This part doesn't really further the storyline that much, but there is some important information provided. Also, thank you for the support, it is this support (and especially through reviews) that keeps me motivated for this fic, I tend to judge update schedules based on reviews received, so thanks for keeping me so motivated recently.

Part 25

It had only been about an hour before Kurt was informed that Blaine's wing, wing had been finished and was shown the two cats that Blaine owned. What did this all mean? First the Night Bird logo and now this? It had been another hour until they were able to move Blaine into what looked like a 90s style bedroom.

Apparently the two of them had been given five rooms in the east wing, a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and two storage rooms. They weren't exactly big, but at least it seemed somewhere safe…underground…running on a timeline that Kurt knew…absolutely nothing about.

Blaine had been given an inventory check of what they had moved here and it seemed to hold more sentimental items than items of high value, well the vault that they had brought in contained some very valuable items, Kurt had checked. There were also two other vaults, but these had layers and rows of data cards.

Kurt wasn't sure what the meaning of all of these were.

As Blaine woke up, still in a full body cast due to the damage in his spine, Kurt turned his attention towards the love of his life. "You're awake," he commented as if someone might miss it otherwise, "I managed to double check the list and everything is here, I don't know why they did that, or where we are, or even how they did all of this."

Blaine took a deep breath in, "It's…because…"

Kurt turned to face the curly haired doctor, he walked forward, kneeling opposite him because he knew Blaine had a hard time moving (but Kurt wasn't sure how hard) and grasped his hand. He felt Blaine's fingers wrap around his, at least his husband could do that. "No matter what it is, no matter what you've done, I'm here with you and I love you."

Blaine took another breath in, "Not only can I use machines to detect a chip, I can also cause a chip to malfunction, I've even found a way of not even having to enter a person's head for their chip to malfunction." He stared down at his own wrist. He had avoided talking about this at the restaurant, maybe now it would be a better time.

"Although it might sound bizarre to you, as a doctor I am required to know different programming for the chips and, since I like to extend my knowledge about whatever I'm working on, I know the coding on the level of most technicians. Of course there is still a small part of the chip in my wrist which will alert me to danger, but it also allows me to detect power chips, intelligence chips, and attack chips, only the higher grade ones. If I act according to the messages I have the ability to defend myself, and others, by causing a malfunction to one of those chips."

Kurt nodded slowly, he took a deep breath in, "So…you killed someone?"

Blaine bit his top lip, "I managed to run a system that destroyed the chips of those abusing others all at once. Most people were either nauseous or had actual problems with their brains connective wave patterns, the majority of those individuals have been cured and I have set up grants to help with that treatment. Still, for those who had more than three highly charged chips in their heads, they died. I did murder them, me and some of the other people you might meet in this house."

Kurt took a deep breath in, he looked down at his hands, "Did you…purposefully try to kill them?"

There was silence.

Blaine then took a deep exhale and replied honestly, "No, I did have some pause on the issue, I was certain that the way it was being discussed by the other leaders of the people's equality alliance, that it might have done more than I could envision. I did it however because there were people being tortured in camps, innocent blood being spilled onto the streets, and people believing that they were lords and masters over others."

Kurt nodded again, he could see the regret on his husband's face. He actually didn't feel the same regret, he knew that he hated fighting and aggression, he had always been someone to do most of the fighting with sassy comebacks, but right now he saw the bigger picture Blaine had faced. He would have done the same thing as his husband, actually, he would have most likely agreed to it more quickly.

"I saw your Nightbird logo when Trent brought me down here," Kurt said as Blaine looked away, "Do you think you're Batman or something?"

Blaine sighed, he looked away, "Not really. During the last fight, I did bring my Night Bird costume out after I was locked away in the camp, to help others. This isn't a secret lair though, it's a very very exclusive sector of the city that I helped to build. We really only let the most heroic people down here, people who have made some major contribution into saving the lives of others, or…at least them and their families."

Blaine smiled up at Kurt at that point as the brunette nodded, he wanted to show Blaine that he understood.

"I spent a lot of time researching what I have and this has led to the idea that I have an intelligence chip in my brain, but everything I know, I have worked hard to learn. I am just so angry that I am in this state. I still wanted to help so many others," Blaine sighed.

Kurt looked around at this time. "Train me," he requested.

Blaine frowned, he shook his head, "It's too dangerous for you to go out there and fight, the rebellion might be shorter lived this time. I don't want you getting hurt."

Kurt sighed. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath in…he counted to ten…he let it out…he repeated the action…five…more…times. "I won't be leaving like this, my body and my mind have to be stronger, but you say that you don't want for me to get hurt, do you even understand how difficult it is to watch you get hurt."

He looked at Blaine, "Tell me what I need to do to protect the people who are not allowed down here."

Blaine shook his head, "The complications and the types of pain that —-"

Kurt stared forwards, he didn't blink. "You can tell me what I can do, but I have to do something. Turn me into someone who can do something, make me a person who can help as many others as you did."

Blaine blinked confused, "Why? Kurt, you know you'd be safer here, your intelligence and confidence is enough to get people to consider real change…"

"That's great," Kurt nodded, but only a weaker smile showed on his face. He stood up, a fire burning in his eyes, "but I am never ever EVER going to let another person hurt my husband, Blaine Devon Hummel-Anderson again."
