Slendy Chapter 26 Gifts

A lot of people say their sixteenth birthday is something special. To me, the best one so far was the seventeenth. I woke-up, surrounded in warmth, a serene static feeling radiating through my mind. Zee had his face burried in my hair, his slow breaths tickling my neck. The sensation of peace in the room was enough to make me feel so amazingly happy. It was crazy that I was this happy after all I had lived through in the past few months. I had nearly been killed, fell in love with an inhuman serial killer, found out he was actually my best friend, started dating him, dealt with a super-powered kid that was out to kill us, had sex with my best friend a few times and witnessed him eating a corpse. Eventful, pretty weird and honestly interresting.

I heard a slight groan and turned my head to the side to look into his sleep-filled forest-green eyes. "Happy birthday." He whispered it out in a tired sounding tone before shutting his eyes again and wrapping his arm around me more tightly. I giggled and began rubbing his back. He moaned softly and purred in response.

We only actually got up maybe an hour later. I slipped on a powder blue dress with a floral print. I went to brush my hair, only to find my hair brush snagged out of my hand by a sleek, black tentacle. Before I could even ask what he was doing, he started brushing my hair. I closed my eyes, feeling like I was a little kid again, back when my mom would brush it every morning before I went to school.

He placed the brush down on my table, looking pretty satisfied with his work. I smirked darkly and quickly snatched the brush, grabbing onto his shoulder and begining to work on his own messy mass of hair. "Hey!" He cried out, but if he actually disliked it, I know he could have just changed into his other form, where he would have been bald. He sat quietly as I brushed down his hair. It was silky and went past his shoulders.

We both looked up when there was a knock on the door. "Guys, breakfast is ready." "Ok mom." This was the first time Zee had spent the night at my house...that my parents knew of. They did not know what he was, and I would make sure they never found out what he was. Helen had been accepting, but I doubt my parents would accept me being with the supernatural teen.

We headed downstairs and were greeted to a wonderful table full of plates that were filled with pancakes, eggs, waffles and bacon. I smiled when my dad handed me a plate with a pancake that said 'Happy Birthday Clair' on it, in maple syrup. Meanwhile, Zee was drooling at the bacon buffet. I chuckled and got a plate out, emptying half of the bacon onto it and setting it in front of him. It looked like there was enough meat in that plate to end world hunger, but I knew he would probably be asking for seconds.

My dad sat at the table too, looking to Zee with a raised brow, watching him devour his plate with a voracious appetite. "Boy, how do you even do that? You're so skinny, where does it all go?" He swallowed his bite, grabbing a napkin to wash his face. "The toilet, mostly." I laughed at the statement, resting my head on his shoulder. He hummed and nuzzled my forehead, letting static trail through my mind. I longed for one of his cool but warm tentacles to curl around me, but that was not something we could do in front of my parents.

I was right. Zee had asked for more bacon. I got him to eat an orange too, to sort of balance out his diet a little. He did mentally scold me about not knowing anything about slenderfolk metabolizms though...but I had convinced him anyway.

We got to the point of opening presents. My parents had gotten me a few new shirts and a painting kit. I mostly sketch because I had never been given the chance to paint. I thanked them and hugged them, turning my attention back to Zee. He gave me a tiny box. I opened it to find an absolutely beautiful necklace. It was a nice gem on a chain that sparkled beautifully in the sunlight that streamed in through the windows.

"It's gorgeous! Where did you get this?" I looked to him in awe. He only stuffed his hands in his pockets, shrugging and smiling slightly. "I pick up a few interresting trinkets here and there." I blinked and looked back to the crystal, then up to him again. His gaze was still locked on mine, his expression unreadable. I simply smiled and slipped the necklace on. Whatever this gem's shady past was, it was still beautiful and it was still a gift from the man of my dreams.

We watched a movie and ate some cake, deciding to go to the park after. We strolled by in the early afternoon sun, enjoying each other's company. An other first, this was the first time we had really gone here during the day, when there was a bunch of people around. Zee had his eyes closed most of the walk, breathing in the fresh air. From the link of our minds, I could feel him taking pure pleasure in just feeling nature around him. I could also feel his slight discomfort and annoyance. He wanted to hold me closer to him. "I wish I could just wrap you up in my tendrills right now, and hold you as close to me as I can." I giggled. "Why not just settle for a hug, Slendy? Too mainstream?" We were both laughing now. It must have looked strange to the other people walking by. They couldn't hear our conversation.

He shrugged. "They...feel more. I can't really explain." I didn't ask any more questions about it. We eventually left the park and started walking towards his house. He cleared his throat, his cheeks turning a slightly pink tinge. "Uhm...Helen...is out of town to visit a friend for a few days." His eyes met mine again and he managed to wink to me. I blushed as well, starting to laugh. "You did promise me something for my birthday." He nodded, looking up to the clouds.

As we neared his house, I noticed his gaze wandering about to his door. He blinked and tilted his head to the side, looking confused. We got to the door only to find a colorfully wrapped box placed on the front porch. A little note was attatched to it.

"For the lovely lady with an incredible heart. Happy Birthday."

I looked up to him. I barely caught his whisper. "But...Helen left two days ago..." I looked back to the gift and peeled back the paper, only to smile. It was a sketch book with a box of high quality pencils. We looked to each other, unsure what to think, then we headed off inside.

He gave me what I had wished for...

And we finally got to try that on a bed.

AN: Sorry I was gone long. I have no excuse. I was just plain and simply being lazy and uninspired. Last week, I beat both Okamiden and Minecraft. Both are guaranteed to be on my list of top ten favorite games of all time. That's a really hard list to make though because there are so many great games out there and only very few that I'm willing to place above others... Anyway, somebody posted a review the other day telling me not to give up on this story, ever. That's honestly what motivated me to pick it up again, but I had to go to my best friend's house that night and I got distracted and I wasn't really able to update right away...but to you, you loyal human, I owe this chapter being posted to you. You made me see that people still care about this story.

I decided to finish it off here. This is the last actual chapter. I'll try my best to post the epilogue tomorrow.

I have to go poop now.
