As always I don't own Ghost Hunt in any way
In the charred drawing room lay several exhausted figures with various buckets surrounding them.
"We should have left," Masako, who was kneeling and leaning onto Mai's shoulder, sighed to John. The priest nodded his head, which was resting on Yasu's leg, in agreement while maintaining his prone position.
"I hate putting out fires," Bou-san complained tiredly, still clutching one of the buckets in his lap while leaning back onto Mai and Yasu.
"It was just like your vision," Yasu commented resting his head on Mai's unoccupied shoulder. Naru glanced at them from his chair but made no move to stop it, instead slouching to rest his head on the back of the chair.
"I can't believe it actually happened," Mai replied, absentmindedly stroking Angel who was napping in her lap.
"But this was far worse then you described. You said the walls would get burnt, but you didn't say it would be this bad," Monk turned his head a bit to whine at Yasu.
"What did you expect?" Yasu asked slumping further onto Mai's shoulder.
"Where else were the phantom lights?" Gene questioned Mai while draped across Naru. Ai and Lin, the only two still standing looked over towards Mai for her answer.
"Umm… In the mail room… the tutors study and the worker's rest station, but…"
"But what?" Naru urged when Mai paused.
"I don't know how reliable my dreams are," Mai added scratching her cheek. This comment caused Angel to flick his tail at Mai, Masako to swat her with her kimono sleeve and Yasu to flick Mai's forehead. The girl whined a bit before pouting at the three, Gene and Bou-san chuckled at the display while Ai, Lin and Naru looked on amused.
"An occasionally helpful hint is better than nothing," Naru added in response. Bou-san then got up causing Yasu and Mai to fall backwards when they lost their support. The two groaned in pain while Masako who just barely managed to catch herself from falling patted Mai's shoulder in sympathy.
"Hey Naru, wouldn't you say this camera just about had it?" Monk asked examining the wet and badly burnt camera.
"Indeed, don't worry Miss Hara and John can grab another one next time they visit," Naru stated causing Masako and John to despair quietly.
"Lin reset the equipment,"
"Miss Matsuzaki, we're back with the supplies," John announced holding up a bag as he and Masako entered the infirmary. The two looked tired since they had been ridding since the early morning fire till noon.
"Good timing, Tori grab them and get to work," Ayako replied ordering Tori, while she moved to another patient.
"Doctor Matsuzaki we have another one," A tall man announced as he walked into the room, another man following behind him carrying a blond woman.
"Richard, how do you keep finding them?" Ayako questioned exhausted as she gestured to one of the few free beds available.
"I just do, Dr. Matsuzaki. I was simply passing by this time when the exited the dinner hall," Richard replied while the man who carried the small woman glanced quickly in his direction. The man in the blue suit told Ayako how the two of them were eating in the dinning hall when between her 40th or 50th dish the girl suddenly felt extremely tired and collapsed.
"Are you sure it wasn't the amount of food she was eating?" Ayako asked noticing how the girl still remained thin despite apparently eating approximately 50 dishes.
"She can normally eat twice as much," The blue suited man deadpanned causing Ayako to stare at him a few minutes in a shock. Richard also looked towards the girl with growing horror.
"Ah, Miss Katsuragi is that you?" John questioned the woman in bed. Masako also looked over to the bed in surprise recognizing the woman from Kaidan restaurant when she, John and Madoka investigated Mai.
"Ah Mai's friends," Yako Katsuragi noted tiredly before closing her eyes and falling asleep. Neuro glared at the sleeping girl with crossed arms as if urging her to wake up and give a better explanation.
"She has a really bad fever and needs rest Mr..."
"Nougami, Neuro Nougami, well I have someone to speak to I'll be back," Neuro filled in, smiling insincerely at Ayako. He briefly glanced back at the bedridden girl before walking out the door.
"I have more duties to attend to as well, take care," Richard added glancing at his pocket where an unopened letter sat. As he closed the door and walked away he didn't notice the man behind a pillar to watching him.
"Hey! How's your so called 'exorcism' going?" Mr. Matsuyama called out to Mai as she was walking back to base with Angel.
"I heard another fire broke out. So, you can't perform that exorcism or whatever, Huh? I knew from the start there weren't any ghosts. It's all been just a big fabrication. THIS KINGDOM JUST SCAMS PEOPLE FOR MONEY, DOESN'T IT?!" The man shouted causing Mai to grip the clipboard tighter while Angel started hissing at him.
