Hello, my lovely readers. It is time for another chapter of scheming, lies and backstabbing in the supernatural version of Big Brother. Are you ready to find out who Bonnie replaced Damon with? On with the show…
Chapter 27: How Do I Keep Getting Dragged into these Things?
Liz Forbes had been trying to stay out of everyone's way. Was she happy that her little girl had married the Original Hybrid in this mad house… not particularly. Had she kept her mouth shut because it was good for her baby girl's game, yes. She had done as much as she could to support Caroline in her endeavor to win because one thing that she knew about her daughter was that she was competitive. So when Bonnie Bennett announced that Liz was taking Damon's place on the block, Liz felt like someone had punched her.
In a matter of seconds everyone was yelling at once. Caroline was screaming at the top of her lungs at her friend, her face turning redder by the second. Klaus was standing in front of Caroline trying to calm her down. Kol came to stand in front of Bonnie as Damon moved in front of the witch to give a piece of his mind. Stefan was arguing with Katherine about how that was "not the best news ever." Jeremy was arguing with Rebekah about saving himself and sending the "old" woman home. Jenna was arguing with Alaric, Elijah and Lexi about who to vote for. Matt looked stunned and Tyler was giving Liz a sympathetic look.
Liz could only stand there in the middle of all this chaos. Finally her Sherriff's training kicked in and she whistled to get everyone's attention. "Everyone, we all know that being HOH is about making tough decisions. That does not mean that we need to be at each other's throats."
"But, Mom," Caroline yelled, waving her arms around frantically on the edge of tears. She was about to start arguing when Liz held up a hand.
"Caroline, sweetie, I know that you're trying to do what you think is best for me, but, honey, now is not the time. Bonnie had to choose somebody. Just like you did. Everyone is going to get sent home at some point in this game and as we get closer to the end, sometimes your friends or family will go home. Look at Klaus, he has three siblings still in the house. One by one, they're going to go home." Liz stated calmly, watching Caroline's shoulders droop.
"What makes you think that it won't be Nik that goes home first?" Kol snapped at Liz and Rebekah nodded her arms folded over her chest.
"Because you know that I can outwit you any day, Kol," Klaus shot back with a smirk.
"Oh bugger off, Nik," Rebekah snapped with a scowl.
Klaus turned on Rebekah. "Oh, sister, are you feeling left out?" he taunted and Rebekah had to be held back by her hunter boyfriend.
"I will get you one of these days," Rebekah promised.
It took another five minutes for the houseguests to calm themselves before people disbanded and began to enter the house, two by two. Damon was one of the last. He accompanied Liz. "Hey," he said quietly.
"Hi, Damon," Liz greeted him with a smile. It had been sometime since they had been able to talk with all the madness in the house.
"You know that I vote for you, right?" Damon asked quietly, watching the other guests who were busy making deals. "I won't vote against Stef either which means that I have to vote against Jer. Elena is not going to happy with me when I get out of here."
"You could vote me out. It's okay, Damon. I have a job to get back to. And you'll watch out for Caroline while I'm gone," she added the last part and Damon stared at a point over her left shoulder for long moment. Looking back down at Liz, Damon nodded. "Yeah, I guess I could. But here's the thing. I can't deal with all of these people if I keep losing my friends. And between you and Ric, you're the only people I have in this house I can trust other than Stef."
Somewhere in another part of the house, Stefan was entering the pink room with Lexi with a bottle of bourbon that they stole from Damon's stash. "You know that the house will not send you home," Lexi told Stefan with a nod and a smile.
"Yeah, sure they won't. I mean I can totally trust Katherine. The Originals, one of them being my ex and my ex-best friend. Bonnie, who put me up in the first place. Jenna and Alaric will vote to keep Jeremy. Matt and Tyler and who knows what those two are thinking. And Caroline who will do whatever Klaus wants her to do. Oh, and then there's Damon who I would not trust to not stab me in the back." Stefan groaned, took a swig from the bottle and fell back on one of the beds.
