Summary: When the Cahills were captured by the Vespers three chapters previous, this is what happened to Sinead and Hamilton. I will probably mention later. Because of a prompt by peetagrl3.
Hamilton's POV
We were marched down the hallway. My arms were secured behind my back with some handcuffs, as were Sinead's. The guards stopped at a cell and shoved Sinead in. They pushed me into the next one.
I could hear the sounds of their feet marching off. I looked around and quickly broke my handcuffs.
"Sinead?" I asked. "Sinead, are you okay?"
"Um, well I can't feel my arms, but other that that fine."
"I'll come help you wait a second."
I went over to the door of my cell. The lock was simple. All I had to do was pull really hard and it snapped off. Once in the hall, I went over to Sinead's cell. I broke the lock from the outside and entered the cell.
"Hey." She said.
Her arms had been handcuffed above her head at an awkward angle. She could barely move without the metal cutting her hands.
"Oh, here let me help." I hurried over and broke off her handcuffs, being a lot more careful not to chafe she wrists. When I was done I sat next to her in the cell.
"So, ah...How ya doing?" I asked awkwardly.
She shot me a grin. "I've been better."
"That was something with Amy and Ian, huh?"
"Yeah, how do you think Ian will take it? Her obeying his mother and all?" She turned towards me.
"Well I know how I'd react if it was you."
She scooted closer to me. "And how is that?"
I put my arm around her. "I wouldn't stop until I found a cure."
She had her head rested on my shoulder, but when I said that she looked up, surprised. How did she think I'd react?
"You wouldn't want me to be strong, like a Tomas?" She asked.
"No, I want you to be you. That's the person I like."
Sinead turned away. "What's to like about me? I'm practically useless."
What? How could she say that? There were so many things that were incredible about her. She was so smart, she could figure out anything. Sinead always knew what to say, and always seemed surprised when people agreed with her. And she always twitched her nose when she was trying not to laugh. All these things were factors that made me want to...To...
I leaned over and kissed her on the lips. For a second she seemed surprised, then she kissed me back. I pulled away.
"Don't you ever say you're useless, because that's so far from the truth it's laughable."
She snuggled up next to me. "We should probably go now."
I hugged her close. "Yeah, we should."
"We aren't leaving are we?"
"Nope." I agreed.
"Do you wanna..." She turned towards me.
I kissed her. She smiled. "Yeah, let's do that."
