, I will personally get down there and make you do it!"
Mercury worked his muscles, trying his best to get up, but to no avail.
Carmelita:"Don't expect me to leave, when all you are doing is watching your enemy be on their way to kill you."
Mercury tried again... no use...
Carmelita:"We both have our duties, remember?"
Mercury:"Duty?"
Mercury looked at the tigers, grasping his katana tightly, he looked back at Carmelita.
Carmelita:"You said you owe Ringtail because of what happened, but what about the promise you gave me? Are you just going to give up this easily? I might need help with the camp."
Mercury looked at Carmelita with widened eyes, realizing what she meant. He crushed a bit of snow in his fingers, ramming his sword sheath in the ground, he threw his katana in the air. With all his might, Mercury stood up, keeping his balance, he extended his arm to the right to catch his sword. Mercury looked up at Carmelita, smiling at her.
Mercury:"You are right, I have a duty to fulfill and a promise to keep. I can't go down like this."
Carmelita:"Yes!"
Mercury looked over to the tigers, seeing they are just about done.
Mercury:"Go now, I'll come after you."
Carmelita:"Promise?"
Mercury smiled, nodding at her. Carmelita left without further ado. Seeing her leave the line of sight, he redirected his gaze to the tigers. They didn't look that happy about his surprise from earlier.
Mercury~"Yeah, I know. We'll have to make use of all the power we have left, even if we end up in shreds."
Mercury went into a fighting stance, moving slightly closer to his enemies.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"Huh, you're done with the chitchat? Took you long enough."
Mercury smiled slightly.
Mercury:"Took you long enough to get up."
The tiger snarled at the comment, bringing up his sword. They were about to move in, when the tiger started coughing up some blood. Looking at it he, he quickly wiped away the rest around his mouth.
Mercury:"Still feeling the kick, eh?"
Mercury smiled at him, indicating the location on his own rib cage. The tiger didn't seem too amused by his mocking, looking at the other tiger. They split up, going at him from left and right.
Mercury~"Sorry, I guess I shouldn't add more fuel, huh?"
The fight began with the tiger on his right, as he started to quickly run at him. Exchanging sword slashes, Mercury tried to keep track on the other one too. He couldn't tell what their plan was, looking back from time to time. The other one just didn't move at all, just lurking behind him. Mercury thought about giving the tiger another kick, but seeing how his leg took the last one, that idea quickly perished. After blocking another blow, the tiger went slightly back, adjusting his pose and rushed at him. Mercury dodged to the side, making the tiger run past him. That's when he saw their plan take action. The other one waited just for a situation like this, rushing at him he grabbed Mercury and held him tightly. They waited for him to dodge one of his movements and then catch him off-guard. Mercury struggled against the tigers grasp. Looking forward at the other one, he saw that all so familiar smile return.
Mercury~"Not... good."
The tiger slowly came walking at them.
Mercury:"What happened, you are being so quiet. Oh wait, I get it. You think if you keep on talking like before you'll lose again, right?"
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"Isn't this situation familiar? Just like back when we would have offed you the first time. I can't tell how you can still be this confident."
Mercury grinned widely at the tiger.
Mercury:"I am having fun, that's all."
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"Fun? Pah."
Mercury~"I don't know if we'll be able to take out the other one after using that move, Aaran... But you are right, we should try."
The tiger stopped in his tracks, looking down on Mercury. Mercury just smiled widely. The tiger couldn't tell how he keeps smiling like that, even in a situation like this.
Mercury~"Alright, might as well..."
The tiger was about to bring his blade down, when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning his head, all went dark quickly. He flew a few feet, hitting the wall after a few seconds. Mercury followed the tiger with his eyes which, once he was lying on the ground, returned to the figure who caused his flight. Mercury couldn't believe his eyes.
Mercury:"Bob!"
Bob didn't look that happy, forming a fist with his hand. Giving the other tiger a rather angry look, he got him to free Mercury without throwing a punch. The tiger ran over to his friend, trying to get him up.
Mercury:"Bob, how did you get here?"
Bob held up the picture he found, showing it to Mercury. Mercury smiled slightly, seeing that his note didn't end up unnoticed.
