(A/N)

I'm so sorry about the lack of updates. I don't have any excuse for you. I'M LAZY! I'm fourteen and I am incredibly lazy. I stay in bed until one and I don't so anything and I just can't sit for an hour and type. I hope that school wil get me back on a schedule of some sort. Again I'm sorry.

Disclaimer: I do not own any publicly recognized figures. Stephenie Meyer does (in this story at least)

I rubbed the arm that Edward had bandaged for me as I thought it over quickly. I looked at Alice, who was looking at me intently.

"What do I do, Alice?" I asked, almost afraid of the answer. Edward looked at Alice with a puzzled expression. How I wished I could know what they were saying.

"Bella, with the Volturi coming, I wouldn't," Alice finally said after a silent conversation with Edward. I would ask him about that later. "But I'm not you and you have to decide. You haven't made any decisions yet."

I groaned in frustration. I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to lie to my dad, but would I risk our safety and his to tell him the truth?

"Would they find out if I told him?" Her eye glazed over a bit as she looked into the future that my decision would decide. Would the Volturi find out about my dad knowing and what would happen if they did?

"Ugh!" Alice groaned suddenly, plopping onto my bed. "I can't see and I have a feeling that it has something to do with the mutts."

Edward sighed and got up to look out the window. I leaned over to look as well, but I didn't see any wolves.

"I don't hear anyone, Alice," Edward said turning around. "There aren't any wolves."

"That doesn't explain why I can't see!" Alice erupted, getting up and pacing rapidly.

"Alice, calm down," I said. She turned around and looked at me curiously for a moment. Then she spun around abruptly and walked out of my room. She burst back in thirty seconds later.

"It's you!" Alice exclaimed, "I can't see because of you. Or your baby rather."

"So we're blind then," Edward sighed, sitting down on the floor next to me.

"Looks like it," Alice scowled. "Let's think strategically then. Name pros and cons of telling Charlie."

"He'd know," Edward stated immediately.

"Is that a pro or a con?" Alice scowled.

"Either."

"Not helping. Bella?"

"Shouldn't we wait to make this decision with the rest of the family?"

It was silent.

"Go check what they're doing," Edward requested. Alice got up and left the room. Edward turned to me.

"Bella," Edward started, "I'm sorry. That's not enough, but there isn't a word... God, I'm bad at this."

"Apologies?"

"No," Edward shook his head, but then contradicted "Well, yes, but that wasn't what I was referring to. I'm bad at this," he took my hand. "Being in a relationship," he explained.

I shook my head, "Your not bad at it, Edward. You just have to get used to being in one a little more. You're actually pretty good at it when you're not mad at... something."

"You give me too much credit," Edward interjected. He tried again, "I'm sorry. I was never mad at you. I'm trying to keep you safe. I am. It's just that I'm so fixated on keeping you safe that I'm not focusing on keeping you happy."

"I am safe," I told him, "I'm safer than most people are. I have an entire family of vampires looking after me."

"Most people don't need vampires to protect them. Most people don't cling to dangerous beings. Or marry them for that matter." He had me there.

"I think you mean normal people. And you and I established long ago that I'm not normal," I pointed out. "Nor do I want to be."

Edward smiled. "It would be in your best interest to be normal," He paused. "But I'd be lying if I said that that's what I wholeheartedly wanted."

Before I could respond Alice walked back in to the room.

"They're still chasing her for now, but they'll lose her soon. Bella? Any decisions?" Alice asked when she walked into the room.

"What happens if we tell him?" I asked.

"It makes our lives a whole hell of a lot more complicated," Alice responded. I looked at Alice, knowing that she would see my decision.

"I'll get Jasper over here as soon as I can," Alice said.

"Your making a good choice, love," Edward said.

"They lost Victoria again," Alice told us. Edward nodded, like he knew that would happen. "They're on their way."

"Get Jasper to put Charlie to sleep, then I guess," I said, getting up. Edward helped me, keeping on hand on me at all times ready to catch me if I fell.

"Jasper!" Alice said, opening the window. She quickly explained the plan to him and he nodded before disappearing down the stairs.