"I'm sorry I'm working right now. Please direct all complaints to management. Excuse me!" Mai said politely with a quick bow while Angel continued to glare at the man.
rattle
"Only people who cling on to stupid superstitions believe in ghosts…isn't that right? ANSWER ME!" Mai continued ignoring the man's words only for his next sentence to stop Mai in her tracks.
"Like the idiots who work here. The ones who'll cling to the occult to the end of their miserable lives! Just like Sakauchi. What? You didn't know about him? Why doesn't that surprise? That fool believed in the spirit world, too!"
rattle rattle
"In other words, sir, you're not sorry Sakauchi's dead?" Mai asked quietly while Angel slowly stalked towards the man, a glint of murder in his eyes.
"What! Who told you that?!"
"Well, that's exactly what it sounds like you're saying!" Mai exclaimed bristling as she took a step toward the man.
Rattle
KYAAAAAAAAAAA
"Wha- what was that?" Matsuyama asked only to watch as Mai and Angel turned and dashed toward the scream.
"Hey, Mai!" Bou-san shouted running to where he saw Mai, about to open a door.
"What happened?" Gene asked right behind Monk, followed by Naru.
"No idea I just got here too," Mai replied opening the door. She took a step back in shock and bumped into Naru at what she saw.
In the middle of the room, between all the torn-up furniture stood a gigantic hound. The demonic beast snarled snapping a desk in two between it's jaws. It towered over the cowering workers in the room releasing a dark miasma. The beast whipped its head releasing parts of the desk at the workers.
Growling it took a step towards the door
"Mai!" Naru yelled pulling her towards him as Monk stepped in front of the two. Angel took a defensive position in front of Gene. Bou-san, Angel and the hound stared at each other then with a final pant the dog…
Disappeared
"Mr. Matsuyama could you please call a doctor? Some workers have been hurt," Naru commanded, gesturing to the young man who had part of the desk whipped at his arm.
"Uh, Okay," Mr. Matsuyama replied still in shock.
"So that was the same dog as before, right?" Bou-san pondered aloud holding a hand up to his mouth in thought.
"I think so, but it was much bigger and much stronger too," Mai replied as the only other person in their group that had seen the dog before.
GASP
"Gene!? What's the ma-" before Mai could finish she staggered. When she opened her eyes again she saw the will o wisps all around the mansion.
As well as a dark entity.
Mai watched in despair as the darkness used it's tendrils to consume the nearby will o wisps. One in particular took on the shape of a human and screamed as he was slowly consumed.
'Sakauchi' Mai realised covering her mouth in horror as Sakuachi despite his struggles was overwhelmed leaving nothing left.
The dark entity pulsed and grew bigger, it moved around before letting out an ear-piercing shriek.
Mai covered her ears and squeezed her eyes shut in fear.
"hey – HEY! Are you okay," Mai heard causing her to open her eyes and see Monk, Angel, Gene and Naru around her. Bou-san was standing hands on his knees as he bent over to ask Mai if she was alright. Naru was holding Gene who was also crouched down and nearly in tears. Angel, when Gene untucked himself, climbed into the boy's lap to brush away his tears with his paws.
"Gene… did you see it too?" Mai stuttered, Gene nodded in response oddly quiet.
"Sakuachi he vanished,"
"You have to make another trip back? You left early morning to get here by the afternoon and Naru wants you back by this evening, why don't you just stay there?! What kind of slave worker is he?!" Ayako screeched as she, John and Masako walked to the stables during Ayako's somewhat late lunch break.
"It means his highness trusts us doesn't it? He does need a replacement for the camera we doused in water," John placated Ayako who was mad for their sake. Masako simply sighed having had to talk to several people in the short time John and she were at the castle, leaving the departure preparations to the priest. The two horses were tied together so that one could carry the camera while the other could lead while carrying the priest and medium.
In the stall over Chesnut woke up with a startled noise catching the attention of the three people in the stables. The horse continuously made distressed neighs and body slammed itself into the gate. John went over to try to calm the horse down. Chesnut did slow down his movements becoming more cautious but continued to thrash around, soon he managed to unlock the gate. Once he did that he dashed to Ayako got her onto his back and speed away. Masako and John watched in shock for a second as Ayako's screams faded in the distance. They then immediately untied the horse with the camera and chased after the doctor.
Monk entered base carrying Gene with Naru, Mai and Angel trailing behind. Once they entered the room Lin quickly grabbed a chair for Bou-san to gently deposit Gene in. Mai went to make tea for everyone glancing back every so often at Gene while Naru grabbed another chair and seated himself beside his twin. Ai gave questioning looks to Monk and Angel settled himself into Gene's lap.
