Thank you so much for all your reviews on the last chapter. Maybe this chapter is a little angsty too but a little less than the last one. :)

To one of the guest reviewer: I'm sorry I made a mistake two chapters ago. I wrote Sam instead of Mason but now it's fixed. Thank you and thank you chelsee199 for telling me. :)

Chapter 25

Five days later.

Will was walking through Chicago deep in his thoughts. The last three days had been hell for him as he was missing Sonny more than ever. But he couldn't act like nothing happened. He couldn't shake the memory of hearing Sonny saying to his ex-husband that he maybe still loved him. It hurt too much. He plunged his hand in his pocket to take his phone out but instead he grabbed a piece of paper. "Barney & Barney, wedding planners." He read. He looked at the address written on the card and noticed he was in this exact street. He stepped forward and looked at the buildings, searching for the number written on the paper. He found it at the end of the street and he approached the window. Inside he could see a happy couple talking to an old guy. The couple was holding hands and the looked really happy. Will couldn't help imagining Sonny and himself sitting at this desk, showing their happiness to an unknown guy. Without thinking, he entered the building and was immediately welcomed by another old man.

"Hello mister. Can I help you?" He asked, smiling widely.

"Hum… I don't know... I don't even know what I'm doing here to tell you the truth."

"Really? I've never heard that before." He answered before laughing slightly. "Usually when someone enters here, it's to organize the best day of his life. Do you want to organize the best day of your life?"

"I—I…"

"Wow we can feel the excitement coming from you." He said sarcastically. Will looked down not wanting to cross the man's eyes or he was sure he would break down. "Are you okay?"

"Yes I'm okay. I'm sorry I'm going to go…" Will answered and walked toward the door.

"Not so fast." The man stopped him. "I don't know you but I think you came here for a reason. You know it can be good talking to someone who doesn't know you…"

"Thank you for the offer but I'll be fine. I just am in a delicate situation. Thank you though."

"No problem." The man smiled. "You can come here anytime you want. We like to listen to our clients' stories even if they enter without a motive." Will walked to the door and opened it. He moved just a few steps before stopping. "What if he can give me advises? I mean he doesn't know me or my family so how can he judge?" He turned around just in time to see the couple who was in the office earlier. The girl was smiling a huge smile and the guy seemed dreamy. He went back to the building and was welcome by the same guy.

"I guess you still didn't come back for a wedding planning." He asked.

"Can I still take you on your offer of talking?"

"I formulated it just minutes ago and it hasn't changed since then. We will be better on the couch over there. Do you want something to drink? Coffee? Beer?"

"A glass of water would be perfect. Thanks." He followed the man to the couch and sat down while the other man presented him the full glass. He drank it completely and put it down on the table.

"Wow you really were thirsty." He laughed. "So what is going on with you?" Noticing that Will wasn't ready to answer yet, the man decided to introduce himself. "Sorry where are my manners. I'm Carl Barney and over there it's Mike Barney."

"Are you brothers?" Will asked.

"No we are not. We really don't look like each other don't you think?" He laughed again. "Actually, Mike is my husband."

"Oh sorry…"

"Don't be. Unless you are against gays…"

"No… No, no, no! Not at all! I'm actually gay too so…"

"I guessed that."

"You did? How?"

"I have a really great gaydar." He joked. "Jokes apart, what's your name? You seem familiar but I can't remember…"

"I don't think we ever met. I'm William Horton."

"William Horton? As in Sami Brady's son?" Mike intervened from the back of the office. He stood up and walked to them.

"You know her?"

"Of course we do." Carl answered. "We organized her wedding to EJ DiMera almost 20 years ago. Wow it's a small world. I remember your mother was so sad that you disappeared from one day to the next. What happened to you?"

"I had some things to figure out."

"Did you? Did you figure it out?"

"Are you like this with every client?" Will asked nervously laughing.

"Sorry sometimes Carl is a little too nosy."

"It's okay."

"So tell us why you're here in a wedding planning office, being so hesitant?"

"It's complicated. In fact my fiancé, Sonny is the love of my life. I love him like I've never loved anybody and we were 20 years ago. But I made a stupid mistake when I didn't tell him about getting my ex-girlfriend pregnant and I left town and him. And I came back just 2 months ago for my daughter. And of course he found someone else. I wasn't expecting him to stay single because he's such a catch. He's the perfect guy." He said alternating between looking at Mike and at Carl who seemed to be listening very attentively to his story. "His husband's name was Mason and as soon as I saw him, I knew he wasn't good enough for Sonny. But I didn't have any right to tell this to Sonny. But then with Sonny, we got closer like we were before and we got back together after he discovered his husband was a dirtbag. It went really fast between us but I didn't have a problem with that. He proposed to me 5 days ago and I said yes because… Well I couldn't deal with being without him anymore." He stopped his story and took a sip from the glass Mike had filled again.

