Chapter 28 - Pet Jashinist

Kage strolled out of Amegakure happily. Today had been great so far; Pein didn't object to her leavings, her shower was uninterrupted for once and she had the Jashinist doing what she wanted until Ten o'clock that night. He of course whined at first, but after a few friendly, reminding stomps into the stomach he finally came around.

"You do know Wind Country is fucking south of here right, and that we're fucking headed north?" Hidan questioned rudely.

"I have to make a quick errand first." She answered quickly and simply. The air was cool and the sky was full of gray clouds; for some reason she felt playful. "Should be close by now.." She whispered and poked her cheek.

The magenta-eyed Death Saint gave the back of her head a suspicious gaze. "Fuckin' close to what..?"

"Nothing."

"Bitch tell me." He pried. He didn't want to be there, the only reason he was here was all because of that damn leader, Pein. This was his fault. Why couldn't that stupid bastard have put her in a different group? He could handle his own.

Kage spun around in her heel and placed her balled fists on her curvy hips. "Hidan... Whatever the heck your name is-"

"My fucking name is Hirokudo, thank you very damn much." He snapped.

Kage gave him a surprised glance. "Hidan Hirokudo? I didn't even think you had a last name."

"It's fucking gay as hell, that's why I don't fucking go by it." He growled an explanation. "Most of the damn group fucking hate their families or never fucking knew them, so they don't acknowledge their dumbass surnames. Now since you know my surname tell me where the hell we're going."

"Nope." She put her hands behind her back and began walking again. "I never asked too know, you let it spill out, plus I shouldn't have to tell you anything since I'm using one of my seven days, Hirokudo-San." A mischievous smirk spread across her lips. He growled and gripped his triple-bladed scythe with so much strength Kage thought it would have broken by now. "Now look." She slowed down so Hidan could walk by her side. A bare, feminine arm lifted and pointed in front of them. "When we get to that village you just relax and hang around okay?"

"Fuck no."

"Hidan!"

The Death-nin growled and crossed his arms. What was she up to? "Why the fuck should I stay there when your skinny ass isn't?"

"I have things I need to do." She explained with a slightly annoyed tone.

"Oh like what? Like fucking running off?"

Oh how stupid he was. She couldn't just say that she was going to meet someone, because then the idiot would probably tag along no matter what she said.

"Feminine products." She said in a mock-horror voice. He turned his head to her with a void expression to counter her goofy scare.

"The only damn feminine thing about you is your fucking body." For once he didn't sound enraged, which caught her off guard. Kage clenched a fist and forced herself not to hit the Jashinist hard enough to visit the stars.
The blonde inhaled and exhaled deeply to calm herself. 'Calm down.' She told herself in thought. 'This isn't you. You're kind and have manners, not a ruffian like this jerk.'

"Just stay there. I won that bet fair and square so just do what I tell you. I could force a dress on you, but all I'm asking you is to stay behind for about an hour."

"A fucking hour?!" He whined. Hidan grumbled when she nodded and began thinking of things he could do. A sadistic smile began creeping over his face. "Fine then. I'll just fuckin-"

"NO sacrifices unless they are in the bingo book or it is an animal that is wounded beyond healing." Kage thumped him with a finger.

He rubbed the spot on his head where she poked him and mumbled curses at her. What a bitch.

"Here." She pulled out a thick stack of yen and handed it to him.

Hidan grabbed the money. "What the hell is this for?"

"For your hour. Spend it on whatever." She waved a hand.

"I-"

Before he could even start Kage reached back and grabbed his throat roughly. "Listen here you silver-haired moron. I am being nice. I could just leave you here, immobile, but because I'm so nice I'm giving you some of my pay so that you won't be entirely bored." She then shook him. "Now shut up, and enjoy your free time. We aren't walking all the way to Wind Country." She then let him go.

"Bitch did you just read me?!" He snapped. Hidan and the others knew she was able to see other's lives by touching their necks.

Kage threw her arms into the air. "No one can read someone when that person is so infuriating and annoying to the point that you can't concentrate!" She hollered. "If you need an easier explanation then, no, I didn't." The blonde snarled and began walking again.