"I was channeling Mai's vision. The spirits were devouring one another. They… swallowed Sakuachi," Gene described to the group. The others gazed at him in sympathy while Angel hopped on to the boy's shoulder and started rubbing his face.
"So, an expelled spirit is not an exorcised spirit, it has merely 'escaped' to another place. What's the difference between a spirit that devours and one that is itself devoured?" Bou-san asked everyone hypothetically.
"The spirit that devours grows more powerful, right?" Ai replied nonetheless.
"Let's assume I was having a vision of things to come. If this were to continue…and in the end only one spirit remained… who knows what form it would take?" Gene added after nodding in agreement with Ai.
"What do we do Naru?" Bou-san asked arms crossed to the prince sitting with his injured hand resting on the other.
"We should probably wait on the exorcism. What would happen if the spirit were to escape?" Naru replied as Mai handed him his tea. She then proceeded to go around the room, leaving Gene for last so she could pull up another chair and sit across from the two princes.
"Ah may I interrupt? I've got something you might be interested in" Yasu asked opening the door to base. He threw a concerned look when he noticed how pale Gene was. The medium threw a weary smile back absentmindedly stroking Angel causing the boy to frown even more and sharpen his gaze.
"What's that?" Mai asked pointing to the material in Yasu's hands. This distracted the boy from Gene as he started to explain the papers in his hands. Gene mouthed a quiet thank you to Mai while she gave a small thumbs up in return.
"I tried to trace the origin of Orikiri-sama at this mansion and after discussing it yesterday with you I learned that it appeared about a year ago. There are two ways I think it could have gotten here. Either a new worker summoned it, or it was one of the merchants that stop by here and so it dawned on me that the late Sakuachi interacted with the merchants the most. Now of course, there's no reason to think that means anything. After all, it's just one piece of the puzzle it could mean something or nothing at all. Anyways it was less than a year ago that it began spreading. It could use any number of means of possession to spread,"
"So the summoned spirit…obviously it's strange but…even with the many means of possession it has at hand, there's no rhyme or reason to it's ways and I can't figure out why this place in particular has attracted so many spirits. Could it be connected to a burial ground?" Naru pondered aloud taking a sip of tea.
"Well that would make sense," Monk said with a sigh.
"Ah! I'm such an idiot! I didn't just discover one grave. The Ryokuryou ruins was once an entire cemetery!" Yasu exclaimed slapping his forehead strongly.
"Of course! The site of an ancient cemetery is bounded by Kekkai, so spirits are cursed to aimlessly wander in it. Normally, spirits can't escape because of Kekkai, but this is one way it could," Gene yelled out, startling Angel who fell off his lap. The cat walked up to Gene's feet and gave him an the most unimpressed stare. In response Gene chuckled nervously and quietly bent down to apologize while Mai giggled.
"A student could- in theory, anyway – summon a spirit out. So that's the key to this mystery," Bou-san finished happily.
"Oh, that makes sense," Mai said putting a finger to her chin.
"We didn't know that about the mansion, thank you," Naru said gesturing for Yasu to give the notes to Lin.
"Shall I get the maids to make us dinner?" Ai asked the group noting that the sun had just finished setting out the window.
"Sounds like a good idea to me, I'm pretty hungry. Lin you've been working all day you should join us," Gene replied holding on to his grumbling stomach, Monk nodded his head along in agreement. Lin who had been ignoring the group also nodded and followed the other three out the door.
"Hey, Mai want to eat somewhere else there's this lovely garden nearby with fireflies, around this ti-"
"Mai, go pick a tape from one of the cameras, it's in the medical storage room. Do you need someone to go with you?" Naru instructed pulling her away from Yasu and showing her which room she had to go pick up the tape from. Yasu just chuckled and ran to catch up to the others while Angel rolled his eyes.
"No, I should be okay. Besides Angel will protect me won't you boy?" Mai replied while looking down to her cat who rubbed her leg in response.
Mai used her candle to light the path as she nervously walked through the darkened corridor. When she entered the room with the camera she turned on the oil lamps to see where the it was. Once she spotted it she removed the tape, only to pause when Angel started tugging at her sock.
WHOOOSH
Both the oil lamps and Mai's candle extinguished causing the girl to gasp. She followed Angel's advice and immediately walked to the door, she pulled on the handle to get out
But the door wouldn't budge
'Is the door jammed' Mai thought pulling harder causing the door to rattle.
