Greetings, Hunters and Huntresses from across the Verse and welcome to the next chapter of Team ARCG: Wrath Of A Knight.
I hope you enjoy it and now on to the review.
SuperSaiyajin4Vegeta: I know... Maybe she will be back, hell Malgeist did managed to resurrect Salem in this story by... blowing up humanity...
Now story time.
It had been six month's since the fall of Beacon. A depressed Ruby is sitting on her bed, her eyes once cheerful Silver Eyes had become black voids. She is listening to the news on the small tv in her room.
"...with no end in sight. Try as they might, the local Huntsmen and Huntresses can't seem to get a hold of the situation at Beacon Academy. Though the fail safes have supported wireless communication within the kingdom, the loss of the CCT Tower continues to prevent contact with the outside world."
"...Vale council voted this week to continue to ban any air traffic that does not have a direct correlation with evacuation."
"Multiple rumors continue to circulate as to who was behind the attacks at the Vytal Festival Tournament. While no one knows for sure, officials have confirmed that high-ranking White Fang member, Adam Taurus was present for the attack. Any and all attempts to bring him into custody have been met with brutal force."
Ruby turns off the news, she sits there holding the remote just when she heard a knock on the door.
"Ruby?..." a voice said softly.
She sets the remote down, looking in the direction of the door, "Remus?"
She heard her bedroom door open, followed by quick footsteps over the wooden floor, and two arms wrapping around her small body, "I am so happy your alright. I came as fast as I could when I heard you came out of your coma."
"...I am not alright... But I am glad you are safe." she said with a sad smile, but she returned the hug, "Where is everybody else?"
"Roman and Qrow are surprisingly working together, doing something. Neo is off on her own, doing her thing. Weiss is back in Atlas..." he said, before suddenly stopping.
"Remus... What about everyone else?" she said, slightly letting go of her, "I-I need to know..."
"Sun is confirmed dead. We couldn't recover Pyrrha's body, Yang is still missing, Avaro has become paralyzed from his waist down... He has gone back home." Remus said, his own voice heavy with sadness, "C-Ciaran is still labeled as missing... As for Gabriel is gone, I don't know where he has gone off to."
Seagulls call as a ship moves over peaceful blue waters. Passengers are strolling across both the upper and mid decks. Blake rests her hands on the rail and stares out at the ocean. She blinks and looks over her right shoulder, somewhat startled. Two kids laugh over a joke.
Blake almost smiles and turns to look back at the ocean. She reaches up and undoing her bow, holding the ribbon out over the railing before letting go and watches the ribbon swirl in the air once before landing on the water.
"Never did like the bow."
Blake jumps and grips the hilt of Gambol Shroud. She halts her action when she sees royal blue eyes of Gabriel, who was also wearing a new outfit.
His outfit is similar to his old clothes but more form-fitting. He still wore the same blue jacket but with amber gems, the bottom has a black strap with an orange outline. He wears blue jeans and knee-high boots.
"Bit paranoid much?" Gabriel said, crossing his arms, "Digging the new outfit, by the way."
"What are you doing here, Gabriel!?" Blake shouted, "Have you been following me!?"
"I saw you run off. The night Beacon Tower fell." Gabriel said, "Once we landed in Vale, you made sure everyone was okay. And then you just took off, without saying anything."
"I had to." she said, turning away from him, "You wouldn't understand."
"Then make me understand." Gabriel said walking up next to her.
Inside the training room in the Land of Darkness. Cinder Fall is breathing heavily with with effort while trying to complete the training Salem against a creature of Grimm.
"Don't fight it. It can sense your trepidation. You must make it dread you."
She turned around startled when she saw Malgeist, hands clasped behind his back walking towards him. She quickly bend to one knee, but he gestured for her to rise.
"Stand." Malgeist said, "People bend their knees too quickly."
"Do you have any need of my services, my lord?" she asked.
"Call me Malgeist when we are in privet." he said, looking at her with his Silver Eyes, "Just wished to see how you where doing."
"You honor me, Malgeist." she said with a bow.
