"Whoa. Who the heck did I get into?" Conner shook his head in shock. Then he grinned mischievously. "That's what she said." He laughed.
Nico, not amused, gave him a death glare. "No. Not about my sister. Just no."
"Sorry…" Conner mumbled.
Nico shrugged.
"So…back to the point, do we know why Alice is trying to learn magic?" Thalia asked.
"No. All I know is that Hecate is trying to start another war with the Gods. She's got an army…Demigods, monsters, titans, other gods…It's gonna be a nasty war." Nico said gloomily.
"Lovely." Annabeth groaned.
"And you think Alice is involved on her side?" Thalia looked at him in shock.
"I don't know. I don't think so…I hope she isn't." Nico said.
They all looked solemnly at the picnic table.
"So, when is this war going to happen?" Conner broke the silence.
"We don't know, but we've rigged all of Olympus with traps and ambush devices everywhere. We've got an invisible electric trip wire on the steps to Olympus, that will set off a huge explosion of Greek Fire when it's tripped over, the doors are enchanted to keep any traitors out, There are sinkholes all over the grounds, and the elevators been cut off, so it will feel and look like it's moving, when it's really not. Gives us time to get stuff together as defense." Nico explained all of their thought out traps.
I shrugged. It wasn't that clever. But I'm sure Hecate would be happy to hear about it nonetheless.
"Nice." Conner nodded.
"In the meantime, I need all of us to try and get a little closer to her. If she is with Hecate, we need to get her back on our side." Nico stood up. "Alright?"
"Yeah, but we're kinda on 'not speaking' and 'bitter' terms right now." Conner scowled at his feet.
"Excuse me?" Nico raised his eyebrows.
"Well, out of the blue, she comes into my cabin, says we need to have a chat and is like 'Conner, I don't love you, and I never have. I used you. I just wanted to get out of the Underworld. But don't worry…you'll be a great memory. And I got angry, and said I never loved her, and that she meant nothing to me, and that she was merely a trophy to me." Conner mumbled.
"You did what?" Nico hissed.
"Hey, she started it!" Conner defended himself. Or tried to.
"Well look who went back in time, and turned 6 again." Thalia snorted.
"Shut up!" Conner scowled.
"Whatever. Don't talk to her then. You don't really count." Nico rolled his eyes irritably.
"Whatever." Conner muttered, brushing past Nico, back towards the camp.
"You guys will try and get closer right?" he asked Annabeth and Thalia.
"Duh." Thalia said, walking off. Annabeth nodded at Nico, and followed Thalia.
I watched Nico for a minute, and walked off.
"Alice, why are you so difficult?" he said. I jumped, startled, and realized he was just talking to himself, and continued walking off.
