Chapter 26
Insults were thrown back and forward like bullets ricocheting off the walls or a young child on a sugar rush and the dragon's head kept snapping back and forward. Her amber eyes had settled on Jay's figure and she made sure not to lose him out of her sight but she also had to keep a careful watch over the other's as well. She loved them all as family and friends.
There was Kai, her protective friend who does kind of feel like a brother. Sure she was mad at him because he didn't tell her but deep down, he's part of her family.
Cole, they haven't talked much but Nya don't know whereas to find someone like him. Big, tall and buff with nothing to fear of… except dragons. And he can't cook which is alright with Nya because it's not really an important skill.
But Zane is an amazing cook. Finding out he was a robot shocked her for a bit but he's a great guy even though he doesn't talk to the others and her a lot but she can tell that he's a sensitive and sweet guy.
Lloyd could be described as her younger brother. He's playful like a puppy or a young child (even though he mentally is) and he had always been kind to her.
Then there's Jay. Every time he touches her, a nerve spikes up. His eyes, she could just get lost in them and stare at them forever. Everything he does is perfect to her and he's the only one that can make her truly smile even in her bluest days.
She didn't want to lose them but this is a battle, she is bound to lose at least one or maybe herself. If she dies she knows that Ninjago will fall and the others. The Stone army will take victory and take over Ninjago and destroy everything in their path.
Suddenly, she saw Jay ran across the field, running at least 20km per hour and he went past Lloyd and took the bomb off the green ninja. Nya held onto the trunk on the tree biting on her bottom lip. She continued watching as Jay ran to a vine and ran in a straight line to get enough momentum to swing around. Meanwhile, Kai was making it angry and the holes-in-the-wings dragon blew out fire. Luckily, Kai dodge and the bomb went in when the fire died down to the back of its throat. Jay swing and jumped off the vine and tumbled violently in the greenery while Kai grabbed Lloyd's arm and hauled him off the field and Zane and Cole were already off. She closed her eyes. She could imagine dragon guts and blood all over the place. And then the boom went off.
The sound soars through the sky, once again deafening Nya's ear for a second. The wave of energy from the explosive came at her and pushed her out of the tree and into a bundle of mushrooms luckily. She opened her eyes and saw ashes flying down. No blood or guts, just ashes falling like snow. Except this is black, not white. Black, dark and eerie like this island.
"We did it!" She heard Lloyd yelled. She smiled but deep inside she was still scared. Would the warriors jump out and attack them? And what about the others they couldn't have knocked out unconscious could they? She got up slowly and limped her way to the field. The weight on her bad ankle soared up in pain and she nearly collapse but she needs to remain strong. If Jay and Kai can heal quickly, why can't she? Almost hopping now, she arrived at the field and Lloyd walked towards her with Kai. Soon Zane and Cole appeared. Now it was just a certain blue ninja missing. Her heart leapt at the fear in her chest.
"Where's Jay?" She asked, her voice trembling with fear. She looked around but she saw her blue ninja emerging from the bushes.
"Now what?" Cole asked but she did not answer. It was 2 words and that sent her mind to turn into a pool, a pool filled with questions. Will the stone army attack? Will Garmadon? Another dragon perhaps or did they win?
"No! It can't be!"
"Well that answers it." She heard Jay grumbled and she turned her head to see Garmadon, obliviously furious. Even with his dark skin, you could see it turn red of perhaps embarrassment because his secret weapon had failed when he had hoped it could kill the ninja or because he's angry because… he's weapon failed.
"Stone army, attack again!"
"What! That's no fair!" Kai shouted but from the forest, figures of stone with colors of red and black with glowing green eyes appeared, surrounding them. Her fingers went to wrapped the arrow behind her back and her other hand held the bow tightly. With swift movement, she loaded a bow with grace and released it, the arrow whizzing through the air towards Garmadon who was standing at least 300 meters away. His eyes were alarmed and he stepped to the side quickly and the arrow went past him. Now that had definitely enraged him.
"Leave the princess for me!" His voice was filled with hatred and cold, bitter metal. What had she just done? Cries of war came from the warriors and her teammates were exhausted. She clearly has no more pieces to move in this chess game, they were checked mate. She felt the cool fingers of Jay's hand wiggle into her's.
"I'll protect you with my life. I'll make sure Garmadon won't hurt you." She frowned upon hearing this. She doesn't want anybody putting their lives for her. She doesn't want to see them die in front of her every eye.
"No, we need to win this fairly." She declared and she looked to Garmadon who was charging at her from the top of the mountain of dirt. Then the empty field was now covered with black and red dots if you looked from it from up above. The sounds of clashing metals were loud and Lloyd, Kai, Zane, Jay and Cole did their best to defend themselves while protecting Nya. But Garmadon was getting closer. The stone warriors parted, letting Garmadon walk through with ease as he held his sword in his hand tightly that his black knuckles surprisingly turned white. She slipped between Jay and Zane and walked towards Garmadon... well it's more of a limp but she placed her bow back onto her back and she took out her sword. When she heard the roaring cry escape from Garmadon's mouth, she knew that this is the final battle and this may even be the end of her life.
I know it's a cliff hanger and I'm sorry everyone but maybe the next chapter will be the end but they'll be blood and gore. But there won't be any deaths! Except for the stone warriors. Leave a review please! ;)
