Yeah...I know I promised this a week ago but then work/school/life got in the way and pretty much drained any energy I had for writing.
Anyhow, the reviews for last chapter were absolutely darling and each of you deserve a cookie! Speaking of which, to the review that mention how I had Jack protecting Elsa from Peter pan, that will definitely come up in the third season. I already have that whole scenario planned out and honestly can't wait to bring it into play ;) And to BreathingintheSun: your request isn't selfish at all and, if I can, I'll attempt to describe Elsa's ice dresses from now on.

I wish you would tell me why!"

"Erin? Hanna?"
Blinking sleepily, I opened my eyes and smiled at the sight of Anna's sleeping face. Ignoring the slight trickle of drool on her chin, I turned in the bed towards the door.
"Come in, Heath." I called softly, hoping it didn't wake Anna when the man gently opened the door and stepped in. "What is it?"
"David called." He offered and I sat up straighter, looking down when Anna began to stir next to me. "He said he needs your help with something." Heath frowned. "He also said to bring Jack."
I groaned into my hand, brushing a hand through my hair. "Great."
"Elsa?" Anna asked hoarsely and I turned my attention to her, dimly aware of Heath coming to the bed and sitting on her side. "Heath?" She turned to see the blonde man and her sleepy smile widened.
"Hey Hanna." Heath leaned forward, pressing a kiss against her cheek.
I watched with a small smile, ignoring the small ache in my chest that was present whenever I saw them like this. Pushing aside that feeling, I instead focused my attention on Heath's words.
"David specifically requested Jack?" I clarified, frowning once again when Heath nodded. "Damn."
"What is it?" Anna settled against him, looking between us in confusion, reminding me that I'd yet to inform her of Jack's departure. "Where's Jack, Elsa?"
"He went to the Enchanted Forest."
Sighing happily, I continued ot skate around the pond under Rumple and Jack's watchful gazes. Ever since that...shadow, had appeared at my window, Rumple had been leery to let me out of his sight even when I was with Jack.
"Hey, Snowflake!" Jack called from his spot next to Rumple. "Show Rump that move I taught you!"
I brought my hands up to cover my giggles when Rumple reached out and smacked Jack smartly on the back of the head. I watched as Jack rubbed his head before I nodded at their expectant looks.
Circling the pond again to pick up speed, I pushed down with my left foot and launched myself into the air. Tucking my arms in, I spun around once before I landed, holding my left leg in the air as I lightly flowed backwards.
"Jack, how was that?" I asked breathlessly, turning around and coming to a dead stop in surprise. The dark-haired boy from the woods was standing where Rumple and Jack once were. "I-it's you..." I forced out, wary and almost terrified of him. "Jack and Rumple told me not to talk to you."
A smirk twisted up the corner of his lips before he took a step onto the ice. "Such a good little princess, aren't you?" He cooed softly, coming to rest before me and dropping to a crouch. "Even with this...misfortune." He gestured to my hands and I flinched back.
"It's not a misfortune." I snapped back hesitantly. "Rumple and Jack said it was a gift!"
"Tell me, Elsa." I shivered when he raised a hand and cupped my cheek. "Would a gift have hurt your sister?"
Eyes wide, I brought my hands up jerkily as ice crackled and shot out from them. With a last smirk, he was gone, and Jack was in front of me, gripping my shoulders tightly.
"Elsa!"
"He's gone?" David repeated, looking mildly disgruntled while Henry hovered at Anna's side. I frowned at his demeanor, very aware of Henry's attachment to Jack.
"Yes." I moved my eyes from Henry, focusing them on David. "I asked him to go. To find Emma and Mary Margaret."
That made him soften and he sighed, raising a hand to rub over his face. "I can't say I'm ecstatic, but I can't argue with your choice either." With that admittance, he clapped a hand on Henry's shoulder.
"So, any ideas?" Heath, ever the blunt one, asked.
"Have you asked Gold perchance?" I snapped flatly, making David wince before he shook his head.
"No," he frowned. "And I'd rather not, Erin."
It was my turn to frown. "Why not?"
"It's Gold." David scoffed out, making my frown deepen. I sighed, my retort cut off when my phone began to ring. Pulling it out of my pocket, I rolled my eyes.
