I have 13 chapters to add. Better get to work. :)

Victoria arrived at Mobius in the morning. She looked around and thought the scenery was odd. The ground around the castle seemed disturbed. Bits and pieces of dirt were scattered around the castle. She noticed a very small crevasse around the structure. She hopped over it on her way to the door. Sonic was the first to answer. He was up rather up early.

"You came," Sonic said. "Is that headache better?"

"Yes, I feel fine now," she replied. "How is Terios?"

The hedgehog didn't reply. He just led her to the throne room where Amy sat. Everything was explained to her. She was in complete disbelief.

"Impossible," Victoria screamed. "He was exactly like Terios in more ways than one."

"I don't want to know what you mean by that," Sonic said. He sat down and pulled out an apple. "We want you to come with us."

"Why?"

"It might be dangerous for you to stay behind and oversee Lavertium's operations," Amy explained.

"I'm perfectly capable of doing so."

They both looked at her in complete shock. Sonic almost dropped his apple.

"The citizens of Lavertium completely trust me. When you reunited us, Terios made sure to treat me with the respect I deserved, and that included introducing me properly to the citizens. They accepted me since I made their king happy."

"Looks like you got told," Sonic said to Amy. He reclined in his chair. "Victoria is respected by her country."

"I see. I was wrong about you."

"But I still want to go."

Now Sonic dropped his apple.

"I refuse to believe your story. That has to be Terios. It just has to be."

"What makes you so sure," Sonic asked.

Victoria blushed and put her hands on her face.

"Never mind," Sonic said. "If you want to come, you can come. This will be good anyway. Once we get the Platinum Sword, we can see if she's compatible with it."

"Sorry about that. I possess no special abilities like magic. I can only use a sword. I doubt I'll be of any use to you all."

"Wait," Amy said. "You must have something. Your clone that attacked us was able to use one of the legendary swords. You are either a mage or a wizard. You have to be."

"I don't know any magic."

"We'll figure that out later," Sonic said. He got out of his chair. "I'll lead you upstairs to an empty room that you can take."

Cosmo stepped into the courtyard for the first time in a while. Everything was normal except for one, huge change. The fountain was removed. In its place stood seven metal beams. Her curiosity got the better of her and she stepped towards them. She attempted to touch one and received a slight jolt. This made her jerk her hand back. Miles stepped into the courtyard.

"You tried to touch one, didn't you," he asked.

"Well, why are they here anyway?!"

Miles chuckled. "These beams are used to check for integrity. I can use one of my powers to send energy through a beam to test for circuit completion. They are protected by an invisible shield of electricity."

"You could have told somebody," Cosmo pouted.

"Sorry about that. I know you like to sit in the courtyard during the day."

"How do you know that?"

Miles turned his head. "That's not important. The only thing I changed was the fountain. Everything else is the same, including the flower bed. I'll go check on Knuckles before we leave."

His tails rotated then he took off to the roof.

Blaze entered Cream's office. The rabbit sat there with her head on her desk. She was in a deep sleep. Blaze noticed the stack of papers on the edge of the desk. She slammed the door behind her. Cream jumped out of her chair and fell on the floor.

"Blaze, why," Cream begged. She flailed her arms around.

"I just had to," Blaze replied. She sat in the empty chair. "Are you done?"

"Yes, I finally finished all the work assigned to me. Oh, these are yours." She handed Blaze some papers. "Take these with you to the outpost."

"I will." Blaze walked out of the room. "You should get some sleep. Say goodbye to Amy for me."

Cream's head met with her desk again once her door was closed.

"Everything is set," Miles told Knuckles. "It's time to go. Start lifting the castle, but don't move it south until Amy forms a shield."

Miles flew off of the side of the castle. Knuckles got to his feet.

"I guess it's time, but he said south. Why are we going south?"

Miles flew into the throne room. "Amy, to the courtyard!"

Once they entered the courtyard, Knuckles had already begun to lift the castle. Everyone came outside to watch. Amy twirled her scepter and encased her castle in a bubble. A very strong, thick, clear shield slowly formed around the castle. Once the castle was covered, Knuckles moved it south.

"Shouldn't we be going east," Sonic asked.

"We should stop by the Chaotix Republic first," Miles suggested. "I need to add some things to the castle and I'm hoping they have the materials for it."

