SuperSonicSpeed: I'M HERE! I'M HERE! *trips*

Shadow: *Grabs flash drive from SuperSonicSpeed's hand* I'll handle uploading today.

SuperSonicSpeed: T-thanks... Did I make the deadline?

Shadow: *Rolls eyes* No.

Sonic: Be nice Shadow!

Shadow: Why don't you go get a hose down from ToxicTreacle?

Sonic: ... You're on your own SuperSonicSpeed.

SuperSonicSpeed: ... *falls asleep*

Shadow: She doesn't own us.

Sonic: WAKE UP!

"Let's see... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and... AHA! 7!" Eggman grinned as he tide the bag tightly, "For a second I thought we left one of the Chaos Emeralds behind." He looked at Dash, "But more importantly, I'm getting away with you, the son of that nuisance hedgehog and my prime experiment."

Dash remained silent as he flew next to his master, but the smallest sound he heard was starting to grab his attention. His eyes flickered to the left for a few seconds, but looked ahead when he saw nothing.

"What is it Dash?" Eggman wondered.

The taps Dash heard slowly became a hiss followed by the sound of scratching on the floor. Dash looked back for more than mere seconds and saw a very angry onyx colored hedgehog.

"He's catching up!" Eggman looked panicked when he realized the carrier was going at full speed, 'What do I-,' Eggman felt his back crash against the chair hard, 'Eh? The Eggcarrier is going faster? How?'

He looked back and saw Dash's hands holding the cold metal, 'He's pushing the carrier.'

Dash's rockets were at full blast and he already put some distance between the both of them and Shadow.

"Look out!" Eggman covered his eyes just when they made a sharp turn into a glass hallway. When he didn't feel the crash, he opened them to see schools of fish floating about curiously at the glass. Eggman looked back and saw Shadow had easily made it past the turn. The distance between them was slowly closing,

'We just need to get through here.' Eggman repeated to himself as he saw Shadow getting closer, 'WHY DID I MAKE THIS PART OF THE HALL SO LONG!?' He looked around, 'Oh... That's right... It has a lovely scenery...' Eggman scolded himself.

Shadow scowled, 'I can already feel my body start complaining.' He took a deep breath, 'But I can't stop. Not when I'm so close to them.' He looked ahead and glared, 'An opening. That only means!'

'So long hedgehog.' Eggman grinned as he pressed a small blue button.

Shadow pushed his feet to go faster right when he saw Dash and Eggman go through the already closing door. The floor ahead began to thrust spikes up, causing Shadow to slow down. The door paused, leaving a circular opening. Shadow jumped towards it, but five triangular metal pieces sealed the opening before he was able to make it through. Shadow quickly made a small spin, allowing his feet to take the impact. The spikes had not receded, making Shadow jump and stand on the hand railings. He put his ear to the door.

"Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho! That should keep him entertained, right Dash?" Eggman got off his carrier and started walking around, taking his time to pick out their escape vehicle.

Dash looked around to see once again the glass décor. Steel in a honeycomb formation helped reinforce the massive sphere room that seemed to be the heart of the base. Dash was interrupted when he heard hard core banging on the door.

"Don't worry too much," Eggman walked next to him, "He won't be able to get through that door." He looked above at the various openings, "In fact, he won't be able to get through any of these doors." He snapped his fingers and all the doors began to shut down, "Better to be safe than sorry."

He walked over to a standard machine and took out a deck of cards, "I haven't this thing in a long time." Eggman inserted the deck and pulled the lever, "I just couldn't choose which one to escape in!" The three slots went on and on for seconds until one of them stopped abruptly. The other two stopped just seconds after the next.

"One of my favorites." Eggman grinned as chosen ship was slowly moved to the center, "Looks like we're escaping in luxury." Eggman frowned when he turned and saw Dash was not following him, "You really want to fight him, don't you?" Dash turned to look at Eggman but said nothing, "You'll have your chance after we escape and rebuild my bases."

Dash turned and started to follow Eggman who walked towards a large submarine that held his insignia. The shape resembled a large whale which was decorated with flat window panes all around for spectating. The front was rounded with a large window for steering view and the color was grey instead of the usual red and yellow. The tail held the propellers as well as the fin like shapes on either side of the submarine. The inside held a clean design with chandeliers, chairs, and anything else that could go in a five star hotel. Everything, of course, was made of metal excluding the beds and the only ones that lost the sleek design's were the computer rooms and labs. The pilot area held it's grace with the large throne placed dead center and was surrounded by his robot guards.

Two robots pried the top hatch open.

