Episode 3: Turnabout Colors

Part 2-3: Trial

?: Hold it!

Zak: Huh? Apollo?

Apollo: Heh... huff... I got some new evidence...

Judge: Really? Let's take a look!

Mak: Hm... A scrap of paper that seems burnt... Huh?!

Judge: W-What?

Mak: It has to do with Wallace, it says that...

Wallace: Wait! Don't read-

Zak: Objection! You can't tell us to keep evidence away!

Wallace: Oof!

Mak: Um... It says that there is a new policy to go green...

Zak:...! (This is just what we need!) "Slams Desk" This evidence has brought new light! This totally disproves the prosecutors claim, about the defendant's motive!

Mak: Ahh!

Wallace: NO! There has to be another reason!

Zak: Sorry, I don't think so!

Wallace: Ack! N-No! This isn't possible!

Zak: Heh, sorry.

Mak: Wait! There are a few more... A video tape... and a few glass shards...

Zak: That it?

Mak: No, these glass shards... they have blood...

Zak: B-Blood?!

Mak: I demand that this blood gets analyzed, ASAP!

Bailiff: Y-Yes ma'am!

Judge: I say that we take a thirty minute recess, just for the test to come back in.

Mak: I agree...

Zak: Ugh, that was close...

Apollo: I could tell, I bet I walked in at the right moment.

Zak: Heh, yeah, thanks...

Apollo: No problem.

Zak: Anyways, what happened with you?

Apollo: I got tricked, nearly killed, my friend saved me, and gave me evidence, and I brought it here... so far, the highlight of my day has been here...

Zak: Ha, here I thought it was important...

Apollo: Hey!

Zak: Heh, just kidding, Hey... I was wondering...

Apollo: Hm...?

Zak: Who do you think the real culprit is?

Apollo: With the info you learned... I think it is Wallace...

Zak: Really?

Apollo: It's the only thing that is logical... The only thing that I don't get is the motive...

Zak: What do you mean?

Apollo: I mean... Why would he want to blow up his own factory?

Zak:...Good point...

Apollo: Anyways, I have something I need to do...

Zak: Huh?

Apollo: I think I've got this figured out now... gotta go!

Zak: (Wait... didn't he just say that he didn't get the motive?) Whatever. It's time...

Courtroom No. 3

12:44 PM

Judge: That felt forever...

Zak: I agree...

Mak: Make that three...

Abigail: Really? I thought it was real quick!

Judge: Anyways... Did the results come in?

Mak: Yes, your honor... the blood belongs to... The defendant...

Zak: Huh?!

Judge: Ms. Erikson! Do you know what this means?

Mak: No, your honor...

Zak: (...I get now!) "Slams Desk" Your Honor! I know why her blood is on the glass shards!

Judge: Really? Tell us how!

Zak: The defendant's blood is on the glass because... Wallace hit her!

Mak: What?! That's crazy!

Zak: Is it really? I remember that the suspected weapon was a petrol bomb... or Molotov... and most molotovs come in bottles!

Mak: What?!

Judge: Mr. Erikson.

Zak: Yyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeesssssss?

Judge: Do you have any proof or explanation that this was contained in a glass bottle?

Zak:...

Mak: Ha! You don-

Zak: Objection! I have an explanation for this! The fire would have to touch the alcohol, so the bottle would have to break!

Mak: Noooooooooooooo!

Zak: Ha! Take that little sis!

Judge: Wait a minute! What fire?

Zak: Um... A molotov is a bottle with alcohol, and a flammable rag, set the rag on fire and throw it, breaks the bottle, and the fire touches the alcohol, and sets an area on fire.

Judge: I see... but how does this explain the defendant getting blood on the shards?

Zak: This is... (Wait... If what I just said makes sense... then Abigail getting hit over the head would make no sense!) Uh...

Mak: You had such a lucky streak... but it ends here... You caught yoursself between a rock and a hard place!