"You have done well, Cinder." he said, "And because of that, you honor me and my sister as well."
A soft clicking sound makes him turn toward the door. It revealed to be a jellyfish-based Grimm with long red tentacles and a black and white body.
It glides its way over to Malgeist. Once the Seer Grimm reaches his side, he leans closer to it.
"It's time." Malgeist said, as a wave of black aura went over his body, changing his skin to a pale color and removing the veins. His white haired turned a dark brown and his eyes turned to a normal blue, "Reinforce our numbers at Beacon. The Relic is there."
He turned to Cinder, giving her a small smile, "I would like to speak more once I get back, and discuss your future."
"I would like that." she said before she watched him stride away, the heavy doors closing behind him.
It was now dusk, and the boat continues its journey on the smooth water. When the boat rocket's on the wake it created and lets out a grunt as she tries to keep her balance.
The alert immediately sounds. Two red lights next to a speaker pulse with the sound. The Captain and his First Mate come running out and look at the water from the upper deck, just above Blake and Gabriel.
"By the gods..." the Captain murmurs as the shadow falls over him.
The long-necked creature is revealed to be a large Sea Feilong. It has a pattern of glowing red lines along the scales of its neck, and its eyes glow yellow. The Grimm swings its head back and forth, roaring and spreading its short forearms outward.
Gabriel and Blake springs into action, running off the boat and into the air. She creates one of her clones to give them added upward momentum, flinging Gambol Shroud forward in its kusarigama form. Attached to the ribbon on her wrist, it embeds itself into the Grimm's neck.
Gabriel swings over the Grimm and shoots it in the back of its neck with his weapons, the same spot Blake strikes at it. It roars, as the duo land back on the boat.
The duo continues the assault on the sea creature, once again swinging and shooting. The ship's cannons fire but are mostly ineffective. Blake falls back onto the ship's deck, lands on her back, bounces, and quickly gets herself back onto her feet.
The Grimm's dorsal fin splits apart and extra bone unfolds, revealing two wings. The dragon lets out a roar as it flies, its beating wings sending a gush of air at the ship.
"Of course it has wings!" Gabriel shouted as the ships heavy cannon fires, but the Grimm easily evades it.
It opens its mouth and an electric ball forms as Gabriel collects telekinetic energy in both his hands.
When the dragon releases its electric blast, it bouches of Gabriel's strike, goes harmlessly into the air, rather than at the ship.
"Blake!" he shouted, "We need to clip it's wings."
She nodded and the two went back into action as the Grimm is firing electric blasts at the boat. Gabriel created another strike, to bounce away the electric blast.
Gabriel grabs her hand, and using a his telekinesis to throw the two higher up, high above the Sea Feilong, they began the descent, avoiding the electric blasts it shoots. Blake runs down its right wing, slicing through the thin membrane, while Gabriel did the same with the left wing.
The heavy cannon fires and hits the Grimm dead on. Its upper half is blasted to pieces, and it dies immediately. Under loud cheers of the crew and other passengers, the duo landed back on the ship.
Blake smiles and lowers her head in relief.
"Hey, Blake." Gabriel said, turning her attention to him, "I'm coming with you. The Grimm are getting worse, and I have a feeling trouble is going to come to Menagerie."
"There's really no stopping you?" she said with a deep sigh, as he shook his head, "Fine."
Inside a dark circular office room, hologram display's showing information about the Dread Knight, the myths and legends of the supposed Artifacts, and data recovered from Ozpin's privet data banks.
Among all that information, in the middle of the room stood Avaro wearing a silver formal suit with button-up sleeves, a black shirt underneath with black armored boots, and a loosely-fitting necktie.
"Sir. General Ironwood has offered you a place at Atlas Academy." the voice of Soroi said, coming out of the walls.
"Ignore him." Avaro said, moving the screens around with a gesture of his hand, "I am far too busy."
"Sir, if this is about your company..."
"This isn't about my company." Avaro told his butler, as he scrolled through a screen, "This is about something else."
