Poké Rangers Dino Thunder Chapter 26: The Ranger Switcheroo, a pokémon fanfic

A/N: Welcome to a new chapter of Poké Rangers Dino Thunder! Here we go!

Previously on Poké Rangers Dino Thunder…

Finally! We have reached the second half of the season! Alex, JT, Lee, our three main heroes managed to stumble on to Dino Fossils which transformed them into the heroes you see today. In addition, we have had issues with the Dinvolien Empire, seeing that they have been released to take over Hoenn. Their ally rangers, Daniel Dragonfly and Amiizuka Chii, two veteran rangers, take on the Dino Fossil power to aid these rangers. The battles have been fierce, especially when they had to face their own: Lucille Harper. Now, with everything going on, who knows what the five of them will face as the Dinvoliens rise. Find out what will happen in Chapter 26 of the 10th season of Poké Rangers: Hoenn.

It was the first day of classes for the new rangers at Slateport University. To save on tuition, the rangers decided to continue living at the Chii-Dragonfly manor. There was only one problem: they were a little bit farther from access to certain things in the university. Specifically, for Alex. The red ranger was taking yet another set of labs for his sophomore year. Taking Genetics and Poké-Biology I, Alex needed to do extensive labs for his semester. To Alex, it was crazy.

For Lee, it was the same way. However, she is continuing her music career. First, she is now taking Music Theory II with a hint of Music History, and Music and Pokémon for her goal to be a dream coordinator with her music performance. She has had an interesting time trying to figure out her practice schedule.

Finally, JT had computer courses but they were all devoted to working in the computer lab It wasn't like freshman year. He had to take courses such as Web Programming I and Poké-Coding II. It was going to be an interesting semester for him. In other words, the three of them had so much they needed to do. It wasn't like freshman year at all.

It was a beautiful, warm summer day in the Slateport Student Union. As multiple students were walking back and forth, Alex was sitting on the chair in the main lobby with his laptop. He was currently setting up lab sheets. As he continued to open his book, he could hear the sound of someone trip and fall. As they fell, the coffee cup flew up and landed on top of his clothing. Seeing his red shirt stained, he noticed JT who was nervous as he saw Alex.

"Alex…," said JT, "I'm sorry."

Alex's eyes darted at JT as he raised his lab papers in the air, "Dude, these lab reports!"

"Lab reports?" asked JT.

The red ranger clenched his fist, "Yes, the lab reports! These came out of my book. I never had a chance to make a copy!"

JT started pointing fingers at each other as he looked at Alex. Alex grumbled as he crumbled his papers up, "You owe me new lab reports!"

"Alex, it was an accident!" said JT.

"… I don't care," said Alex, looking at him.

The blue ranger looked at the hot-headed ranger, who was ready to flip his lid, "What is your problem?"

"That's none of your damn business," said Alex.

He grumbled as he walked away from the blue ranger to get paper towels. Other students were just walking by. JT scratched his chin as he picked up the coffee cup in his hand and threw it in the trash. Something was underneath Alex's skin, but he was afraid to tell his best friend, his comrade.

Chapter 26: The Ranger Switcheroo

"Hey, look dude. I said I was sorry," said JT. His voice was so apologetic, Alex had no choice but to relax as he walked toward the table with his book in hand. JT could tell that the red ranger calmed down, but he wasn't too impressed with what he saw.

Alex sighed as he looked at him and shook his head, "JT… I wonder about you. Why were you so clumsy?"

"With a new computer, it's kind of hard to not get that destroyed," he grinned.

"But, it was okay," said Alex, as he went to read the chapter in his book, "It was okay to spill it on my coffee."

"It's not okay," said JT, "But, I still don't know what your problem is."

Alex grumbled, "Well, JT, you would have to be there to understand."

No sooner JT opened the laptop, the Dino Brace began to light up with the alarm sound. Alex looked up as he placed his books in his backpack. JT groaned as he closed the laptop.

"Yeah," said Alex, as he reached his Dino Brace.

"Alex, Danny and I are heading to Slateport Marketplace. There has been a Dinvolien Incident. Meet us there."

"Where's Lee?" asked JT.

"She's on her way," said Amii, over the intercom.

Alex looked up as JT headed into the men's bathroom, which was right across from where they were sitting. As the door opened up, the two dashed to the stall. The two rangers stretched out their Dino Braces as their Dino Morphers appeared on their person.