"What are you planning to add," Amy inquired.

"I'm planning to add four things. First thing is a way for you to make bubbles for the castle from inside. Second thing is a way for Sonic to use Chaos Control on the castle from the inside. Third thing is a way for us to defend the castle from the inside. Finally, a portal system so we can see what's going on around the outside of the castle at all times from every angle."

"Sounds useful," Sonic replied. "What do you need?"

"I just need more silver."

"Really?"

The castle moved across the horizon. Knuckles stared into the distance. He found it surreal that a castle could be made to fly. He thought the view was breathtaking during this sunny day. With his back on the Master Emerald, he crossed his legs, had his hands behind his head, and relaxed as he watched the landscape scroll.

"Do I have to stay out here at all times with it," Knuckles asked.

The Master Emerald propelled the castle at a steady pace. It wasn't anywhere near as fast as Sonic's Chaos Control, but it was faster than his on-ground running speed by about double. This cut their travel time in half. They should arrive at their destination before the sun sets. Sonic and Miles came to the roof. Knuckles waved at them.

"You know, you don't have to stay up here," Sonic suggested.

"I was hoping that was the case. It's cold out here."

"All the hard work is done," said Miles. He stared at the shrine and got another look at his achievement. "We should relax. It's been a long time since we've been able to clear our minds."

"I already know what I'm going to do." Sonic ran back into the castle. He left a blue trail behind him.

"What do you think he's going to do," Knuckles asked.

"Lounge around, eat apples, and nap," Miles predicted. "That's fine. He's earned it. We've all earned a break."

"I agree."

Sonic walked through the main hall with a bucket of apples in his left hand. He used his right hand to munch on one. Suddenly, he found his legs trapped. He looked down and saw Maria. She clutched to him with an expression of great fear. She worriedly looked around.

"What's the problem," Sonic asked with a mouth full of apple.

"Since action has died down, Cosmo and Cream are becoming crazy again."

"What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean."

"Oh yeah, they both are in to Miles for some reason. What that has to do with you?"

"I like them both and they have been really nice to me, but lately I feel as though they are just using me as a tool to win my brother's affection."

"Have you talked to Miles about this?"

"No I haven't."

"Well, you should. This is his fault anyway for not choosing one yet." Sonic started on another apple. This made him think. "You know, it might be better to let this run its course. We are going to the eastern continent, where Cosmo comes from but couldn't return since her ship crashed. If she wants to stay at her home then Miles will have to make a choice. It won't be too far off. I say just bear with it for a little longer."

"I guess so, but can I stay with you for the rest of the day?" Sonic made the mistake of looking at her face. Her eyes practically begged him. He couldn't refuse. "I promise not to be too much of a bother."

"Fine."

Sonic sat in his chair like he normally did. There was just enough space for Maria to fit. She sat in front of him and rested her back on his chest. Sonic offered her an apple which she gladly accepted. He never handed out one of his apples before.

"What is it like in the future," she asked while she munched on an apple.

Sonic wanted to fill her head with wonder, but due to recent events he answered simply.

"Not much different," he replied with his eyes closed.

"You are worried about the two from your time period, aren't you?"

"Not worried. I just want to kick their butts."

"I know. I was at the meeting." She finished her apple. Sonic gave her another! "What do you think the other continents are like?"

"The Master Emerald gave us a small picture of the eastern continent. It was some weird, futuristic place within what looked like a jungle. It doesn't matter to me anyway. I just want my Chaos Emerald."

"I hope you get them and are able to return soon."

"Everyone has been very helpful to me so far, your brother in particular. I think I'll be able to pull this off and make things right before I leave. I'm not really worried about what lies ahead. I just want to deal with Shadow and Egghead."

Sonic patted her on the head. He handed her his bucket of apples. Not too long after, he started snoring.

Miles floated to the courtyard to his metal beams. He was surprised, but also relieved to find it was empty. He didn't notice anyone else.

"I should check the circuitry and see where I could input extra lines."

He closed his eyes and touched each bar. Cream floated in from the back. Cosmo entered the courtyard from the castle. Miles didn't notice them. He was focused on his current objective, but they saw each other. Their gazes met. Neither said a word because Miles was right in front of them. Once he finished his check, he opened his eyes. He could see them both and froze in his tracks. He didn't turn his head.