"Speak of the Devil." Muttering under my breath, I opened the device. "Yeah?" Gold's shot at my etiquette made me roll my eyes. "You're one to talk." I listened quietly, ignoring the stares of my curious audience. "Really?" Excitement filled me and I began to nod rapidly. "Yes, I can be there soon."
Quickly saying goodbye, I closed my phone with a snap and raised my head, smiling widely.
"What was that?" Anna finally asked, watching me like I was a crazed woman. "And why are you smiling so widely?"
"Gold's agreed to give me some lessons again." My utterance was, unsurprisingly, met with very mixed emotions.
"What?!" Anna and David asked in unison while Heath now stared at me like I was a crazed person.
"Really?" Henry asked with wide eyes. "Oh! Can I watch?" Nearly vibrating, I let out a breathless laugh and nodded in acquiescence. He jumped in excitement before he hug me roughly about the waist. "I get to see magic!"
"Elsa, how is that supposed to help you?" Anna asked, her cheeks beginning to flush. I winced at her reaction before I shook my head.
"He can help, Anna." I pinned her with a stare, making her close her mouth with a snap. "He did help last time." I looked down, my joy fading as I wrung my hands together. "Honestly, it was more my fault that I lost control."
"But, Elsa-"
My phone rang again and I looked away from Anna's pleading expression to look at it. A simple message from Gold appeared on the screen, telling me to meet him in ten minutes. I looked up, shooting my sister an apologetic look.
"I'm sorry, Anna." I smiled faintly to try and lessen how upset she looked. "But I need this." I raised a brow. "Unless, you want me to wear gloves again?"
"No!" She all but shrieked, making the four of us cover our ears to try and lessen the chance of ear damage.
"Really, Hanna?" Heath asked, lightly tapping onto his ear before he wrapped an arm around his upset fiance. "Hey, you can help me look for Sven while Erin's busy." He cajoled, though I was stuck on the first part of his sentence.
"You still haven't found him?" I asked in surprise, watching as Heath's eyes lowered and he nodded.
"Yeah, I'm not sure what Regina did to him, honestly."
I frowned, blinking when inspiration struck me and I looked up with a smile.
"I'll ask Gold." I promised, making Heath nod before he turned to leave, gently drawing Anna with him. "Go on, Anna." I forced my smile to widen. "I won't be long and we can go to Granny's."
She nodded at my promise, still looking rather upset, though she didn't argue when Heath led her away.
With a sigh, I turned to David and Henry. "So?" I raised a brow. "Can I take him," Jerking my chin towards and excited Henry. "With me?"
David looked between Henry and I, clearly fighting a losing battle when he saw his grandson's pleading expression. He sighed before he nodded, grunting when Henry lunged at him.
"Thanks Gramps!" Henry cheered before bouncing to my side and tugging on my arm. "Come on, come on, come on!"
Laughing, I allowed Henry to pull me out of the loft and down the stairs. When we reached the street, I pulled away from his touch, still unsure about my abilities. We reached Gold's shop fairly quickly, just in time to see him exiting the shop and locking the door.
"Erin, there you are, dear." He glanced to my left, a faint smirk settling on his lips. "And I see young Henry has tagged along."
I shrugged ruefully when he sent me a short look. "He wanted to come watch." I defended weakly, looking down at Henry while he looked between Gold and me.
"Is it okay if I come with you two, Mr. Gold?" Henry asked, so politely that I was unable to stop a smile from spreading across my face. A quick glance at Gold told me he was rather amused at Henry's plea.
"Well," Gold paused, clearly smirking now when he saw Henry's face drop. "Since you asked so nicely, why not?" He shrugged before he began to amble down the street, leaving a gaping Henry at my side.
I laughed softly before I caught up to Gold and hooked arms with him. I turned behind me, smiling at Henry as excitement spread across his face again. I offered my free hand and he ran to my side, gripping my hand in his.
"This is gonna be awesome!"
"Elsa?" I pulled my knees closer to my chest, keeping my eyes tightly closed. "Snowflake, come on, let me in." Jack pleaded, his voice so earnest and worried that it made tears burn behind my eyes.