"What makes you think that they would not vote against Jeremy? He's a hunter. No one really wants a vampire hunter in a house filled with vampires. Or what about the possibility that they'll vote Caroline's mom out?" Lexi suggested with a shrug.
"I wouldn't vote Liz out," Stefan said, covering his eyes with his arms. "She's Damon's friend. She's Caroline's mom which means she has Klaus' vote and he will manipulate people into keeping her. More than likely Matt, Tyler, Jenna and Alaric will vote to keep Jer and all they need is to vote against me with four other people and I'm out," Stefan stated slowly.
"You mean if they made a deal with the Originals?" Lexi prodded. "And since Rebekah is involved with Jeremy and she might be able to persuade Elijah to vote the same way as she does that would be six votes."
"And they might get Kol and Jeremy to make up and for Caroline to vote against me to save her mom. That would make an overwhelming majority voting against me," Stefan uttered quietly with a shake of his head.
"Why would she do that?" Lexi cried. "Caroline is your friend, not Jeremy Gilbert's."
"She's known him her whole life. He's her best friend's little brother," Stefan argued.
Lexi shook her head. "Do you want to go home?"
"No. Not yet," Stefan replied.
"Good. Get your lazy butt up and go make the rounds," Lexi grabbed Stefan by the arm and dragged him out the door and down the hall.
Caroline was on the warpath when she entered the HOH room. "Kol, get out!" she snapped at the Original lazing across the end of the bed playing with Bonnie's feet.
"No," Kol snapped back.
"Kol, get out!" Bonnie shouted and Kol sprang to his feet.
"You didn't have to be rude," he said with a wag of his finger at the female vampire and the witch before making his exit.
"Why did you put my mom on the block?" Caroline asked Bonnie who folded her legs as the vampire took a seat across from her.
"Because we're getting closer and closer to the end and as your mom pointed out, pretty soon we're going to have to evict those closest to us. It sucks, Care, it really, really does. And if I have to break a tie, I promise that I won't vote against your mom," Bonnie stated and Caroline grinned.
"Promise?" Caroline asked, holding out her pinkie, causing Bonnie to giggle.
"Promise," Bonnie stated with a laugh.
"So, are you going to send Stefan home?" Caroline asked with her eyes on her feet.
"I don't know. I mean he is a vampire," Bonnie replied, her eyes glowing with amusement when Caroline glanced up. "You know, you blood suckers think you run things around this house. Maybe it's time to take one of you out," she continued as Caroline looked mock hurt.
"Bonnie Bennett, you intolerant, little witch," Caroline cried, grabbing a pillow and smacking her friend with it playfully.
Bonnie grabbed a pillow of her own and they began to hit each other, laughing as feathers went flying. Kol decided to re-enter the room at that moment with Klaus right on his heels. "Ah, look, it is true. The moment that you leave women in a room, they become a cliché." Kol stated with a chuckle until Bonnie caught him across the jaw with her pillow. "Agh! So, that's how it is then," he cried, grabbing a pillow, he joined the fight.
"Are we going to talk strategy, or are we going to act like children?" Klaus asked the group atop the bed. Caroline turned and smacked her husband over the head. Blowing out a stream of feathers, Klaus yanked Caroline off her feet and onto her back. Freeing the pillow from her hands, he leaned over her. "Do you find that funny, love," he asked, spitting out another feather.
"Very," Caroline replied with a giggle.
"Good. Maybe you'd like a taste of your own medicine," Klaus replied, smacking Caroline with a pillow till she was puffing out feathers.
"Oh, dear, I think they're about to mate. Everyone, abandon ship," Kol cried. Taking Bonnie's hand, he ran out of the HOH room as Caroline and Klaus freed themselves of feathers and clothing. "I did not know that we were on an episode of the Bachelor." Kol sighed as he led Bonnie down the stairs to find that Lexi and Stefan were lying in wait for them. "Not now, we're both horribly busy," Kol told the two vampires, trying to walk past them when he was hit in the back of the head with something.
"How's it feel?" Damon asked, waving a baseball bat and then taking Bonnie by the arm. "You can have her back when we're done talking to her."
