Chapter 26

True to her word Rosie sent Clint's things over to his old apartment the next day after checking with Natasha who agreed. It was clear that what Clint had done had rubbed her up the wrong way and from what Rosie could tell she didn't want to see him for a long time. Every time Rosie saw Natasha stropping around the Tower she couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Clint and Natasha had been best friends, partners they were like family to each other even before the Avenger and now look at them. She even felt guilty about telling Clint to stay away from Natasha so she went to tell her as soon as she could but she just shrugged it off. It didn't take long for the rest of the Tower's inhabitants to figure out that Clint had returned, Natasha's foul mood was evidence enough even Rosie's Grandparents, yes they were still there, were starting to figure out something wasn't right.

Two days later Rosie strolled into the Helicarrier with Natasha thundering on ahead of her. Everyone on the Helicarrier knew of Natasha's foul mood but no one apart from Rosie and Clint knew exactly why. There were so many rumours running around about the cause of her mood but none of them were close to it. Rosie walked in the clear path that was left behind Natasha following her towards their shared office which she just prayed that Clint wasn't in. Thankfully when they arrived there he wasn't but Natasha only grabbed her gym bag before heading out to the gym leaving Rosie in her wake. Deciding not to follow Rosie slipped into her desk chair set on doing some of her mountain of paperwork.

After an hour the door to the office flew open causing it to crashing against the wall. Confused Rosie looked up from the computer screen to see Spider-Man and White Tiger standing in a doorway. Raising an eyebrow at the pair she waited for them to speak.

"You better get to the gym now!" Spidey growled.

"It's a full out screaming match in there, the rest of the team was getting the other Agents out but we came to get you as soon as it started," Tiger explained.

"…don't tell me…" Rosie growled running her hands over her face.

"Yep," Spidey nodded. Shutting down her computer Rosie jumped up.

"Right which gym are they in? I can't promise that I'll be able to help though, there is a very high chance that if I intervene I'll get thrown into the wall," Rosie grumbled as she closed the door behind her before sprinting after her friends. Once they reached the gym they were greeted by the rest of the team standing outside looking very confused and slightly scared. Seeing her team sanding outside looking like a bunch of wimps Rosie couldn't help but shake her head before pushing her way inside. Just like she thought there were Natasha and Clint next to punching bags screaming their heads off at one another.

"IT WAS BAD ENOUGH THAT YOU QUIT! DID YOU KNOW THE PANIC YOU CAUSED US ALL?! ROSIE ESPECIALLY! THEN YOU MADE IT WORSE! YOU HAD NO RIGHT, NO FUCKING RIGHT TO KISS ME THEN LEAVE! YOU RAN LIKE A FUCKING COWARD!" Natasha screamed. Rosie cringed at Natasha's scream. Silently she cursed her as she heard her name dropped into the conversation. Yes she was the only one that knew properly what was going on between them but that doesn't mean she hast to be in the middle! Wincing as the screaming continued Rosie watched as Natasha shoved Clint roughly in the shoulder whilst screaming something she never thought she'd hear her say out loud in a public place.

"YOU LEAVING BROKE MY HEART CLINT! YOU LEFT ME SO CONFUSED! YOU KISSED ME, GOT MY HOPES UP AND THEN LEFT! IT HURT CLINT IT PHSYICALLY HURT ME!" she screamed. Rosie's mouth dropped. Did she really just say that? Did Natasha really just admit she had feelings for Clint in the middle of the gym's Helicarrier? By the looks of it Clint was just as shocked as her. He was standing stock still staring at Natasha wide eyed trying to process what she had just admitted. It was then Natasha processed what she had just shouted.

"…shit…" she whispered. Turning Natasha went to leave the gym, unwilling to be in the situation any longer but before she could get very far as Clint grabbed her wrist spinning her around.

"I what?" he whispered. Natasha scowled at him beginning to close herself off.

"Let go off me Clint," she hissed not meeting his eyes. Apparently that was evidence enough for him as he stepped forward and kissed her on the lips. Natasha quickly backed away before punching him in the jaw sending him flying to the ground.

"Clint! I'm sorry that was just a reaction!" her hands flew to her mouth to hide her on coming laugh.

"I probably deserved it… good to see you haven't lost your punch though…" Clint muttered holding his jaw. Finally the laugh escaped Natasha causing Clint to give her a weak smile in return. Still laughing Natasha held out her hand to help him up which Clint took earning him a peck on the check. Natasha's actions caused Rosie to through her hands in the air and groan in defeat she officially had no idea what was going on.

"You too are so weird you know that? I mean one minute your fighting like you're about to claw the others eyes and now you're probably about to make out in the middle of the gym!" Rosie cried earning her a glare from the assassins. That was her cue to leave.

"Right ok I'm going but sort this…" she pointed to the two of them, "out before you get back to the Tower, that is if you're coming back Barton or have you still quit? Erg god only knows… see you later Nat!" she called over her shoulder as she strutted out the gym.

She barely made it out the door before she tripped over her team who had all, clearly been listening at the door. Hands on hips she stood above her team who were all lying in a heap on the ground. With a shake of her head she jumped over them and carried off down the hall with her fellow superheroes soon falling in step with her.

"So what happened?" Iron Fist asked tilting his head to one side. Rosie just shrugged whilst shaking her head.

"Honestly I have no idea," she laughed half-heatedly. The teenagers looked at their young leader expecting more of an explanation but when none came they dropped the subject completely.

"So who's up for lunch and then some training?" Power Man asked.

"Well I was going to start on my paper work…" Rosie trailed off.

"Who are you trying to kid Ro? We all know you're not gonna do it," Nova laughed. Smiling Rosie agreed and nearly as soon as she nodded her head she was dragged along to the canteen by her team mates.
