Chapter 26

With Hermione still under a sleeping potion and Ginny too worried about her friend to argue, the Fellowship left. Although Ginny being a smart girl herself spent the last day picking up on small bits of conversation to try and figure out which path they would be taking, and she managed to steal a map. Ginny refused to see them of feeling too annoyed.

Hermione POV

I woke up and instantly felt the effects of a sleeping potion. I looked over and found Ginny frowning over a map.

"Hey sleepy head," I smiled at my friend,

"So I'm a bit hazy on what has happened," Ginny looked up from the map and handed me a drink,

"Drink up, your foot should be healed by tomorrow. And a good thing too, we need to find Remus and Sirius." Flashbacks flowed through my mind, "Yes they left two days ago, they did not want us to come. However Remus, I am assuming, knew we would attempt to come so they put you under a sleeping potion and delayed the healing process."

"WHAT." I shouted out, how dare they do that to me, to Ginny. I admit we did not have anything here to fight for, but we would not so easily leave Remus and Sirius they were all we had left from our world. There was also a selfish reason, I felt abounded, I had trusted Aragorn and he betrayed my trust by making a decision for me. I drowned the potion,

"Don't worry I overheard which path they are taking and so I stole a map I am just having trouble trying to decide which would be the quickest way. Rest today, I will get everything we need for the trip. Tomorrow hopefully your foot would have healed, we will leave." Ginny handed me the map and told me where they were heading, and while she stole bits and pieces around Rivendell I choose the path we would take.

The next morning we rouse before dawn I tested my foot and thanked the gods that Remus was talented at potions. I took my wand, only because I felt better having it on me. Using magic without one has been hard. We dressed quickly, Ginny having stolen some cloaks, we covered up. We decided we would be more comfortable in our own clothing. Ginny did however pack some legging type pants and tops which were used. I used my beaded bag to put our supplies in. We sneaked out of the room hoping to not get caught. Magic would have been easy to use, but it took up a lot of energy and I did not want to be in a situation where I had nothing to defend myself with. I cursed this place for making my magic change with my body. But on the plus side we were both able to walk around without making any noise. We got to the gates, nearly making it out but

"Where do you two elflings think you are going?" I cringed, and turned around facing Arwen and Lord Elrond. I decided the truth was a good option but with the truth I would also get us on our way. Ginny went pale and looked at me, I would do the talking.

"Why does it concern you?" I asked and waited for an answer,

"Come, you have no business passing these gates." I glared at them both,

"You do not decide what is best for us. You do not decide where we go or when we go. You hold nothing to us for we are nothing to you. Our friends have left us and deceived us. If you cared at all about us, you will let us leave NOW." We stood eyeing each other off daring the other to back down.

"I am sorry you feel that way, I cannot allow you to leave." I scoffed,

"On who's orders, yours? I don't think so." I replied not braking eye contact, he sighed

'Aragorn, Remus and Sirius decided that you were to both stay behind." I shook my head and before I could say anything Ginny had her wand out,

"That son of a bitch." I tried to keep a straight face, oh yes Ginny had grown quiet a temper, I can hardly blame her, Harry had done what Sirius and Lupin had done. Left without her; I could understand why she would feel more betrayed. I looked back noticing they were frozen. Ginny grabbed my hand and pulled me away. We ran until we could no longer; taking out the map we started hunting down our prey.

"Ginny I am sorry, I now know how you must have felt when we left." I started as we walked,

"Don't even worry about it, I could not have come and although it hurt like hell at first. After a month at Hogwarts I realised there was no place I'd rather be. Neville helped me and together we recreated the DA and my skills were out to better use protecting the students. Giving them hope." I pulled her into a hug,

"Harry was proud of you." We walked on in silence, not stopping for we were keen to make up as much ground as possible. The week went on pretty much the same, eat, sleep, walk.

"Hermione I think we may need a bit of magical help, if we are going to catch up to them at all." I sighed knowing she was right, I just hoped it would not ware us down too much. It was too hard to apparate for we did not have a clear destination in mind.

"We could use a speed spell I suppose." I suggested, we spent a few moments trying to come up with another plan. In the end we both agreed that a fast spell was what we needed. I cast the spell and soon we were running faster than I could have thought possible. Before I knew it we had indeed made up a lot of ground and I took the spell off us when I heard voices.

"Wow that worked better than I thought it would." Ginny exclaimed getting her breath back. I nodded in agreement.

"So now we have found them I do not think now is the time to announce ourselves. We should wait another day or two. Or even better stay undercover until they need us." Ginny agreed we spent the rest of the day following in the shadows and we picked up small talk from the back. That was one bonus about being an Elf, being able to hear from great distances. Night took over and the group settled down as did we.

"I wonder if Harry and Ron and watching us right now." Ginny said, watching the stars.

"I have no doubt. I bet they are sitting up there shaking their heads and having a great time watching us dramatically fail at this new life." I replied laying down and looking at the stars.

"I have no doubt either." I shot up like a rocket with Ginny by my side, I turned around and faced a very angry looking Legolas.

"We should not have underestimated you. I do wonder how you escaped Rivendell though." We stood eyeing each other off, fury steaming off my body.

"I am also wondering how," a stern voice came floating through the night air. Dark angry eyes met us, I would have shivered under both sets of angry eyes but I was also angry and I cared not what they thought.

"I am wondering how you knew we were here." I growled back, "If you would be so kind to inform us, then we will learn from our mistake." I knew it was going to be a long night. But I was not willing to back down.