Mercury:"What about the sprocket? Shouldn't you have gotten that first?"
Bob turned slightly, showing the sprocket on his back. Bob grinned looking at Mercury.
Mercury:"You're the best, pal."
Mercury smiled at Bob. Both of them turned to face the tigers. They didn't look like they had given up yet, but to really beat them it took more than just Bob showing up.
Mercury:"Let me take the one on the right. I took quite a beating through this, but so did he. I should be able to take him out. Okay?"
Bob nodded, looking at the tigers with a grim expression.
Mercury:"And Bob... watch yourself, these guys are more than the penguins during Murray's training."
At first they just watched each other, an awful silence filling the background. But then it merely took a slight movement and they set into motion. Bob and Mercury went in to separate the tigers, giving them a fair chance. Mercury focused his strikes on the tigers weak-points, trying to go for an opening. Bob evaded the tigers blows and swung his bone whenever he got a chance. It felt like they had a high chance of winning in the end, but they forgot a significant factor. Mercury knew he had to end this quickly, he already felt like his head would blow any second. If he had a seizure right now, what would happen to the both of them?
Mercury~"I know, I can feel it myself. We need to end this quickly, let's go for it."
Mercury dodged the tiger's attack, rolling to the side, he looked at him.
Mercury~"We have to make sure, this doesn't turn into a two versus one situation for Bob."
Mercury put his katana in his sword sheath, waiting for Aaran to gather some energy. Sadly, as if it was on cue, Mercury felt heavy pain flowing through his veins, into his head.
Mercury:"Argh..."
Mercury fell down on his knees, keeping him steady with one hand placed in front of him. Bob noticed Mercury's pained groan, as he glanced back for a second.
Bob:"Mercury?"
The tiger went closer, seeing just how defenseless he was at this point. He started running, jumping at him to pin him down. Mercury grumbled, looking at the tiger above. Bob couldn't help himself, turning away to look at Mercury.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"Bad choice."
Bob was hit on the back of his head, making it easy for the tiger to hold him down.
Mercury:"Bob..."
Mercury didn't have much time to look at Bob, as he felt a hand run along his jaw, focusing his head towards the tiger.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"So this is your backup, huh? Far too easy."
The tiger laughed, looking down on him. Bob opened his eyes, looking over to Mercury. Noticing this he felt a slight relief, knowing he is still awake. Mercury noticed the tiger just looking down on him. Dread filled him, seeing the tiger move closer to his face, a smile on his lips.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"You know about that offer from before, with this guy here, there is still a chance for you to do the right thing."
Mercury saw the tiger smile at him, looking into his eyes.
Mercury:"What are you talking about...?"
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"You can join us and get this guy locked up. I'm sure we'll get a lot of money for that."
Mercury sighed, looking up at him.
Mercury:"You are talking too much again, you should watch out before you'll lose yourself again."
The tiger snarled, showing his teeth to Mercury up close. Mercury had to admit the sight was invoking some fear inside him.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"You have got quite some nerve, but you see... we heave the upper hand here. You shouldn't be this cocky anymore."
Mercury:"I don't see the problem, you guys actually already lost. Maybe you should just give up."
The tiger started laughing, looking down on him.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"Maybe I should show you just how much you are stuck in the dirt... or rather snow."
Mercury:"You can't scare me."
The tiger smiled down at him.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"I have got something better in mind."
The tiger snapped his jaw right in front of Mercury's face, making him flinch. The tiger went lower, biting Mercury's collar. Mercury thought for sure that the tiger is going to end him then and there, but like he said, he had intended to do something else.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"I will have my way with you."
Mercury's eyes widened, feeling the tiger rip away the upper part of his hoodie.
Mercury:"Stop! What on earth are you doing?!"
They looked each other in the eye.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"Something wrong?"
The tiger grinned viciously at Mercury.
Mercury:"..."
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"What was that?"
The tiger ripped away the lower half of his hoodie, baring his upper body. Mercury fought against the tiger, trying his best to get free. The tiger grasped Mercury by his jaw, pointing him face towards Bob.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"If you don't stop squirming, your little friend over there will have a rather bad time."