"Dino Thunder, Power Up!" yelled the men.

A flash of red and blue light appeared in the bathrooms as the rangers transformed into their suits. The two of them dashed out of the bathroom as they headed through Student Union with all of the students shaking their heads as they dashed out of the room.

Meanwhile…

A creature has managed to walk into the Slateport Market. He had an Exeggutor body with an Octillery head and tentacles around the palm trees. He laughed as he had a metallic laser built into his body. As people started to run away with some of the Pokémon that were in the area. A massive red energy beam came out, causing a huge wave disturbance. Everyone screamed as they fell to the ground. He laughed as he continued blasting through.

"This is perfect! I, Exeggtopus, will make Tyrantus very happy!" he said, laughing, "Perfect!"

He turned around as he saw teenagers walking toward the Slateport Market. As they screamed, he went to charge his lasers.

"Say, bye!" he said.

"THAT'S ENOUGH!"

Immediately, five beams of energy shot from behind. Sparks flew out as he landed on the ground. Turning around, Alex and JT were in front of the others.

"Dino Rangers!" he yelled, "Or better… Poké Rangers!"

"You have some nerve trying to destroy this city!" said Alex.

"Allow us to rip you a new one," said JT.

Exeggtopus scratched his head with his leafy arms and turned around. He then turned back to them with a black tray of red eggs, "How about some eggs for my surrender?"

"Eggs?" asked Danny.

"Eggs?" asked Amii, looking at them, "They are red."

"Eggs?" asked Lee, looking at Alex and JT.

"No way," JT responded, "That's fake!"

"Fake?" asked Exeggutops. He threw the eggs and the tray across the ground. The eggs exploded as it hit the rangers. Immediately, the red tentacles came out. Alex and JT were grabbed around the neck and thrown toward him.

"JT! ALEX!" shouted Lee.

As the two of them struggled, Alex went to grab the Dino Blaster. Exeggutops stretched his leafy hand and grabbed Alex's right hand hard. As the rangers were struggling even more, Exeggutops released a green force of energy.

"Energy Switch!"

Green sparks surrounded them. The rangers yelled as green sparkles surrounded them. The two rangers landed on the ground as Exeggutops's tentacles came back.

"Have a great day!" he said, laughing as he started to run away.

Immediately, a red and blue aura surrounded them as their suits disappeared. Alex and JT slowly woke up as the other three rangers were walking toward them.

"Are you okay?" asked Lee.

"I'm doing very well," said JT, scratching his head… to feel a baseball cap, "Wait… what is this? I'm wearing blue!"

Alex stood up as he looked at JT, "And I'm on this side?"

Danny and Amii rolled their eyes, "Great," they said in unison.

Alex and JT walked toward each other and then looked at the sky, "CRAP!"

Meanwhile…

Terrordactyl laughed as he was sitting in the hideout. He turned to the others, who were also impressed with what was going on.

"So," said Terrordactyl, "That was impressive."

"Red and Blue switched?" asked Tyrantus, smiling as he clenched his fist. He put the fist in the air, "That means that they won't be able to morph either… ha ha ha."

Lucille grinned as she watched the video, "You mean to tell me, now that they are switched, they can't morph?"

"Yep. Personalities aren't in sync with their genetic DNA. The DNA must be perfect for them to transform," said Tyrantus, "With three rangers left… they don't stand a chance with us!"

Aurora grinned as she turned her head toward Tyrantus, "Well, why don't we continue our assault?"

Tyrantus laughed as he grinned, "For once, Princess, I think we will do that."

Grinning, Aurora, Terrordactyl and Lucille burst out laughing as they were watching the footage unfold in front of their eyes. The battle for this chapter, at least for Tyrantus, has just begun.

Back at Dino Ops…

Alex and JT were sitting down on the couch as they were staring at the wall in deep thought. While they were in deep thought, Amii was scanning them using a black device while looking at her laptop. The computer screen began to glow bright yellow as she sighed in response.

"They really are switched, aren't they?" asked Lee.

Amii nodded, "Yeah."

"That's not good," said Danny, invisible, yet can be seen, "It seems to me that the three of us are going to have to do this ourselves."

"We can help!" said Alex in JT's body.