"Hey what's going on?! It doesn't even have a lock!" Mai exclaimed starting to panic, Angels' hair started to stand on end as he turned away from the door in front of Mai.
Hee hee hee hee
At the sound of giggling Mai froze and slowly looked over her shoulder to see the silhouettes of several children just outside the window. Mai jumped back in shock hitting the door as the children continued to laugh.
KLINK KLINK KLINK
KLATTER KLATTER KLATTER
CRASH
"KYAAAAAAAAAA," Mai screamed closing her eyes and covering her ears. She heard a dripping noise and that's when the smell hit her. Angel yowled as he moved to the door Mai distracted by the crashing sounds didn't notice as Angel's eyes glowed blue.
"NO, OH NO! NOT AGAIN, SOMEBODY, GET ME OUT! HELP ME!" Mai shouted banging her fists on the door.
"Somebody… help me…" were her last words as she passed out.
'No, I'm not losing anyone else! Hold on Mai,' Angel thought frantically as he dashed through the halls.
"Miss Matsuzaki, what are you doing here?" Gene asked noticing a very worn out Ayako, John and Masako resting around a table.
"Don't ask," Ayako glared at him looking menacing enough that even Monk didn't want to tease her. Instead the man went to go make tea for her and the others while Gene, Yasu and Lin and went to take a seat. Ai went over to the kitchen to ask for dinner but quickly rejoined the group Naru entering right after her.
"Where's Mai?" Masako asked while John looked out the window where they could still see Chesnut pacing around the building strangly tense for a horse. Ai noticing his gaze raised a brow at the priest who glanced and Ayako and subtlety shook his head.
"She'll be here in a moment," Naru answered causing Yasu to stifle a laugh. Gene looked over to him in confusion while Yasu mouthed later.
"Naru what happened to your hand?" Ayako asked less irritated when she noticed the prince was injured.
"I broke a cup," Naru replied stoically glaring at the rest of them room as if daring them to say anything. Lin and Masako rolled their eyes but otherwise remained quiet as the others did their best to hide their snickers. Ayako stared at them all in bemusement before deciding to settle down again.
"Hey, do you guys hear something?" Bou-san asked suddenly looking up. When the others listened closely they heard the quick pattering of footsteps on hardwood floors. Just as John was getting up to check the noise Angel came careening through the doorway.
"Something's wrong," Gene realized seeing the exhausted feline. Naru's eyes widened in both realization and dread when he couldn't hear Mai's footsteps chasing after her way ward cat. He dashed out of the room while the others went to follow him, Gene only pausing briefly to scoop up Angel.
"Naru! What's going on?!" Bou-san shouted running side by side with the prince who only shook his head and pointed down the hallway to the last door which was slightly open. Picking up the pace the monk passed him and fully opened the door.
"Mai?" Masako whimpered staring in horror as the girl hung limply from Monk's arms once he stepped out of the room. Ai being quick investigated the room Mai was trapped in and noticed the smell recognizing it she told Ayako what Mai had been exposed to.
"Take her to the infirmary immediately," Ayako ordered with the others quickly following her.
In the centre of darkness was the still form of a Mai. She was on her knees and looked around her in confusion. As she pondered on this she noticed a white wisp pass through her foot. As it passed by Mai noticed in front of her was the dark entity it grabbed on to the wisp and devoured it just like Sakuachi.
WHOOSH
In the next moment Mai found herself in a room, the only thing of interest would be the bookshelf completely filled with books on the paranormal.
'This room feels lonely, it feels like a room someone returned to after abandoning it a long time ago' Mai thought approaching the desk in the room. Looking down she noticed a travel pass on the table she picked it up to figure out who's room she was in.
Tomoaki Sakauchi it read
'So, this is his room' Mai thought gaining a new perspective on the room. Her tears dripped onto the pass. Covering her face, she apologized over and over again to the pass.
"…mm…maaa…mai…MAI…MAI!" Someone yelled causing Mai to open her eyes.
"You're finally coming to?" Naru asked inches from her face. Mai sat up quickly with a shocked yell, hitting Naru who had not moved back quickly enough. The two rubbed their heads while Mai also started wobbling from dizziness.
"I fiiwl howwible," Mai commented.
"Then just lie still for a while, silly," Naru responded with a sigh, sitting back down on the side of her bed.
"Don't you… OWWWEEEE!?" Mai yelled falling back when her headache hit it's peak.