The tiger over Bob showed Mercury his keen blade, giving him a clear grasp of the situation. Mercury looked at Bob, seeing that he was still struck by the impact on his head. He felt his head turn back to the tiger.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"You get me?"
Mercury nodded, feeling the hand release him. The tiger smiled, moving his hands across Mercury's body. Mercury felt anxiety run through all his veins, seeing no way of helping Bob. The tiger moved in towards Mercury, pressing his lips onto his. Mercury had to keep himself from squirming, otherwise Bob would meet his end rather soon.
Mercury~"Think... think..."
The tiger released him, looking into his eyes, he licked his lips. Mercury threw a glance over to Bob, noticing the tiger above him looking quite distracted. Bob seemed as if he almost recovered entirely. Mercury felt the tiger grind further over him. Mercury looked for his sword. He found it, but sadly it was just out of reach. He felt his necklace bounce from left to right.
Mercury~"That's it!"
Mercury looked down on his necklace, he would just have to press the button and it would extend its blades. The tiger saw Mercury look down on his necklace.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"What's that?"
The tiger grabbed the necklace, looking over it.
Mercury:"Nothing, just a necklace someone gave to me."
The tiger looked at Mercury, feeling slightly suspicious. Mercury forced himself to smile. The tiger just kept looking at him. Mercury threw Bob a glance, signaling him to be ready for action.
Mercury:"How long do you want to keep staring at that thing, put your mouth to some use."
The tiger was surprised by those words, but smiled and kissed him again. The tiger roamed with his fingers over Mercury, reaching his pants. This was it, Mercury gave the signal. Bob swung his head upwards, causing the tiger to stagger. The tiger above Mercury looked at the commotion, while Mercury used his chance to rip of his necklace and turn it into the shuriken.
Mercury:"Bob duck!"
The shuriken flew just past Bob's ears, hitting the guard in his chest. Bob went for his bone and knocked the tiger out, afterwards running over to Mercury to free him. The tiger jumped back before Bob could hit him.
Mercury:"Nice one Bob..."
Mercury just sat up, retrieving his katana. Bob was now in a one versus one with the still conscious tiger.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"And that just before we hit the fun part, very sad."
The tiger sighed, looking at Bob. Mercury was glad Bob showed up, there is no telling what he would have done to him.
Mercury:"Alright, big guy, he is all yours."
Bob rushed at the tiger, striking him with a strong hitting combo. Blocking hit after hit, the tiger was pushed backwards. The tiger wondered what happened, not feeling anymore impacts. Opening his eyes, he saw that Bob was gone.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"Running now, are we?"
The tiger laughed, looking around. That was until his eyes met Mercury's. Mercury held his katana up for a moment, pointing it straight at the tiger, afterwards putting it into his sword sheath.
Mercury:"You are wrong, it's over."
Mercury was done collecting the needed energy. The tiger looked at Mercury, seeing him step closer once, twice... and he was gone.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"What?!"
Mercury:"I told you before, you guys already lost. I used the blunt edge of the blade, I hope that pleases you."
The tiger heard the voice coming from behind him, he turned to see Mercury walk a few more steps.
Sabre Tooth Tiger:"What..."
The tiger felt a sudden pain emitting all over his body, making him lose consciousness. He fell in the snow, signaling the end of their battle. Mercury turned, looking at the tigers laying in the snow. He couldn't believe it, but in the end they did it. Mercury walked to the other tiger, retrieving his shuriken. He looked at Bob behind him, looking at him with a smile.
Bob:"So what are you going to do to them?"
Mercury looked over them.
Mercury:"Leave them be, they won't be able to do anything for quite some time now."
It took a moment, but he finally felt his power leave his legs, making him fall into the snow.
Mercury:"That's it, I am all out of juice."
Bob looked over Mercury lying on the floor, wondering how much will power he used to keep this up. He smiled, hearing Mercury snore quietly. Bob moved closer to pick him up, lifting him from the ground. Mercury opened his eyes slightly, as he looked at Bob.
Mercury:"Bob..."
Mercury blushed, leaning against Bob's chest.
Bob:"Let's head back."
Mercury smiled as he nodded at him. Mercury lost himself in Bob's arms, soon falling asleep against him. Mission accomplished.