"Exactly," said JT.

"Nope," said Amii, "Your DNA and your personality switch are the main reasons why you are unable to morph."

"We… can't morph?" asked JT.

"Not until you get your personality back in your body," said Danny.

"That requires to get the creature!" said Alex.

"Yep," said Lee, looking at the red ranger, "We are aware of that."

Alex groaned, in JT's body shaking his head as he looked at his original body rolling his eyes. The two of them looked at each other and then turned around as they were watching the rest of the group. Amii turned around as Lee was tapped on the shoulder, "May I speak with you privately?"

The yellow ranger nodded as she walked away from the group. As they headed toward a quiet corner, Amii's eyes darted at Lee, "What do you think is wrong with them?"

Lee sighed, "We know physically, it's crazy. I think Alex has an emotional thing going on. It wasn't like him to act this way."

Meanwhile…

Tyrantus was grinning as he saw Pokémon confused and people confused in terms of who they are. He laughed as he was looking at Exeggutops.

"Exeggutops," he said, laughing, "I am impressed with what you have done. Switched people around, switched Pokémon around… it seems phase 1 is working out well."

"Phase 1 is going smoothly," said Exeggutops.

Lucille laughed as she looked at him, "Maybe, we can start Phase 2?"

"Yep. Once people are confused, they will be so confused that by the time we start striking their planet, they will have no cover and no place to go," said Tyrantus, "Identity crisis will be their top priority besides their safety."

Aurora turned around as she looked at them, "But, what about the Poké Rangers?"

"Simple," said Exeggutops, "Red and blue have switched."

Tyrantus's ears popped up as he heard what he said, "You mean, Exeggutops, that they are no longer the same?"

"YES!" shouted Exeggutops.

"Which means…," grinned Tyrantus, he looked at Aurora and Lucille, "Ladies, it seems that with two rangers unable to morph, it leaves three. And seeing that two are veterans, it only leaves…"

"Yellow," said Aurora.

"Exactly. She will be… the weakest without Red and Blue," he said, laughing, "Lucille, you know what to do."

Lucille grinned as she looked at them. As she turned around, golden bolts surrounded her body. After a little scream, the energy disappeared.

"Are you okay?" asked Tyrantus.

"I'm fine," said Lucille as she brushed her hair to the back, "It seems that… there's a side effect to this host… but I'll be fine."

She then pressed the button on her morpher, "Dino Thunder, Power Up!"

A white light surrounded her as she transformed into her uniform. Immediately, she jumped up, taking Exeggutops with her.

"Good," said Tyrantus, grinning.

"Let's see if this plan will work," said Aurora, "And Terrordactyl's sleeping."

Tyrantus shook his head, "What a nincompoop."

Meanwhile…

JT and Alex were heading to each other's classes, taking notes on what they needed to know. Granted, to JT and Alex, they had no idea what the professor was talking about in either class. As they walked back together outside of class, they met up with Lee outside the music conservatory.

"How was class?" asked Lee.

"Dreadful," said Alex, "This coding crap… I don't get it. But, I did take notes and tried to attempt the first part."

JT sighed. He looked at Alex, "I blew up the lab."

"YOU DID WHAT?" asked the rangers.

JT sighed as he looked at them, "Yeah. I blew up the lab and mixed two chemicals for the Biochemistry class."

"Dude, it's enough that class is hard. I don't want my professor to see me as a stupid head because someone in my body can't mix chemicals!" shouted Alex, who was once again, in JT's body.

"Still…," said JT, "I'm sorry… but, you didn't tell me one thing."

"One thing?" asked Alex.

"I know why you're pissed," said JT.

Alex looked at him, "None of your concern."

Lee looked at the two rangers, "What's going on?"

JT looked at Lee, even though he was giving a look in Alex's body. Alex looked at him, "Don't do that. That's what you do."

"Lucille is in his biology classes," he said.

Lee looked at Alex. Alex pressed JT's wire-framed glasses up as he looked at her. He was a little angry that it was out of the bag.

"Since when did the enemy of the world decide to take biology classes?" asked Lee.

"She's a transfer from another college," said Alex, "That's why she wound up in Hoenn."

"If that's the case," said JT, "Then, maybe there's a way to free her from that evilish morpher and be a normal human being?"

