Chapter 28: You'reupagainstAshinthethirdround
Misty's POV
I had attended Ash's match. I had parted to let Joan pass. I had watched Ash's victory. I had witnessed Pikachu's pride after winning, pride and joy that he had Ash as a trainer, pride and joy I wish I had.
Why can't I just walk up to him and ask him out? In ALL the movies they- er- in MOST the movies they just walk up to the guy and ask him out. Why can't I just do that? Oh, fuck.
Generally, it's the guy that wants to hook up with the girl, why did I have to mess up so badly? We could have been together, we could have traveled the world, I could have helped him make that around the world trip, I could have been his.
Why do I have to be so much of a fail?
I turned away just as the next competition was starting. I walked to the sign-up tent, only to be intercepted by Dawn and Charlotte halfway there.
"You'reupagainstAshinthethirdround!" The screamed almost in unison.
"Uh… What?" I asked, very confused.
"You'reupagainstAshinthethirdround!"
"I'm What? You need to slow down."
"You're. Up. Against. ASH. In. The. Third. Round!" The screeched. Shit.
"I signed up so that maybe I could give the prize money to Ash to give me an upper hand, but if Ash wins then that would sort of defeat the porpoise."
"Exactly! Now, if you beat him, he'll think poorly of you, and if you lose, you won't have anything to give him." Dawn sighed, "Misty, the only way you can win, and I don't mean win the battle, is if you ask him before the battle."
"But Dawn," I persisted
"Misty, there isn't anything I can do."
"Misty, you have to face it, the most likely way to get in with him is to ask him before the battle. It's our only choice.
I sighed and started walking towards the area of the arena, not caring if they were following.
"Attention Ladies and Gentlemen! The next match is between Ash Ketchum and Misty Waterflower, the younger sister of the three sensational sisters."
I started running towards the stage and hoisted myself up, to notice that Ash was nowhere to be seen.
"This is a one versus one battle, winner moves on towards the trophy and thousand-dollar reward. Let the match- Hey, where's Ash?" The announcer stuttered.
I looked around and took a big breath as I saw some people parting. Soon enough, Gary was pulling himself onto the platform. He walked over to the announcer and whispered something to him.
He stepped back and then gestured for me to follow him.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I am sorry to report that Ash Ketchum was not able to attend, and therefor is eliminated." The announcer said as we jumped down.
We walked until the crowed was less dense, when Gary started to sprint. I struggled to keep up, and it was just then I heard a siren. We turned onto a backstreet, where I stopped practically instantly. Sitting there was an ambulance, and worse was that Gary got inside. Brock waved me towards the back, where he helped me inside.
"Oh. My. God." I said. Ash was lying on a stretcher, unconscious and bleeding from the head, and Jordan was sitting on a seat next to him, pressing a towel on Ash's bleeding head. I looked at him and he had a bruise on his cheek, and he didn't look too exited. "What happened?" I said, barely audible.
"Well, Ash, Gary, and I were walking, when we met up with Jordan. Now, we didn't know Ash was to battle soon, so when we heard this we started running through the nearest route. We went down this back ally, where a group of Girls was standing. One turned around and screamed 'it's Jordan', and then they all turned around and attempted to- well, you know. When he cried out for Ash, they automatically turned and some departed for their new 'prize'. Fighting broke out, and Brock stepped in. It was then that I saw some guy grab his ripped up shirt and run. Apparently they were in the process of raping him."
"Ash had been hit in the face, and feel to the pavement. Someone else had been currently holding his hands to prevent his escape, and so when he fell over he wasn't able to break his fall. Gary was busy trying to tell the ambulance where to go, VIA his phone. Eventually a police cruiser pulled up, and the man stepped out. The police handcuffed the girls and took them to the station, and then the ambulance arrived a few minutes later."
Yep. I cried. I grabbed onto Ash and held him tight… Which probably isn't smart, but whatever.
I just cried. I had no idea how long I was crying, but I was alerted when we suddenly pulled to a stop. The hospital. Ash had better not have lost too much blood during the drive.
A.M.
Alright, did my reviews break or what? I would at least expect on VIP to review… Speaking of VIP, welcome, Acgamer69, to the world of VIPs.
