Percy's POV:
It was midnight when Percy awoke. He'd had headaches, and really strange dreams. Various gods had appeared, and...He shook his head. Just a dream. He snorted. Yeah, right...
He threw on jeans and a T-shirt, and went outside. The night air was cool and crisp on his face. He looked up at the silver chips in the sky before shaking his head and looking down, moving away.
He headed towards the forest. It was usually pretty dangerous there, but monsters didn't scare Percy anymore. Not like they used to, anyway. When you've fought giants, gods, and a few of the Earth Mother's most elite forces, well... he guessed monsters were just an inconvenient part of your life.
He walked along barefoot towards the lake. The feel of the forest beneath his feet felt strangely...nice.
Percy reached the lake, and sat down on a boulder by it, his feet just touching the surface, sending ripples of disturbance outwards.
Percy.
A voice.
Percy looked up startlingly, but didn't feel a sense of danger. The voice felt completely familiar, and he knew who's it was.
A white mist rose from the middle of the lake, gathering together, to form a shape. His father.
Poseidon drifted closer to Percy. Percy felt himself leaning forwards. "Father."
Poseidon smiled, stopping about three feet away, still in the lake. "Percy."
Percy almost smiled back, but felt a pang of anger. He suddenly jerked back, almost involuntarily. "I-you never told me. About my sister. About Cynthia."
Poseidon now smiled a small, regretful, sad smile. There was a glimmer in his eyes. Of what, he did know. "Cynthia...yes. Cynthia."
Percy looked down. "Tell me. How is she now."
Poseidon shook his head slowly, but sat next to him on the boulder. "This...this is actually very hard to talk about, but first...I want you to know how proud I am of you. You're the best son I've ever had."
Percy felt his stomach lurch. But with great power comes great responsibility. "Okay. Now I know." He clenched his hands into fists, just to do something. "So tell me about my sister. Why I was separated with her. Why she has so many powers. Why she keeps-kept" he dug his nails into his palms. "acting like she wasn't supposed to grow friendly with us..the crew."
Poseidon shook his head, his great head bowed. "I can't tell you now. But you will know later. I promise on the River Styx." Percy stifled a small gasp. A god swearing on the River Styx was something definitely big. "So...you promise. Fine."
They sat silent for a while. Percy felt despair eating at him from the inside.
"So...how's Cynthia now...? She's not..."
Dead, is she...? But Percy didn't want to ask if his sister were dead. Cynthia was the most powerful person he knew. He felt tears sting the edges of his eyes. I guess this is when you tell yourself to not cry, he thought bitterly. But I can't find a reason not to cry...
Poseidon seemed to feel his despair. Of course he did. He was a god, as well as well as his father. "Percy...I-you'll understand everything. Tomorrow."
Percy shook his head in regret. Did it matter? It was strange. Percy had never known his sister, but he missed her more than he'd ever missed anyone else. It was because she had always been watching him. It was because she had loved him back. She had cared for him, ready to die for him.
And yet he had let her go, making her think that her life was useless.
Poseidon stood up, and drifted back to the lake, his back to Percy. "I have to go. But just for the record, I loved her too. I cared for her as well. She was my daughter as well as your sister." He turned around to face him. There was a small misty film over his eyes. It could have been Percy's imagination. "But just so you know, your sister will be there for you tomorrow. I promise you that as well."

I know my story might be useless now that House of Hades is out, but I believe in finishing this, so please advise!
Love you all!