"My friend," said Alex, "Once Dino blood is in your DNA, it's there for life… remember?"

Lee nodded as she looked at JT, "JT's… I mean, Alex has got a point."

Suddenly, bolts of yellow lightning came across as explosions could be overheard.

"Rangers," said Danny, "The White Ranger is making a strike with her Archeops Zord."

Alex and JT looked at each other, "What can we do?"

"Lee will go alone. You two are to head back to Dino Ops. We must draw Exeggutops out so that we can switch your bodies."

"But-," said Alex.

"It's NOT safe for you to be at the battle. That is an executive order coming from me. Return now!"

As the intercom turned off, Lee turned around as she looked at the male rangers, "I can do this."

"You need us," said Alex.

"Not if you're in your condition," said Lee, taking out her morpher. She turned around as she looked to see if there was anybody around, "Dino Thunder, Power Up!"

A yellow aura surrounded her as she transformed into her uniform. She threw her backpack at Alex and then started running toward the woods

"Seriously?" asked Alex.

JT looked at him, "We are not going to go back to ops."

Alex sighed as he looked at him, "Well, let's see what's going on."

The two rangers ran with their belongings toward Alex's car. As they dropped their stuff in the back, the two rangers began to argue about who's driving.

"You forgot, it's not my body, but it's my car," said Alex, asking for the keys.

JT, annoyed, decided to throw the keys. As he hopped into the car, Alex laughed as he hopped into the car. As the two drove off, they headed straight toward the city. As they arrived, they noticed the Archeops Zord and the Aerodactyl Zord battling it out while Exeggutops started destroying the city. People started running away, going into other people's homes and then trying to go back to their original home. JT and Alex looked at each other.

"So," said Alex, "We got to get Exeggutops back."

"Right," said JT, "And how do we do it?"

Suddenly, their morphers started going off. Alex went to answer the morpher.

"Hey, where are you?" asked Danny.

"Sorry, Danny," said JT, "But, we would rather die fighting without our suits than sit and wait. You should know us by now."

"But-," said Danny.

"Don't but us," said Alex, "You did yourself."

Danny groaned, "But, that's different."

"But, that's different… kind of not a good excuse," said JT, "We'll handle it."

The rangers nodded as they turned around to see the Aerodactyl Zord crash into the Archeops Zord. The Archeops Zord landed on the ground while the Aerodactyl Zord disappeared. Lee turned around as she took out her Amber Daggers.

"You will not be able to defeat me!" said Lucille, "Ancient Dagger!"

Flashes of white light came across as Lee was hit hard by the attack. Lucille then went to strike. However, as Lucille went to make the final blow, golden sparks flew out of her suit as she screamed. Explosions surrounded her as she started to glow bright gold.

"Now," said Lee.

Lee took out her Dino Blaster. Shooting blue beams, Lucille screamed as the blasts took the hit. She screamed as she landed on the ground. She looked up as Lucille carried the weapon.

"I will get you for this," she said, disappearing.

"Good," said Lee.

Suddenly, Exeggutops released green beams at Lee. Lee screamed as she landed on the ground. Exeggutops knocked out her Amber Daggers as she was thrown to the ground.

"Lee!" said Alex.

"I got an idea," said JT, looking at Alex, "Can you trust me?"

"Just don't spill coffee on me," grinned Alex.

"Shut up," said JT, "Let's go!"

Meanwhile, Lee used her Thunder Saber. As the Thunder Saber cut across, Exeggutops took the yellow ranger by the arm and bashed her back. As explosions came from behind, she screamed as she landed on the ground.

"Die!" he said, screaming.

Exeggutops laughed as he raised his claw. The claw dug into Lee's armor as she fell to the ground. The creature raised its claw to strike back. She screamed as she rolled across the ground. Standing up, she took out her Dino Blaster. Exeggutops released white egg bombs from his mouth. Explosions appeared as she landed on the ground. Looking up, Exeggutops went to stand on top of her. Laughing, blue beams came across. Screaming, Exeggutops started to fall backwards. Lee turned around as JT and Alex, who were still switched, stood back to back with their Dino Blasters in hands.

"GUYS!" shouted Lee.

