It's been so long, eh?
Schools been kicking my butt really hard. On the other hand, I also joined tumblr (my-will-is-lokis) which is quite time consuming. I'm also training my dog for contests in the summer, finishing up projects, playing with my new Huion tablet and reading A Million Suns while still trying to get over the Sherlock season 3 finale...*sighs*But at long last comes another chapter. Don't leave me, fellow beyblade fans, as this chapter will be longer then the last two and hopefully just as awesome. Let's keep the beyblade spirit going this school year, am I right? And so continues the Beyblade Prom.
"Let it Rip!" Blaze Hagane grinned as her Beyblade zipped around the tiny stadium, clashing against her opponent, a pink Hyacinth Apus that belonged to a blonde girl in an even pinker dress. She was weak, so Blaze relished in pushing her bey around before sending it out of the stadium.
"Hey!" The girl screeched, diving to grab her bey before it hit the ground. "What was that for? You so cheated!"
Blaze wiped imaginary dust off her dress. "Sorry."
"No you're not, you ugly little-"
"Hey! Watch what you say." Yuki appeared behind the girl, bumping into her shoulder. "Miss Marisa, please don't be cruel to my girlfriend."
The girl, Marisa, rolled her eyes and snorted. "I'll be back." She warned with a dagger glare at Blaze. Blaze shrugged, though she worried internally about making enemies with a girl like Marisa.
Once she was gone, Blaze turned to Yuki. "Thanks." She said, smiling.
Yuki grinned. "No problem. That's what boyfriends do, no? Now, how far are you into this Beyblade competition?"
"Three down, nine to go." Blaze boasted with a laugh.
Yuki pulled out a beat up Anubius. "Gingka got me in the second round. I'm out." He sounded sad, but he was grinning, so Blaze guessed he was only pretending to be hurt.
"I'm sorry." She said. "Well, I'm up against my next opponent in two minutes."
"I'll be watching!" Yuki said, grabbing her arm and steering her away from the stadium so that she faced the dance floor. "But how about a little dance first?"
Blaze glanced back at the stadium, then towards the dance floor and sighed. "I suppose it won't hurt."
Yuki grabbed her arms and twirled her in a circle, making Blaze giggle. "Stop it!" She laughed, tumbling over him.
Yuki grabbed her waist in an attempt to straighten her, but only toppled over more. She laughed and steadied herself. "You may be a good blader, but you're a terrible dancer."
Yuki smiled sheepishly. "I know. Sorry, Ms. Blaze."
Blaze laughed and patted his arm. "It's okay."
Just then, the DJ called over the loudspeaker, "Next battle: Blaze Hagane versus Camille Sven!"
Blaze started up. "Ooh, yes!" She kissed Yuki on the cheek quickly and called, "Which me luck!" Then she turned to him and ran back to the stadium, where she faced a girl roughly her age, who was wearing a white gown that looked more like a wedding dress then a prom dress. Her nails were perfectly done and her face was pretty enough, and her blonde hair lay in perfect tresses along her back.
Blaze immediately knew she didn't like her.
The girl opened her mouth and said in a squealing tone, "So, you're the thing that beat Marisa?"
Oh, so you're friends? Blaze grumbled in her mind. "What of it?"
"Well, I'm going to get you back for what you did to her!"
Blaze felt a little thrill go up her spine. She sensed Yuki watching her. "Alright!"
Camille blinked and then reached into the black belt she had clipped around her dress, withdrawing a black launcher and a black-and-white bey. "This is Hyacinth Cygnus, the bey that is so much better than yours." She said shortly and attached the bey to her launched.
Blaze mirrored her. "I'm ready."
Camille snorted. "Fine. Three.."
The small crowd gathered around the stadium chanted, "Two!"
"One!" Yuki finished.
"Let it Rip!"
Blaze launched with all her might. Shadow Cat whirred around the arena, glowing a pruple hue. Blaze felt it's excitement and grew excited herself.
Cat clashed with Cygnus, which was followed by a minor struggle. Then again. Cygnus was a strong attack type, and the second time the beys clashed, he managed to push Cat to the edge of the stadium. Blaze gritted her teeth and ordered her bey to perform a barrage attack, trying to push Cygnus as far away from it as possible. Then, once Cygnus was far away enough, Cat circled away in Blaze's favourite manoeuver and sped across the stadium, careened into Cygnus, and sent the bey flying.
Not bad! Blaze thought. Didn't even have to use my special move, though. She caught Cat out of the air and smiled at Camille, holding out her hand.
Camille flinched away dramatically. "How dare you offer me your hand, you ugly, horrible blader?"
"Sorry for being nice!" Blaze answered back, pulling her hand away. "Not that I'd want to touch hands with you. I'd be afraid to catch the 'loser' disease."
"OOOOOOoooooohhh." Kiyoko called from beside the DJ, which brought way to much attention to Blaze. Blaze reddened and tucked Cat into her purse, which she had around her shoulder.
Camille sneered. "Oh, well played. We'll see how well I can play."