"Hey, take it easy,"
"Ayako," Mai said the name surprised and then she looked around the room and noticed the others resting on the other bed. Yasu who lounged on the bed leaning against the headrest waved and asked how she was. Standing on the other side of the headrest was Gene who shot a grin towards her. Monk was seated at the edge of the bed and did a small salute while John who was seated beside him smiled in relief. Ai standing by the bed the others were in shot Mai a smirk, while Masako, who Mai just realized sat on the opposite side of Naru, replaced the cloth on her head. Angel who was in Masako's lap started to weakly purr at Mai. Lin was the only one still working back in base since not everyone could go and visit Mai.
"Why were you wondering the mansion alone?" Ayako scolded crossing her arms and glaring at Mai.
"Well… The video tape…"
"HUH? The tape?" Ayako interrupted her before she could continue, Ayako then swiveled her head to Naru.
"What do you have to say for yourself, Naru? No one should go out alone!" Ayako ranted towards the prince who had his back to her. Yasu rubbed the back of his head also feeling a bit guilty for leaving Mai alone. John comforted Yasu with a pat on the shoulder and a couple words, while Gene ruffled Yasu's hair. Thankful, Yasu gave the two of them a small smile.
"Tell us what happened," Masako said to Mai as she tucked her underneath the covers. Mai explained the events to them.
"Children's spirits huh. Masako are they still around?" Ayako asked bringing a hand to her face in thought.
"No, I think they're gone," Masako replied looking over her shoulder to Ayako.
"Sheesh why didn't you use the counter spell?" Bou-san asked exhausted rubbing his temple with his left hand.
"I forgot," Mai blushed bringing the sheets up to cover her face.
"You have an impressive cat now Mai, he was the one that brought you to our attention. Not to mention the only reason Miss Matsuzaki is here seems to be your new horse I think I can still him pacing around the building too," Ai smiled gesturing to the window and Angel who Masako had placed beside Mai's head. Mai peaked out from under the covers to smile at her cat while also trying wave towards her horse. Angel snorted when he figured out what 'Chestnut' must have done based on Ai's statement and Ayako's dark expression.
"Well no harm no foul. We must get back to business. Miss Matsuzaki, could you please watch over her?" Naru sighed walking towards the doorway but taking a glance back at Mai before leaving.
"Fine but at least let me fix your bandages," Ayako replied terse in a no nonsense tone. Naru silently walked back and held out the injured hand for her to re-wrap once finished the others followed Naru out the door.
"Still woozy? You should get more rest" Ayako comforted resting her hand on Mai's forehead, before she could pull it away Mai grabbed her sleeve.
"What's wrong?" Ayako asked.
"Could you stay?" Mai asked innocently pointing her doe eyes in Ayako's direction.
"I'll be right here. Now, good night," Ayako replied after a moment of silence giving one last pat to Mai's head before pulling up a chair to rest on.
"Ah Richard, have you noticed a lot of people falling sick?" Mrs. Uchida asked the butler when he entered the room.
"I have, it's certainly strange," Richard replied with a smile as he busied himself preparing tea.
"It's a good thing it's nothing serious, otherwise those poor dears would miss the ball," Mrs. Uchida continued her gaze tracing Richards movements from across the room.
"Yes, it is Madam, I have recently received a letter-"
"Quiet, this is sensitive information after all,"
"Surely you don't mean-"
"I do," She answered with a tone of finality in her voice.
"I don't agree with this," Richard said slowly as he handed her the tea.
"Yes, well that is unfortunate you're free to ignore my wishes if you want. The door is that way," Miss Uchida smiled pleasantly towards the man. Richards gritted his teeth but shook his head asking her if there was anything else she needed.
"Burn the letter when you've got the time, seems you've been out helping the castle it's certainly good for future experience," Mrs. Uchida laughed while Richard tensely nodded and marched out of the room.
Neither noticing that their entire exchange had been watched.
Opening her eyes Mai could see a shrine in front of her.
"Mom are you here?" Mai called out.
"Sweetie you've got to leave, it's extremely dangerous here. Wake up and get out," Her mother replied frantically.
"Wake up? You mean get out of the worker's rest station?" Mai asked. At that moment a loud heartbeat was heard. Turning their heads, they saw at the centre of the mansion was a large, glowing entity.
"Is that a phantom light?" Mai asked hesitantly.
"That's right, it's still sleeping but it must have devoured enough human souls to grow; soon it will hatch and when it does no one will be able to stop it," Arisu replied ominously hugging her daughter to her chest as the two looked at the light.
