Chapter 26: Life isn't a Fairy Tale

...

Juvia paced back and fourth in the hideout. She had broken up with Gray that morning and surprisingly he shrugged it off with an okay and hung up. She was actually relieved. Juvia wanted to talk to someone. She wanted to let them know her troubles and see if they could help her. But they all seemed busy. Lucy was currently talking to Natsu, Erza was reading a magazine, and Gray was nowhere to be seen. "Hey guys! Why are you here so early?" Mira asked as she entered with Laxus, Freed, Cana, and Hibiki behind her.

Juvia ignored her and continued pacing back and fourth. The five people that just entered sighed in confusion and shrug it off as they went into the kitchen. The door once again opened and Lyon came in. Juvia quickly ran up to him and breathed in and out trying to calm herself down. Just as she was about to say something she closed her mouth. She tried once again but the words just wouldn't come out. "Ju-Juv-ia..." she shuddered.

Lyon raised an eyebrow, "What is it?"

"Ju-Juv-ia wants to sa-y th-at sh-she..."

Just as Juvia was going to blurt it out, Lyon's phone rang. "I'm sorry. Could you give me a minute?" Juvia nodded sadly.

"Hello?"

"Hey baby! Would you care to go on a date with me? It would show me your love!"

"Sherry? Look...I'm busy right now. I have important things to deal with."

"What could be more important then me?!" Lyon could hear the hurt in her voice.

"Please. I'll call you back."

"Fine."

Lyon hung up and turned around to look at Juvia. "You were saying?"

"Nothing. Juvia was just going to say something stupid. No worries." Lyon nodded.

Lucy looked at Lyon with a face that said, 'Aren't you going to call Sherry?' Lyon shook his head. He didn't want to deal with her right now.

...Three Hours Later...

It was afternoon and the sky was still gloomy. It was January after all. It would be gloomy. Lyon sighed. Everyone was doing something to try and pass the time. Sadly, they were bored to death. He pulled out his phone and dialed Sherry's number. He didn't want her getting suspicious. If she were to get suspicious, she'd most defiantly look for him. Lyon waited for her to pick up. Just as he was about to hang up, someone answered.

"Hello? Who's this?"

"Funny. I was about to ask the same thing." Lyon answered.

"My name is Ren. Who are you?"

"Lyon. Are you Sherry's friend or something?"

"No."

"Then are you a family member? Anyway...can I talk to her?"

"No. I'm her boyfriend. And she's busy right now." Lyon was speechless. Millions of thoughts ran through his mind at that moment. Lucky, Ren was there to snap him out of it, "Dude...are you still there? And since you asked me what are you? Sherry's friend?"

Lyon shook his head and answered, "Yeah. I'm still here. And I'm her bo—I'm her friend. Yeah. I'm her friend Lyon. Sorry for bothering you. Nice talking to you..."

Lyon hung up and threw his phone to the ground. He buried his face in his hands and sighed. Juvia stood up and embraced him tightly, "Are you alright Lyon?"

"Yeah. Never been better..."

...

Ren looked at the phone and placed it back on the coffee table. "Who was it sweetie?" Sherry asked. Ren looked at her and answered, "Your friend."

"Yeah but which one?"

"I think his name was Lyon."

"M-my friend?" Sherry felt a her insides rip to shreds at the next thing Ren said...

"That's what he said."

...

Gray looked at the phone beside him. He needed the money. And he could only ask one person that was family related to him other then Lyon. "Ultear?"

"Hey Gray! Wow. You call me now?!"

"Yeah...but this is important."

"What do you need?"

"I need money..."

"Gray...are you sure? What if you regret this?"

"Ultear—please." Gray had no problem with Ultear knowing. He did ask her for a suitcase, he did ask her how long was the plane ride to England and she gave and answered truthfully. She did ask if he was sure about this as well. "Fine. But...think about the choice you're making Gray..."

"I already thought about it..."

...Four Years Later...

The years had passed and no one had changed one bit. Sure...their hair grew longer and they got taller, but the hair was no problem. One trip to the salon and you could get it just like you had years ago. The growing up part was something you couldn't stop though. Well duh!

Gray stood in front of the hideout. Such a windy day. As he entered, everybody was going crazy as usual. "But dad! I already told you! I love Hibiki and I don't care if you don't like him!" Cana shouted at the phone.

Her next movement made Gray's problem harder. She threw the phone at the wall and broke down. Hibiki hugged her saying to wait a little longer. Juvia noticed Gray and smiled, "Gray-sama! How have you been?" Gray smiled seeing Juvia and Lyon together. He still remembered that funny day two years ago...

Flashback:

"Happy birthday Juvia!" everyone shouted as Juvia stepped into the hideout. Juvia gasped and smiled. "Thank you!"

...

Everything went amazing. Juvia looked outside and noticed all the couples together. She was seventeen now. Three years ago, she had been through a lot of drama. From meeting Lyon and hating him, to finding out she loved him. A hand landed on her shoulder and Juvia yelped. "It's okay. It's just me." Lyon informed. Juvia smiled and nodded. "Juvia trusts Lyon..."

The two talked in peace. Little did they...they were being spied on. "Lyon...remember when Juvia said she wanted to tell you something two years ago?"

Lyon nodded. He continued looking at the stars. "Well...Juvia wanted to say she...that she..."

"Juvia?"

"Juvia wanted to say that she loves you!" Juvia looked up at Lyon. He was basically a head taller then her. It made her feel nervous. "How is it that you're one step ahead of me?" Lyon asked. Juvia blushed. She knew that was his way of saying I love you too.

Just as they were about to lock lips, Gray jumped in. "Juvia and Lyon sitting on the tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"

"SHUT UP!"

:End of Flashback

"Fine...I need to tell you guys something..." Gray said as he shook the memory out of his head. He looked at the twenty, nineteen, and eighteen year olds as they stared back at him. "I'm moving. And I'm moving tomorrow."

"Yo-you tell us now?" Natsu asked through gritted teeth. "Is that the reason why you've been hiding from us?! IS IT?!" Gray nodded. "That's all I wanted to say. I have to go. I need to finish packing some things..."

Erza walked right past him. Their shoulders bumped harshly and Gray slightly winced. As he turned around to tell Erza something, she had already slammed the door hard, almost breaking the door knob.

"That's why you were saving money?..." Lucy asked quietly.

Gray nodded. "Why?" Lyon asked. Gray looked away from his cousins eyes.

"You can't expect me to stay with you guys forever..."

"But why?"

"Life isn't a fairy tale. This is reality. People come and go."

I am done. Man this hurts! Why would I write a story like this? Why? I don't know. Maybe because life really isn't a fairy tale. I am so glad I didn't spell tale like this; tail. Fairy Tail does that to you. Oh well. Tell me what you think! Like it? Hate it? I don't know. Please review/follow/favorite if you'd like.