She turned away in a whirl of white and stomped away to join Marisa and a reddish-brown haired girl.
Yuki hugged Blaze from behind. "I have never heard you insult anyone like that before!"
"She had it coming." Blaze replied. "Ugh, I can't be mean to people."
The Beyblade competition continued, and Blaze cheered on her friends as they competed against each other. Some people who had already lost joined her and began to cheer with her.
After two more battles (in which she promptly emerged victor) Blaze excused herself and told the DJ to wait for her. She then told Yuki that she had to go to the bathroom and set off through the crowd of people, through the door that entered the prom room and into the Metal High hallways.
Blaze proceeded to the bathroom, where she met up with Natsumi and Cassie, who were taking selfies in front of the mirror. Blaze hid behind them, making faces in the lens of the camera until Natsumi noticed she was being photobombed.
"Blaze!" Natsumi laughed, looking through her pictures. "You make us look ridiculous."
Cassie laughed. "On second thought, Nat, we look ridiculous anyways."
Natsumi put one arm around Blaze and the other around Cassie. "True!" After a moment, she said, "Anyway, I'm hungry and I feel like a cupcake."
Cassie rolled her eyes. "How many does that make?"
"Seven." Natsumi replied.
Blaze glared at her and said in a joking tone, "How do you stay do skinny?"
"Are you kidding me? I hate being this skinny! I look like a stick." Natsumi complained.
Blaze rolled her eyes in an over exaggerated gesture and began to fix her hair in the mirror. She became so engrossed in arranging it the right way, she didn't notice when Natsumi and Cassie left.
Blaze pulled one more curl into place and prepared to leave the bathroom when she heard footsteps behind her. Figuring it was someone she knew, she didn't look up from what she was doing.
Suddenly, a snobby voice sounded right behind her ear, "So, you're all alone now."
Blaze blinked and turned around slowly, trying not to shake with fear.
Standing behind her was a very pale girl in a short orange dress, with reddish brown hair that was curled in the back. She had grey eyes.
Behind her stood Marisa and Camille, both looking smug. Each of them was holding a launcher.
Blaze gulped. She could beat each of these girls in a one-on-one match…..but they were together.
"Let's see how well you can do against the three of us." The girl in the orange dress laughed, and the two behind her followed. "See, this is what happens when you mess with us. You hurt my friends, now we hurt you."
Blaze trembled. She didn't have much experience with bullies. Being a very nice and helpful person had always kept her in everyone's favour. She could always count on the help of friends, but now she was alone.
"Well, watcha waitin' for?" The girl sneered. "Too afraid?"
"N-no…."
"Then take your launcher out!"
Blaze's hands inched slowly into her purse. Her hand enclosed around the grip of her launcher and Cat. She brought them out slowly, trying to bide her time. Maybe someone would come and find her….
"Oh, for beyspirit's sake! Three! Two! One!"
The three girls launched at the same time, making Blaze jump back so she wasn't hit. She bumped into the sink, bruising her hip.
She scrambled to attach her bey to its launcher and launched feebly.
The three girls laughed.
"Not so brave alone, are you?" The main girl laughed.
"Go get her, Lauren! Show her how much better we are!" Camille called.
Lauren, the lead girl, pointed to a bey that circled around Cat, hitting it again and again relentlessly. It was orange and blue, sparkling like some sort of demented flower. "See that? That's Midnight Striker. So much better than that thing you pretend is a bey."
Something broke in Blaze. She suddenly started to cry, even though she tried to hide it.
"Oh, now she feels bad!" Lauren taunted. "Oh well! Go, Striker!" Her bey whirred fast and Blaze watched in horror as it flew at Cat fast as light. If it collided with Cat, who was on defense, Cat would most surely be shattered…..
And she couldn't let that happen.
"Cat, Shadow Claw Blast!"
Blaze snapped. All niceness gone, all wanting to be liked down the drain. She wanted revenge. And she got it.
She grinned as Cat emitted a dark blast of supersonic energy, throwing Cygnus and Apus against the wall, chipping pieces of metal off their fusion wheels.
Lauren, however, had managed to shield her bey, so it now still stood spinning. But Lauren picked it off the ground and was backing away. "Fine, you win, but we'll be back. And I'll defeat you." She hissed.
Blaze clapped her hands together before catching Cat and putting her bey back in her purse. "Will you now?"
"Hmph." Lauren stormed off.
"Where have you been?" Yuki asked Blaze, who joined him on the dancefloor.
"Oh, washroom." Blaze replied nonalchantly.
Yuki furrowed his eyebrows. "Why do you smell like smoke?"
"Just, you know. Slight-ugh-problem in the bathroom."
Yuki didn't look to convinced. "Why are you smiling?"
Blaze grinned. "It's my Prom!"
"Mhm. Oh, by the way, you're battling Wanda next."
Blaze cracked her knuckles, thinking of the events in the bathroom. "Bring 'er in. I'm ready."
-eaglenation, over and out.