After the incident at the lake, Rumple had put his foot down and scooped me up in his arms before he returned us to his castle. He'd barred Jack from seeing me for the near future, though that had been hours ago.
When Jack knocked again, I figured I'd either been in my room longer than I'd thought, or Rumple had left the castle.
"Elsa...what did you see?" He paused, speaking as if the words pained him. "...Or who?"
I whimpered softly, fear filling me at the sight of the green-eyed boy from the forest. If what Jack had told me was true, then the boy controlled that...thing, that had tried to take me from the window months ago.
A loud groan caught my attention and I jerked in shock when I saw the small circle of icicles surrounding me on the floor. Fuelled by my fear, they began to grow in a jagged formation around me, though didn't even come close to touching me.
As the ice began to form a kind of cage around me, the door suddenly slammed open to reveal a breathless Jack. He looked around the room wildly before he focused on me and the ice that was slowly thickening.
"Oh, snowflake." He whispered, floating closer before he fell to his knees. "Come here, Elsa." He offered his hand, making me tighten my grip on my knees before I turned away from him. The ice hardened even further and I heard Jack curse softly, making me turn to see him drawing his hand away.
I saw a splash of red on the ice and let out a cry o shock when I realized what had occurred. With a soft grunt, the ice suddenly lowered and I jumped away from it, hugging Jack around the waist tightly.
"I'm sorry!" I cried into his chest as he cradled me against it, shushing softly into my hair. "I-I saw the boy...with the green eyes!"
Jack stiffened before he gently tilted my chin up. "Elsa, what did he do?"
I shook my head, pressed my face into his chest again and clung to him tightly as the ice began to spread throughout the room.
"Focus, Erin." Gold commanded sharply before he pointed at the ground with his cane. "Now, try again."
I inhaled deeply before I raised my foot and slammed my heel on the ground. The ice that crackled from my touch was jagged and spiked out. I let out an angry grunt before I pulled my boot away.
"It's not working!" I snapped in annoyance, blinking when Henry spoke for the first time.
"It looks okay to me." He pipped up, looking between us in shock from his perch in the small tree. "What's wrong with that?
"The way the ice looks when she creates it is the key, Henry." Gold spoke softly, completely ignoring my frustration. "See?" He pointed at the patch of it. "It's jagged, not smooth."
"Well, how can she fix it?" Henry asked curiously before a smile lit up his face. "Oh! Are you going to sing and do that thing with your hair again?"
I let out a groan, slapping my hand against my face while Gold chuckled merrily. Without looking, I flung my hand back and smirked when the chatter of ice met my ears. I turned around, blinking in surprise when I saw the perfectly curled pattern of ice decorating the tree next to Gold.
He smirked smugly. "Well, perhaps we're not that desperate yet."
Hours later, I dropped Henry off at the loft, standing in the doorway to the building to make sure he got inside.
"See ya, Henry!" I called as he raced up the stairs. I waited until the door slammed before I stepped out of the building and turned to head down the street.
"Hey, Elsa." Anna called out when I entered out own loft, sending me a wide smile as she danced around the kitchen island.
"What's got you so happy?" I asked warily, blinking when she thrust her hand right into my face. I blinked, my eyes focusing on the ring located on her ring finger. I looked up at her with wide eyes, a smile breaking onto my face when she began to nod happily.
"He found the ring!" She squealed loudly and took my arms in hers before we began to spin around the kitchen like idiots.
Heath peeked in once, only to nearly be hit in the face with a handful of flour with Anna screeching that we were having 'sisterly bonding time'. Which, somehow, turned into baking cookies.
As I reached into the cupboard, I paused before turning back to Anna, who was mixing the batter and humming. "Anna?" I asked, making her humming falter before she turned her content gaze towards me.
"Yes, Elsa?" She asked cheerily, her eyes widening when I pulled out the five bags of chocolate chips in various flavors.
"Any reason we have every type of chocolate imaginable in our cupboard?" I arched a brow, watching as she winced sheepishly.
"Well..." she pouted adorably. "I just wanted to make sure that we had enough!"
Knowing how much of a sweet tooth she had, I chose not to say anything more about her overzealous chocolate buying. Grabbing every bag I could see, I lugged them over to the counter and set them down before I scanned the varieties briefly.