Hidan clenched his jaw and then spat at the spot she had just been. "Fucking bitch."

"What is getting over me?" Kage sighed. "Why am I getting so angry lately?" Her eyes softened and looked at her hands.

She had almost walked right past a certain man, being so deep in thought.

"Hn." Her head shot up and her eyes searched around her. "Over here."

Sasuke was giving her an annoyed expression and a mock wave. "Oh." She turned and walked to him. "Sorry I was thinking about things."

"You're late."

"Yeah and if you would rather spend forty minutes complaining rather than talking then go right on ahead." She countered.

His eyebrows creased. "What do you mean by forty minutes?"

She groaned. If this was all he wanted to know then great; that would be less time she had to answer his annoying questions. "Hidan is waiting for me. I told him I'd be back from getting certain things in an hour. Is this all you wanted to know?"

"No." He growled. All the girl had to say was she being followed around.

"Okay." She performed a series of hands signs. A thick shell surrounded the two and brought them underground so no one could see them. Kage dug around in her waist holster and lit a candle. "Alrighty then."

"Why are you in the Akatsuki?" Sasuke couldn't wait any longer. He was full of questions and would have bursted if he hadn't had to put in the stoic and cool act.

Remain cool.

Kage was putting the lid back onto her water canister when he had finished. Her throat had become dry for some reason.

Probably from getting so angry.

"I was kinda forced into it."

"Kinda?" He perked a brow.

Her blonde hair moved across her shoulders and back smoothly as she nodded. "Yeah, I don't really want I talk about it."

He grew quiet. Sasuke wanted to know why, but he didn't want to force too many questions on her to the pout she would break down from overwhelming her. She caught his long silence and sighed. "Deidara planted some explosive clay into someone I care very deeply about."

"So just kill him." The Uchiha Avenger shrugged.

"Can't."

"Why not?" The raven-haired teen asked. "You outclass him highly, even managed to outwit and escape 7 of the continents most deadly ninja. I'm pretty sure you could kill all of them if you wanted to."

He then caught her frown. "You don't want to, do you?"

"Yes! Well.." She paused and stared at the ground.

Sasuke laughed hysterically. The situation was twistedly hilarious. "You don't want to kill the ones who have killed hundreds?" He was mainly thinking about his brother when he said that. "What's wrong with you?"

Kage straightened her posture and glared at him. "Unlike them I don't like to kill."

"You sure killed a lot of people back in Otogakure." He sniffed. "At least that guy did. Who was that anyway?"

"That is something I shouldn't have to tell you, and something I will not tell you right now." Kage quipped and flicked her wrist. The light of the candle reflected off of the ring on her hand; catching the Uchiha's eyes.

"Oh so you'll tell me how you're helping my brother and his group of bastards take Jinchuuriki?" He tilted his head with a blank stare.

She rolled her eyes and ignored that. "Look if I kill Deidara it would solve nothing. One of them would kill my sister and the entire Sand-" her eyes widened. Great now she was slipping information.

His eyes widened slightly as well. So she was only helping because it was her sister? Suddenly anger swarmed in him just by thinking of the siblings; siblings in general. She would go so far to protect her kin? He clenched his fist tightly. "So you're working with Itatchi, tell me what he's planning."

"What are you talking about?" She inwardly sighed. His aura was leaking his hidden wrath but that wasn't her problem. "I don't work with Itatchi."

"You have to know something." He reached out and grabbed her throat. His emotions were raging and his head was swarming with questions. Kage began struggling and put her hands between them. Her emotions were swarming; fear, anger, confusion.. "Don't fucking lie to me!" He seethed.

Her fingers brushed against the base of his neck in her panic. The blonde was worried the same thing would happen as it did with Itatchi; then the avenger would see her memories of talking to Itatchi. He stopped crushing her and was staring down into her eyes now.

"Sasuke?"

She wasn't able to move him- as if something was holding him there, and she hadn't seen his future or past. What was going on?