By the time that Kol woke up from the mini nap that he had fallen into after the elder Salvatore hit him for the third time over the head, he found himself inside the storage room. They had his witch, was his first thought. His second was that he was being guarded by his siblings. Elijah and Rebekah were flanking him.
"What? What are you two doing?" Kol demanded.
"Making sure that you do not try to force the witch's hand anymore. We heard you tried to put Nik up," Rebekah snarled, holding up Kol's baseball bat in a threatening manner.
"Now, Rebekah, you know that we agreed to talk to him. And that we only use more… aggressive measures if he does not give us answers," Elijah reminded their sister, who let the bat drop.
Sneering, Rebekah waved the bat back and forth. "Go, for it. I can guarantee that we will have to hit to get an honest answer."
"Elijah, you're reasonable. You understand why Nik needed to be placed on the block. He's a danger to us all. He'll win this bloody thing, if we let him. He's the least popular amongst the MF gang, and still, he is here. He has Caroline. He has more respect than he ever did on the outside or perhaps they still fear him even though he can't kill them," Kol addressed Eljah as sincerely as he could.
Elijah looked thoughtful before glancing at Rebekah who looked troubled. "You might be right, Kol. But what would you suggest we do to make sure that it is not Niklaus who wins?"
"I suggest that we send Liz Forbes home," Kol told them. "She's going to vote whichever way her darling daughter wants and as long as she and Klaus rule this house, we're all one step closer to going home."
"And we keep Jeremy?" Rebekah's voice was tinged with hope and Kol tried not to gag. He could not understand what it was with his sister and commoners, especially after Alexander. You would think she would have learned her lesson.
"Houseguests," Julie called from the loudspeakers. "It is time to gather in the living room for another live vote to begin." Everyone gathered in the living room, sitting down on the couches and floor. "How are things since you announced your choice for a replacement nominee, Bonnie?" Julie asked and Bonnie smiled weakly.
"Things have cooled down. There were some hurt feelings, but we made up," Bonnie said, nodding at Caroline who grinned back.
"Good. We're always happy to see strong friendships in the house," Julie told them with wide smile. "Liz, tell me quickly, how did you feel when Bonnie announced that you might be going home?"
Liz sighed and then forced a smile. "I was surprised, but that's the game. You can never think that you're safe."
Julie turned to the audience. "In mere minutes another houseguest will be collecting their belongs and saying good-bye to the Big Brother house, tonight." Turning back to the audience, she smiled. "Okay, it is time to begin the live vote. Matt, you may enter the diary room, now."
Matt looked at the floor, trying to avoid making eye contact with anyone in the house. It was really weird having one of his best friends, the mother of his ex-girlfriend/friend, and the ex-boyfriend of the former love of his life all up against each other. He knew who he didn't want to go home, but he didn't know what was best for his game other than all three went home tonight.
"Hello, Matt," Julie addressed him as he took his seat.
"Hi, Julie," he greeted her with his trademark goofy grin.
"Are you ready to cast your vote?" Julie asked and Matt nodded.
"Yeah. Yeah, I am," Matt replied. "I vote to evict, Stefan Salvatore," he said calmly. "No hard feelings, man."
Julie turns to the audience. "That is one vote for Stefan. Let's see who Katherine will vote against." Looking at the screen, Julie speaks to the remaining doppleganger in the house. "Katherine, please, enter the diary room and cast your vote." Katherine gets up and smirks at the three houseguests on the block before strutting back to the diary room. "Hello, Katherine," Julie greets her.
"Hey, Jules, how's your night?" Katherine asks with a wide grin. She's relaxed into the diary room chair without a care in the world.
"I'm doing well," Julie replies. "Please, cast your vote now."
Katherine leans toward the camera. "I want Jer Gilbert to go home, but I'm voting for Momma Forbes to go."
"Thank you, Katherine," Julie intones as the vampire blows a kiss at the camera before exiting. "One vote against Stefan, and one vote against Liz," Julie calls to the audience. "Lexi, will you, please, enter the diary room and cast your vote?" Lexi enters the diary room and takes a seat. "Hello, Lexi," Julie greets her. "Please, cast you vote."