"What kind do you want?" Anna asked as she continued to stir the batter, making me wince slightly at the amount of flour decorating the surrounding area. I shook my head slightly before I smiled at her.
"You pick."
She frowned, a crease marring her brow as she thought it over. "Well, what about this?" She reached over for a bag and my stomach dropped at the label.
"Uh...Anna?" I asked cautiously, making her pause halfway through opening the bag. "You do remember that I can't have a lot of salt, right?"
I jumped when she slapped her messy hand against her forehead, smearing dough and flour on her skin while she was at it. She turned wide, almost teary eyes to me and I smiled at her expression.
"I forgot!" She almost wailed dramatically, reaching out and yanking me into her embrace.
"Anna, it's fine." I laughed, patting her back softly before I gently pushed her away from me and nudged her toward the bowl. "Now, we have cookies to make or," I glanced at the clock and groaned at the time. "We'll never get up in the morning."
She hopped away from me, dipping the wooden spoon back into the bowl as I sifted through the piles of chocolate, smiling when I found one.
"How about milk?" I asked, watching as she turned to me with wide eyes, though she continued to mix the dough.
"But...I thought you liked dark?" She blinked at me in confusion and I smiled, offering her the bag.
"Yeah, but we're making these for you, remember?" I teased, watching as she brightened at my words before she reached past me and pulled up a bag of dark chocolate chips.
A cheeky smile curled up her cheek and she leaned towards me before whispering conspiratorially. "How about both?"
I woke to my phone ringing and reached out to grab it from the bedside table. With a groan, I pushed myself up and raised the phone to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Erin?" I blinked, much more awake.
"David? What is it?"
"I need your help."
After telling me to head to the stables he hung up. I stumbled out of bed, reaching out to shake Anna awake when I passed her.
"Wha!" She shot up with a jerk, her eyes widening before they began to flutter closed.
"Anna!" I shouted from the closest, wincing when a loud thud sounded. I peeked around the door to see Anna on the ground, looking around dazedly.
"How did I get on the floor?" She asked sleepily, only to shriek in shock when I tossed an outfit at her. Sputtering, she lowered the garments and stared at me in shock. "What the hell, Elsa?"
"David wants us to go to the stables." I offered simply as I pinned my hair back into its bun. "He has a surprise for Henry."
"Well," she struggled into the shirt, her voice muffled by the fabric. "What is it?"
"I'm assuming he got Henry a horse."
After leaving Heath a note, we made it to my rarely used car. I rolled my eyes at the sight of Anna nearly bouncing in excitement like a little kid, though smiled at the fact that her sadness had been replaced by joy.
I put the car in park and we rushed into the stables, not surprised to find them empty except for the soft snickering of horses. As we walked past the stalls, Anna brushed past me and stopped at a stall further up the barn.
"Elsa, come look!"
Head titled, I quickened my pace to catch up with her and peered into the the stall to see the brown horse. As I looked it over, my eyes widened and I let out a gasp.
"Is that...?"
Anna nodded, squealing loud enough to startle the surrounding horses. "YES! It's Sven!" She entered the stall, quickly yet calmly approaching the horse. "Sven?" She asked in a trembling voice and my jaw dropped when the horse proceeded to nod.
"Oh my..." I trailed off before I reached into my jacket and yanked out my phone. I tapped my boot nervously as the phone rang, silently begging Heath to pick up. When he did, I barely let him get out a hello before I spoke, "We found Sven."
I waited, frowning at the silence from the other end as I watched Anna pet and coo over Sven.
"A-are you sure?" Heath finally stuttered out in a small, hopeful voice.
"The horse nodded." I replied flatly, only to jerk the phone from my ear when a loud 'Whoop!' sounded.
"I'll be there!"
I blinked when the dial tone sounded before I turned back to Anna, wide-eyed. She sputtered, holding her hands over her smiling mouth before she simply turned and pressed her face against Sven's hide. I rolled my eyes when her shoulders began to shake in silent laughter, turning at the sound of tires.
"Henry and David are here." I called behind my shoulder, already heading towards the doors as David's voice floated towards me.
"Come on. What's with the yawn?" He asked teasingly. "This isn't school. It should be fun."