"I see... As a reminder, the Schnee Dust Company will be holding a charity concert in the coming weeks. Lady Weiss will be preforming at the event."
Avaro looked over to the desk, looking at one of the two framed pictures on it. One of them had a picture of him and Weiss, cuddle up in a grass field. Her placing a kiss on his cheek.
His eyes then fell on the invite to the event, "Yeah, I know." he said before continuing to work.
"Sir, if you don't mind me asking." Soroi asked, "What are you working on?"
Walking over to his desk, picking up the second frame. It showed a picture of Team ARCG, standing in front of entrance to Beacon Academy.
It showed a rare moment of the four laughing, Avaro arms crossed and giving a thumbs up, Remus had the arm of Ciaran around him and Gabriel was looking surprised at his leader. They stood around the white haired youth, who had the largest smile of all of them, jumping in as he raised his fist.
"I am working on a way to bring him back." he told him simply, "And if that is not possible... I am going to kill a god."
Malgeist is standing on the platform of a train station, standing underneath a roof as rain porred down. Stepping forward, he closed his eyes and raised his arms up, letting the cold water touch his skin.
He was bought out of his trance, he heard the ticket machine proclaim, "Error: Unable to complete request. Reason Given: Insufficient Funds. Code: 726."
He looked over his shoulder to see a young boy with tanned, and black unkempt hair with green undertones.
He wears a dirty and scuffed white shirt that laces across the chest. The sleeves are rolled up to his elbows, and there is a pocket on the left tricep. His olive pants are held up by orange suspenders and are tucked into worn, brown boots. The pants are patched over the knee, and a quilted cloth hangs loosely out of his left pocket. His hands are covered by orange gloves, with green straps overlapping across the back of the hand in an X shape, and around the wrist.
"Stupid thing." the boy mumbled, "I'm assuming whatever weird magic this is doesn't come with an infinite supply of money?"
Malgeist stride forward, and the boy suddenly seemed more alert. He turns his attention to Malgeist, who stops near the machine and places his hand on the machine. It made beeps and makes the sound of dispensing paper. As Malgeist removes his hand, the machine spits out a small ticket.
"Don't let such a small obstacle block your path." Malgeist said, turning to walk away.
"Thank you Mr..." the boy said.
"Launfal... Call me Ciaran Launfal" Malgeist introduced himself, turning around "What about you? What do you call yourself?"
"I am Oscar Pine." the boy Oscar introduced himself, picks the ticket up and then looks at him, "Nice to meet you Ciaran."
"Well met, Oscar Pine." he said, hearing the train horn in the distance, "It seems our ride is here."
Malgeist walked to the other side of the train tracks as the silver-gray train arrives. Its engine has glowing cyan markings, each in the form of two parallel lines with a series of evenly-spaced diagonal lines connecting them.
"...Someone from my past. Someone who should not be taken lightly."
Malgeist, turned on the spot, looking in the direction where he thought he had heard the voice, but only saw Oscar.
Blake and Gabriel walk off the boat, and into the town has many small buildings and homes set among dunes and palm trees.
Several Faunus in summer wear meander casually at the dock, some waiting for friends or family among the new arrivals. The dock is also a commercial area, with mobile kiosks selling food and other wares. It is a relaxed atmosphere on a sunny day.
She proceeds without pause while Gabriel looks around while they walk through the market area together.
"I've never seen so many Faunus in one place." he said.
"This is the one place everyone can feel safe." Blake told him, "No matter who or what they are."
"Is it always so... cramped?" Gabriel asked, narrowly evading a Faunus carrying a box.
"Well, when you try and take an entire species and put them on an island that's two-thirds desert, yeah, it tends to be cramped." Blake explained, "It's not like the desert in Vacuo. The wildlife here is more dangerous than most other regions."
"So, they give you a terrible island, in the corner of Remnant, to try and shut you all up?" Gabriel said, "What assholes."
For a moment, he could have sworn he saw the edges of Blake's mouth move up a little, as if smiling.
"That's a good summery." she admitted.