Lexi nods. "I vote for Jeremy Gilbert. Sorry, but if it's between my bestie and his other bestie's mom, you've got to go."
Julie looks at the audience with a wide smile. "One vote for each player, but we still have several votes left, let's see what Elijah has to say. Elijah, will you, please, enter the diary room, and cast your vote, now."
Elijah walks back to the diary room, passing Lexi with a nod on his way there. Sitting down, he unbuttons his jacket and smiles. "Hello, Julie," he says before she can greet him.
"Hello, Elijah, this is an exciting night as we come closer to the end," Julie replies and Elijah chuckles.
"I'm not sure how close you could say that we are. We still have quite a few members of this household," Elijah replies.
"But you should be used to being around so many people," Julie teases and the houseguests in the living room look at each wondering what is taking so long.
"Oh, yes, I am," Elijah replies.
"So, what's it like growing up with Klaus?" Julie asks and then there is a knock on the diary room door.
"What in the hell is going on there? Elijah, vote and leave. It's not the bathroom where you go in there and read the newspaper," Damon yells, pounding on the door which is locked.
Julie and Elijah ignore Damon and continue to discuss Elijah's and Klaus' childhood, their worst fears, what kind of literature they like, and the weather before Katherine comes back and begins to pound on the door. "Elijah, you had better not be having an emotional affair, again. I have feelings. I'll share them with you as soon you bring your sorry suit wearing butt out here," she yells, waving around Kol's baseball bat as Kol comes back to find out what all the fuss is about.
"That's mine," Kol yells at Katherine and they begin to fight over the bat. Unperturbed, Elijah casts his vote. "I vote to evict Stefan Salvatore," Elijah states. When he opens the door, he comes face to face with Damon, who has no idea who Elijah voted for, thanks to the vampire soundproofing. Stepping over Kol and Katherine, Elijah walks away unscathed as Damon enters the diary room while the other two vampires roll around just outside the door.
"Hello, Damon, we were going to call Rebekah next, but since you're here…" Julie trails off knowing what Damon is about to do.
"I vote to evict, Jer. Sorry, man," Damon says and he is surprisingly sincere. When he gets up, he exits, stepping over Katherine who is beating Kol senseless with his bat and goes out to the living room. "SexyBex, it's your turn."
When Rebekah goes down the hall she finds that the door to the diary room is locked and Katherine is lying just outside the room with a snapped neck. "Right then," Rebekah muttered irritably. "Why is it that I'm always being shut out of things?"
"Because I'm prettier than you are," Kol tells her, exiting the door.
Rebekah grabs her brother by the arm. "Did you vote the way that we agreed?" she asks him.
Kol grins. "Of course I did. Why wouldn't I?"
Moments earlier in the diary room:
Kol is checking himself in the camera's lens. "Kol," Julie calls. "Kol? Kol, what are you doing?"
"I thought I saw a wrinkle," Kol muttered then grinned. "Just been looking at Nik too long. Ah, yes, voting. I vote to evict Jeremy Gilbert," Kol told Julie with a wicked grin. "Don't try to twist my arm, Bekah," he said before exiting the room with a smile directed at his sister.
TBC
Remember, you have till Wednesday to vote for who you want to see out of the house and to tell me who you want to see begin the next reign as HOH.
Thanks for reading, faving, following and for reviewing!
.Delena: I did and I'm happy to see there are still readers.
Cchavi: Yup. For now. Unfortunately, we've still got a ways to go before we can see if Kat makes it to the final four.
Vonpringle: Thank you all the reviews. If Stefan makes it through the next chapter then he will be the next HOH for sure and I will find someone for him to hook up with. Maybe we'll send someone in.
Ellerose77: Thank you and I understand. It's hard to put anyone up, let alone send them packing.
ObsessWithElijah: I did my best since I wrote this in about an hour. I hope you enjoy the chaos. And thank you for voting.
Peace,
Jessica
