From the end of chapter 26
...
"I will lay down more then just the world at your feet Alicia," he whispered in my ear. "All is yours as you are mine."
"How did you just hear what I was thinking?" I asked stunned that he had just answered my thoughts.
"I am a god Alicia, you need to get used to my powers." He smirked at me.
"What about my freedom? Or will you keep me locked up as a valued price?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Patience Alicia," he coed me and then spun me around swiftly in the grand hall.
Chapter 26
Alicia
Such a night it had been, beyond anything I could ever imagine. The magnificent dancing creatures, with gowns and shapes I never witnessed before, the delicious food I had been given and the always tingling sensation that flared up like a fire everytime Enosos turned his full attention towards me. Which had been happening frequently through the night.
As the evening grew darker, the noise grew louder and it seemed as all creatures forgot their troubles and truly celebrated the occasion. The previous stiff and ceremonial feeling was gone and what I was witnessing seemed to get more and more out of control.
I was sitting at Enosos side in a throne like chair by the head of a dinner table. The dance floor was just infront of us.
His wings brushed by my left arm and it made me tear my attention away from dancing couples. I quickly spun my head over my shoulder, curious, as it had been by accident or not.
His eyes was shining at me and a knowingly smirk was placed on his chiseled face. I narrowed my eyes at him, even though it was hard to be truly angry at him.
"You are annoying me!" I exclaimed trying to maintain some dignity.
The smile on his face grew and a faint rumbling laughter erupted from his chest.
"Am I?" he asked teasingly as he leaned forward closer to me.
I felt my hearts rhythm escalate and drew in a sharp breath. He was so close to me and those lips of his made me wet my own.
'What is happening with me? Why am I feeling like a lovesick teenager? He took me, he killed my mother and then Cain…' I felt my heart drop and my chest tightening. 'I can´t just fall for him'
I shifted my face away from his and took a calming breath. Once again I looked out over the room. In the back of my eye I notices Enosos leaning back in his chair and then tense as Daras appeared at his side. For the moment I did not put any more thought as to why he reacted like that.
What already had my attention was a tall and slender beautiful blond woman that gave me curious looks in between her twirling. She was pale and reminded me of a white rose. Even her eyebrows where almost unnoticeable. Her hair was pinned up and tendrils fell behind her neck. What stood out was her violet eyes and the green fishscale on the back on her hands. The rest of her was covered in a beautiful gown, so I could not detect how much of her body that held the fishscale.
I felt my curiosity peek again, but was once again interrupted as something suddenly bumped into the chair I was sitting in.
Before I had the time to react Enosos had pulled me up and aside in a protective move. He held me tightly at his side with one of his arms surrounding me. His wings where out in a powerful stand.
It frightened me.
His attention was now solely focused on the creature now bowing low infront of us. A huge man bowed deeply at our feet.
"Forgive me my lord," the creatures voice was cracked up and filled with insecurity.
"How dare you?!" Enosos deep voice echoed in the hall. I realized now that the room had grown eerily quiet.
"You shall be punished!" he sounded ruthless, cold and filled with absolute power.
I pulled myself from his side and even though he could easily keep me at his side, he let me go.
"He did nothing wrong!" I defended the man as I stood infront of him.
"Alicia," Enosos turned his head towards the wall in frustration as he warned me.
"No," I answered him defiantly. "I wont stand here and see you punish him for an accident." I starred at him willing him to look at me.
"Thank you my lady," A hushed whispered came from the man behind my back.
He slowly turned his face back to look at me, his jaw tightly shut.
For a time that felt like minutes I felt our mind and powers measure against each other. I didn't win, but he lowered his head in a small smile.
"You truly have the blood of a princess, Alicia. That is for sure," he said and looked back at me with pride shining from his eyes. "But you will learn that there is an order of the gods that exceeds all of your command and believes." His voice was more serious now and his face tight.
He paused.
"The werewolf shall be spared in the honor of your celebration," he announced to the room.
He took my hand in his and kissed it before he possessively pulled me flat against his body. His wings circling us from all mesmerized eyes and I drew a steading breath.
…
Enosos
I did not like what was going to happen next, but I knew the necessity of it. She did not even understand how that vampire's venom was poisoning her. Weakening the truly powerful creature she was.
After the incident in the grand hall, the celebration had quickly diminished and I had pulled Alicia aside and deeper into the temple. We where walking through the twirling halls and the more rooms we passed the deeper and more secluded from the outside world we became.
She seemed anxious and had been glancing behind her more often the closer to our destination we got.
'Her mind is warning her, but she does not know of what yet' I thought to myself.
We finally stepped into the heart of the temple. The stone alter stood in the middle of the circular room and the room was brightly lit by the open circular hole in the roof. There was a coldness in the room that I knew affected her, but that was not why she was trembling at my side.
Alicia
He had pulled me determinately through the halls and even though I did not know him. His demeanor seemed off.
As the last pair of doors open a chill of cold air made my skin prickle and then my mind froze.