"There are four of them here. There's even one in the workers rest station. It would be smart to get out while you still can, wouldn't it?" She added calming herself down by rubbing Mai's hair. The girl didn't mind instead she leaned back into the touch while glancing up at her mother worriedly.
"Right," Mai replied, when she noticed below her was Yasu and John walking through a hallway. Yasu was suggesting they check out the next room which hosted one of the phantom lights.
"No way! One of those things is in there, too? I've got to warn them! I'm going back!" Mai shouted breaking away from her mother's embrace and running off.
"Good watch yourself," Arisu quietly replied to the empty space.
Mai blinked open her eyes once again. Quickly sitting up and unintentionally flinging the cloth on her forehead a couple feet away.
"Mai?!" Ayako exclaimed in shock just barely managing to catch Mai in time when the girl staggered from getting up too quickly. Angel who had just been sleeping slowly woke up to look at Mai in concern.
"Hey! what are you doing, you idiot?!" Ayako yelled as the girl groaned.
"Ayako! The first floor. It's in the print shop!" Mai yelled pulling on Ayako's sleeve.
"Huh?"
"John and Yasu are there! They're in danger! We've gotta warn them," Mai said frantically.
"But I can't leave you alone," Ayako argued with Angel tiredly nodding his head along to what Ayako was saying.
"I'm okay! Monk taught me the counter spell, I mostly remember it," Mai countered.
"Mostly? I see, well remember these as well," Ayako told her the nine words.
"I have to wave my hand too?" Mai asked mimicking Ayako's hand movements.
"Yes! Chant them after you do the counter spell. I'll be back as soon as I can," Ayako yelled as she ran out the door.
'Wooo ugh, I got to get better fast!' Mai thought as she rested her arm on her forehead.
SWOOSH
'It's here. What kind of spirit is it this time?' Mai pondered looking over to the bed beside her, Angel tried to get up but only barely managed to get in front of Mai. The bed next to theirs contained a dark figure hidden by the covers. Mai immediately pulled back the covers and sat up only to be surprised when the dark figure mimicked her. Mai gulped but moved her hands into the counter spell position. Once she finished the chant the figure took on a less humanoid shape, but Mai did not pause going straight to the nine cuts Ayako showed her.
BAM
Before she could finish she and Angel were knocked across the room hitting the wall. Mai coughed in pain before looking up and noticing the dark figure was gone. As she staggered into an upright position her hand on the wall for support she noticed the temperature dropping. Picking up the unconscious cat and unsure where the figure went, she cautiously shuffled to the door keeping an eye on the room. Just as she was about to open the door…
BAM BAM BAM
'Wha-'
WHOOOSH
Hitting the floor Mai was too weak to make a sound but managed to roll over and check on Angel who seemed to be okay. After a moment to contemplate why this was happening to her Mai reached her hand out to find the door she was in front of. Only when she reached back all she felt was stone.
The door was gone.
"Ho- how did – how did this happen?! Wha? The door! where is it? Where's-" Mai only stopped her panicking when she glanced up and saw the floor she was previously standing on had collapsed. Staring dumbfounded at the sight she heard squeaking and started to turn her head to the noise.
'A mouse?' Mai thought with some relief though she instinctively clutched Angel closer to her chest.
SCRATCH SQUEEK squeak scratch scratch
'That's no mouse, it's nothing like a mouse. It's something else completely. What if it comes this way? If it does'
"NOOOOO" Mai cut off her own thoughts with a hysterical scream closing her eyes to block out the surroundings.
"MAI?!"
"Naru!" Mai called when she saw it was the prince who opened the door.
"The floor… what happened?" He asked bending down to pull Mai up.
"I wish I knew! There was this big noise and before I knew it-
BRRRK BWRSSK
A crack was slowly appearing on the ceiling.
BRAAAK
Mai and Naru stared at each other in shock for a brief second before…
KRAAAK
"NARU!"
And we're done it's like 1:30 AM but the chapters done
I also realized that the line breaks didn't appear in the last chapter or this one so I fixed it (I think) and it is now 2 AM.
Neuro Nougami and Yako Katsuragi are from Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro and as far as references go that's it.
All reviews and criticisms are welcome thanks for reading but here's some questions to think on till I get another chapter out.
How'd Chesnut know to get Ayako to the manor?
What are Mrs. Uchida and Richards up to?
Who was watching them?
How'd Ai recognize what Mai was affected with?
Have fun guys and good night.