I made a promise to both of them! I hope they forgot.

He was about to fly away, but someone was in one of the flower beds behind the bench. It was Victoria. She stood up and greeted him.

"You are Miles, right? It's nice to meet you again."

"Nice to see you too, Victoria," he replied nervously.

"I like this castle's small garden. It's better than the one we had."

"Amy does take care of it every morning."

"She does a great job! See you around, cutie."

"Cutie?"

"Well, yes. You are very adorable. You are small, have a cute face, two nice fluffy tails; I'd keep you for myself."

Miles let out a fake laugh. On the inside, he feared for Victoria's safety. He decided to use her.

"Have you ever been to the castle's roof?"

"No I haven't."

He started up his tails then floated above her head. The fox reached down for her.

"Let me take you there and show you."

He grabbed her hand and took off with her to the roof. He looked down the other two who stared him while he ascended.

They aren't gonna buy it.

"Did you see that," Cream asked. "That act was terrible. Why would he go out of his way to avoid us?"

"I know the answer to that question. He probably said that after he built his ship, he'd spend some time with both of us. He made a promise he obviously couldn't keep." Cosmo sat on a bench. "This is interesting."

"What do you mean?"

"He finally has to make a decision of some sort. He has to choose which one he'd rather spend time with first."

"You're right. Let's see which one he chooses."

Miles landed on the shrine then sat on the upper-most step. Victoria sat right next to him.

"You used me to get away from those two, didn't you," she said.

"You noticed," he replied. He kept his head down. "Yeah, I did. Sorry about that."

"It's fine. Don't worry about it. Why are you avoiding them anyway?"

"It's a long story."

"You can't avoid them forever you know. I don't know anything about your current issue, but it's wrong to ignore two people, especially if you know their intentions. That only makes you seem selfish."

He knew she was right, but he still wished that he didn't have this problem. The fox then remembered something. He waved at Victoria then flew into the castle.

After a bit of searching, he walked out of his room with a very important item. Before the unexpectedly short war started, Cosmo gave him that purple jewel that resided on her chest. He was supposed to return this, but never did.

I have to give this back to her, don't I? If I do and Cream notices, she might get the wrong idea. If I talk to Cream first then Cosmo might get the wrong idea. I still have to give this thing back to her though. What am I supposed to do? Wait, I have an idea.

Miles went to the throne room and grabbed his sister. She was in the process of napping right next to Sonic. She yawned and rubbed her eyes.

"What's the problem, brother?"

Miles ran his idea by her. Even though she could barely keep her eyes open, she tried her best to follow his explanation.

"That sounds terrible. Please don't do it."

"What's wrong with it?" Miles placed his arms on her shoulders and shook her a little. Maria was still in a sleepy state.

"You don't get two girls in the same room at the same time that you know both like you and explain your feelings to both of them at the same time. That can only end badly."

"You're right. I'm an idiot."

Maria walked towards the throne room. "When it comes to girls you are." She got back in the same chair as Sonic then fell asleep right next to him once again.

"Hearing that from my own sister is depressing." With his head down, he walked up the stairs. "Maybe I should just stay in my room until we arrive."

While in his bed, Miles played catch with that jewel. "What is this thing for anyway? Why is it so important?"

Vector and Charmy sat around in their manor at the Chaotix Republic. On the couch Vector rested. He had his hands behind his back and his eyes closed. Charmy, on the other hand, acted completely opposite to Vector. He sat in a chair and constantly looked around. The bee was very nervous and shivered occasionally. He'd get up and fly around the manor from time to time.

"What's your problem," Vector asked. He got tired of hearing Charmy's wings.

"Aren't you worried about Mighty coming here to attack us," Charmy screamed.

This made Vector fall out of his couch. "I must admit I'm a little worried too, but he's not here now. No use racking our minds over it until it actually happens."

That made Charmy even more nervous. Not once had he heard Vector expressed fear in any way, shape, or form. Vector climbed back into his couch and decided to relax some more.

"I'm not afraid of Mighty anyway. I can handle him with my eyes closed."

Charmy looked out the window. He noticed that shade was casted over the manor. This didn't make sense to him because it was the middle of the day and last time he looked outside, the sky seemed nearly cloudless. He opened the door and went outside. He tilted his head back and looked up. Charmy never saw Robotnik's craft until today that is. He had no idea what it was, so he tapped Vector on the forehead.

