X-x-o-o—Red Envelope—o-o-x-X
Yami yawned as he descended the stairs to the first floor. His Aibou had already left the bed when he woke up so he saw no more need to lie in any longer. And the bed was getting gradually colder. It was February after all.
Oh! That reminded him, today was Valentine's Day. His lips curled into a lecherous smirk as he thought about all that he had in store for little Yuugi. He wiped the overflowing drool dripping down his chin with the sleeve of his robe and shook his head to clear his mind. He would not want to get caught like that by Yuugi's mom, grandpa or Yuugi himself. They have had some quite awkward moments with Yuugi walking in on him when he was having his 'Yami time', but that is a story for a different day.
Yami stretched his slender limbs over his head, hearing a couple satisfying pops come from his spine, shoulders and arms. Downstairs Yuugi was already munching away on the breakfast that Mama Mutou had made. Grandpa was not in sight.
"Morning." He greeted, sitting down next to Yuugi, briefly kissing him on the cheek.
"Morning." Yuugi greeted back without looking up. Mama Mutou placed a plate with an omelet and two pieces of toast in front of him. Yami started eating the meal presented to him with delight. Grandpa walked into the kitchen in his robe and had a stack of envelopes in his hands. He sat down on his seat at the kitchen table and started to flip through them.
"Bills, bills, advertisement, bills, bills." He muttered as he went through them. "Oh Yuugi, you got a letter too." Sugoroku said, holding out a small red envelope to the young man. Yuugi's face lit up brightly and he eagerly reached out to it with both hands.
Clatter
Yami had dropped his cutlery once he saw the red envelope. "Aibou!" Yami screamed, slamming his hands on the kitchen table and standing up. The sudden movement made Yami's chair fall to the floor. "How dare you!" Yami screamed, looking at the red envelope.
Yuugi looked at his grandfather in confusion and back at his enraged boyfriend. Why was Yami so upset?
"Who is it from?" He seethed, walked over to where Yuugi sat. He tried looking over Yuugi's shoulder to who the sender was. Yuugi hid it from sight.
"It's nothing Yami." Yuugi said, hiding the envelope. "I got this from Ebay."
"Who the hell is Ebay!" Grandpa and Mama Mutou were trying to hold in their laughter in the background. Same with Yuugi, he knew that Yami would be extra sour if he laughed now so he tried to maintain a straight face.
"It's nothing!" Yuugi said again. Yami leaned over and snatched the envelope from Yuugi. Yami's eyes darted from left to right as he read the envelope.
"Who is Ebay, why does it come from America and why do they send you a Valentine's letter?!" Yami screamed as he slammed the envelope back unto the table. Yuugi's eyes widened. "Be careful with that!" He screamed trying to get the envelope back. Yami snatched it back into his hands before Yuugi could get to it. He held the corners as if he was going to rip it. However, one look at his Aibou's wide pleading eyes, he changed his mind and slapped the envelope on the table.
Yami turned without saying anything and thundered up the stairs. Yuugi watched him leave and quickly grabbed the envelope, checking for any damage Yami had caused. "Making a scene about something so small." He muttered, peeling the envelope open.
"Can you explain what that was all about?" His mother asked, sitting where Yami had been sitting earlier. Yuugi rolled his eyes.
"I ordered this from Ebay." He said, showing them a Duel Monster card in a transparent sleeve. It was the American version of the Black Magician, better known as the Dark Magician.
Sugoroku finally burst out laughing. "Maybe you should apologize." He chuckled, rubbing his grandson's wild spiked hair. "Why do I have to apologize? Let him apologize. I did nothing wrong." Yuugi muttered.
Thundering footsteps were heard again as Yami came down again. His scowl had never left his face and he was standing in front of Yuugi with his arms crossed over his chest. "I am ready." He stated.
Yuugi raised an eyebrow, card hidden behind his back. "For what?"
"Your apology."
"And I am waiting for yours." Yuugi retorted. Yami huffed and then noticed that Yuugi's hands were behind his back the whole time.
"What's behind your back?" Yami questioned.
"Nothing." Yami again was not convinced. Yuugi shot out of his chair, turning the opposite direction Yami was turning. The two were twirling around for a couple of minutes, much to Sugoroku's and Mama Mutou's amusement, before Yami finally got a hold of the card Yuugi was hiding. Yami's mouth dropped as he gazed at the card. He had wanted one for quite some time.
"A-Aibou…." He breathed, looking at the card in the shiny sleeve. "You listened." He hugged Yuugi tightly. "Thank you!" He cheered. "This is the best Valentine's Day ever!" Yami cheered as he ran up the stairs, card close to his heart.
"Y-Yami wait!" Yuugi said but Yami was already gone. The short boy slumped. Great, now he had to find a new birthday present for Yami. At least the card saved his ass this time… he had totally forgotten about Valentine's Day.
Author's Note: This is another fic based on a real happening in my life. I ordered this Dark Magician card from Ebay and it arrived in a small red envelope. My dad is the only person who has the key, thus access, to the mailbox and so he comes and slaps this red envelope on my desk.
"Why is a card coming to you from America?!" Since I am used to these kinds of situations, I calmly picked it up and looked it over. "Oh it's probably a card from Ebay."
"WHO IS EBAY?!" I laughed. Then I explained what Yu-Gi-Oh! was and showed him my other cards and well, he got bored real quick and left.
I would like to apologize for not uploading anything for such a long time. My day has been like this lately: Get up, go to school, come home and immediately go to sleep.