Alex and JT pulled the trigger. Beams hit across as Exeggutops was pierced. Landing on the ground, JT and Alex dashed for the creature. As they jumped up, Exeggutops screamed as the tentacles came out. The two of them were caught as a green and yellow glow surrounded them, switching their bodies. As the two rolled off the creature, Lee looked at them as Alex woke up from the attack.

"Wow," said Alex, putting his hands up, "I'm me!"

"Me too!" shouted JT.

The rangers turned around as Exeggutops screamed at the top of his lungs, "Don't think you can beat me that easily rangers!"

"Shall we?" asked Alex.

"I thought you'd never ask," the blue ranger responded.

"Dino Thunder, Power Up!"

In a flash of red and blue light, the rangers transformed into their suits.

"Dino Thunder Mode, engage!"

In a red background, Alex stood up straight. Flames surrounded his body as he began to have shiny metallic spikes that were all over his body. His hands had ruby claws that emerged and he began to have Tyrantrum spikes on his back. As he posed, an explosion appeared behind him.

"Super Red Dino Ranger!"

In a blue background, the similar thing happened to JT. Flames surrounded his body as shiny spikes appeared all over his body. Two big spikes emerged on his shoulder. He had spikes emerge out of his feet and on his hands, he had sapphire claws. An explosion appeared behind him as he struck a pose.

"Super Blue Dino Ranger!"

In a yellow background, Lee stretched her arm out as flames surrounded her. Spikes surrounded her body. She had opal claws that emerged from her hand and she had wings that came out of her body. Spikes also popped around her arms. As she flipped and unleashed a pose, an explosion surrounded her.

"Super Yellow Dino Ranger!"

The three rangers stood together as they headed toward the creature.

"Dragon Claw!"

Red and blue stripes came across as Exeggutops was slashed in the face. Turning around, he then saw JT charge with his hands.

"Metal Claw!"

His hands became sharp as metal. Slashes appeared as Exeggutops was hit hard by the attack. As he stumbled back, Lee turned around as she flew across.

"Sky Drop!"

She took Exeggutops by the arms and threw him across. Landing on the ground, he released green and yellow beams of light. The three rangers charged together as they took out their main weapons.

"Let's put them together!" yelled Alex.

Immediately, the Armor Shield stood as the base. The Amber Daggers turned into handles as they were placed on either side of the Armor Shield. The Jaw Staff folded underneath and the top part of the staff connected to the top of the Armor Shield.

"Dino Bomber!" yelled the rangers.

"Oh, shit!" he moaned.

"Prehistoric Blast!" yelled the rangers.

Pulling the trigger, a golden energy beam shot out. The beam revealed a pair of monster jaws that hit Exeggutops. The creature yelled as explosions surrounded him. Immediately, he blew up into smithereens.

"And we will never body switch again," said Alex.

"Amen!" shouted JT.

"YOU COULD HAVE WAITED!"

The three rangers turned around as they saw Amii and Danny wearing their uniforms, running toward the battlefield.

"Sorry," said Alex, looking at Danny, "But, we were trying to finish the guy on our own."

Amii pointed to the sky, "Well, the clouds are getting darker… again."

Immediately, dark clouds gathered together in the sky as rain came down. The rain touched his corpse as he grew back to be a gigantic, living being.

"Good thing we did show up," said Danny, "Carracosta Zord!"

Immediately, the Carracosta Zord emerged out of its hiding spot. As the Carracosta Zord arrived to the battlefield, it stopped moving. The Carracosta Zord opened its doors as the Tyrantrum, Aerodactyl and Bastiodon Zord were released.

"Let's do it!" said Alex.

The three rangers jumped into the cockpit of their zords.

"Prehistoric Fusion!"

Immediately, the Tyrantrum Zord started charging first. Except for the legs, the body rotated 90 degrees so that way the one end had the tail and the other end was the head. The head detached and connected to the middle of the body. The Bastiodon Zord jumped up and connected to the right side of the Tyrantrum with a human head popping out. Finally, the Aerodactyl flew towards them. The Aerodactyl head was taken off and it connected to the human head while the wings and body connected to the back. The cockpit evolved into a big red and brown cockpit with Alex, JT, and Lee in control.

"Thundersaurus Rex Megazord, Battle Ready!"

Exeggutops screamed as he was releasing a ton of eggs from his head. Explosions surrounded the Thundersaurus Rex Megazord as it landed on the ground.