"We have visitors," he said.

Vector slowly got to his feet and stepped outside. He froze in his tracks. He watched as Mighty, Robotnik, Elise, Shadow, and Sally slowly made their descent onto his front yard. Charmy grabbed Vector's arm and looked at his face. He didn't like what he saw. Vector's mouth was wide open as he watched the party walk over to him.

"Mighty, is this really necessary," Robotnik asked. "We don't have to do this now."

"I say we get it out of the way early," Mighty replied. A sheath made out of pure gold was fabricated for the Platnium Sword. He pulled it out. "We know where all the other treasures are. Let's just finish Vector and get the watch from him then we can be on our way."

"We are short on time so make this quick."

With a sinister smile on his face and a strut in his step, Mighty practically danced over to Vector.

"I've been waiting for this day more than any other," he said. "Hand over the watch."

The crocodile finally came to his senses. He shook Charmy off of him. The bee flew into the manor.

"You know I can't give it to you," Vector replied.

"I was hoping you'd say that. Finally I get my revenge on the person who betrayed me in the past."

"Mighty, don't you see? It's the other way around."

"No, you are the one who is blind. Poor, old man, let me end your suffering today."

"What are you even talking about? I'm only a few years older than you!"

"Get on with this already," Robotnik shouted.

Mighty ran at Vector. He held the Platinum Sword in his right hand and kept the left one free. Charmy flew out of the manor as fast as he could. He held two axes. Both had a green blade and a very long wooden handle. He threw them at Vector. The reptile jumped back and caught both of them, each in one hand. He formed a cross with them in front of his face.

"Wouldn't it be humorous if the student murdered the teacher," Mighty said.

He jumped back then went in for another swing. Vector blocked that with the right axe.

"That would be if it had any chance of happening," Vector replied.

He pushed Mighty off of him then went in with a swing of his own. Might saw that coming and barely dodged. The blade just missed Mighty's red back. Vector wanted to take this fight cautiously. He had two things to worry about. Firstly, he couldn't let Mighty touch him with his left hand and secondly, he didn't want any part of the ability that the Platinum Sword should have gained from Mighty's use. Charmy watched as his father figure struggled. He couldn't do anything of course. This made him feel helpless and had him on the verge of tears. Mighty was constantly on offense outside of the odd counter-swing from Vector. He was far too focused on Mighty's free hand. Mighty knew this and amidst their weapons clashing, he formulated a plan in his head to take care of that.

He waited for another clash that involved both of Vector's axes. When he got one, he grabbed one Vector's right axe with his left hand. Vector dropped it immediately. The part of the axe Mighty grabbed had stone on it. He wanted to jump for that axe, but Mighty swung for his head. Vector quickly ducked and held his axe above his head to block that sword. Mighty jumped into the air. The blade of his weapon now had a black aura around it. He swung his sword vertically as hard as he could. This created a traveling pocket of air pressure that was red in color and looked similar to a small bomb exploding. Vector jumped out of the way. It collided with his manor and split it in two as a result. Charmy got on his hands and knees and started bawling. Vector didn't pay it no mind since Mighty was still in attack phase. One he landed, he stood in position and swung his sword many times. Vector noticed the blades of wind and did his best to avoid every last one. He made it unscathed, but sadly his second axe did not. One of the blast collided with the blade on his axe. That made the blade explode. Fragments of the blade passed across Vector's face which left him many small cuts that leaked blood. He wiped himself off then stared at Mighty. Vector was without a weapon now.

Knuckles walked to the roof of the castle. He looked south and could see Robotnik's craft in the distance. He jumped off of the roof and crashed into the castle through a window. Knuckles ran into the throne room and saw Sonic asleep in a chair with Maria right next to him. Knuckles slapped Sonic in order to wake him up.

"Robotnik is outside of the Chaotix's Manor."

Sonic jumped up. "What?!"

