As the watched the older Derek infront of them he was no standing still. Something was very different as he stares down at them, Derek's eyes were no longer glowing blue they were a bright yellow.
Erin did the first thing that came to her, she threw her arms around him. Derek was taken back by his but didn't react much once he relaxed. Realizing the onlookers Erinn pulled away from him, her face slightly red. But she didn't care, he was okay, well seemed that way and he was no longer younger he was back.
"Hi". Erin gives him a gentle smile the emotion was clear in her eyes, she wanted cry, but she held her emotions together.
"It's been a while".Derek stepped back.
Erinn nods. "It has, I'm glad your back".
"Me too". Derek steps back and watches those around him. They're waiting for a reaction and he wasn't in the mood to talk.
"Thank you, all of you". He looks onwards genuine in his words as he then looks to Erinn and then he goes to walk away.
"Where are you going?". Erinn moved to follow him as the others stand back.
"I need time to think. You should go on with the others".
"Okay, as long as your okay?". Derek nods and looks to Scott as they stand and watch Erinn and his interaction.
"I'll see you later".
He knew that she wasn't okay, but that sad look in her eyes told him he needed his space from her before he broke down. Erinn on the other hand, knew that he needed time to process his change to figure out how he felt going back.
When she walked away from him, Malia moves forward to place her hand on Erinn's shoulder.
"Is he okay?". Erinn shrugged.
"I'm not sure, I think he needs to escape for awhile".
"That makes sense". Malia looks to Erinn sympathetically.
"Would it be too girlie to say I'm still worried".
"I'm sure he'll figure this out, one thing I know about Derek is he always pulls through. That's what makes you both similar, you're both great at surviving".
"He is maybe I'm overnthinking it like most things".
"Don't worry Erinn it will work itself out".
Malia walks on has Erinn stares to the darkness that Derek quickly disappears into.
That was last time Erinn had spoke to him since he was back, Derek had went into hiding showing up when things were out of control and then retreating back into his shell. The worrying factor of it all was how much Erinn felt effected once more by not seeing him. So she decided to check in on him and the mere fact Melissa had insisted she go visit him with food.
"Hi". Derek remained facing the window silently. "I brought you some food, Melissa cooked some pasta. I thought you'd be hungry".
Derek turns round to look at Erinn who has now walked further into the building. Derek continues to stand near the small windows, today he is wearing a grey shirt making his skin look paler than usual Erinn thinks to herself..
"I'm not, but thanks". His voice is calm.
"You know eating might make you feel better, I know that sounds stupid but it really does". Erin smirks.
"I'm not hungry". Derek grunts to her, leaving Erinn unsure of what is best to do.
"Okay, do you want to go for a walk maybe". Erinn sets he bowl of pasta down on a near table.
"Nope, I just want to stand here in silence".Derek sounds irritated as he leans forward more.
"I'm going now if you need anything, just call when your not being an ass!".
"Why don't you just say what you think?". His words rough.
Derek moves forward away from the window moving towards Erinn who is standing directly in front of him looking shocked. He knew she wouldn't back down, that's why he was attracted to her and why he vauled their friendship. Erinn on the other hand was getting annoyed by he way he was speaking to her, almost as if he wanted the annoyance.
"Whats the point you'll just ignore it, like you've been doing the last couple of days". Erinn bates back.
"I, Haven't". Derek's face reacts, his unearlthy eyes look pissed.
"You have, and I hate complaining because you've been through a lot but I'm just trying to help". Erinn's face crunches up, she feels tears at the anger she feels right now.
"I know". Derek gazes down at her, looking annoyed with himself now.
"Do you, Scott told me where he found being young wasn't the worse part Derek".
Erinns heartbreaks telling him how she feels about him being trapped but someone even if isn't him needs to discuss it, now rather than later.
"I'm not going cry about how I was fucking locked up inside a wall!". Derek shouts, making Erinn jump alittle but she remains still.
"You asked me to tell you how I feel and I am but, then again you don't want to listen you think I'm being naïve".
"It is most of what you say is".
"An what that's who I am, isn't that the main reason we're even friends. You're the dark one and I'm the optimistic one".
"You are but this is different".
"I know, it is but I'm just trying to help".
"What if I don't want it this time".
"Then I said your stupid, Scott told me where he found you and you being young wasn't the worse part Derek".
"I'm not gonna sit around and talk about my feelings".
"That's what worries me, you were put in a wall and you haven't spoken to anyone on how you felt , how afraid you were".
"I've been through worse, I'm not some pathetic person who needs to talk about how terrified I was off being trapped forever. Locked inside a wall, knowing that Kate was still out there".
"You wouldn't; be pathetic at all you'd be normal for once in your life".
"Erinn I'm never going to be something I'm not".
"I don't want you to change, I just want you to understand being afraid is normal".
"It's not, not ever. We survive because fear isn't something we're afforded". Derek remains serious.
"You think I'm weak".
"I think it would be best if you didn't spend so much time around me".
"What, Derek?".
"I'm not safe for you and I'm not going to sugar coat any more".
"You tell me every time we speak the same thing".Erinn voice is soft.
Derek looks onto the young girl, he knows she's hard, but he knows this is what is best for both of them. Erinn can't believe she's being friend dumped by the only person in Beacon hills that get her.
"This time, I mean it. I can't protect you". Derek says tightly.
"I don't need protecting, I'm getting stronger. There's something more you're not telling me". Erinn glares at him curiously.
"I am done babysitting you, you come here expecting things that I can't give you". Derek's words were like venom.
"I, don't". Erinn shocked her words don't come out.
"Go Erinn, little girls are better staying at home". Derek's eyes glow slightly.
"Fine".
"Good, now leave I'm busy". Derek moves away from her leaving her feel alone.
"You know sooner or later you're going hate yourself for this for rejecting the one person who knows you".
Erin ran, she didn't look back, she ran home and straight to her room and cried. Derek Hale didn't want anything to do with her because of the responsibility he thought he didn't want.
Derek couldn't move, he had destroyed it as usual and has she left quickly he lifted whatever he could and safe today the loft was no longer looking the same. Destruction he had destroyed her, but his home also, he needed to protect her. Being locked in the wall wasn't the only misery that kate had made him endure.