Zak: What?! (She just read my mind!)

Judge: If you have nothing else...

Zak:...

Judge: Then I guess this-

Zak: Hold it!

Mak: (What is he doing? He has nothing!)

Zak: I got this! I just need to rethink...

Judge: We don't have time to wait for you to think!

Zak:...Five...

Judge: Hm?

Zak: Five... Minutes...

Mak: No...

Judge: "Sigh..." Yes, you may have five minutes... starting... now!

Zak: (Let's start at the beginning... The factory exploded, which they think is by petrol bomb... Wallace owns the company... and Abigail's blood is on the glass shards... but how? Is there something I'm missing...?!) Your honor!

Judge: Hm?

Zak: I thought about it, and maybe, just maybe, our answer is on the video tape!

Judge: Video tape?

Zak: Yes, Mak said it was one of the three pieces of evidence, which we all completely forgot about...

Judge: Then let us see it!

Zak: (I have to keep a sharp eye...)

Time: 0:30

People walk by, seemingly harmlessly.

Time: 2:00

Man covering up his face with trench coat and fedora.

Time: 2:50

Fire starts.

Mak: The video tape stops there...

Judge: Mr. Erikson, did you notice anything?

Zak:...Go to two minutes.

Mak: Alright.

Time: 2:00

Man covering up his face with trench coat and fedora.

Zak: (What color of hair does that person have? White? Abigail is blondish, Wallace is full on blonde... who is this person...?!) The man in the trench coat! He has something in his hands!

Judge: It looks like... a bottle!

Mak: Wait! How do we know that this isn't Abigail- I mean the defendant!

Zak: "Slams desk" Look at the hair color! Does that look remotely like the defendant's hair?!

Mak: Ahhhhh!

Zak: Following that up, why would the defendant want to hit herself in the head with a bottle?!

Mak: Okay! Okay! I get it...

Judge: Mr. Erikson! You haven't answered my question!

Zak: Maybe if we find this person, we'll find your answer!

?: Hey!

Judge: it does seem that way...

?: Hello!

Mak: "Sigh..."

Wallace: Pay attention, and I'll give you money...

Judge: Bribery is not allowed in the court of law... although...

Zak: Don't fall into his tricks! What do you what Wallace?

Wallace: That man in the trench coat... he was delivering something to the factory...

Zak: (Was he delivering death?)

Wallace: He was delivering a ship in a bottle.

Zak: Huh?

Wallace: The manager for that factory used to sail the seven seas!

Judge: Wow! I'm sure that was quite the adventure!

Wallace: Yes! He told me many stories when I was younger!

Zak: (You were younger?!)

Wallace: Anyways, the man wasn't holding a petrol bomb!

Zak: Then why don't we see the man leaving? All he does is walk in, and then, about fifty minutes later, the fire starts, and we never see the man again, also, how did the video tape survive?

Mak: Well, it stopped before the fire got to it, so the only way is that someone took it out.

Wallace: Maybe the man took the video tape out, there is a blind spot under the camera...

Zak: Wait... Huh?!

Man: That prosecutor isn't even do his job!

Woman: The Wallace man is doing all the work right now!

Man: and that defense attorney is even worse!

Judge: Order! Order in the court!

Mak: N-No job?

Zak: T-The worst?

Mak:...I...I hate you all!

Zak:...!

Mak: Shut up! Every single one of you!

Zak: M-Mak?

Mak: You are all worse! You don't have the right to call us out! If you were in our shoes, then you would act the same way!

Judge: Order! Ms. Erikson! One more out burst, and you will be held in contempt of court!

Mak: I... I hate everyone...

Zak: (Mak... You hate everyone? Even your parents? Your family?)

Judge: "Ahem..." Anyways, I will give the defense and the prosecution the rest of today to continue to investigate, since it seems like nobody knows what is going on.

Zak: Yes, your honor.

Mak:...

Zak: (Mak? What's wrong?)