Henry's response made my heart sink a little in my chest. "I couldn't sleep."
"Hey. I know. I miss 'em, too." David said, his voice softer than before. "Now, just think how happy Emma and Snow will be when they come home to find that you've become a proper knight." He cajoled as they entered the barn and walked down the row of stalls.
"Hey, Henry." I called out, smiling when Henry ran towards me, flinging his arms around my waist.
"Erin!" He peeked around me, blinding smile in place. "Hanna!" He broke away from me and raced to meet her.
I turned to look at David when he reached my side, sending him a faint smile before I turned and we walked towards Anna.
"Say hello to your steed." David announced, waving an arm at a smaller, light-colored horse. I smirked at the sight of its mane and sent David a look, smirking wider when he looked away bashfully.
"Is he mine?" Henry asked, his eyes nearly as wide as saucers.
David nodded with a smile. "This one's yours."
"Really?" After receiving another nod from his grandpa, Henry turned back to the horse. "So… How do I get on him?"
I smiled at his enthusiasm. "Oh, you're not riding today." I told him, watching when his shoulders slumped ever so slightly.
"I'm not?" He blinked at us in confusion.
"No." David was still smiling patiently. "There's much to learn before you hop in the saddle."
"Like what?"
Anna spoke then, smiling at our cousin. "Well, every morning, you'll have to muck out his stall. Then, you'll brush him and feed him. After school, you'll do it again. Every day, twice a day."
"That's not riding, that's babysitting." Henry pouted, crossing his arms and staring up at us.
David held up a finger. "Ah. Horsesitting." He corrected with a wide grin. "It builds an essential bond. The trust between knight and steed."
"Okay." Henry relented, clearly still unwilling to give up. "But, when will I ride him?"
"When the horse tells you. I'm going to go check in on the dwarves-see how the mining's coming." David patted Henry on the shoulder while I turned to Anna.
"Why dont' you stay here with Henry?" I asked softly, keeping a smile on my face when I saw her expression. "Heath will be here soon, and you always got along with horses better than me." I reminded her, making her crack a smile before she nodded.
"Okay," she turned to Henry with a bright smile after I handed her the keys to my car. "Come on, I'll show you the ropes."
"I'll pick you up later." David assured Henry before he turned to leave, leaving me to trail after him.
"So… Anything you want to tell me?" I heard Henry asked warily, making me shake my head fondly before I looked up at David.
"So, how's it been going?" He asked quietly as we got into the car.
I shrugged, looking down at my hands. In all the commotion of the last few days, my lack of control had been pushed to the back of my mind. "It's getting better."
"Good." He smiled teasingly. "I like winter and everything, but we don't need an eternal one around here."
I nodded, forcing a smile onto my suddenly stiff features. "Yeah."
I adjusted the sash around my upper body, exhaling shakily as I lifted the crown out of the velvet it rested on. I looked away from the crown to gaze up at the portrait of mother and father.
This was the first time I'd attend the memorial for them and my hands were shaking so badly that I could barely put on my crown.
"Elsa?" I jumped at the knock, nearly dropping the crown. I turned to the door to see Anna peeking around the mahogany door. "Are you ready? The carriages will be leaving soon."
She stepped into the room, her deep, almost black, green skirt swishing with the movement. I'd foregone an ice dress for this occasion, dressing in deep, varying shades of blue and black instead. As Anna came closer, she gasped in shock at the dress I wore.
"Oh, Elsa..." she raised a shaking hand to her mouth. "You look just like mom..."
I smiled sadly, well aware that the gown I'd had made looked almost identical to our mother's. The train it had, as well as the neckline, were different but it remained the same.
"I know." I whispered back, my smile brightening some. "You look beautiful." I whispered softly, eyeing the small, sparkling tiara she wore nestled in the braid that wound around her head.
"So do you." She whispered back, coming to my side and clasping hands with me as we stared up at our parent's. "They'd be so proud of you."
"Of both of us."
"Regina!" I called out as David and I approached her. She looked up, her face pale and sickly. I frowned, still confused as to what had happened. After receiving a call about an accident involving Whale and Regina, David had hightailed it from the mines, leaving me to follow, and raced to the hospital.
