Chapter 26: Hope for Demons
Nightmares can cause many mental illnesses?
Yuno POV.
That other dream gave me an idea, but I'm not sure what it truly means. I think it will make any demon human or something. I won't say anything about this until I know more information. Lucy, Jewl and I were walking around outside the manor. The air here felt so good. It must be spring. Jewl and Lucy stopped walking. I looked in front of us and saw a girl with long red hair down to the bottom of her back. "Well, who are you?" asked the girl that sounded like a dude. Wait, he is a dude. "Um…. I am Yuno. These two are Lucy and Jewl." I told him nervously. "Wait, Lucy?" he said as he pulled out a weird book. "Ah, here you are. I'll be seeing you soon." he said. This gave me a bad feeling. "What are you doing here Grell?" Sebastian said from behind us. "Oh, I came to see you Bassy. Its been so long since I have seen you." Grell said. If I didn't know anything, Grell seems to be in love with Sebastian. More of a one-sided love if you ask me. Sebastian walked over to him and punched him in the face. Ouch that must have hurt. "Get out of here." Sebastian said as Grell ran away. "Pesky grim reaper." Sebastian said as he went back into the manor. He must really hate him.
Night came very soon. I drifted into a deep sleep. I was in a black void. A voice spoke to me. "You can help the demons if you want. They will keep their unique abilities, but they won't have to eat souls anymore. They can also die, but they will be able to age and be with people they love." the voice said, then faded. The black void turned into the chamber where the other me sleeps. There were many small quakes. I ran through the tunnels and got to the surface. All those people were fighting the demon. Many were getting killed. The boy and girl I usually see were fighting as well. The demon shot a dark purple ray of light at the boy. The boy fell to the ground and the girl stopped attacking to go over to his side. She dragged him over to cover. I ran over to them. "No, stay with me! Please don't die!" the girl screamed at the boy. "Don't worry about me, just stay alive and see Yuno again." the boy said. I laid my hand on his shoulder, tears were running down my cheeks. The boy had smiled as the last ounce of life left him. I was crying just like the girl was. I didn't know him, but he was brave. I put my hand on the girls shoulder. She turned and looked at me. "I will fight on for the world's sake, and for Yuno." the girl said as she stood and faced the demon. She had anger in her dark green eyes. The dream then faded.
It was morning. I got out of bed and got dressed. Today we were going to London. We met Ciel and Sebastian at the front door. They had business to do in town. They told us to meet them at the car at 5pm. We walked all over the place. London was huge. They had so many shopping malls and small places as well. I had a feeling that we were being followed. I turned around and saw that creep Grell behind us. Well more like 15ft away. We continued to walk. We stopped at a public park bench. Jewl and I sat down while Lucy leaned against a light pole. "Hey Yuno, is something bothering you?" Jewl asked. "Sort of, I am trying to decide whether or not I should help Ciel and Sebastian." I told them. "How?" Lucy asked. I told them about the dream I had. Not the one in the ruined city, but the one that told me how to help demons. "I would ask them what they want before you make your decision." Lucy said. I nodded. We sat there for about 30 minutes when I heard the screeching of car tires. An out of control car sped strait for Lucy. Before any of us had time to react, the car had hit Lucy. She looked at us, tears running down her eyes and blood dripping from her mouth. "Lucy!" I screamed. Sirens went off in the distance. I went over to her. Tears ran down my face. Jewl sat on the bench in shock. Tears were forming in her eyes. "Yu-no, sorry." Lucy said between coughs. "Sorry, no. You have nothing to be sorry for." I told her. The light was leaving her eyes. She was gone when the ambulance arrived. The man in the car had minor injuries. Why Lucy had to die, it was wrong. Jewl and I made our way back to the car. Ciel and Sebastian were waiting. "Where's Lucy?" asked Ciel. I began to cry. "She was killed by an out of control car." Jewl said. We got into the car and went back to the manor. I stared at the gold ring on my finger. The red gem looked slightly darker.