The room, it´s the same room from my dream.
FLASHBACK:
I felt cold and was shivering. The hard surface beneath me made my back hurt and a trickle of rain fell on my exposed skin. A white thin piece of fabric was all that covered my body and the rain made it see-through.
I groaned in frustration and from the agony in my back and neck. When I tried to turn onto my stomach, I realized couldn't. There were no real restraints like cuffs or anything, but I felt how I somehow was held down tightly.
When I opened my eyes it was dark and I was inside a large room, which confused me. How could it be raining? As my eyes got used to the darkness I could detect the hole in the ceiling. The room I was inside of looked like a holy temple I once visited as a child.
The coldness from the rain and the stone had crept into my very core and I couldn´t warm myself. I opened my mouth to scream but nothing could be heard. What kind of terrible nightmare is this?
Suddenly a very bright light came from the sky. It hurt my eyes and I closed them shut to not go blind from the intensity of it. The light also brought warmth, but the coldness still cringed inside of my body.
I felt afraid. What was this strange light? I could not escape it and even though the warmth was welcoming I also felt like it brought something forcing, powerful and quite frankly vicious with it.
I squirmed and once again made my best to get away.
END OF FLASHBACK
It had been here, in the dream, and now we were here. The difference now, was that the room also was lit in candlelights standing strategicly on the entire floor.
I started pulling away from him, but he held me tight.
"No, no, please no." I panicked trying to pull my hand out of his grasp.
He gave me a tight smile and pulled me forward. That was when I saw Daras standing by the alter.
It did not matter how much I pulled, he kept walking with me. He turned around and gave me a look as if I was acting childish.
"You are hurting yourself Alicia, stop!" He demanded.
"You are going to hurt me nevertheless, what does it matter?!" I spit back at him.
He pulled me against him again and looked right at me. His jaw tightening and I felt a sting of fear flare up inside my belly.
"I wish there was another way. "He tried calming me as I was fighting the arms restraining me. "Let me show you why, this need to be done."
I heard the sound of two double doors flying open and crashing with the walls.
"Aaaaa,"a loud and strong roar echoed through the room and I shifted around almost falling over myself in surprise.
Once the first chock disappeared I focused on the source of the scruciating sound and immediately tightened as I realized who the voice belonged to.
It was Cain. 'He´s alive!'
I tried to turn away from Enosos grasp to be able to see him. It felt as if spasms where all over and demanded my body to get close to him. But the god would not let me. He turned me around in his arms.
"Hush now Alicia," he said slowly. "This reaction is his venom in your blood."
My breath was loud and rapid and I did everything in an attempt to break free.
Finally he let go of me and I circle him quickly to find Cain kneeling on the ground in thick silver chains. One on each arm and one on each legs. There was another chain around his neck and another around his waist. His muscles were strained and I could tell he did everything to try to break free.
The silver was cutting into him, leaving blood dripping down on his clothes. His face looked tired and haunted. It was evident that he had been put through torture as of the whip marks that could be seen all over him.
I kneeled before him, grabbing his face into my small hands. He lashed out at me trying to bite my wrist but was pulled away by the two guards holding him.
I fell backwards in surprise. "Cain," my voice barely carried through. He looked wild and kept fighting to get closer to me.
"Alicia, come here," Cain begged me with a throaty voice.
I felt a tug inside me and started to get close to him again.
"That's enough Alicia." Enosos pulled me back and up to my feets again. I struggled but it did not do much.
"Please," I asked, not really knowing what I was begging for. My heart was in my throat and I felt tears slipping down my cheeks.
He put me behind him and walked over to Cain, as I took a step forward I fell down not being able to get up again. It was the same blank feeling Cain used to put me through.
"I will drag you through hell before I will give you the mercy to die." He bent down to Cains face.
"But tonight you will watch her become mine, and you will see how foolish you where to ever try to make her yours. "
Enosos pulled me up on his shoulder and I walked forward with long strides.
He put me down on the stone alter and I pleaded him with my eyes to let him out of this trance.
'Please Enosos, let me out of this.'
He looked at me as if confirming he heard my plea, but before letting me go I felt chains clasp around my arms and legs and then the weight of the power lifted from my cheast.
I pulled my head to the side not wanting him to see my tears. I could bearly bealive he had just done that. Not after he knew all that I had been through.
"Alicia," Enosos calm voice filled my ears.
I did not wanna answer.
"I am sorry my dear," he said and stroked his fingers over my face and a sense of déjà vu filled me once again.
"Are we ready to begin, master," Daras enquired.
Enosos took my chin and tilted it towards him, so that I was looking up into his eyes. My own tear filled.
"What you are feeling is what the venom is telling you to feel. What Cain wants you to feel," he exclaimed slowly.
"Once your blood is pure, I will heal you and you will never have to feel submissive again." He tried.
"Remember the strength within you Alicia, you will need it." He whispered close to my face and gave me a haste kiss on my cheek that somewhat comforted me.
"Let´s begin." Enosos announced.