"Damn!" yelled Lee, holding on for dear life. She pressed a red button, "Wing Attack!"

The Thundersaurus Rex Megazord charged forward. The wings stretched out and straightened as it slashed Exeggutops back and forth. Sparks flew as the wings dug into his chest and sparks flew out. Landing on the ground, the Thundersaurus Rex Megazord charged with the Bastiodon fist.

"Metal Claw!"

SLASH! Exeggutops was slashed hard by the attack.

"Hyper Beam!" shouted Alex.

The mouth of the Tyrantrum opened up wide. An amber blast of energy came out as it pierced into the chest cavity of the creature. Explosions appeared all over his body. Exeggutops laughed as he released green vines from his arms. The vines strangled and tightened the Thundersaurus Rex Megazord. Sparks started flying back and forth. A green aura surrounded them as they were being hit with tons of particle energy.

"Shit!" yelled Alex, holding on for dear life, "This is not good!"

"Any ideas?" asked JT.

"I wish we had ideas right now," Lee said, hoping that there would be a plan, a way out of this.

Alex looked at JT, "Maybe we do need help."

JT sighed as he pressed the intercom, "Amii?"

Amii nodded slowly as she glanced at Danny, "I think I should help them. Aurorus Zord!"

Immediately, the Aurorus Zord rose from the ground as it marched toward the battle scene. Amii jumped up from the ground and headed into the cockpit of her zord.

"Now," she said, "Danny, shall we?"

"Yep. Carracosta, Water Pulse!" yelled Danny.

The Carracosta Zord released massive streams of water, which damaged Exeggutops's body. Immediately, the vines were released as the Thundersaurus Rex Megazord was free to move. As soon as the Megazord went to move, Exeggutops was hit by a blast of blizzard beams.

"Now," said Alex, "Shall we?"

"Yep," said Amii.

"Agreed," said Danny.

"Super Prehistoric Fusion!"

The Aurorus Zord began as it split into parts. The legs and arms combined as two huge arms, covering the arms of the Thundersaurus Rex Megazord. The long neck of the Aurorus Zord turned into a saber as it connected to the Megazord. The top and bottom armor appeared on the Carracosta Zord. The Carracosta Zord split open its body as the Thundersaurus Rex Megazord combined.

"Thundersaurus Rex Battlezord, Battle Ready!"

Exeggutops started to struggle, "I… WON'T… LOSE!"

"Let's end it," said JT.

"For both of us," said Alex, turning to the creature as he went to attack. Bombs were coming toward the Megazord as the Thundersaurus Rex Battlezord continued going in a straight path. The five rangers placed their hands on the spheres. Their ranger colors began to shine as the Thundersaurus Rex Battlezord began to glow bright gold.

"Super Hyper Beam!"

A blue and silver beam formed from the Tyrantrum Zord and the Carracosta Zord. The two beams formed together as a beam of white energy. Exeggutops screamed as he was pierced in the stomach. An explosion surrounded the mountains and the island. The zords roared as the Thundersaurus Rex Battlezord stopped moving.

Later that evening…

Alex and JT were staying late in Slateport University's computer lab. As they were drinking cups of coffee and working on their homework all the way in the back row next to the windows, JT turned around as he looked at him.

"Hey, I'm sorry," said JT.

Alex turned around, "For what? You didn't do anything."

"I'm sorry you have to deal with her in your class," said JT.

Alex sighed as he looked at him, "I think for 15 weeks, I'll be fine. As long as she doesn't kill me in between, I think we will be fine."

"Good," said JT, laughing, "That would suck if she did."

"True," laughed Alex as he went to begin his lab report on the computer. As they were continuing their work, flashes of white light were flashing from behind. The two rangers turned around as they were looking at the window.

"Did you see that?" asked JT.

"Yeah," said Alex, "But, it's possible that it's heat lightning."

JT raised an eyebrow, "Good point."

Outside of the Slateport Computer Lab, Lucille was running around, trying not to scream in pain. As she was running away from campus, white flashes of light emerged from her body as she hid into the bushes. Leaving campus, she looked at her morpher. A golden-red aura was coming out of it. She screamed as gold bolts surrounded her.

"SOMEONE HELP ME!" she screamed.

Her hands reached out as golden sparks surrounded her hand. Looking up, her eyes were glowing bright gold…