The road they are on goes downhill and to the side, bordered by palm trees and homes that have either canvas or wood roofs. The vista of palm trees spreads out to the edge of mountainous dunes in the distance. Right in the middle of all this is a large house with an open courtyard that the road appears to lead directly to. The house is at least three stories and is the only building in the whole area with a sophisticated roof.
"This, is Kuo Kuana." Blake said and they continued to walk, "Time to go home."
"It's... beautiful." the male brunette admitted, "Why would anyone ever want to leave? Can I live here?"
"Because we asked to be equal, to be treated just like everyone else! Instead, we were given an island and told to make do. So we did the best we could." Blake said with a hint of aggression, as they continued to walk, "We came together and we made a home where any Faunus could feel welcome. But this island, this town, will always be a reminder that we're still not equal."
At the last point she made, she lowers her face, "That we're still second-class citizens..."
"Hey..." he said, putting his hand on her shoulder, "It might not mean much, but I see all Faunus as my equal."
Gabriel and Blake walk up the stone steps to the front door of the house. Blake hesitates when she moves to use the knocker.
"Something wrong?" he asked.
"It's... it's just been a long time since I've seen my parents." Blake admitted.
"You should talk with them... I wish I could still talk with mine." Gabriel said, "But whatever you decide, I am right behind you."
Blake takes a quick breath for courage and bangs the door knocker. It makes a loud, heavy, resonating sound on the large door.
Both Gabriel and Blake give a start at the sound of the door being opened.
A short female cat Faunus with black hair and yellow eyes behind it. Her ears larger in size and have more fur than Blake's. She has short hair and three gold piercings on her cat ears. She wears a black hakama and sandals with white tabi socks. Over her outfit, she wears a black shrug with a long right sleeve and a short left sleeve, gold leaf trim adorning the opening on the front. She wears long, black arm warmers that extend to the middle finger.
Looking around at the visitors. Her ears perk and she moves the door out of the way so she can step forward, "Blake?" she said in almost in disbelief.
Awkwardly lifting her arm in greeting, Blake said, "Hi, mom."
The mother steps forward and hugs her daughter, "My baby girl."
Blake hesitates, uncertain for a moment, before her face gentles into a smile and she hugs her mother back.
"Well, Ciaran isn't here so I will substitute for him." Gabriel thought upon seeing Blake's mother, "Oh hello, MILF... Blake's mom has got it going on."
They stand in front of open doorway. From inside the house, the sounds of footsteps come closer and a shadow falls onto the carpeted entryway. Kali lets go of Blake and turns behind her at the sound of a deep male voice.
"Kali? Who is it?"
A tall, muscular man with black hair, a beard and yellow eyes stands before them with his hands on his hips. For his top, he wears an open dark violet coat with white fur trim, exposing his hairy chest. Over his beige pants is a matching sash that wraps around his waist and is secured with a large, silver metal buckle.
The man's quizzical expression changes to wide-eyed surprise, before his hands, shoulders, and face all fall in a clear, emotional reaction to the sight of his daughter coming home.
Thousands of miles away, somewhere on a large riverbank on the continent of Anima. An injured Yang crawls her way out of the river, her clothes dirtied and wet. She crawled a few meters through the dirt, her vision becoming darkened and distorted.
But before she could lose her consciousness, two sets of boots walked into her field of vision.
"Well what do we have here?" a male voice said, "What's a fine looking girl like that here?"
"Hey hold on a minute." another male voice said, "She looks familiar."
"None of you touch her." a third rough female voice said.
A third set of boots stepped between the first two. Yang's purple eyes traveled upwards, revealing a woman with the same facial shape as herself. However, her hair is jet black, her eyebrows are a little bit higher, her complexion is significantly lighter and slight age lines are under her red eyes.
"Mom..." Yang mumbled before she lost consciousness and her surrounding faded to black.

"Blake's mom has got it going on! She's all I want, and I've waited for so long. Blake, can't you see? You're just not the girl for me!" Gabriel sings under the shower, "I know it might be wrong, but I'm in love with Blake's mom."