"What happened after?" Mike asked.

"Mason was arrested before Sonny and I got back together and we were told that his trial was this week. So he wanted… I'm sorry I don't even know why I'm here speaking to you. I don't even know you…" He said getting up.

"William, it's good to talk to someone you don't know. You can freely get everything out and free your mind of frustration. And compared to shrinks, we are totally free." The couple laughed. "Oh and don't worry we won't tell anything to your mother." Mike said. "But let me tell you as I hear you now, I can guess you two are made for each other. I can see you love him very much so, what happened between your engagement and today?"

"He told me he wanted to see Mason to clarify everything. And that's exactly what he did." Will said and went to the window. When he turned around, he noticed that Mike and Carl were waiting for him to talk and they were not trying to rush him. "I overheard him telling Mason that he still had feelings for him."

"Did he say these exact words?"

"Well he said that he maybe still loved him."

"Oh that's… Wow… So what did you do?" Carl asked.

"I told Sonny that I needed a break but that I still loved him like crazy. And I gave him his ring back."

"So you don't want to marry him anymore?"

"No… I mean Yes… I mean I don't know. I waited for so long for the moment I would marry him. But can I live with the fact that he's still in love with his ex-husband?"

"Stop it right there son. He was with you 20 years ago right?" Will nodded. "Okay you left and you come back after all this time away. And what happened? You immediately got back together." Clark clearly saw that Will didn't understand his point. "William, this man left his husband when you came back. That only means he loves you more than he loved him."

"You can't expect him to erase every feeling he had for the guy. Because I'm telling you this is impossible. And believe me I talk by experience."

"You do?"

"Yes. We had the exact same thing happening to us. Mike and I have known each other since forever. We grew up as neighbors, he was my best friend. But one day, his parents decided to move out. I was completely devastated by this news. I was 10 years old at that time and I remember everything like it was yesterday. At the time I didn't know what the nature of my feeling was because I was too young but truthfully I already loved this man. We lost each other. We haven't talked during 30 years." Clark stopped and looked at Mike and took his hand in his. Mike decided to continue the story.

"When we met again, I was married to a man too. I loved him very much but when I saw Clark enter the room in this restaurant. You remember?" He said to Clark who nodded and leaned for a kiss. "When I saw him, I knew it. I knew we were going to be together after all these years even if I tried to deny it. And that's what happened. I divorced my husband and I married Clark and we have been happy for 25 years now. We even decided to open this office to help the people to have their perfect day just like we had ours."

"Wow that's a beautiful story. And I really hope Sonny and I will have the same end as you two."

"Well you can if you fight for it. A relationship is made of ups and downs; you just have to makes the ups happier than the downs sadder. And from what I heard from you, you two will just be fine."

Two hours later, Will was sitting on his bed in his hotel room. He was looking at all the papers Mike and Carl gave him about how a wedding or a honeymoon should be organized. He thought about how the two men beat the time and looked so happy together. "Could it be the same for us?" He thought. "Can I really get past what happened with them?" He threw the paper away on the bed and ran his hands through his hair. "God, what should I do now? It's a mess…"

Sonny wasn't better than Will. He spent his last five days doing the same routine, like a ghost. He would wake up in the morning and pat next to him to find an empty bed. Next he would go to the bathroom, wash himself and quickly brush his hair without energy. Then he would take the bottle of after shave Will forgot to take back and he would smell it then use it on himself. Like that he would at least have a little bit of Will with him during the day. Then he would prepare something to eat for his breakfast and at the last minute, he would decide that he was not hungry. At the club, Chad was really beginning to worry. He had never seen Sonny in such a bad state of mind. Sonny never showed up in the main room as he preferred doing some paperwork in his office. But he couldn't do anything.

When the 8pm alarm went off, he would leave the club and go back directly to his apartment and once again he would call Will as soon as he entered the living room. But the place would still be empty. So he would serve himself a beer and sit on the couch. Then he would put the TV on and not watch it. Then when he's too tired, he would just go back to his bed and lay down and look at the ceiling thinking about Will's arms around him and his hot breathe on his neck. "God I miss you Will…"

The next morning, Sonny woke up earlier than usual. He looked at the clock and saw that it was 5.30am. He was ready to go back to sleep when he heard a knock on the door.

"Who could be knocking so early in the morning?" He asked himself angrily. He put a top on and walked to the door. Without looking through the peephole, he opened the door and was ready to yell at his visitor. But instead he froze. "Will what are you doing here? I thought you were coming back in two days?"

Will walked past him and entered the apartment and Sonny discreetly tried to pinch himself to be sure that the situation was real and that Will was really in his apartment. A little smile appeared on his face as he thought that maybe Will was back early to get back together. But his smile faded away as quickly it appeared hearing Will's next words.

"Sonny, we need to talk. I can't do this anymore…"
