Chapter 26
Thoughts
Amy's P.O.V.
What is he doing here? Hasn't he hurt us enough already?!
I growled in disgust at the man standing in front of us; how I had hoped to never see him again. Maya, on the other hand, decided to smile at him. Has she forgotten what he's done to us?!
"Hi daddy! I hope you didn't have much trouble getting here" she said a bit too happily.
"No sweetie, there wasn't any trouble at all. I just came to pick you girls up, that's all."
"Maya and I are fine uncle Tonie. I just need to talk to her for a minute, is all."
I gave everyone else a look and they all nodded, telling me they understood that I wanted them to keep an eye on Tonie. Then I pulled Maya to our bedroom, and shut the door.
"What are you doing Maya? Have you-
"Lost my mind? No. He needs to think that we are happy that he's here. It'll be easier for me to talk to him.
Man, I really hate it when she interrupts me, and then makes a logical statement. I sighed quietly and shook my head.
"Maya, you need to be careful when you think of these things. I don't want to lose you too.
"I know Amy. But he's after me. No matter what happens, you need to stay here with our friends, and stay safe. I'll find a way back to you."
I opened my mouth to protest, but she grasped my paw tightly and gave me a look that meant she was serious.
"Fine, I promise I'll stay with them. But you need to promise me that you'll be okay!
"I promise Amy. You won't lose me to him; I'll come back for you.
She hugged me tight, and then walked out before I could say anything. I sat down on my bed and thought about what my parents would want me to do, then walked back towards the kitchen. When I got there, what I saw made me want to hide under my bed like a scared little cub.