"What's going on?" David asked when we got closer. "I just got a call that Dr. Whale was attacked."
Regina shook her head, expression pained. "You'll have to ask his doctors."
"No. I am asking you."
She frowned. "I came here to speak with him and discovered he was hurt." She blanched at his look of disbelief. "It's the truth!"
"What else?" He demanded. "What did you come here to speak with him about?"
"David!" I hissed out softly, placing a hand on his arm before I turned to look at Regina. "Regina, what is it?" I asked as the sick look on her face worsened.
"Someone from my past. I believe he's come back." She whispered, her voice pained. "Daniel-his name is Daniel."
I inhaled sharply. "The man you were supposed to marry." I shared a looked with David before returning my attention to Regina. "Snow told us what happened and… How it was her fault that he died."
Regina didn't comment on Snow's involvement, instead choosing to simply say, "Yes, he did."
"Well, then how could he be back?"
"Whale." She hissed out flatly. "He believed he could bring him back from the grave and…I don't know how…But he has."
David frowned. "You don't know how? Guess."
"He practices something more powerful than magic. Or, so I was told." She shrugged, looking as confused as I felt. "All he needed was a heart, and he took one of mine."
That made me bristle in disgust. "You have hearts here?"
She ignored my disgust. "In my vault. From our land."
"Whose heart did he take?" David asked quickly.
"I have no idea. I took so many, it was impossible to keep track." She looked around, tense and jumpy. "I need to go. I have to help him."
"No." David blocked her from leaving. "Where is he? Look what he did-" He gestured to Whale, who was still quite armless in the room. "-he's dangerous."
"Not to me." She promised, not looking as sure as she sounded. "He won't hurt anyone else, David, I promise."
"We can't take that chance, Regina." I said, watching as her face contorted in agony before she sighed quietly.
"You have two choices Regina – tell me where he is, or jail." David stared at her, crossing his arms as we waited for her answer.
Regina looked down before speaking. "I think it's like when you awoke from your coma. He's following his final thoughts to where he last met me – the stables."
I went stiff, panic flooding through me and settling in my stomach. I turned horrified eyes to Regina as my stomach twisted and churned, nausea welling inside me.
"No. Henry." David breathed out and I watched as Regina's eyes went wide in horror. "Henry and Anna are at the stables."
"Anna!" My heart palpitated in my chest when I saw her lying on the ground in front of the open stable door. I fell to my knees at her side, looking up in time to see a man, his clothes marking him from the Enchanted forest, holding Henry by the neck off the ground.
"Daniel! Let him go!" Regina cried out and I watched in shock as the man proceeded to do as she said. David lunged forward, gripping hold of Henry and pulling him out of the stall.
"Are you okay?" David asked and I blinked at the sound of a groan. I looked behind the stall door to see Heath sprawled in the dirt, blood leaking from a cut on his temple. "Go." David stated to his terrified grandson. "Go!"
I watched as Henry turned around and sprinted from the barn before I turned my attention back to Regina. She was staring at David, her back stiff with shock.
"It's true." She breathed out. "You're really here."
I gasped in horror when he lunged towards her, only for David to push her out of the way and slammed the stall door shut. As he locked it, Daniel began to furiously beat on the door and I winced with every hit.
I turned my attention back to Anna, sighing with relief when she began to stir, finally blinking dazed eyes up at me.
"Elsa?" I nodded before I quickly tugged her to her feet, holding onto her as she swayed unsteadily. I caught sight of Henry in the doorway and began to lead Anna to him.
"Henry," he reached out and helped me support Anna to my car where we settled her into the front seat.
"What do you think you're doing?!" I heard Regina shriek and spun around to see David pointing his gun at the stall holding Daniel. I caught sight of Heath still on the ground and, making up my mind, I sped back into the barn.
"Erin-"
"Henry," I called back without stopping. "Stay there!"
"If you won't put him down, I will!" David snapped loudly, ignoring Regina's attempts to bodily push him away from the stall.
"David, please! Just let me talk to him." She begged desperately as I reached them. I slipped past David and made it to Heath's side, falling to my knees.
"Heath," I whispered loudly and looked up when I heard a rather loud neigh. Sven was staring at me from his stall and, without a thought, I extended my arm. A small blast of ice knocked the lock off the hinges and Sven sped out from the stall.
