Hello, everyone! I know that I haven't updated "Stolen Moments" in a while, but real life has been really hectic and inspiration hasn't been easy to come by. However, I have a moment now, so I'll treat you to an update.
'Cause she's so high
High above me
She's so lovely
She's so high
Like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, or Aphrodite
Da da-da da da
She's so high

St. Patrick's Day…
Green lights were strewn about everywhere as Klaus surveyed the St. Patrick's Day party he was hosting at the mansion. The guests were enjoying themselves and dancing to the Irish music that was being provided by the band he had hired for the evening. As he continued to watch the people, he saw that Caroline was walking around, mingling with the guests like the gracious hostess that she was. Klaus smiled at that, knowing that this wasn't just his party, but it was hers as well, and he couldn't very well take all the credit.
It wasn't long until Caroline noticed that he was watching as she mingled and went over to him. "I see that you've been unable to resist following me around."
Klaus chuckled at her remark. "My apologies, love." He eyed her up and down, admiring the green dress she was wearing. "You look absolutely ravishing in that dress, like a four-leaf clover in a field of shamrocks."
"It's St. Patrick's Day, after all," said Caroline. "I want to look the part. Besides, I also don't want to be pinched because I wasn't wearing green." She laughed. "Isn't that silly? Getting pinched because I wasn't wearing green? That sounds so juvenile."
"You know humans, love, they're creatures of habit, childish as it may seem."
Caroline was about to respond to that when her hearing alerted her to another Irish song being played by the band. With a smile, she said, "As long as you're here, would you like to dance a jig or two with me? It'll be rude if the host and hostess don't at least join the crowd."
"You don't have ask me twice," said Klaus. "I'd love to dance with the prettiest girl in the room."
Caroline laughed again and took his hand, following him out onto the dance floor, where he pulled her close to him as they moved to the music. Klaus was definitely impressed as they continued to dance. For someone who had never danced an Irish jig before, Caroline seemed like she was a natural, as though she was born to do it.
"You're quite a natural at this," he said. "I take it being Miss Mystic Falls has taught you a thing or two about Irish jigs?"
Caroline smiled. "Well, dancing is dancing, and you know how I like learning new things."
Klaus returned her smile and they continued to dance with the crowd, as well as receiving applause from those who were standing on the sidelines. After the dancing was over, Klaus and Caroline proceeded to the bar, where they got some green beer and sat down at one of the tables.
"You know," said Caroline when they were seated. "I never really tried green beer when I was still human."
"Oh?" said Klaus. "And why is that, love?"
Caroline laughed slightly. "You're going to think this is dumb, but whenever I looked at it, I imagined that thousands upon thousands of leprechauns had to die in order for it to be the green color that it was. I know that it's really green food coloring that they add to it, but at first glance, that's what your imagination tells you that it is."
"I don't think it's dumb at all."
Caroline raised an eyebrow. "You don't?"
Klaus shook his head. "No."
"Not even a little?"
"Not even a little," said Klaus. "Oh, come now, Caroline, you should know me by now. You can tell me anything and I wouldn't think less of you." He nodded toward the beer. "Why don't you try the beer?"
Caroline nodded slowly and then lifted the mug, taking a slow sip of it. Klaus watched her with a smile on his face and after she was finished, there was silence between them before Klaus spoke first.
"Well? Does it taste like leprechauns?"
"No, it tastes like regular beer, only with green coloring added to it."
Klaus smiled again. Then, after he finished his beer, he heard more Irish music being played and stood up, extending to his hand to the blonde vampire.
"Care to dance another jig with me?"
"I suppose I could do another jig," she replied. "As long as you don't spin me around, like Jack did to Rose in that third class party scene in Titanic."
"I promise."
Caroline nodded at his word and took his hand, following him out onto the dance floor, where they dazzled everyone with another round of dancing.
Note: I know this is short, but I couldn't think of anything else to add. Happy St. Patrick's Day, lovelies!