"Shall we, Dash?" Eggman gestured.

Dash walked over to the opening and jumped onto the massive sub, landing below with a small thud.

Eggman looked at the door that seemed to erupt with louder bangs. He laughed,

"So long pests!" Eggman began to step on the latter holding the bag of emeralds tightly, "Next time you see me, you won't get so luck- OOF!"

Eggman rubbed the side of his cheek after landing a few feet away from the hatch. Towering over him was Shadow the Hedgehog who glared him down,

"Looks like your escape plan isn't going so well doctor." He spoke with a menacing voice.

Eggman felt a loose tooth as he lowered his hand. His glare equal to Shadow's, "You loathsome, degenerate biohog."

He threw a fist towards Shadow who easily dodged it and landed another blow of his own. Eggman gritted his teeth as Shadow grinned.

"Is it so hard for you to admit you lost?" Shadow taunted trying to hide his exhaustion.

"How did you get past those doors?!" Eggman shouted.

Shadow raised the fake emerald and put it in Eggman's line of view.

"But you used all the energy it had in the other room!"

Shadow tossed it into the air, "It's easy after an Echidna reactivates the Chaos Emeralds and allows me to absorb some of the energy from the ones in your bag into the fake Emerald."

Eggman's eyes widened, 'The Emeralds are active!'

Dash appeared behind Shadow after hearing his Master's distress and silently headed towards him.

Eggman looked down, hiding his smile, "I lost... Hm? I... Lost?" He threw his head back and laughed.

Shadow raised an eyebrow began to question the doctors sanity.

"I HAVEN'T LOST YET!" Dash grabbed Shadow's neck and lifted him up in the air.

Shadow instinctively started to pry at the metallic hands that closed his wind pipe.

"Shadow... You've lost." Eggman walked towards him, "You can try to hide your tired eyes as much as you want but I know, from years of experience and watching you," Eggman yanked one of Shadow's quills back, "You're all worn out."

Shadow growled already feeling the effects of suffocation. It was then he took note of where the Emeralds landed. He closed his eyes, 'I know this'll work. It BETTER work.'

Eggman laughed, "Already giving up!?" He smiled, "About time you saw thing from my point of view."

He stopped once he realized what Shadow was really up to. The Emeralds rose surrounding Shadow, making Eggman panic, 'He's going super!' He looked at Dash, "Finish him off already!"

Dash tried to squeeze the vulnerable neck, but was surprised when he realized it wasn't as vulnerable as before. In fact, he felt Shadow's strength rising.

Eggman took a few steps back as Shadow slowly absorb the emeralds and change from the onyx shade he was well known for to a bright gold that assured his victories. When Shadow opened his eyes, exhaustion was no longer a concern to him. Eggman snapped out of it when the red eyes landed on him once more, "DASH! ATTACK!"

Shadow looked at Dash and whispered, "I'm sorry." He kicked Dash's head making the eyes frits a bit, thus causing the grip to loosen up a bit. Shadow then twisted out of the hold and pushed Dash down the open hatch. He quickly closed the door, locked it, and began to head towards Eggman.

"P-please! I- We-" Eggman stuttered.

"That's enough from you doctor," Shadow raised his hand as a large Chaos Spear formed, "You're finished."

"H-HAVE MERCY!" Begged Eggman as he got on his knees.

"Not this time."

Shadow threw the spear towards his begging target, but felt something was off after a gust of wind went by him. When he looked down, the scientist was still begging for mercy. Shadow almost lost his stoic features when he saw why the scientist hadn't been impaled. Standing with his arm raised was Dash, in super form.

Eggman noticed he the lack of pain and looked up at the two golden hedgehogs. He jumped up with joy and pure happiness,

"What was that hedgehog!?" He laughed a bit more, "That I was, finished?" He put his hands on his knees as he continued laughing, "Look at what you just helped me create!" His voice no longer held plea, but victory, "I never would've imagined this outcome!"

Shadow looked behind him to see a hole ripped apart where the door was.

"That's an easy fix." Eggman viewed from afar, "But let's begin this fight shall we?"

Eggman snapped his fingers and Dash disappeared from place to place, already trying to land a blow on Shadow. The onyx hedgehog dodged each one as his annoyance grew.

'This is a complete step back...' Shadow ducked and tackled Dash to the floor, 'That fox better have a plan for that cursed machine.' Dash used his boosters and twisted to slam Shadow to the ground, eyes making contact, 'At least before I have to get serious and actually hurt him.'

Dash lifted his arm getting ready to land a hard blow to Shadow's skull.

Sonic: That's where she ends it folks!