He ran towards the castle's entrance and jumped out of the door. With his sword in his right hand, he fell on the scene. He didn't notice that Maria was right behind him. Once he landed, he pulled out the Blue Chaos Emerald and quickly did Chaos Control. Shadow, which had leaned against a tree, pulled out his Cyan Chaos Emerald. It reacted due to Chaos Emeralds in the vicinity. Since he couldn't see anything, he activated Chaos Control as well. Once he did, he saw Sonic running towards Mighty. This made him spring into action. Sonic reached Mighty before Shadow did. He jacked the Platinum Sword out of Mighty's hand. Everyone else looking on had no idea what just happened of course, Mighty included, but they figured it out once Sonic and Shadow appeared right next to the action. The black hedgehog grabbed Sonic's arm. Robotnik and his entourage turned around. They saw the castle that quickly approached in the distance.

"A flying castle, eh," he said. He rubbed his chin. "That's how they managed to pull it off in such a short time.

Sonic turned towards Shadow and used his free arm to hit Shadow in the back of the head with his elbow. Shadow released his grasp. Sonic tossed the Platinum Sword at Vector. He jumped to the side and caught it by the handle. The blue hedgehog jumped back and got on Vector's side.

"I don't know what's going on here, but it seems like you're outnumbered," Sonic said.

"You came at just the right time," he replied. "Sadly, I don't know how to use this thing."

"Well, you better figure out how."

Shadow moved towards Sonic so fast that no one else could see him move except for Sonic. The hero returned his sword to his sheath. He ran in Shadow's direction. They collided with their fists then disappeared again and continued to clash with each other randomly. Shadow thought that it would be best to just keep him busy for now.

Mighty knew Vector didn't use swords so he jumped into action with his back-up weapons, the two daggers he carried with him. Vector tried to block Mighty with the Platinum Sword, but Mighty saw an opportunity and kicked Vector's arm. This made him toss the sword aside. Vector scrambled for it since that was the only weapon he had at the moment so Mighty ran over. Vector managed to pick up the sword, but Mighty caught him in a disadvantageous situation. He sent the dagger in his left hand across Vector's chest. The wound that formed slowly turned to stone! Vector couldn't believe his eyes. He fell over and coughed up blood. Sonic wanted to run over, but Shadow didn't give him the chance. Mighty picked up the Platinum Sword.

"I can send my new power through my weapons," he explained. Once the Platinum Sword returned to him, it regained that black aura. "It's a shame you couldn't get this glorious weapon to work for you. I've found it quite useful. Now then, tell me where the watch is and I'll end your pain and suffering."

"N-never," Vector replied. His heart beat gradually slowed. His breath became short.

"That's too bad. You are now useless to me." Mighty raised the sword. "After I decapitate you, maybe I can get it out of your lackey."

Mighty brought his sword down. Vector feared the worst and closed his eyes. When he opened them, he was shocked that he wasn't dead yet. Sonic got a look at the scene while he fended off one of Shadow's attacks and absolutely hated what he saw. Maria stood in front of Vector. With black gauntlets on both of her arms, she blocked the Platinum Sword.

"This is a nice turn of events," Mighty said.

Maria didn't reply. She pushed Mighty off of her. The fox spread her arms out. A black aura, similar to the one around the Platinum Sword formed around her. Her eyes became a color similar to a very bright flame. She raised her right hand.

"Destructive magic delta, Sword of Justice."

A sword made completely out of the black aura formed in Maria's hand. It was three times the length of her body, much larger than Mighty's weapon. She jumped towards him. Maria moved at near Sonic speeds despite the large sword she now carried. Mighty wasn't worried. He thought now would be the time for his new toy to show him what it was made of. He gripped it tightly. The black aura around it grew in strength. He held it to his face and was able to block Maria's large sword. This put a smile on his face.

"I don't know how long this will last, but I should be able to finish things quickly," Mighty said. "I'll take you on, god from another world!"

Maria's facial expression never changed. She was on auto-pilot now and didn't control her body anymore. Her powers did.

Miles looked around the castle for his sister. He remembered she was with Sonic, but now since Sonic jumped out of the castle she was gone too.

"Who is going down there," Amy said. She stood in the main hall with Cosmo, Cream, Victoria, and Knuckles. "I don't want to leave the castle empty except for the staff since we have the holy treasures on board."

Miles used his tails to propel himself and zipped towards them.

"Maria is missing," he screamed.

"Oh, she jumped out of the castle with Sonic," Knuckles said.

"What?!"

"I'll stay behind," Knuckles said. "The rest of you go."

"Ok then, please keep an eye on the castle and Victoria."