"Whoa!" I said, my knees buckling and eyes closing. Edward caught me and held me up. Jasper was affecting me this much while he was downstairs? Huh.

"Done," Jasper said suddenly at the door. I still felt extraordinarily tired but I could walk.

"Come on. Lets go home and discuss this."

! #$%^&*()! #$%^&*()! #$%^&*()

"This is... bad," Carlisle stated simply.

We all in some way attested to this statement, murmuring in agreement.

"We can't do this, Carlisle!" Rosalie insisted angrily. "The Volturi are already coming for some unknown reason. We don't need to have a real offense. I'm assuming that Bella doesn't want her dad to become a vampire or die."

I didn't want him to die. And I didn't want him to be forced into vampirism. I rubbed my temples and my stomach grumbled. Edward stood to get me food, no doubt realizing that I hadn't really eaten much today.

I blinked, trying to expel some drowsiness. "No, I don't want that," I responded, though she hadn't been searching for any response from me. Edward came back with a sandwich and a glass of juice. I thanked him and took a bite of the sandwich before speaking again. "What option do you think is best for all of us as a whole?"

"Don't tell him," Rosalie replied without hesitation.

"Rosalie," Edward reprimanded sharply before turning to me and saying softly, "Bella, love, we have to take into consideration what hardships this will put on you as well."

I realized I was unconsciously touching my stomach.

"If we tell him, we would all potentially be in big trouble," I said. Rosalie had a small but triumphant smirk on her face with my commentary. I wanted, uncharacteristically, to smack it off her pretty face. "But if we don't tell him, even if we tell him it was dream, what Victoria said about Edward, raises a little suspicion. He would start looking more closely. Maybe start digging around. Charlie's not stupid and he's not unobservant. He's known something is different about you guys and that encounter with Victoria, even as a dream, revealed quite a bit."

They considered what I had said.

"She's right," Edward muttered. "I read his mind. Victoria said I was a murderer and even if it was only dream Charlie will start looking closer."

"What do you want us to do then?" Emmett asked. "Tell him? Man, you know that the Volturi-"

"Will kill us," Rosalie cut in, "For real this time. Are you trying to get us killed?"

"I'm trying to do what's right," Edward answered.

"This isn't what's right! Edward, you-"

I cut her off, "Why not let him choose?"

Rosalie glared at me for interrupting her. The rest of the room was looking at me. I started talking again.

"We tell him that what he wan't us to tell him is dangerous, that there is no going back and that it's dangerous to him. We tell him that we can't tell him the truth, but if he really wants to know then we'll tell him as much as we can with out breaking any laws."

Silence.

"That," Esme said, breaking the stiff atmosphere, "is not a bad idea."

No one disagreed though they didn't agree either.

"Bella," Edward spoke up, "Charlie won't care about his safety enough not to demand more."

"Tell him that it's hazardous to all if us then," Jasper suggested, "It's true after all. Bella shouldn't have any problem with that."

"Ha. Ha. Very funny, Jasper," I said sarcastically. "This isn't really a laughing matter though."

"No, it's not," Carlisle said. "That seems to be the best option we have."

Rosalie tried to protest. "But, Carlisle, the Volturi-"

"Will have to see that he didn't break any laws. We didn't reveal our nature. We did our best to conceal ourselves, but not doing this will make Charlie far more curious. We'll go with Bella's plan."

"When?" Emmet asked.

"Tonight."

(A/N)

Alright. So, I've actually spent the past month trying to figure out what to tell Charlie. I hope that this doesn't piss too many people off. i know you all wanted me to tell Charlie but the Volturi would find out during their visit (You probably forgot about that, didn't you? That would be my fault.)

I will try to update more frequently but I just... can't. I hope that school will get me on a better schedule, hence at least a few minutes every day to write.

Thank you for reading. Leave any questions or comments in a review. I always answer questions, but most of the time (I'm sorry) I don't answer comments.

I want everyone that has ever commented to know that I really do appreciate any feedback and I hope that you keep leaving me some reviews. Until the next time I update, live long and prosper. (Sorry I saw Star Trek the other day.)