With a grunt, I attempted to heave Heath onto Sven's back with little success. I turned to see Regina trying to physically restrain David with little success. Aware they'd be no help at the present time, I simply pulled Heath's head onto my lap before I pressed a hand against his head.
"It's too big of a risk. There's no telling what he'll do." David said, clearly trying to reason with Regina, who was now borderline hysterical.
She shook her head rapidly. "You have to at least give me a chance!"
"Out of the way, Regina!" David snapped, his temper rising before he pushed her aside. "Now!"
I watched, my eyes wide with shock as Regina once again began to try and restrain David, gripping him with white-knuckled hands.
"No! I won't let you hurt him!" She pulled on him again. "He'll listen to me! Please! Let me talk to my fiancé."
I twisted my fingers together as the beeping of the monitors continued. I darted another look to see both Anna and Heath still out cold on their hospital beds. With a sigh, I opened my phone and scrolled down to Jack's number. I looked around me, swallowing at the sight of the ice spreading on the floor under my feet.
I inhaled deeply before bringing my knees up to my chest and curling inward. After David allowed Regina to enter the stall, he'd stayed long enough to make sure she was alright before he helped me get Heath into my car.
The doctor had been confident that Heath only had a minor concussion, while Anna was simply going to have a rather large bruise for a few days. The sound of the door opening caught my attention and I looked up, my breath catching in my throat when Gold walked in, clutching a mirror.
"Is that..." I broke off, scrambling to my feet before I rushed into his arms. He hushed me softly, brushing a hand over my messy bun before he pulled away from the hug.
"Are you all right, dear?" He asked softly, making me shrug before I raised a hand to rub at my sore, tired eyes. "I, uh, heard what happened from Whale."
I nodded allowing him to seat me in the uncomfortable plastic monstrosity that passed for a chair. With me watching silently, he approached first Anna and raised his glimmering hand to touch her head. She sighed, the pained expression clearing from her face.
I sighed in relief, watching as the color returned to her face and watched as Gold did the same to Heath with similar results.
"Now," he returned to my side and placed a hand on my shoulder. "You have a gentleman caller, my dear." He raised the mirror and I watched as grey smoke began to swirl in it. When it cleared, I gasped at the sight of Jack's smiling face.
"Hey, snowflake." He whispered softly, the smile growing as tears filled my eyes.
"Jack..." My hands clenched uselessly by my sides and I forced them to relax. "How are you?"
"Well, we almost got eaten by a few ogres, but other than that, we're good." He frowned suddenly. "And we found a guy with a hook for a hand." His brow rose as both Gold and I stiffened. "Now him?"
"You could say that." Gold hissed out through stiff lips while I nodded shortly.
"Well-" He stopped, looking over his shoulder before he frowned. "I gotta go, we're on the move again."
"Wait!" I cried, placing a hand on the mirror as Jack turned back to face me. "Just...come home safe, okay?"
He smiled warmly at my plea and nodded. "I will, Snowflake. I promise."
With that, his face disappeared, leaving only my tear-stained reflection in the glass. I exhaled shakily before I hugged the mirror to my chest and looked up at Gold.
"Thank you." I whispered softly, making him nod before a soft moan caught our attention. I turned to see Anna stirring and was perched on the side of the bed before I even noticed I'd moved. "Anna?"
She blinked, slowly coming to and I gripped her hand tightly. "E-Elsa?" She whispered softly and I nodded with a smile.
"It's me."
Her answering smile was blinding and I swallowed back the bile that rose in my throat when I turned to see Gold examining the still snow hovering over my seat. I turned back to Anna so fast that my neck ached from the movement. Focusing on her sleepy smile, I forced myself to respond to it, even as the ground beneath my feet began to ice over.
"Erin." Gold said softly, a hint of warning in his voice. "Meet me in the Pawn Shop tomorrow." He nodded his head at Anna and I before he turned and left the room, leaving me to stare after him as ice settled heavily in my stomach.
I turned back to Anna, forcing a smile onto my face as Rumple's words bounced around in my head. Anna may not have noticed his silent warning, but I was all too aware of it.