Once Amy, Cosmo, Miles, and Cream got on the scene they couldn't believe their eyes. Sonic was still going nowhere against Shadow, Vector's life hung on by a thread, and Maria had swords crossed with Mighty of all people. Miles immediately flew over to Vector and picked him up.

"So the gang is all here," Robotnik said.

They turned around. Sally had her wand out. Elise clutched her staff with both hands.

"You will not be interfering with Mighty," Elise said.

"What should we do," Cosmo whispered to Amy. "Fighting them now seems pointless."

Amy was about to say something, but she turned to Cream. She looked very angry. Miles landed with Vector near his group. Robotnik raised an eyebrow once he saw Cream's face.

"I think we should retreat," he said to Elise.

"But why," she asked.

Robotnik sighed. "It's too late."

Cream took off towards Maria and Mighty. Maria's body saw her out of the corner of her eye. She stepped to the side. Mighty turned around. Cream punched him in the face. He slid across the grass and tumbled as he slowed down. This made Sally jump to action. With her wand in hand, she ran towards Cream. Cream lifted her arm up. Sally's wand turned into a double blade sword. She held on to it with both hand and brought it down on Cream. The rabbit blocked that with her arm. Sally found it odd that her sword couldn't even touch Cream. It floated above her arm as if her body emitted some type of magnetic field.

"Leave Maria alone," Cream shouted.

"What the," Charmy said. He flew over to Amy. "What's up with this?"

"Cream is mad so now her healing powers are on destructive mode," Amy explained. "Cosmo, we should give Maria and Cream some time."

"Right," Cosmo said.

"I wanted to avoid this today," Robotnik said as he pulled out his sword. "We aren't leaving without the watch."

"Can I fight the crazy pink one," Elise asked. She stuck out her tongue.

"Miles, take Vector and Charmy to the castle," Amy ordered. She removed her limiters. "You'll regret saying that," she said to Elise.

Before the five on five seriously got underway, Robotnik looked up. A hole was made in his ship. A bright, green light came through that hole and some metal fell down to them. Amy, Cosmo, Robotnik, and Maria had to jump out of the way of it. Pope Silver floated down through this hole. He had large wings on his back similar to the angels used in the holy army. Only one person knew what this meant and that person was Sally.

He's dead? But how? We had him handcuffed.

He landed on the scene. Without a word said, he opened his right hand and aimed it at Sonic and Shadow. He released a shockwave that stopped them in midair.

"What now," Sonic screamed. "I can't move."

Shadow didn't say a word. He just looked on.

The silver hedgehog moved towards the main squabble instantly. Sonic and Shadow couldn't even see it.

I only get one shot. I have to make this count.

He sent his right arm across his chest. He then flung it forward. This repelled Sally and Maria who were in the way. Only Cream and Mighty remained. Pope Silver stuck both of his arms out in front of him. He shot a blue beam at Mighty. Since Cream was in the way, she also got caught in it. Everyone looked on in confusion and terror except for Robotnik and Elise. Elise grabbed him and flew back to their ship at the first opportunity.

I forcibly took my own soul which is a great sin, but before I ascended I had to make things right. It's a shame she got caught in the beam, but she'll be going to a better place along with me.

The beam cleanly went through both of them. The blast was strong enough to lift both of them off of the ground. Pope Silver kept the beam up until he got what he wanted. He saw both of their souls ascend. No one else could see them. When he saw that, he dropped the beam.

"I knew we should have killed you, you troublesome pope," Mighty said to him.

Pope Silver smiled at him. "Before I left this planet, I wanted to make things right. I was granted the powers to do so even though I took my own life. I figured the quickest way to solve this would be to take your soul."

Cream looked all around as she floated in the air. She saw her body on the ground, she saw Mighty's soul, she saw Amy who cried deeply for her best friend. This made her cry as well.

"I'm sorry that my beam hit you, but my time with my powers was limited. I had to act quickly and Mighty was my intended target."

Cream didn't reply to him. He grabbed her arm.

"I don't know if it's possible, but I will find a way to send you back if I can."

As Mighty walked upward, he gave Pope Silver a little nugget of information.

"I might not have been the best target, you know. Despite our recent alliance, I could never trust that human for some reason. He had his own goals, his own ambitions that he always kept as a secret. Even though I'm dead, the plan to reshape the world might still be on."