The next day I just laid in bed. I didn't wan to get up. What happened to Lucy just shocked me. She was supposed to stay by my side here along with Jewl. But now she is dead. Jewl tried to get me out of my room, but I ignored her. Sebastian came up with my dinner. He sat it on the stand beside the bed. "You know Jewl is worried about you." Sebastian said. I just kept my head buried in my pillow. "You should try to cheer up. Think about Jewl and how she feels about this situation." He said as he left. I looked up at the closed door. He is right. I am not thinking strait, with what happened to Lucy, these weird dreams and Jewl's feelings. I slapped myself several times then ate. I took my plate back downstairs. Jewl was sitting in the dinning room. I sat down beside her. "Sorry, I was only thinking about myself. I won't ignore you anymore." I said as I hugged her. She smiled up at me. "When are you going to ask Ciel and Sebastian about the help you can provide?" Jewl asked. "I'll tell them tomorrow." I replied. We went back upstairs together.
That night I slept peacefully. No nightmares or dreams of any sort. The best sleep I have had in a long time. The only thing that really showed was images of the black demon right before I woke up. I go up and put on fresh clothes. I met Jewl in the hallway and we walked down to breakfast. We sat at the dinning room table. Ciel was already there sipping tea. "Good morning Ciel." Jewl said cheerfully. He looked at us. "Good morning Jewl, Yuno." he replied. Sebastian brought in our breakfast and went to stand by Ciel. We ate quickly. Sebastian took away the dishes then returned. "Ciel, Sebastian. How would you like to escape the fate of a demon?" I asked. They looked at me with confusion. 'What do you mean?" Ciel asked. I told them about my unique ability. "I wouldn't mind being human again." Ciel said with a smile. He must have some kind of crush on someone or something. "I have been a demon since the beginning. I want to be human." he said with a smile. "So you will allow me to help you both?" I asked. They both nodded. "I must not forget, you will keep you unique abilities and you can be killed but only by old age." I told them. Jewl went to get the knife. "What's the knife for?" Ciel asked. I explain the process to them. I pulled my bangs away from my eye. Ciel gave me his hand and I collected some of his blood. The process only took about five minutes. Next was Sebastian, his was a lot more painful and longer. I actually fainted from the pain his cure brought. I woke up later that evening in my bed. Jewl sat at the bottom. I had a head splitting headache. Ciel and Sebastian walked into the room. "Glad to see you a wake." Ciel said. I looked at him. His red eyes were replaced with beautiful blue eyes. Sebastian looked the same though. "Did it work?" I asked. "Yea, both Sebastian and I are human. Thank you Yuno." Ciel said with a big smile. I have never seen him smile like that before. "You should get some sleep. After that you must be tired." Ciel said as he and Sebastian left the room. He was right, I am exhausted. Jewl left the room after saying goodnight. I was alone and fell into a deep sleep. I a woke to the smell of smoke and burning flesh. The ruined world was burning. I stood by the bodies of the boy and girl. I looked up into the sky and saw the demon burning everything. I felt the urge to scream at the beast that destroyed the world. My gem started to glow. The blackish color of the gem disappeared and was replaced by the brightest it has ever been. The demon stopped burning her surroundings and looked in my direction. She looked confused. I had looked at myself. I was in the clothes that the sleeping me was in. I had her sword in my hand. I looked at the pink ribbon, then at the demon who had the same ribbon tied into her black hair. She was glaring at me, which means she can see me. I looked at the boy and girl at my feet. I just screamed into the heavens. The dream then began to fade. I woke up shaking. Sweat ran down my face. The morning light came through the windows. I got up and put on the clothes that follow me. Jewl walked in with her clothes that she came with on as well. We do leave today. At breakfast we ate fast. "I'm sorry to say this, but it is time for Jewl and I to leave." I told them. They looked at us. "It was nice to meet you both. Have a safe journey back." Sebastian said. I nodded and gave them a big smile. The blue portal appeared behind us. We waved goodbye as we went through. Goodbye Ciel, Sebastian; I will always remember you.
